Very talented and has the best personality!

Amanda is wonderful! She is incredibly talented, professional, and such a fun person! She is very laid back and has a great personality that makes you feel right at home with her. I had planned on working with another makeup vendor that ended up not working out and was able to secure Amanda very last minute which I feel very lucky about. She made me feel like a movie star. My makeup looked fantastic from the time she finished in the late morning until the end of our reception. I am SO happy to have had Amanda as my makeup artist on my wedding daily, I will absolutely recommend her!

Amazing Makeup Artist

I loved having Amanda do the makeup for my wedding day! She did the makeup for myself and my bridesmaids. She was a true professional and we had so much fun getting ready with her. She really elevated the day and everyone looked amazing! I loved the extra touches like the lashes but I always felt like (the best) version of myself!

Amazing makeup artist

Amanda was amazing! Not only is she an incredibly talented make up artist, she is so fun and kind. My bridesmaids, mother, and I all felt so beautiful. I am so happy we were able to hire her and would HIGHLY recommend her. She is doing my best friend's wedding next summer and I can't wait to get make up done by her again. We all wanted natural make up but had different levels of comfort wearing makeup which she accommodated perfectly. A must hire!

If you want to feel beautiful and confident, book with Amanda ASAP

I was lucky enough to have Amanda do my spray tan a couple days before my wedding, and she did makeup for me, my mom, and my four bridesmaids on the day of my wedding. Amanda is the definition of a pro. I'll start with the spray tan - I was nervous as anything since I'd never had one before, but Amanda made sure I was comfortable and happy the entire time. She told me exactly how to stand, how to turn, and what was about to happen. I followed her directions for tan maintenance to the letter and I'm pleased to report that my tan stayed beautiful through the end of my mini-moon over a week after the initial application. For the wedding makeup - 11/10. Amanda arrived that morning with an amazing amount of makeup in her kit and was able to flawlessly match each differing skintone in my bridal party. Her fun upbeat personality and encouragement were exactly what we needed that morning. Each of us felt so so pretty and even my makeup hating mom really loved her look. Amanda made sure that my makeup stood up to a full day of tears, smiles, laughs, sweating, and constant photos, without feeling painted on or cakey. My makeup was flawless the entire day, and I felt more beautiful and confident than I ever have in my life. I know its cliche, and a woman is more than her makeup, but on your wedding day you want to feel like you're the prettiest woman in the world - Amanda's work helped me feel that way. I'm confident she would make you feel like that too.

Simply amazing! I could not imagine working with anyone else on my wedding day. She is a pro, funny, honest, and flexible, not to mention always on-time and organized!

Amanda helped me decide on my look to match my wedding vision during the trial. Notably, she helped me navigate through all of the options that would compliment my complexion and make me feel beautiful.

She did my make up for my NYE wedding weekend, including the rehearsal dinner and wedding day. I had a large wedding party and a long day ahead of us, so she was early, brought high energy, and organized to make the day of glam, fun and on schedule. Our makeup was flawless and lasted all day and night!

Book Amanda!

I am so happy that I went with Amanda and her team. I had my trial with her in May, and I got married in December 2019. Amanda even helped transform my brows! I went to her once a month between the trial and my wedding. She became one of my friends over the last 6 months.

During the day of the wedding, Amanda was professional, kind and warming. She and her team made every girl look and feel beautiful. Amanda knew exactly what to say when she could tell I was getting overwhelmed during the morning. I was going for a winter, vintage, glam look for our wedding at the Boston Harbor Hotel. She definitely delivered.

When I was going through the process of hiring my vendors and looking at all the reviews, I was really turned off by the fact that every vendor had a perfect rating. I thought there is no way every vendor can have a 5-star review. I wanted the truth! But the truth is, Amanda is a complete rock star and deserves every 5-star rating she receives.

I cannot thank Amanda enough for being a part of my day. I feel so lucky that I was able to work with such a professional, kind and overall great person on the day of my wedding.

