Natural choice for a tiny wedding!
Despite our wedding being super small (just parents), it felt totally natural and breezy to have Amy join us. She was able to capture amazing, genuine shots and we always felt relaxed with her behind the lens -- which isn't always the case! It was rainy on our wedding day, so we were forced to hold the ceremony inside a community center-- there were eyesores everywhere you turned- (EXIT signs, ugly chairs...) but she managed to frame her shots so that it didn't look like we only paid $125 to rent the whole place ;) She has a great eye! She also had a pair of tiny scissors in her camera bag that saved me when I needed to cut a few strings off my dress! Always prepared!
We were floored by the final images she captured and really impressed with her turn-around time to delivery. Her client intake process was really professional and thorough, without feeling overwhelming. In short, Amy was awesome and we couldn't have been happier!Amy Donohue Photography's reply:

A wonderfully calming presence, while perfectly recordings our special day
Amy is the only person you should want to record your wedding day. She is the most calming presence on a day that can otherwise feel chaotic and stressed, and she recorded our wedding day in the most beautiful images we could have imagined. She captured all those pivotal moments and somehow captured them in their natural, candid state - with nothing feeling or looking forced or posed. I feel like her photos will allow us to relive the best parts of our wedding for so many years to come and I could not recommend her enough.Amy Donohue Photography's reply:

Amy is simply the best. Not only did she take breathtaking photos, but she was the most positive, professional, organized and helpful part of our planning process and wedding day. She kept us on schedule the entire day, kindly moving us along when we were running behind and building in time throughout the day to take a minute and relax. Looking through the gorgeous final gallery (which she also turned around very quickly), we were instantly transported back to the day and experienced all the incredible emotions all over again - the true sign of an amazing photographer.
When my husband and I were excitedly recounting the day, we both agreed: Amy was our favorite person we interacted with. Her presence was warm, calming, comforting, and she made everything fun while staying on task. Whenever she came up to us to explain what we needed to do next, we immediately felt like we could take a big, happy exhale - which we quickly realized is key on such a hectic and overwhelming day!

Amy is an absolute must have!
I truly cannot imagine our day without her. Her work speaks for itself. We are obsessed with each and every one of our photos. We put our full trust and faith in Amy and she did not disappoint. She has such an eye for the shot and is truly a master of her craft. Loving our photos was a huge part of it, but Amy went so above and beyond. It is so important to be comfortable with your photographer as they are by your side from the very beginning of the day and are essentially running the show. Amy did this effortlessly! We felt comfortable with her from our very first meeting. She was such a calming presence and her just being there helped alleviate a lot of our worries and stress. When my husband and I started to plan our wedding, I already knew that the two highest priority vendors on my list were photography and videography — such high priority that I would not finalize the date with my venue until I knew that I would be able to have my top choice vendors for the Big Day! We researched about a dozen photographers, including Amy, who was well known to our venue and thanks to her lovely blog, I just fell in love with her photographs for capturing the natural light and candid moments. I was thrilled to find out Amy was available for our tentative wedding date and I booked her immediately.
Fast forward to the wedding day. I have to echo the numerous other reviews that document how fabulous her personality is. We were immediately comfortable with her. She gave clear direct instructions and she was efficient. We never felt rushed throughout the day despite a very tight schedule and many moving parts. Nothing felt too posed and she gave us lots of opportunities for candid shots.
We got every photo we wanted and more. It’s nearly impossible to narrow down the number of photos we want printed in an album. We are so grateful to Amy for documenting our day.
One more little detail to think about when you book your photographer: her photography style avoids flashes and clicking that would have totally gotten in our videographers way. As I said, my videographer was my other highest priority and she worked so well with the videography team too!Amy Donohue Photography's reply:

Amy surpassed everything we could have hoped for in a wedding photographer! She is highly organized, quick to respond, friendly and fun. She made us feel extremely comfortable and relaxed on our big day, and her tools to keep us organized ahead of the wedding allowed us to move through our family and friend photos with enough time to enjoy cocktail hour, while still capturing the most beautiful images. The best decision we could have made for our wedding!
Where can I even start? Hiring Amy as our wedding photographer was the #1 best decision that was made for the whole wedding (other than picking the groom, of course!). Amy did our engagement photos in Vermont, and we were so in love with the whole process and the final product that asked her to travel to Louisville, KY to photograph our wedding. Not only is her work brilliant, but she has the most kind, calm, gentle personality, which is exactly what you need on your big day! In fact, the moment she showed up on our wedding day, I immediately relaxed and knew everything would be ok because she was there. She is incredibly organized, professional, and timely in everything she does. And above all, her pictures are truly art. I could brag on Amy and her work for hours, and it still wouldn't explain how special and talented she is. If you have a change to book Amy for your wedding, do it as soon as you can!!!Amy Donohue Photography's reply:

Harriet Sent on 09/08/2018From the moment we hired Amy she was a dream. We worked with her for our engagement photos as well as wedding. Amy has such a sweet and calming personality so we were instantly comfortable with her. At the same time, she was able to take control of the situation during our family portraits to keep things moving and get us to our party as quickly as possible. She gave us enough direction that we didn't feel or look awkward while still looking completely natural and like ourselves in our photos. She was very quick in turning around our sneak peeks and even our full albums were ready before we expected them to be. Honestly, I can't imagine anything else I could have asked for in a photographer and I can't recommend her highly enough. If I were doing it all over again I would hire her in a second.

Andrea Sent on 01/02/2018Hiring Amy was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. She did a phenomenal job and her second photographer was also wonderful. Amy is very easygoing and natural - I never felt like I was being put in funny fake poses...her style is more photojournalism than posed portraits. She put a lot of time into organizing our wedding day timeline, which was more important than I could have imagined - it's very important to stick to a timeline and have everything organized ahead of time, and she did this flawlessly. She is kind, easygoing, and above all, incredibly talented. She captured the joy and tone of the entire day very well. We are thrilled. Hire her!!
