Erica and her team at Amore Paraiso went above and beyond to make our destination wedding at El Mangroove in Costa Rica everything we imagined and more. From our first conversation through the wedding weekend, she was calm, thoughtful, and committed to making everything exactly how we envisioned it. She organized the welcome party, wedding day, transportation, and excursions, and her relationships with local vendors were invaluable while planning from afar.
Thanks to Erica, everything was even more magical than we imagined. Most importantly, on the wedding day itself, we were able to completely relax and enjoy every moment with our loved ones without worrying about a thing. We are so grateful for her guidance, expertise, and attention to detail, and would highly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding in Costa Rica. -

They always answered our emails and were always willing to set up FaceTimes if needed. We had complete trust in them and they delivered!! Our wedding was so perfect I can’t even put into words. When my husband and I decided we wanted to get married in Costa Rica we knew we would need a lot of help. Finding and hiring Erika and her Amore Paraiso team was our best wedding planning decision we made!
Erika and her team went above and beyond with everything. Her team met with us when we decided to come visit a year before the wedding to look at venues and go over details in person, even though this was out of the norm.
The wedding day design and flow was everything we asked for and more! The team made it feel very “us” and unique to our love story. Our family and friends are still talking about the design and florals months after our big day.
Erika pointed us in the right direction for vendor recommendations and we could not be happier with every vendor that was apart of our day.
Whenever an issue came up Erika and her team were on top of it, we hardly ever knew if there was a problem.

If you’re planning a destination wedding in Costa Rica, look no further than Amore Paraiso. From the moment we started working with Erika and her incredible team, we felt completely at ease. Planning a wedding from afar can be daunting, but they made every step not only manageable—but genuinely enjoyable.
Erika took the time to get to know us as a couple, and then brought our vision to life with thoughtful design choices and spot-on vendor recommendations. Every detail—from the venue options to the design to the schedule—was perfect. She was always available to meet, incredibly organized, and provided helpful visuals and information along the way that made it easy to stay on track and feel confident about every decision.
We also used their concierge service (huge shoutout to Adriana!) and it was an absolute game changer. They helped coordinate airport transportation for our guests (which everyone raved about), as well as group activities like a catamaran cruise, the rehearsal dinner, and the after-party. Our guests felt so well taken care of—and we did too.
The team was also incredibly thoughtful about our budget. Erika offered creative ideas and flexible options so we could make the most of what we had without ever feeling like we were cutting corners.

I really don't have the words for how grateful I am for Erika and Adriana. We did the destination wedding package, and I can't recommend this enough. Adriana handled all of our transportation to and from all events, plus she handled booking individual tours that the guests booked. Erika helped us find vendors and communicate with them. She helped designed a lot of the aspects of our wedding, and coordinating everything coming together absolutely perfectly on our wedding day. I didn't have to talk to a single vendor, and she got everything set up and ready to go. This was a wedding of 95 people with many vendors, and they handled all of it flawlessly. We got married at Pangas on February 1st, and hiring Erika and her team at Amore was, without a doubt, the best decision we made. Planning a destination wedding felt overwhelming at first, but Erika made it feel effortless.
As a Type A bride, I love a good plan—but Erika is on another level. She anticipated every detail before I even thought of it, completely understood my vision, and made sure that every event leading up to and including our wedding day was seamless. Because of her, I was able to be fully present and enjoy everything without a single moment of stress.
When I walked into the venue, I was floored!! It was beyond anything I had imagined, absolutely perfect in every way.
Beyond being incredibly organized, the Amore team is just awesome—so kind, fun, and genuinely great people. Erika doesn’t just plan weddings, she knows how to throw a PARTY. The timeline was seamless, everything flowed naturally, and nothing ever felt forced or overly structured. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful, well-run, and just flat-out amazing the whole weekend was.

After deciding on Costa Rica for our big day, I set up zoom interviews with several local wedding planners. Speaking with Erika for the first time I knew she and her team would be the perfect fit. Kind, energetic and knowledgeable throughout the whole process and truly brought our wedding dreams to life. She gave me a list of venue options and vendors and helped me choose all the best fits. I gave her all my wildest dreams and ideas (tropical disco vibes, a live band, dreamy beachside ceremony, bright tropical florals, interactive coconut wall to name a few…) and she brought them all to life and discussed a clear plan and budget along the way.
Adriana and the guest concierge team made sure all 80 of our guests arrived safely, had necessary transport, and she arranged all of our amazing excursions!!