I absolutely love Amanda! From the moment we met at the trial, to the day of, she was wonderful to work with. She is so much fun and truly wants you to look your best, while feeling your best, and still feeling like yourself on the big day. She was super flexible and went with me when I changed my look from my trial to the wedding day. She was honest and wanted my look to match the venue, which I super appreciated. She was extremely professional by coming in and setting up (an incredible set up with mirror, large light, all of her makeup laid out, large comfortable chairs) without us even knowing she was there! She made me laugh the entire time as well as making me feel so beautiful inside and out. I heard every single one of my bridesmaids compliment how professional Amanda and her associate were. They asked questions that all of my bridesmaids super appreciated and stated they have never been asked by a makeup artist before - such as allergies, skin sensitivities, and their comfort with makeup. Amanda was a very welcome addition to our morning and felt like one of us, not just a vendor. I would 100% hire her again and have already recommended her to future brides.

Five-Star Glam Squad for weddings or anything you want to be beautiful for!

Amanda is the best! She is the person you, your bridal party, and family will want to be around the day of your wedding. I was feeling anxious and a little ill from nerves the day of the rehearsal and the morning of the wedding, but Amanda was a calming and kind presence to be around, and she helped to put me at ease. Not only that, but she does a great job with makeup: She can do whatever look you’re going for, with a great talent for doing natural but glam looks that will work great for photos. Amanda did the makeup for my engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day, and I couldn’t be happier with her work. She has a great variety of high quality products, is knowledgeable about makeup and the newest trends and products. She is receptive to any ideas you have, in addition to being creative. Her and her team were great for taking care of myself and my bridal party and keeping us on time - she was especially great with our two flower girls who were fighting over who got to get their makeup done with her first! Thank you for all your hard work, Amanda!

PS - As a former LA-based spray tan lover who has struggled to find a great spray tan in Maine, I’ve also gone traveled to her adorable studio in York several times for spray tans, and I’d highly recommend her for those as well!

I was so fortunate to work with Amanda on my wedding day. She is unbelievable, both as a person and as a makeup artist. When I met her at my trial, I felt an instant connection. Amanda is such a pleasure to work with! Leading up to the wedding she was always readily available via email. On my wedding day she arrived early and skillfully took care of my bridal party of 7, MOB and MOG plus me, with the help of her incredibly talented assistant Lacey. She is absolutely masterful and made me and my girls feel absolutely gorgeous on the wedding day. She is hilarious and so much fun to have around while getting ready. My make up was applied around 1130 in the morning and looked flawless until I took it off at 2 am, literally required no touch ups for over 12 hours. She provides airbrush and lashes and she has such a good eye for what works for each member of the bridal party. Could not have imagined more perfect bridal makeup and she is just such a lovely and warm person!

When selecting vendors for my wedding, it did not occur to me just how important the people doing my hair and make-up would be: they are are with you during the most exciting moments of anticipation and help set the stage for the rest of the evening.

Amanda could not have been more amazing: calm, funny, humble, and flexible. I felt like myself, simply enhanced by make-up. My look lasted all evening, even through outdoor photos in the snow! She was also able to work with skin sensitivities of family members. And I cannot imagine spending those few hours before my first look with my now-husband with anyone else.

Amanda is amazing! Amanda and one other makeup artist did the makeup for myself, 8 bridesmaids, and 2 mothers. Everyone loved their makeup and looked polished but natural.
Amanda also gave me a spray tan for me the week of my wedding. It was was my first time getting a spray tan, and it looked completely natural the day of the wedding!

I heard about Amanda McCarthy Beauty from a word of mouth referral and couldn't be happier! Her lead stylist, Lacey, traveled to our hotel to do make-up for me, my bridesmaids, mom, and mother-in-law, and you can't find a make-up artist with a better personality! Beyond her very clear talents (check out her portfolio!), Amanda has been such a pleasure to work with. Amanda did makeup for my wedding in Lincoln, MA on July 5, 2014. She did makeup for me and for most of my bridesmaids. She did an amazing job and we all received so many compliments on our makeup. The makeup also stayed on all night through tears, laughter, dinner and dancing - it stayed put. In fact, I passed out that night without washing my face and woke up still looking amazing! She is a self-professed makeup junkie and has an amazing collection of products to suit every style, skin type and personality. I would recommend her to anyone and use her again in a heartbeat. I loved woking with Amanda. Not only did she and her partner make us all look beautiful but she really helped defuse stress in the hotel room and saved the day by being the only one able to zip the tricky bridesmaid dress zippers. There is literally no one out there as great as Amanda and her team! She has gentle products that allow you to feel glamorous and gorgeous without the feeling of having lots of makeup on. She has truly mastered the art of natural makeup to present the most beautiful version of YOU! She is also the most fun loving, witty and genuine person--and a blast to spend your afternoon with before your big day! I cannot say enough positive things--Amanda is the best! :)

