The best photographer on the coast.

Amy was amazing from start to finish. So attentive to all our needs made sure to have the perfect shot and light. Was easy to work with from the first day we spoke to her on the phone to when we met and to this day still the best so glad we had her by our side for the perfect day in our life's.

After the wedding, photos are all you have. Make them great!!

AMAZING PHOTOS! Amy did her homework and talked with us to get to know us and what we were looking for in our wedding photos. True professional, Worked quickly. Got all of the photos we were looking for, and the ones we hadn't thought of. As time goes on, after the wedding, you realized how important the photos, and the story she tells are.. When all is said and done, you want to make sure you have great photos. Amy is the one. She takes pride in her work, and it shows. Could not be happier about having her photograph our wedding. She also helped in coordinating the whole day, helping in making things run smoothly.

Amazing pictures and professionalism

We had a great experience with Amy and her team and highly recommend her! We got married in LA but planned the wedding from SF. From the start she was super responsive, met with us virtually, and answered many questions as they came up all the way to the wedding week. She helped us put our schedule together, gave her professional advice on what we should and shouldn’t do, and fit in all of our desires. We decided last minute to do bridal party pictures at the house instead of hotel room, and she was very accommodating, and came out to the house, which was quite a drive for her! She took beautiful pictures during the wedding, kept it fun but also on schedule, and turned around a highlight of the pictures within a day.

A true artist

Amy is not just a random person who picked up a nice camera and shoots photos as a second job. She is a true professional who continues to further her education and expertise in photojournalism. Amy did a wonderful job on both our engagement pictures and our wedding pictures. She captured so many wonderful moments during our special day! I highly recommend her to any bride that wants quality photos that capture all the special moments.

Amazing human and talented photographer!

Amy was fantastic, detailed oriented, organized, and gave us the best photos for our special day. We worked with her for both our engagement and our wedding. Her calm demeanor, positive attitude, flexibility, and eye for great photo opportunities gave us beautiful photos we will treasure forever. Leading up to our photo sessions, Amy ensured that we had all the information we needed for our wedding and made sure all the details were ironed out so the day went smoothly. Professional, stylish, and accommodating!

Amy was an amazing photographer at our wedding. We genuinely enjoyed working with her. She was professional and polite, but she kept us on our schedule so that we could get back to our friends and families for the reception and party. She captured a very real and emotional day for us and the photos are stunning.
I’ve worked (as back-up videographer) with a number of other Photographers at weddings and I must say Amy is my favorite to work with. She’s willing to go the extra mile to make your most important day as perfect as possible. Her attention to detail and styles sets her above the rest. Thanks Amy!!

Amazing from start to finish

Amy was amazing from the start. She was so helpful and even when I wanted to get a picture on pismo beach (as that’s were we got engaged) she was only more than happy to make it happen.
Amy fitted right in with everyone at the wedding and to be honest most of the time
I forgot Amy was there haha.
Everyone at the wedding kept saying how nice she is and how great she is at her job.
I couldn’t wait to see the pictures and when they arrived I was blown away with the presentation of them. The pictures turned out better than I ever could of thought and everyone loved them.
We can not recommend Amy enough she is brilliant and a perfectionist and her work is amazing.

Do yourself a favor and choose her

We cannot understate the effect Amy and her team had on our wedding.
From putting our minds at ease months ahead of time at the engagement shoot.
To giving our rehearsal some much needed structure.
To finally taking breathtaking images on the actual day.
Simply put, she was a lifesaver.
We couldn't be happier with the pictures she captured.

Amy is the consummate professional.
My entire family kept remarking on me how much they liked her.
Her calm demeanor was the perfect counterbalance to the craziness of a wedding.
Her competence is only eclipsed by her remarkable talent at photography.
My only regret is that we didn't take a picture with her.

We hired Amy for our wedding on October 2017 and she was the MVP. She was pivotal with organizing the timeline and recommending other venders throughout the planning. She was so easy and fun to work with helping us with every small detail. She not only took pictures but created our wedding invitations and programs. She also made our guest book where our guests could sign for the wedding which was accompanied by a video of photos taken the day of the wedding which we thought was a very nice touch.
The Photos are amazing and so unique because of her creativity in getting memorable shots. She did not miss an opportunity to get a special photo. If we could give her 10 stars we would. Thanks to her we will be able to relive our special day through her exceptional photographs forever.

