Booking Anna was my first step in wedding planning. Partly because my venue schedule was pretty open, so working around Anna’s schedule was most important, but mostly because I was familiar with her and her work. She actually photographed my sister’s wedding, so I felt comfortable and confident choosing her for mine. Even though she worked with my sister first and knew me as the bride’s little sister, she never made me feel like a past client’s sister. She walked me through every process and treated me like I was my own person, which may not sound like much, but it meant a lot #littlesistersyndrome lol
I love how her photos reflect true colors, making for timeless photos that won’t show age due to a specific photography trend. My sisters photos, even though they are 5 years old now, still look classy and beautiful, not dated.
Day of, Anna was a huge help as well. She has a bride/couple first mentality, making sure we were okay, taken care of, and enjoying our day. She handled nosy family members like a champ, reminding them that she is photographing the event and for them to let her do her job (respectfully of course).
She kept us on schedule and made sure we got all of the photos we wanted. We requested sunset pictures and she picked the perfect time to pull us away so that we got the photos and didn’t miss too much of the reception.
Having high-quality photos, and a lot of them, was one of my highest priorities for our wedding day. It was truly the best day and I am so thankful to have Anna’s beautiful photos to help us remember the day. She is 100% worth the investment!

MORE THAN 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Why can’t more than 5 stars exist!? I don’t even know where to begin because Anna far exceeded and went above and beyond anything I could have ever asked for in a photographer, and words cannot express how grateful and blessed I feel to have had her over this past year and especially on our wedding day. From the beginning, Anna was so kind and easy to work with. Her energy and passion comes to life and she makes you feel so important, beautiful, and excited all at the same time. She responded quickly to all emails, texts, and phone calls. She was willing to bear the 10 DEGREE WEATHER to capture our engagement pictures. She came equipped with hand warmers, blankets, and even took the time to go hike the mountain a week beforehand to make sure she understood the landscape and lighting - like are you kidding me?! She knows exactly how to direct you (especially when you’re freezing your butt off and need to hurry) and get the perfect shots. I was nervous about Covid and don’t live in Virginia (where our wedding would take place) and she took the time to talk me through her thoughts and help put my mind at ease, it felt like I was talking to a lifelong friend. On our wedding day, she arrived with such a great energy and made sure we stayed on time and got things DONE. Like I was warned, time does slip fast that day and she made sure we got everything done that we needed. She knew exactly when to come up to me to snag me for sunset pics, which were being threatened by rain. Her and her assistant were watching the radar like hawks and were literally planning things minute by minute to ensure the 10 minute gap in rain that we went outside to do the sparkler exit and photos in our get away car. She wasn’t afraid to tell people to kindly but firmly move to make sure we stayed on track to get pictures. And as if my mind wasn’t already blown away, she had us jump in a rain puddle at the end of the night and kick water AT HER. She was literally getting dirty, cold, muddy water splashed all over her and in her face and it didn’t even phase her, she just said “keep kicking!” Lol I could seriously cry just thinking about how grateful I am for her and she is worth every penny and more. Lastly, on top of alllllll of that, her work is BREATHTAKING. The talent that this woman has is indescribable. If you don’t hire Anna, you’re missing out on the best photographer on this planet. Thank you Anna , for everything ❤️ -

My husband and I used Anna Bowser Photography for our wedding and could not be more pleased! Anna is flexible and creative, organized and efficient, professional and personable. It POURED rain during our engagement session, but that didn’t stop her from capturing gorgeous, colorful photos! This incredible lady crawled around in the mud, photographed from under a bush, and hiked all around the grounds of our engagement session looking for colorful trees. During our wedding, she and her assistant captured every detail in exquisite style. They were professional and unobtrusive, yet kept things moving along and had a well-thought-out process. Anna was willing to work with me to plan every single detail of the day down to the minute and communicated quickly through email and text. She is very experienced and was able to offer excellent advice. We received back so many photos and we treasure them! The prints we ordered are lovely and high-quality. I cannot recommend ABP enough! Thank you, Anna! -

Anna was absolutely incredible at the proposal photo shoot my now fiance set up for us. She met us on the top of Sharp Top at the Peaks of Otter, and secretly set herself up to take photos while he proposed! And then we had an epic mountain top photo shoot in the change of clothes he packed. Anna was absolutely amazing to work with, and had the perfect balance of letting us soak in the moment and capturing it all. We new we had to book her for our wedding right away! -

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous
Anna was incredibly fun and easy to work with. She was receptive, attentive, and personable through the whole photography process- from our first meeting to our engagement session all the way through the final shots of our wedding night. We undeniably made the right choice with Anna Bowser Photography. The only problem is picking our favorites because there are too many amazing photos to choose just a few. I look forward to working with Anna again in the future. -