Amanda is absolutely wonderful! I hired Amanda for wedding makeup- she did a fantastic job. She was extremely professional but also very yet warm and friendly. I felt like I was in great hands! I showed her a photo of what I was going for and she did exactly what I asked. Her makeup was flawless, she really is a true artist. My makeup also stayed perfectly throughout the whole night. I have already recommended her to friends and would highly recommend her to anyone for any special event!

I don't even know where to start besides to say that if you choose any other make up artist besides Amanda, you're making a mistake! Amanda was amazing from day one; responsive to my emails, flexible in scheduling, patient with my mind changing re the look I wanted, and even agreed to glamify my crazy bridal party of 12 bridesmaids. On the day of my wedding, she was a lifesaver. She will be the person with you in the last crazy moments before you put your dress on, & you will be so thankful it is her in front of you telling you to ignore the craziness in the background, take a deep breath, and soak it all in. She is right - so listen to her!

I recommend Amanda whole heartedly and without any hesitation - she is the best in the business. I still can't believe the absolute Magic she worked on me, and will continue to use Amanda as my go to lady whenever I need to feel as beautiful as she made me feel on my wedding day!

Amanda was GREAT. I can't say enough wonderful things about her. Her makeup was perfect and somehow lasted the entire night. I looked like myself but way more beautiful (without looking like I had a ton of makeup on), but beyond that she was so professional and so nice. Just the kind of person you want to have around you the day of your wedding.

Amanda was AMAZING!! I contacted her less than a month before my wedding to do me and the wedding party's make up. I had hired someone else and after doing the trial, was terrified to even think about using her on the most important day of my life. I was frantically looking for someone that was available on such short notice. I was given Amanda's name from my photographer and I was able to quickly get an appointment with her for a trial. She did an amazing job! I loved every thing about her style, her personality...I wish I could have her do my make up everyday! Thank you so much Amanda for making me feel so beautiful on my special day :)

Amanda did fantastic job with make-up for my wedding party and myself. She took a lot of time with each person to ensure they were happy and really paid attention to detail. She also worked hard to find make up that wouldn't make my eyes water on my big day. Amanda is also super conscientious and very calming to be around, great for nervous brides :)

Amanda has such a gift for makeup and really makes you look like the best version of you. She also did my mother's and my sister's makeup and all of us looked amazing. Our makeup stayed on the entire night.

Of course I was stressing with all the details the week prior to the wedding and had a little blemish on my chest and one on my back (I was so embarrassed!) but Amanda was so professional and reassured me she'd take care of everything. Well she did! Everything looked flawless and you wouldn't have had a clue in the photos that I had any blemishes at all (and that's without photoshop!)

I also saw Amanda for a spray tan the day before the wedding as I didn't have any other time that week to have it done. The tan came out perfectly and did not streak on my dress.

I had done a trial with a different makeup artist months prior and hated it, I didn't look like myself at all and the makeup felt so heavy, it was airbrushed. I was convinced that I would want airbrushed makeup but the way Amanda does it (not airbrushed), your makeup will not budge the entire night and still looks natural and doesn't have that gross, heavy feeling. She also does amazing work with individual lashes. I wish she could do my makeup everyday! Her prices are great too, worth every penny not having to check yourself in the mirror the entire day and night (you won't have the time too anyhow!).

I was the Maid-of-Honor for a wedding this past April and I highly recommend Amanda McCarthy for wedding makeup application and for spray tanning. From the very start, Amanda was quick to respond to the bride's email and schedule a trial. She was able to incorporate the bride's wishes and still give her a professional look for the big day. Amanda was on-time and very calm on our busy wedding day. She did a beautiful makeup application for the bride, me (maid of honor), and the mother of bride, and Amanda stayed on schedule. Her fantastic personality kept the mood light and calming, and we also had a few laughs! I also suggest a spray tan with Amanda to add an extra glow for the big day! I don't normally do a spray tan, but the look was so natural that I'm planning on making it a regular visit throughout the summer.