I actually met Amy for the first time to do maternity and baby photos. I was very uncomfortable having my photo taken, but she made it so easy and I was extremely happy with the photos she took. So when my (now) husband proposed to me, Amy was one of the first people I contacted. He proposed in the spring and we were wanting to have a fall wedding, so I asked Amy for her open dates and we set everything else up around that.

Amy is so sweet, extremely knowledgeable, and has a great eye and talent for photography. My mom and I were even laughing a bit because the area that my ceremony was held was nice, but it wasn't nearly as beautiful in person as it was in her photographs, haha.

Choosing Amy will be one of the best wedding decisions you make. :)

Amy's professionalism, poise and passion absolutely solidified her as our choice as our wedding photographer. She was very kind, honest and helpful in getting us the right background, time of day, and poses for our photos. She allowed our families to have input but also suggested specific shots that helped to influence our best photos that matched our individual personalities. Amy also took time to meet the entire family the day before to get to know us a little before the big day! My husband and I were beyond words when she finalized the wedding album. Speechless and in awe. Amy is committed to helping couples savor the memories through her brilliant skills and knowledge in photography. I found Amy through my wedding planner at the Cliffs and I am forever grateful!!! When I first went on to her website and saw that she had several different styles in which she took her pictures, which were all AMAZING, I was sold. I wanted free flowing romantic playful photos and with her diverse ability to do different styles, I had no doubt she would capture the feeling we were going for. She went above and beyond with making me feel comfortable as I have a couple troubled areas I was sensitive about, and trust me to be able to tell your photographer concerns like that IS A DREAM!!! I never felt nervous around her, even the first time we met I felt like there was an instant connection!! Everyone who was at the wedding loved her presence and kind energy. When the photos came out, I had friends and family tell me that her wedding photos were the best they’d EVER seen!!! Amy has been wonderful with the whole ordering process for pictures, sending us a beautiful personalized flash drive, as well as great advice for book selections. She also took ALL the detailed shots of our DIY projects we put together for the wedding, which was quite a list! I feel truly blessed that she was part of our special day and was able to capture our amazing moments that we will CHERISH forever!!! Her pictures fill my heart with JOY every time I look at them! We could not have had a better photographer for my daughter's wedding. Amy was fun to have at the event--she is good at what she does without being overly enthusiastic. I loved that about her as I was the MOB and already nervous about every little thing! She was reassuring!!!! Her photographs are stunning--friends tell me that she managed to capture everything. We had a busy wedding-a New Orleans style reception with a Second Line Brass Band all the way to beignets, cigars, and scotch at the end. She took it all. I love Amy W. and can't wait to work with her again on daughter #2's wedding (?)!

Couldn't have asked for a more professional photographer! She was knowledgeable, and took the time to help us plan our day. We had the pleasure of working with Amy on both our engagement session and our wedding, and she is simply amazing at what she does. Upon meeting her, you see her passion for photography and how she relishes in the process of taking your vision and turning it into a beautiful masterpiece. All with just a click of a button!

The concept of “Your Story, Your Style” couldn’t be more perfect. Amy was inquisitive and attentive to our ideas and visions, and with every suggestion, she nailed it. The end result was exactly what we envisioned. She was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to discuss every detail with us before each event, and both could not have gone smoother. We opted to have a “first look” on our wedding day and not only did she help setup the timeline, she kept everyone moving to ensure we stayed on schedule to get every shot (which she had already planned since she scoped out venue the day before).

The ideas Amy has and the intricate details she brings to life in each photograph capture every moment to it’s fullest. I started looking for wedding photographers first because it was the most important vendor to me. I met with several photographers and then while scrolling through a wedding site on facebook, I saw a post from one of Amy's weddings. It was exactly what I was looking for. So I booked my appointment. We met her in her fabulous studio. She had so many gorgeous albums to look through and many large prints of her work. It was beautiful. We sat and talked and Amy was very sweet and easy going. A few days later we called to book her. What was great is that she was so flexible and after talking with us she helped us with a custom package that suited our needs and budget. She was super responsive...every time I had a question or asked for a referral she always got back to me right away. She helped build our timeline and even came to our rehearsal so she could see the venue and surroundings and get an idea of shots for the big day. That meant so much to me. I thought that was a really personal touch and gave me ease for the big day. On our wedding day Amy was professional, calm and sweet. She had such patience when dealing with our family photos and everyone wanting pictures. I have 3 kids and she was amazing at getting them to behave. She took some creative shots around our venue and made us feel so comfortable. We had so much fun and are so thankful for the beautiful images that we will cherish a life

