  The most important thing to me for my wedding was the photography and videography. I was really looking for someone with a photojournalist approach, who would capture all the moments and tell the story of my day, and I found that with Anecdotally Yours. I received over 1200 digital photos from the 10 hours that Erica and her second shooter, Keshia were taking photos, and each and every one was outstanding. It's too hard to even find my favorite! The best thing about the photos, is that Erica knows how to take an action shot. There wasn't a single one that looked blurry, and she got the best shots of my friends and family dancing. She was also great about capturing the wedding guests' emotions, and I loved seeing all the smiles on everyone's faces, and the tears on some from the wedding ceremony. I know that as the years go by, and I look at my wedding pictures, I will be able to remember every single moment of that day because of all the great photographs!! :) I don't have the videos back yet (since it takes a little longer than the photographs) but as soon as I do I will right another review! I can tell you that if you're looking for a wedding photographer and videographer in Kansas City (or anywhere else since they do travel!), go with Anecdotally Yours!!!!   The most important thing to me for my wedding was the photography and videography.   Erica was outstanding. Our engagement pictures were everything we could have hoped for on location in the Flint Hills and an excellent reflection of our personalities. It was nice to do the engagement photos with Erica because then we felt extra comfortable on our wedding day - a huge bonus to my husband who hasn't known her for years. Erica has an eye for a detail, portraits and family shots, but the photos she captured of our wedding day also tell our story. She does an excellent job with capturing the entire day! We are also extremely pleased with the value and quality and have hundreds (yes, hundreds) of photos to cherish and remember our wedding.

  Erica and Jeff Short are a beyond amazing duo to work with. Erica provided photography for our engagement photos as well wedding day, while Jeff did the videography. From our first meeting with these two, we knew that we wanted to work with them. They are incredibly talented, kind, and definitely a vendor that we will call on again when we want to capture future life moments.

  We hired Erica at Anecdotally Yours to photograph our November wedding, and are so glad we did. Throughout the wedding planning process, Erica was warm, friendly, knowledgable, and responsive. On our wedding day, Erica was a calming presence. She captured all the important moments while going nearly unnoticed. I wasn't thrilled with my wedding day hair or the fit of my dress, so I was a little nervous about how photos would turn out. However, I was very pleasantly surprised at how good Erica made us look! Both the portrait and candid photos were stunning. Erica is truly a professional and I would highly recommend her!

  We cannot thank the “Anecdotally Yours” Team enough. We have watched our wedding video countless times and every single time, without a doubt, we are blown away with the final product. We were so lucky to have found Jeff and Erica, their talent is second to none. We must have received over twenty different quotes from all over the United States and Mexico and we know without a doubt we chose the best videographers for our wedding. We still have fun finding subtle editing details in our video that I’m sure were painstakingly difficult on their part to put together. I know it’s that extra effort they put into it that makes our wedding video tell our love story so effortlessly. Although have the whole video memorized we continue to smile every time we watch it. While we expected it to bring a few tears to the eyes of our family we never would have guessed that it would have the same effect on friends of family who we have never met before. Our video was so perfectly put together it allowed friends and family who were unable to join us during our wedding weekend feel as if they were there the whole time. The fact that we have such an amazing keepsake from our wedding that we will be able to share with our children and grandchildren is entirely priceless. We are truly grateful for everything that “Anecdotally Yours” did for us. We will most definitely work with them again in the future.

  We absolutely LOVE the pictures that Erica took for our wedding! She took all the pictures that we requested and was also able to capture many of the moments that my husband and I missed throughout our wedding and reception. Erica is so easy to work with and is professional, kind and was all smiles at our wedding. We will be going back to Anecdotally Yours for family pictures in the future.

They pay close attention to detail, and even helped me pull off a surprise for my groom at the end of the reception! The final video was amazing - they captured detailed moments I didn't even realize they were around for! We will cherish our wedding video for years to come.

  We hired both Erica and Jeff to photograph and provide videography of our wedding day. I couldn't be more pleased and I whole heartedly recommend them any chance I get. They are a fabulous team, you will not be disappointed.

Looking back on my day, I don't recall her being there much, which means she did an amazing job. Erica worked with my requests and accommodated anything we asked. Upon receiving my photos, I was in love. She captured the moments of the day so beautifully and now we have some amazing treasures forever. We loved our engagement photos too, which she was so gracious to accommodate our different location requests. Erica is very talented and experienced. She was able to provide just enough guidance without getting in the way of telling our story.
  