I highly recommend Amanda McCarthy beauty.

Amanda was absolutely amazing. I felt beautiful and confident for my wedding thanks to Amanda's artistry and talent. She was able to enhance my features but still make me look natural and pretty. I felt like I looked like myself, just better! I also didn't feel like I had layers of makeup on my face. In fact, the makeup turned out so beautiful I was so sad to wash it off. Amanda listens to what you want and truly is able to make that happen. The trial was so fun and relaxing. She explained all the products she was using and why she was using them. I have very sensitive skin and she made sure everything she used would be ok for me. On my wedding day she was so calm and just did her magic. She also did my bridesmaids and my mother's makeup. They too all looked beautiful. I could not have been more thrilled with the way my makeup looked. The pictures also looked amazing. I would recommend Amanda to any bride who wants to look and feel the most beautiful she ever has on her wedding day.

I can't say enough good things about Amanda! Working with her was like working with a friend, not a vendor. She listens to what you want and offers her suggestions. She takes into account your personal style and your comfort level with makeup and then makes you look gorgeous! She did my makeup, my moms makeup and 5 bridesmaids the day of the wedding - never took a break, and was smiling the entire time. Amanda is simply amazing! She came highly recommended to me by a good friend for wedding makeup and I'm so thankful! Amanda planned a trial session with my Mom and I and we loved her and her work immediately. She gave us some wonderful recommendations to prep for the day of and I didn't want to take my trial makeup off! On the wedding day she was amazing. So sweet with all of my bridesmaids and my Mom and Mother-in Law. We looked amazing and my makeup lasted ALL night long even through oily skin, tears, and dancing! It looked flawless! I also love Amanda's ability to keep makeup looking so good but still very real. I had so many people comment on how beautiful my makeup was and that I still looked like myself, which is exactly what I wanted. Also both of the mothers looked stunning! Amanda and her staff came to my grandmothers house before the wedding and did the most amazing job for myself as the bride, my mom, my sister as maid of honor, and all 9 of my bridesmaids. She is extremely professional and fun at the same time. She put me completely at ease and my make-up session with her before the craziness of the day began was one of my favorite parts of the day. Amanda did a wedding I was in 2 weeks before mine and I felt amazing at that wedding. Her work is very fresh and natural. She listens to her clients and takes pride in making you look like the best version of yourself. On my big day, it was so nice to be able to sit back and relax, trusting her skills. Amanda is incredible. I never imagined I would find such a perfect makeup artist for my wedding! Not only is she sweet and committed to making your day perfect, she brings expertise and experience with suggestions ahead of time to prep you for the big day.
I cannot say enough about Amanda's skill. She works absolute magic! It was like having a Hollywood professional for a wedding day makeup artist. All of my unmarried bridesmaids- who have experience having their makeup done for weddings- have already asked if they can use her for their weddings, too.
She did mine, my mother's, and 5 bridesmaids' makeup on the day of the wedding. She works efficiently within the timeframe created ahead of time, while still paying careful attention to detail on everyone.
Pricewise, Amanda's rates seemed comparable to others out there (I searched weddingwire when compiling my list).
Trust me- Amanda is the incredible and I recommend her with the highest of confidence and enthusiasm for anyone out there. She will make you and your wedding party look more beautiful that you ever imagined on your wedding day!

Working with Amanda was lovely! I felt gorgeous on my wedding day and my two cousins who also had their makeup done were absolutely glowing. Amanda came out to my home to do a makeup trial during a snowstorm, and we live pretty far apart! She answered all my questions and was flexible and punctual. I also just liked working with her! I can't say enough great things about Amanda. I had 3 other makeup trials before going to Amanda. Needless to say (headed to my 4th appointment) I was feeling discouraged and didn't know if I'd ever find someone who would be able to give me what I was looking for. A glammed up version of myself, coverage but not anything thick and obvious for a day time wedding.