Amy and Summer were outstanding from the start! We were planning a wedding from across the country and weren't able to meet Amy until just a few months before! Naturally with time ticking away, we wanted everything to be as perfect as possible, and she put us very at ease after our first meeting. Her style fit what my wife had in mind and she was even flexible for trying some different ideas. Amy is truly an artist and a fantastic businesswoman. Our products were sent within an exceptable timeframe I want to say within a few weeks. She was very good at keeping in touch and prompt and attentive throughout or experience. For you ladies worried about nightmare photographers all up in your face... Amy was NOT one of those. She was invisible the day of.

Truly a fantastic experience and I would recommend her to anyone!

Amy was awesome! We went to a bridal show in SLO and met several photographers. We narrowed our search to two vendors; Amy and one other. We aren't sure how it would have worked out with the other vendor but we cn definitely happy with Amy. The deciding factor for us when choosing Amy was the fact that she was willing to work with our budget. She had numerous option for us to choose from and tailored our package to meet our needs and means. Her assistant Summer was awesome and was fun to work with; she took some cool pics of the boys..

Amy was very attentive, listening to what we wanted. She was very communicative, she met with us before the wedding, and even came out to the site for the rehearsal to get a feel for the venue and wedding party. I wanted to extend a personal thanks to Amy Wellenkamp and her photography staff. My wife and I planned our wedding remotely and had a fair number of questions about logistics. Amy took the time to schedule a phone interview, asked about our interest, family and what we had in mind. She also had no issues with us having to juggle the schedule around a bit due to our two 11 month year old twins.

On the day of the event Amy and her staff were patient, fun and made sure that we got all of the pictures we wanted. Her staff was even bouncing around entertaining the twins for pictures :). They did a fantastic job of not being intrusive and blending into the event. My wife and I are super pleased with Amy, her staff and the pictures turned out perfectly. (even the sunset I requested from her showed up perfectly).

If you are looking for a event photographer I would highly recommend giving Amy Wellenkamp Photographers a call.

We could not have been anymore blessed to have Amy and Summer capture our big day! We were so lucky to have the chance to work with Amy, both for our engagement photos and the wedding. She is incredibly easy to work with and her calm nature and attentiveness to detail made the picture process such a breeze. What can you say about Amy Wellenkamp, but BRILLIANT!!!!! Amy takes the most wonderful and beautiful pictures. I was a complete joy working with her for our engagement and wedding photos. She is really a pro and makes sure you get all the shots you dreamed of. Her second shooter Summer is also wonderful, the groom and groomsmen felt at ease around her. They are NOT traditional cheesy wedding photographers. Her prices are very reasonable for the quality of work she offers. We will definitely take a trip to the Central Coast if we ever need family portraits taken. 100% recommended!!!!

Amy was absolutely fantastic. One of the things I appreciated about Amy right off the bat, was how calming she is. She knows what she's doing and does not make you feel rushed on your wedding day. Our photos are absolutely gorgeous, it is going to be so hard to choose. We've received so many compliments on what a great photographer she is and could not be happier with the results. Thank you Amy for helping make mine and Tim's day so special.

Amy and her second shooter Summer were amazing! We got to know Amy over our engagement session and her easy going style is very welcoming and calming on a stressful day like your wedding. This is by far the best photographer in the Central Coast!! Amy was so wonderful to work with and she is sooo good at what she does. She gives you guidance and direction but she also allows you to be yourself. Let me just say I typically hate taking pictures because I never like how they turn out but from the first time we met with Amy to do our engagement pictures I just fell in love with her and the way she made me look :) By the time the wedding came I knew she would make me look good but the reaction of my bridal party and guests was unbelievable! I probably had 20 different people come up to me and ask me how I found her and complimented her work. Amy is a doll and if you are getting married in the area she is the one to pick if you want to have amazing wedding pics!!