We had a wonderful experience working with Erika and her team from Amore Parasio. We knew when we decided on a destination wedding that we needed a skilled local planner. When we met with Erika, she immediately understood our vision and needs and we knew right away she was the planner we wanted to choose. We did the full destination wedding experience including extra events (welcome dinner, catamaran) and it was worth every penny. Adriana on Erika's team organized all the logistics including payment collection, vendor communications, transportation to/from the events, and transportation to/from the airport for our guests. She was extremely accommodating and flexible as questions and changes came up. This made the whole process super smooth, and kept guest experience top of mind which is so important for ANY wedding, but especially a destination wedding in another country for guests.
Additionally, our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and the design was stunning. Erika made sure the day of ran smoothly, and I didn't have to worry about a thing. My dream wedding and planner!
Erika and her team were wonderful!! Throughout the whole process Erika was so calm and assured me we can make anything happen. It is hard to plan a wedding in a different country but Erika had the best recommendations and vendors. I couldn't have planned my wedding without her. All her organization aside, she has a real gift with design and the wedding was absolutely beautiful.
We opted to do the full travel concierge package and I have to give a special shout out to Adriana, she was such a big help organizing all of our group activities and travel. Multiple guests told me how wonderful she was to work with.

Erika simply exceeded all expectations in the organization of our wedding. Planning a destination wedding can be very challenging, and Erika made the process smooth like butter. She helped us organize 3 total events, and all went better than we could have possibly hoped.
Erika helped make the visions we had a reality - and this was no easy feat. We had many traditions and customs we wanted to capture in our events and Erika not only did her research about them but also went above and beyond to make sure they were captured perfectly.
Another thing about working with Erika - no matter how stressful the situation might get, she is always cool, calm and level-haded. Nothing phases her. If there is a problem, she will right away look for a solution. She also has been doing this for quite some time, so knows all the vendors and pros/cons of working with them.
Doing a destination wedding means having to trust the planner on the other side - in this case, we couldn't have fallen on a better planner. Highly recommend! Thanks again Erika and team! -

Erika, Adriana, Virginia, Melissa, and the rest of the team are trustworthy, professional, and pleasant to work with. Communication was always timely. The decorations and design were stunning. Erika has such good style! The wedding planning process was much easier and less stressful than we expected. My partner and I didn't have to do anything or make any decisions on wedding day, which allowed us to relax and focus on the celebration. Having a destination wedding can be anxiety inducing, since we didn't get to see our venue or sample anything from the vendors ahead of time. Erika was amazing. She was in touch with our daughter throughout the planning. It’s hard to trust someone will plan your wedding from afar(Los Angeles) but Erka was amazing. Absolutely Excellent
I could say Amore Paraiso Weddings gave me the wedding of my dreams, but that would be an understatement. My wedding was better than I could have ever imagined thanks to Amore Paraiso. When we first started planning, I told Erika I didn't have any spare time for wedding planning. I made a pinterest board and filled out her questionnaire and she took it from there. She turned my scattered ideas into a beautiful reality. I could go on for hours about her amazing sense of design, but I should also mention her other great qualities. She was always available for video chats and quick to respond to emails. She was extremely flexible with my changing and crazy ideas (I changed my mind on wedding locations from one area of the country to the other multiple times) and even travelled over 5 hours several times to check out venues for me. I ended up choosing to have the wedding at a pretty remote location with no vendors in the area. She met with all the vendors, handled all contract negotiations, and arranged travel for them to my location. I never felt the need to go to Costa Rica during the planning process, as she sent plenty of pictures and slideshows of her progress. We started planning long before the pandemic and had the wedding in Feb 2021. She kept me up to date, not only on the Costa Rica travel restrictions, but also on the US restrictions! She arranged COVID tests for all our guests (requirement to re-enter US) and she even helped plan our excursions after the wedding. I was stress-free the entire time, and, if Erika was stressed, she certainly did not show it. She was always kind, professional, and so so sweet. The morning of the wedding, Erika got a serious eye injury, but she never stopped. The wedding of my dreams come to life, thanks to Erika @ Amore Paraiso!
If I could go back and re-do anything about our wedding, the only thing I would change is hiring Amore Paraiso (Erika) even SOONER. Getting married in Costa Rica has always been my dream, and seeing the complete attention to every detail on our list was phenomenal! I felt like I was in a movie, and still to this day, 4 months post-wedding, have people tell me that they never have, and probably never will, attend as gorgeous of a wedding as ours was. And it was all thanks to Erika!
She was able to coordinate everything remotely from Costa Rica (we live in Canada) and executed every detail perfectly- from finding us the perfect venue, to flower arrangements, boho accents and twinkle lights, and even lighting our favorite incense during the ceremony and reception! it was a complete fairy tale of a day/night.
I could not recommend Erika and Amore Paraiso more. She made everything so easy for my husband and I, we were able to be completely in the moment the entire day, soaking in the beauty of Costa Rica and our close friends and family. 12/10 stars from me would not be enough. I am so thankful for Erika!! Planning a wedding from a distance can be no easy job and everyone said it would be super stressful but I never felt that once with Erika. It was such a smooth easy process because she handled everything!! Not only was my wedding day beyond everything I could imagine down to every detail. She helped me with so many other things like planning activities and how to get around. My wedding was the best wedding I have ever been too! From the detailing of the floral arrangements to the table settings to the band and then the food! It was an absolute dream, I don't know how but she somehow got into my head and read my mind! She is prompt with her emails and on top of all the tasks. She even took on helping me find a place to stay while I was out there. I seriously could rant and rave about her forever!! After all the planning and all the preparation, when I got into Tamarindo and met Erika, she was even more personable in person. She was so calm and in control that it made my whole trip so easy going and relaxing. Imagine that! A relaxing wedding weekend!! When we decided that we wanted a destination wedding in Costa Rica, we interviewed a number of local planners before we decided to go with Erika and are we so glad that we chose her! We had 6 months to plan the wedding and with both of us having demanding jobs in the US, Erika made time for us on weekends and quickly responded to our sometimes late night e-mails. She made us feel at ease with the entire remote planning process, keeping us up-to-date with all the milestones. She keenly listened to our ideas and materialized our vision so precisely, we could not be more happy!
Her proposal was professional and tailored to fit the budget we gave her perfectly! When we arrived in Costa Rica, only a couple of days before the big day, she walked us through the timeline and venue area and her professionalism made us even more confident that we made the right choice! On the day of the wedding, there was tons of coordination among the vendors as well as organisation of our guests which all seemed effortless for her! All of the vendors that she recommended truly lived up to our expectations! She kept us both calm through it all and our wedding day was like a fantasy, what we call absolutely Pinterest worthy haha. My wife and I are from Florida so a destination wedding can be stressful out of the country. Erika continually texted us with whatsapp for approval of details for about a month before our event. It was on the beach of Playa Flamingo in Guanacaste although we had slight rain the event tents and dynamic action on Erika’a part made our event unfazed. CocoLoco helped us save money on the event tent rental that can be upwards of 2K. Jean Luc (CocoLoco chef) coordinated with Erika for the reception and fireworks after sunset. Our wedding turned out better than we could have ever expected and we are grateful for Erika and her team for helping make the planning process go smoothly. We loved all of our vendors and were grateful for Erika's recommendations to help make sure our day went off without a hitch! We LOVED working with Adriana and many of our guests were grateful to have help in planning transportation. Our catamaran tour was also a huge success thanks to her kindness and support.
Our only small issue throughout the process was in response time via email and not receiving our design when expected however this did not impact the planning process. We are both type A and can be quite anxious and we wish we set up more video calls to check in and ease our worries as whenever we did we were assured everything was going to plan and on schedule. We also wish we had more of a menu to choose some design items to help us craft our design but trusting Erika with his took a lot off our plate; she was open to our suggestions and requests and she brought our vision and feel to life!