Every artist I had met with prior to Amanda asked me to pin pictures on Pinterst so they could get an idea of what I was looking for. Amanda was the only person who actually looked at my pins. The other artist told me that they hadn't gotten around to it or asked me to pull it up when I got there. Since Im not a big Pinterest person it annoyed me that I went through the trouble of making a Pinterest account and they didn't look at.
Amanda got it right and my worries were over!!! No smoky eye (love it on others but it's not me) no bright red lips. Just what I asked for but better than I imagined!!! I have Melasma (brown spots) and I was worried that it would show up in our day time photo's and sunset ceremony. Being out in the natural light was the biggest concern I had. I didn't want to look like I had a lot makeup on. She pulled it off beautifully!

All of my family members who got their makeup done were soooo happy!!! Everyone looked amazing and for some it was the first time they wore eyelashes, so they felt glamorous and beautiful! It was a great experience to spend time with the women in my family and I owe it to Amanda! Having beautiful makeup on changes the way you carry yourself. Everyone was feeling beautiful and confident that day thanks to Amanda!
One of my friends came up to me during the reception and asked if we could have Amanda come over for a girls night and we'd all get our makeup done and go out for a girls night! Sounds great to me!

Amanda is an amazing makeup artist! I had a trial done with her and knew that she was a professional at what she did and that I would love for her to do my makeup on my wedding day. She was very helpful throughout the process of deciding how my makeup should be done considering that I'm not used to wearing much makeup. Although, I wanted to use a pop of color on my lips that was very different for me, but it worked out beautifully. One of the other things I loved about Amanda is that she provided consultation for my sensitive skin to prep it for my wedding day. Not only can she do FABULOUS makeup but she was also a bride once, and gave me bridal advice that helped me on that day. I couldn't have asked for a nicer person to be part of my wedding day preparations, and I HIGLY recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and professional makeup artist.

I would highly recommend Amanda to anyone who wants a natural but beautiful make-up look for their wedding. I’m the type of bride who was reluctant to have my make-up done professionally, since I don’t like the look of heavy make-up and am always hesitant to try anything beyond my “go to” day-to-day make-up. Amanda did an INCREDIBLE job of making my bridal make-up look natural while upping the glam factor just enough for me to feel extra special on the big day. The make-up looked gorgeous in pictures, and I got tons of compliments on it. Amanda was also a pleasure to work with – she was so flexible and responsive (always answered emails within hours!), full of creative ideas but very careful about making sure she understood my style and vision before she got to work. Amanda McCarthy is a true professional who has mastered her craft. She was a pleasure to work with and really easy going. I loved my makeup because she knew exactly what to do with very little input by me. On my wedding day, guests would come up to me and say, "Tricia, your makeup looks beautiful and you still look like yourself." That was the best compliment I could receive! I especially liked how my makeup looked in pictures, very natural and it held up well throughout my wedding day.

Amanda is also very dedicated. I recall I wanted to get my makeup done for my rehearsal dinner as well, but was running so far behind I was afraid I was going to have to cancel. Amanda was so committed that she actually came to me! She got in her car on a Friday afternoon and drove all the way from the South Shore (in rush hour traffic) to my hotel in Boston!

Not only was I impressed with Amanda, but so was my bridal party. For example, my Maid of Honor was in 3 other weddings that summer and she said hands down, Amanda did the best job out of all the make up artists.

Amanda has done my makeup about ten times now. My wedding day was such a success that I have had her do my makeup for all my big events. Every experience has been nothing but top notch service. She has made me look beautiful for every event. Amanda has a way of making you feel special and gives you makeup tips as she applies, which I love. If there were 10 stars, I would hand them all happily to Amanda. She is hands down the consummate professional and a true miracle worker! First, her makeup techniques and products are amazing. I first sought out her services for my wedding, but have since used her for several photo shoots for my business. Each time she delivers and knows exactly what will work best. Secondly, she is just a joy to be around. In those pre-wedding moments it was really wonderful to have someone doing my makeup who could make me laugh and set me at ease. She is just great. I am happy to have worked with her and hopefully will have many more reasons to call her in the future! I heard about Amanda from a friend who also used her, and after doing the make-up trial I was sold. Amanda was such a pleasure to work with! She was responsive, helpful, and is so skilled at making people look their best! I LOVED my wedding makeup - it was just the perfect balance of natural and glam, and I got so many compliments. My event was my wedding and Amanda was absolutely amazing, my make up was exactly what I had envisioned for that day. I did 2 trials with Amanda (I don't usually wear a lot of makeup, this was more for me to digest!) and Amanda took photos so you can look and decide on things you want to change, so that you look how you pictured on your big day! I knew I wanted a little extra drama to my eyes (without looking trashy) and she got it just right! I got the wedding-appropriate smokey eye I was hoping for, for my nighttime wedding, along with the appearance of a near perfect complexion which is so necessary for pictures!

