I attended a wedding here and was blown away by the stunning mountain views— felt like a postcard, especially during golden hour. The venue was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and the accommodations were incredibly comfortable. Everything was thoughtfully organized, and the whole weekend felt relaxed yet elegant. Appalachian View was the perfect place for our big day! From the cabins, to the outdoor ceremony space, to the stunning views, this was absolutely the best venue! The staff was beyond helpful in the planning of our big day and making sure that we had everything we needed during our wedding and our weekend stay. Gracie and Pam are spectacular and were such a joy to work with! So many of our guests shared how much they loved the venue and just how beautiful the ceremony was outside with the mountains in the background. Appalachian View is worth every penny, and we are so thankful we chose to have our wedding here!Appalachian View's reply:

I had the immense pleasure of hosting my wedding at Appalachian View LLC in Newland, NC, on August 11, 2024, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience. From start to finish, the process was smooth and professional, thanks to the incredible team of Pam and Gracie, who facilitated the operations at the venue.
Pam, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure my special day was everything I dreamed of. Her patience, organization, and genuine passion for making every wedding unforgettable were evident in every interaction. She not only offered invaluable advice but also referred me to trusted vendors, making the planning process seamless. I was even able to rent her stunning place settings, which perfectly complemented my wedding theme and were surprisingly affordable!
When I finally met Pam in person before the wedding day, she treated me like family—truly making me feel like a daughter. That warmth and care continued throughout the entire experience.
On the wedding day itself, everything was executed flawlessly. The venue’s attention to detail, from setup to operations, ensured a stress-free and magical day for my husband and I. The breathtaking property was the perfect backdrop for celebrating with our closest friends and family.
The combination of exceptional service, kindness, patience, and compassion, paired with the stunning beauty of Appalachian View, made it a day I will treasure forever. I wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a place to celebrate their love—it’s an absolute gem!

Me and my husband got married here May 12th, 2024 and I could not recommend this venue enough. Everyone is so nice, informative and easy to work with. The views, landscaping and reception area are so beautiful!! Plus the venue comes with TWO cabins that are included with the Friday/Saturday packages as well as the Sunday package! They also have a back up ceremony site that is indoors in case it rains, that is not the reception area! This is extremely hard to find! We loved the flow for the as they have a window inside and outside for cocktail hour. I can not recommend Appalachian View to couples enough.Appalachian View's reply:

Appalachian View made my job as the wedding planner absolutely seamless. The staff were incredibly helpful and always available whenever we needed anything. Everything was set up promptly, and their positive and professional attitudes made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. Fantastic Venue!
We just hosted our daughter’s wedding there this weekend. Everything about the place was fantastic. We had the place from Friday noon through Sunday morning. Having the wedding, rehearsal dinner and reception all at the same place was so convenient. To make it even better we stayed on site in wonderful cabins to make setup and tear down easy. The owner and staff were so gracious and accommodating. Nothing but rave reviews from our guests. The view was incredible. I can’t imagine a better experience anywhere! -

This was absolutely the most perfect venue for our wedding. It was BEAUTIFUL and had everything you could ever need. Nicole, Cathy and Dale were so incredibly helpful and kind and communicative. It was a perfect experience. They provided chairs, tables, tablecloths, everything you could need! They even set them up for you. The views are INCREDIBLE. Like you seriously have to see a sunset here. It is amazing! They will go out of their way to make sure your day is perfect. For example, I completely forgot to get sparklers. I have no idea why or how, but I just forgot and did not realize until the photographer asked. Nicole just happened to have extra in her car and saved the day! She did not even think twice about letting us use them. I just cannot express how perfect this venue is. You need to have your wedding here!!Appalachian View's reply:

Amazing staff go above and beyond!
I was the event planner for a wedding on 8/6/22. Nicole was amazing from start to finish and her and David went above and beyond to make everything seamless for Natalie & Marshall’s wedding. Every email prior to arrival was responded to quickly. We had great communication and even with the threat of inclement weather the day of, they began formulating a back up plan with us to ensure guests, the bridal party and vendors would be covered. Thank you so much to the AV crew! Breathtaking views and beautiful building also make this a perfect venue for any event. You are amazing and I truly hope to get the chance to work with you all again soon!!

We are so happy we chose App View for our destination wedding. It was the best day on the most beautiful well maintained property. The facility was absolutely flawless and they even offer an alternate indoor ceremony space in case of rain. Our guest were were blown away with the amazing mountain views from all angles. An Elegant, Well-Planned Venue with Gorgeous Scenery!
Cathy, her husband Dale, and Nichole were wonderful to work with! We fell in love with Appalachian View right from the start, and appreciated Cathy's practical advice! Throughout the planning process, we were pleased with response times to any questions we had, and appreciated that we were able to visit several times to show the venue to our friends and coordinator!
On our wedding weekend, Nichole was very present and helpful and ensured everything ran smoothly! She also did a fantastic job bringing our floor plan to life! Both the main and rehearsal building provided everything that we and our vendors needed, and several of our vendors commented on how well everything was planned out for their use! Even with clouds on our wedding day, the venue provided the most beautiful pictures and scenery! We would choose this venue 100 times over again!Appalachian View's reply:

I am a wedding planner and I recently had the pleasure of doing a wedding at Appalachian View. When I say this was the best wedding I've done my entire career, I'm not just saying that. This venue was FANTASTIC all the way around - the owner Cathy was so sweet, the venue manager Nicole was so helpful, the venue assistant Cheyenne helped out so much. This venue has it all - a great staff, the best view of the mountains that I've ever seen, beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, and just an overall feeling of happiness and peace permeating the grounds. I cannot WAIT to do another wedding with them! -