We hired Amore Paradiso, Erika, to serve as our “boots on the ground” for our destination wedding in Costa Rica. Erika is warm, kind, and clearly passionate about weddings. She brought thoughtful ideas to the table and had a strong creative vision throughout the design process. Our wedding day ultimately came together beautifully, and we are grateful for that.
That said, the overall planning experience did not reflect the level of structure, communication, and proactivity we had hoped for in a full-service destination planner.
Throughout our planning journey, communication with Erika was often delayed, and we frequently needed to send follow-up emails to receive responses or updates. Vendor confirmations and design details came together very close to the wedding date, which created unnecessary stress, especially while planning from afar. Our finalized timeline was shared only three days before the wedding. We were told this was due to missing song selections - however, a working timeline can be created without finalized music.
Vendor guidance was also more limited than expected. For example, we were initially provided with only one catering recommendation and ultimately sourced our own caterer. As a destination couple, we had hoped for more comprehensive local direction, pricing options, and curated options.
The most difficult moment for us was learning at 6pm the night before the wedding that Erika, the lead planner, would not be present on the wedding day. While we understood her not being present on our wedding day was a possibility from when we signed our contract with her, we expected that information to be communicated much further in advance. The short notice added avoidable stress so close to the event.
On the wedding day, there were a few notable execution gaps. Cocktail hour food was not served until roughly 30 minutes in, and it wasn’t until I, the bride, noticed that food was not being passed that the issue was rectified. This should have been flagged from the planning team. Additionally, a lack of communication between the vendor team after our first dance resulted in guests being seated instead of opening the dance floor as planned, creating an awkward lull. When addressing that issue, I was asked how I wanted to proceed, which felt difficult as a bride hoping the planning team would confidently manage transitions and vendor operations.
One bright spot in our experience was working with Adriana, our wedding concierge. Adriana's role was to help with the events and activities outside of the wedding day itself - welcome party, after party, accommodations, and transportation. Adriana was consistently responsive, organized, and solution-oriented. She provided multiple options for our welcome party and after-party events, and she was extremely helpful with coordinating room blocks and transportation logistics for our guests. Our experience working with her felt smooth and supportive, and we truly appreciated her professionalism and follow-through.
Again, the day itself was beautiful, and we appreciate the creativity and effort that went into bringing it together. However, couples seeking a highly structured, communication-forward, full-service planning experience - especially for a destination wedding - should ensure expectations around responsiveness, design timeline, vendor management, and day-of leadership are clearly defined from the beginning.