In addition to my makeup, Amanda did all five of my 'maids and my mother. Everyone was so happy with their makeup! I definitely did not want cookie cutter bridesmaids, so Amanda made sure everyone got the look they wanted, while still keeping it wedding classy.

Along with her terrific makeup artist skills, Amanda is just a lovely person. I thought the BIG DAY could be a little stressful, so it was important to me to have wonderful people around me that day. Amanda is calming, yet funny, knows the process, and knows just how to calm a bride's nerves. I'm so happy to have had her be a part of my special day!

Amanda is amazing! She did my make-up for my wedding and gave me exactly what I wanted. I wanted my make-up to look special but didn't want to look really made up. Amanda got exactly what I meant and did a beautiful job! My make-up looked elegant but understated and my skin looked flawless in photos because of her work.

I actually later used Amanda for another occasion when I was feeling a little more adventuresome. I asked her to do a smokey-eye look for a formal evening wedding I was attending and I was equally impressed and satisfied with this very different look. She is versatile and listens to what you want.

On top of being a very talented make-up artist she is also incredibly professional and fun to have around on your special day!

I would recommend Amanda, and have, to anyone looking for a make-up artist for any occasion!

Amanda is amazing! She not only made me look beautiful for my wedding day but made the whole experience so fun and comfortable. She was completely professional while making all of us in the wedding party feel like we had been friends with her forever. I would highly recommend her!

Amanda was the perfect fit as a makeup artist. She has such an amazing depth of knowledge and was completely open to my suggestions. I loved the way my makeup came out and was complimented on how natural it looked. I would use Amanda again in a heartbeat!

Amanda was absolutely fantastic to work with. Not only is she talented, she's extremely down to earth (a nice bonus for an otherwise stressful day). I'm pretty clueless when it comes to makeup so I gave her creative liberty - glad I did! It's so easy for wedding makeup to look overdone, that was not the case here. Everyone's makeup turned out awesome and held the entire night. Lacey was great too, it was so much fun getting ready for the big day with these ladies!

Amanda was awesome to work with. The first makeup trial I was unhappy with the look but that being said, Amanda completely turned it around and worked together with me to help identify what I wanted. She suggested I use Pintrest to make a board of what I liked, and then followed up with great questions i.e. "what do you like about this picture?" to really understand what I had in mind! She was extremely flexible with her schedule - I was travelling to Boston from Kentucky and my windows of time were small, but she made it work. My sisters (bridesmaids) looked absolutely phenomenal and so did I, if I do say so myself! Thanks Amanda!

One of the best decisions for our big day- Amanda was kind, helpful and extremely responsive. All of my bridesmaids and MOH kept raving about the quality of service and talent Amanda exhibits. Amanda is wonderful. She completely understood my vision for what I wanted to look like on my wedding day, and she executed the look perfectly. She made me feel completely at ease throughout the planning process and the big day, even when she was airbrush tanning me, and I was nearly naked!

Amanda was recommended to me by my hair stylist, Gina Joubert. I was SO happy that I chose her. She was so friendly, and easy going. She made me super comfortable. I could not stop shaking on my wedding day, and she flawlessly still could put on individual eyelashes all while trying to get me to calm down. Amazing! Every girl looked absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Professional, on time, and takes great pride in work. Took time to explain what she (Michelle, my makeup artist) was doing every step of the way and asked for my input as she went. Also very calming which helped me relax the day of my wedding! And she made sure I looked perfect! Wonderful to work with both Amanda and Michelle. Highly recommend.