We met Anna accidentally while on a hike. We immediately knew we wanted to have her as our wedding photographer and we are so glad that we did! Anna was very easy to work with, very professional and her photographs are amazing! We loved her sense of adventure and our mountain engagement session. We also love all of our wedding photographs, it was very hard to pick our favorites! -
Kristen Sent on 07/02/2018When I was first looking up photographers for our wedding, Anna was the one I was instantly drawn to. She seemed to have a great personality even just from her words on her website, and I loved seeing the personality of her couples in her amazing photography gallery. When I first contacted her, she was also drawn to us! Our first consult was expected to last an hour and probably lasted at least 2! She took the time to get to know us, how we met, etc. before getting into the business side. She is one of those people that I can see being friends with even now, after our wedding!
Anna is a sweet person, talented photographer, and utmost professional. We gave her ideas of what we wanted to do (in our engagement session as well as wedding), but also trusted her to get the shots we may have not thought about. I also did a “just for him” session with Anna and it was a lot of fun, especially for something that I would usually be uncomfortable with. There was a lot of laughter and she made the entire experience comfortable.
Anna is timely, knows how to be efficient, and her second shooter (although I did not work much with her the day of) Riley seemed sweet and knew what she was doing as well. During the reception, I could see both of them working the room and taking photos – though never in the way!
While I am still waiting for the wedding photos (the wedding was only a few weeks ago!), I know they will be great. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Anna! We’re not local, but she will travel (as will we!) and if we ever want a photo session in the future, we will definitely consider her! Her prices were reasonable and well worth every single penny!!!

Lauren Sent on 06/03/2018Anna is both photographer and coordinator in one! This girl is on top of it. I gave her a wedding day itinerary that she helped me edit beforehand to help things run more smoothly. She kept everything and everyone moving, kept me calm if things got off track, and was immediately prepared with a new plan. Not only that, but she made being photographed feel so easy and natural for two people, like most couples, who aren’t typically in front of a camera. By taking interest in what was most important to us on our wedding day, Anna was able to capture the most perfect and thoughtful moments and details. Overall, such a sweet and fun person to have following you around your entire day! I thought I’d have a few favorites from our wedding, but turns out I’m pretty much just obsessed with all 1,000 pictures. Thank you, Anna! -

Leah Sent on 04/21/2018My fiancé and I hired Anna for both our engagement and wedding photos. At the time of writing, our wedding is still a little over a month away (June 2018), but our engagement photos were taken October 2017. Our engagement photo experience with Anna was so wonderful that we're 100% certain that Anna will do a flawless job with our wedding photos. I will update this review after the wedding, but am sure it will remain 5-star. Here's my review so far based off of our engagement photos:
First of all, booking with Anna was a breeze. She was quick to reply to all messages with helpful information, and very flexible in working with our complicated work schedules. We had our photos taken at a lake, and wanted to get in the water. Anna showed up in a wetsuit with a brand-new waterproof camera case! The photos turned out gorgeous, I've attached a couple to this review as examples.
In addition to her considerable photography skill and talent, Anna is a very pleasant person and excels at photographing couples without making them feel awkward. My fiancé and I felt very relaxed throughout our session (even in the cold water) and I believe it shows in the photos.
I will update with more photos after the wedding. For now, I'll conclude with my belief that Anna is the best wedding photographer in the area, for sure, and worth every penny. -

Anna Bowser was an absolute joy to work with on our wedding from the very beginning! From the first prospective video chat as we were “shopping around” for a photographer, it felt like we were catching up with a friend we had known for years. We booked Anna’s wedding photography services which included an engagement session. We didn’t need engagement photos for any of our wedding stationary or website but it was the perfect time to get to know each other. Although we forgot to bring an outfit and we got a little lost on the hike to the viewpoint, we had fun the whole time and Anna made it a point to get to know us and our love story. The wedding day services were amazing with Anna and her second photographer, Janeen, always on the ball. They worked their way through our photo list with flexibility as conditions changed, and were always looking for ways to capture moments and groups of people that were important to us. Anna was great about letting us know when we had to decide between sunset photos and additional group shots without being pushy. And we are grateful she helped us decide to get the sunset photos – they are some of our favorites! She also made sure to check-in on us throughout the wedding day and worked amazingly with our other vendors. It was a fantastic wedding and we are so happy we chose Anna to capture that magic! -

My husband and I used Anna for our wedding photographer, and we had a great experience! Anna was flexible, creative, and energetic. She was extremely organized and helped keep us focused and on track during our wedding photos. We opted for one shooter and no first look, so we had to get the post ceremony photos done quickly. She did such a good job of taking control and keeping our wedding party in line to avoid chaos. Anna provided great quality photos for our engagement session and our wedding photos. She sent us so many good photos that it has been hard to pick favorites because we love them all. Nothing is off limits with Anna, she will drive near and far and encourage any adventurous ideas that you may have!