I had some difficulties with other things the day of and Amy was very helpful. She wasn't pushy or anything at delays but offered to help. She was open to ideas that my bridal party had and helped make us look the best possible. She worked with my budget wonderfully and checked in to see if their were other special shots that we wanted before people started leaving. I would highly recommend her.

From our engagement session to our wedding day Amy has been outstanding. We loved her style and ideas for different photos and we were pleased that she was able to capture great photos of our most important moments. We also felt that having two photographers on our wedding day was a bonus, it made it possible to capture both of us getting ready despite being in different locations. The final products were better than we even could have imagined, we definitely recommend Amy Wellenkamp photographers to everyone!!!!

My husband and I absolutely adored working with Amy Wellenkamp and her staff. Right from the start we felt at ease with Amy, she has such a welcoming and calming presence. She organized everything to a T, and made sure that any special requests were taken care of. The guests really enjoyed the slideshow that she displayed during the reception, and the "sneak peek" pics she emailed out. All the pictures turned out beautiful, and we can't wait to display them all over our house! :)

I'm mom of the bride! Amy did an incredible job on the engagement pics last spring, so we knew we would be very happy with wedding pics! Loved her patience and calming factor, and she was so fun to work with! She has such an eye for style and detail. The wedding was only 6 days ago, so we can't wait to see the pictures! I can't say enough positive things about Amy- she is fun, friendly, a blast to work with, and very patient- I don't know how she managed to handle my constant joker of a groom or our rowdy wedding party! And despite my discomfort in front of the camera, my groom's antics, and the craziness of our friends and families, Amy captured images that are timeless and breathtaking. Our engagement and weddings photos are exactly what we hoped- simple and sophisticated, while reflective of our personalities. It's been difficult for us to choose which pictures to display. We would hire Amy (and her second shooter Summer) again in a heartbeat!

We love Amy! And Summer! What we liked most about Amy is her understanding of her craft. Between the subtleties of capturing the perfect shot and making the uncomfortable feel comfortable in front of the camera, she has a real knack for getting exactly what you expect. I wish I could add more stars.... Amy is FABULOUS. She photographed my daughter's wedding at the Dana Powers House Barn, and we could not be happier with the results. Amy is AMAZING at what she does. I generally feel awkard getting my picture taken, but that awkwardness went away after meeting Amy for about 60 seconds. She just has a matter-of-fact way about her that makes you relax and forget you're getting your picture taken.

She photographed both my engagement session and wedding (which I recommend - you'll love the casual engagement photos of the two of you and it also gives her a chance to get to know you before the big day). She's great at communication (email or phone), reasonably priced (especially if you compare to other equally artistic photographers in the area), and is not overbearing on the big day.

Amy is especially great at knowing what looks good. She'll help you pick out what to wear, how to pose, and somehow gets amazing, natural photos in a seemingly very short period of time.

But best of all, she is very artistic. She's great at listening to you and finding great buildings, nature shots, etc. to bring interest, color, and art to your photos in a way that fits YOU.

The only down side is the huge chore of picking out favorites afterwards!

My husband and I are so glad that we chose Amy to photograph our wedding and engagement photos. We could not have found a more talented, warm, and knowledgeable person to capture the most memorable day of our lives thus far. Amy immediately made us feel comfortable and helped bring out our personalities in the photos that she took, she completely captured the spirit of our day with her photography (along with her second shooter, Summer Schmitz)which is exactly what we were looking for in our photographer. In addition to her amazing photos, Amy was a huge help behind the scenes on the wedding day (and even beforehand!)- I don't know what we would have done without her! I feel as though we have come away with beautiful memories, a new friend, and our future family photographer... I can't imagine using anyone else to capture our future milestones!

Amy was the perfect choice to photograph our wedding. We spent a long time trying to find the right photographer, and we could not have been more happy with our choice. Amy was absolutely amazing! She listened to our concerns for our wedding. We wanted alot of non posed shots and asked her to just capture the event as it happened. The photos she took captured the essence, warmth and feeling of the wedding. We had rain almost the entire day of our wedding and instead of taking photos inside, she used the beautiful gifts that the rain had left to capture photos! i am not sure many photographers could have adjusted to that!

She was amazing and I would suggest her to anyone I know. It is the little details that she captured that has captivated everyone who has viewed our wedding album...