Spectacular place to host a NC mountain wedding!
Definitely picked Appalachian View for the views, and man they did not disappoint! If you’re looking for a wedding in the NC mountains, with the most helpful staff, this is it. The building itself is beautiful, and has everything you need, not requiring extra cost going into decorating. The staff kept me up to date and was very good at communication in the months leading up to the wedding. They are constantly updating and adding on to make this the most beautiful venue. My guests could not stop complimenting the venue more than me as a bride! Our vendors also said the venue was awesome to coordinate with, which is a huge plus.
Also, best price in the area if you’re a budget friendly bride!! -

Incredible!
This venue exceeded all my expectations for a mountain view fall wedding. The facilities indoor and out were perfect, and it seems as if Cathy really thought of everything while building this venue. The views are breathtaking, and the indoor set up is just as great. Cathy has a lot of materials we were able to use without needing to go to outside rental agencies - such as chairs, tables, tablecloths, and the list goes on! Would definitely recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for fantastic scenery at a very reasonable price, with spaces indoor and out for their ceremony and reception!Appalachian View's reply:

I cannot say enough about Cathy and Appalachian View! She and her team were my best vendor to work with. She did multiple tours with us and willing to share all her resources since we were local. She even helped during our Sunday wedding and went above and beyond during to make the day special when it rained. The photography was beautiful and I cannot stress enough how beautiful it was there.

Breathtaking views and amazing owners!
We used Cathy and Dale with Appalachian View for our wedding venue this past October. I can't tell you how lucky we were to have come across this new venue nestled near Grandfather during the middle of the crazy pandemic. I was worried how things would be by the time my 2021 wedding arrived but there was no stress to be had because Cathy was on top of everything! They really were so thorough in the design and implementation of this venue space. Not to mention she was super involved in helping make our day perfect! The venue is absolutely stunning and all of our out of town guest raved about how beautiful the space was and how breathtaking the views were (even on a cold cloudy day!) If you are in the search for a NC mountain venue that includes it all this is the space for you! There is a backup option for weather (which saved us!) and I cannot say it enough times how involved Cathy is in the process of making sure the set up and event flows smoothly!Appalachian View's reply:

This was the first venue I called at the beginning of my wedding planning, and Cathy Buchanan was so friendly and helpful from the first moment. Anyone would be lucky to have their wedding here. The genius of a built-for-purpose wedding venue only dawns on you after you have looked at lots of other venues that each have their own unique set of challenges. This venue is perfect in every way. The owner thought of everything so that the annoyances of other venues do not exist here, but you still get a beautiful, unique, memorable setting for your wedding.
The indoor venues are beautiful. I was first attracted to the feeling of a large “blank slate” that it gives, but when you are in there you notice the beautiful details throughout. The light fixtures are stunning and not cheesy the way most wedding venue chandeliers are. The bright, clean feel of the space means you can go rustic if you want to, but you aren’t forced into it by the space like so many other venues in the High Country. The quilts on the walls are gorgeous and they are made by the owner! Our caterer even mentioned loving the venue because of the catering kitchen and the dedicated side entrance. My absolute favorite feature of this venue is, funny enough, the bathrooms and the dressing rooms. They are really, truly, actually wheelchair accessible. They are private and abundant (a private bathroom for the bride, a private bathroom for the groom, a multi-stall women’s room, a multi-stall men’s room, and a separate family/huge wheelchair-accessible single-occupancy bathroom!). If you have loved ones who are in a wheelchair don’t discount how important this all is.
Of course, the best parts of the venue are the views and the grounds, but these parts speak for themselves. -

I don't even know where to begin. This venue exceeded our expectations in every way.
Cathy and Dale (venue owners) went above and beyond to make sure my now-husband (Matt) and I (Juliet) had everything we needed: the obvious items- ironed table cloths, chairs set up exactly how I (the bride) wanted (in the reception hall and the outdoor ceremony and backup ceremony location), and constant availability for all my questions from wedding insurance to table arrangements and more AND the not-so-obvious items- Cathy taking over for my brothers (who served as parking attendants) so they could get seated before I walked down the aisle, constant communication with my day-of-coordinators to make sure everything was going according to plan and making sure my guests were safe (#COVID).
This is one of those hidden treasure venues that not many people know about yet, so I HIGHLY recommend booking before it gets too popular to even book. When you visit, you will agree that everything from the absolutely immaculate landscaping, to the "plan b" ceremony space (a totally separate building called the pavilion), to the custom lighting, is absolute perfection.
Finally, I could write on and on about how gorgeous and spacious this venue is, but what stood out the most to my husband and I was the kindness of Cathy and Dale. Cathy told us that before they even built this venue, they went around asking other local venues if there was "space" for another venue. That alone shows their hearts and character, and it comforted Matt and I, knowing that if Cathy put that much heart into building this venue and creating this experience, our wedding would be perfect. And it was.

Amazing venue and wonderful owners!
We were recently married at Appalachian View and had nothing short of an amazing experience. The owners were extremely flexible with set-up and take-down times and tours and were extremely helpful and fast to respond with questions throughout our planning process. They graciously let us move our date due to COVID and when we did have our wedding, had all the safety precautions to make us feel comfortable and safe. Although it rained and we were unable to have our wedding outdoors, the indoor ceremony pavilion was a perfect way to still have that incredible view of the mountains while staying dry. We also had our rehearsal dinner here and thankfully had a beautiful evening and incredible sunset! Highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting a beautiful mountain wedding with helpful and kind owners to work with!Appalachian View's reply:

I can’t say enough good things about Appalachian View! They were so helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process, doing everything that they could to ensure that our day was perfect. The interior and exterior of the barn is beautiful, and the view is breathtaking. Our guests are still raving about the view and sunset! A separate space is available for indoor weddings, taking the stress off of weather. The venue is also very accessible but has a secluded feel. I’m so glad we chose Appalachian View!