  I can't put into words how wonderful and meaningful our wedding video is to us. Jeff did an amazing job telling our story and capturing our day.   We hired Anecdotally Yours to video our wedding ceremony and reception. They went above and beyond in all aspects of their job. They were incredibly easy to work with and the product they delivered was exceptional. My wife and I have watched our wedding video multiple times and been more and more impressed each time!

  Erica has such a gift for capturing amazing pictures. She is so easy and natural to work with and made it that way for us too. I'm not always comfortable taking posed pictures, but she had a way of making them seem natural and beautiful. The candid shots she took when we really weren't paying attention to her, but were focused on each other, or our guests, are many of the ones framed in our house. She has a great ability to make whatever background or venue just work for photos and she's incredibly adept at finding creative places to take really spectacular pictures. She uses natural light beautifully. She's so talented and I think I have never taken more beautiful pictures than I did on our wedding; she just captured my happiness on camera.
  Jeff and Erica also did our wedding video. We are unique in that all of my husband's family, with the exception of 3 people, only speaks Spanish. Jeff's attention to the little details is what really made our video. He captured so many beautiful parts of our day, our family and friends and our lovely venue.
  The work Jeff and Erica do in editing the wedding film is seamless and so professionally done. I am amazed how they were able to represent both of our languages, cultures, and family in one video. The way they edited our guests' speeches in both Spanish and English, was just amazing and I'm sure a lot of work! It was really exactly what we wanted and needed--we have been able to show our video to all of his relatives that weren't able to travel to the U.S.; but more importantly, they're able to not only see how beautiful the day was, but hear the love that just poured out of our friends and family. We feel so blessed to have this!
  And on top of all that--it's just beautifully and thoughtfully done. I'll never forget the first time Gustavo and I watched the video a few short months after our wedding. We both cried such happy tears, for it really and truly captured how ridiculously happy we both were that day.

  Erica was unbelievable. She smiled the entire event, and we had a bridal party of 18! She captured every moment I asked for and more. We had a pictures back so quickly, and we're really struggling to select favorites....because they are ALL our favorites. She is professional, knowledgeable, creative, and a lot of fun. No one could have documented our day better!

  There are so many good things to say about Ericamay photography! She is very flexible with dates/times for engagement pics and can adjust to changing schedules on the day of the wedding. She is also very fun to work with and get the pictures posted online very quickly.

  We hired ericamay to do our engagement pictures and they were absolutely amazing! We (or I) failed to tell Erica ahead of time that I would be bringing along our dog for the session as well and without a hitch, Erica captured some awesome pictures of our family! :) All of our friends and family loved our pictures and we used them on our invitation which actually won an award from Graphic Design USA! We could not have been happier with Erica and we would definitely select her again!

  I worked with Erica in the beginning of her photography days. I was extremely happy with how my pictures turned out. They were gorgeous. Erica has an eye for creative shots but is sure to not miss the traditional posed photos, as well. She is professional, fun and a believer in love -- I couldn't think of anyone better to have as a photographer!

  I married in Jan 2010 in Yelapa, Mexico. Yelapa is a tiny little village that you can only get to by boat. As soon as I got engaged I contacted Erica about our wedding photos. That was about 1.5 years in advance of our wedding date. I feel so fortunate I made that decision!

Their amazingly upbeat and fun style added to all the excitement going on and most importantly they captured truly magical moments for us. They caught the essence of who we are as a couple in both their photos and their film. I actually watched our wedding video just a week ago and it literally made me cry and laugh all over again! We have a little girl now and she loves pointing to our wedding photos framed in the bedroom and talking about them. In fact, their profile photo of the couple with the fireworks is us.
  
  Jeff and Erica are a hardworking, talented, dynamic pair and I can't recommend them highly enough for photos of your special day, your prenatal shots, your family photos, or special videos that truly capture your life as you live it. I continue to follow their work and am so impressed over and over again.
  
  If you let them capture your special moments, you will not be disappointed. In fact, I believe you will be so happy you can't help but look back over your photos and video years later - just like me! I can hardly wait to have them back to Mexico to capture images of our family and our life here.

  If you let them capture your special moments, you will not be disappointed. In fact, I believe you will be so happy you can't help but look back over your photos and video years later - just like me! I can hardly wait to have them back to Mexico to capture images of our family and our life here.