Amy was amazing from start to finish! I was planning a wedding from out of state and had called several photographers that I had discovered in a wedding vendor magazine targeted for the Central Coast of California. From the first phone call I knew she was the right photographer for us. We instantly clicked! I had already reviewed some of her photos on her website and was impressed, but when we spoke on the phone it was obvious that she had a lot of pride in her work and loved what she did. Our engagement session gave us the opportunity to get to know her, so we wouldn't be nervous on our BIG DAY. She was so creative with every shot.

We were getting married at my family's ranch in Paso Robles, so we had to construct the site from scratch. Amy helped so much with the layout of everything and took time to make sure everything was perfect. She came out to their home to get some inspiration and plan how and where to get the best shots at that time of day before the wedding. Our wedding photos turned out awesome! We look at them often because they are just breathtaking!

Even after our wedding, Amy has been fantastic! We're putting our album together now and it is all so exciting! I would recommend her without any hesitation. We're even planning to have her shoot some photos of our family when the time comes!

I can't say enough about Amy. From start to finish, our experience with Amy and her assistant Summer was amazing. My husband and I planned a less traditional wedding, and Amy understood the environment we were trying to create from the very beginning. And the photos were more stunning than we ever could have imagined. Of all the vendors I worked with leading up to and on our wedding day, Amy Wellenkamp was by far my favorite. On our first meeting, I was very impressed with her photojournalistic work. She was able to not only capture the important details and faces of each wedding couple, but also the moments. She could retell the stories and meanings of the details in her photos from each of the couples perspectives. right away I knew she was a intensive listener who understood the importance of what each couple cared about. Her presentation of material both mine and additional clients was extremely organized and treated meticulously. I very much respected her attention to detail. When Amy gave me dates of when photos would be ready for viewing she made her dates promised, or notified me of a new date on the dates promised, without me needed to contact her. With all the details and follow ups a bride has to be on top of it was encouraging to have someone that was proactively responsive in her work and treated our wedding as significant as it was to us.

Amy is an amazing and creative photographer. Photography was one of the most important things to me for my wedding, having seen first hand, friends and family who had horrible experiences, i knew this was not an area i was willing to skimp on. We didnt have a very big budget to begin with, and once i contacted Amy, she was so flexible on what we could keep in the package and what we could cut out, making it affordable for us.
From the very first meeting when she did our engagement photos she made everything very relaxed and comfortable. We are not a couple who goes in front of the camera often or willingly at times, but i definately wanted these memories forever, and Amy's work is truely art.
She captured our wedding perfectly and i can't think of one complaint about anything. She was at every crucial moment and really didnt miss a thing. And even though we were running late, she made sure we got all of the shots in by the time the reception started and without compramising the quality.
She also had a second photographer during the first half of our wedding to make sure nothing was missed, and Summer was so sweet and also an amazing photographer. It was nice to know that we were in completely professional hands all day long (8 hours to be exact), and that the photography was one thing i wouldnt have to stress out about at all.

Amy Wellenkamp is one of the most creative and talented people I know. She has a great deal of attention to detail. She didn't miss beat at our wedding. Amy is a great photographer and we couldn't have been happier! She was very willing to work with us to get a plan that fit into our budget. She is a little pricey, but is definitely worth it. She had two photographers (herself and an assistant), so we got a ton of photos of everyone and all of them were really nicely done. Amy even asked if we had a preference for the style of photos we wanted and really matched her photos to the feel we were trying to get at the wedding. She was very good at directing us into natural positions, no stiff people! I think we ended up with about 400 great photos from the day. She even put all the photos on a disc in a beautiful case that I can put on my bookcase now. I would highly recommend Amy!

Amy is an AMAZING photographer! We had a very small wedding, and had debated whether we even wanted a professional photographer, but we are so glad we did! We got married out of town, so had to pick Amy and other vendors just off of reviews, not personal references, which is always a bit of a leap of faith. However we were put to ease with Amy within minutes of meeting her. She is very professional, and mellow as well, which makes it easy for her to tailor sessions to the couple's personality rather than her own. We also did an engagement shoot with her, which was a good idea, because it got us used to each other, and a bit more comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. Just got our wedding photos back and they are absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommended!
