    Alpine Wedding 2022

After having our dream wedding go up in flames (literally, our Smoky Mountain wedding venue burnt to the ground) three weeks before our wedding date, we luckily found The Alpine Park and Garden LLC. Barry and Fa’tima showed us so much empathy and worked out a wonderful deal for us. Their generosity and flexibility along with their guidance turned our tragic situation into the best possible alternative imaginable. Barry and Fa’tima were easy to work with and made our family and friends feel right at home.

    The Best of Mid-Missouri!

There is no better venue in Mid-Missouri... period. The rooms for the bride and groom's parties were perfect for getting ready in before the wedding. We felt so relaxed and accommodated. We had expectations of a fairy tale wedding, and our expectations were exceeded! We opted for the fireworks and were not let down! Thank you to Barry and his crew for making our special day even more special than we thought it could be.

Our wedding day in early September was absolutely perfect! Barry and his staff provided the venue, catered dinner, staffed the bar, and orchestrated a fantastic firework show at the end of the night. We brought our own libations and selected outside vendors for photography, flowers, DJ, photo booth, and dessert.

The venue is charming and fun with plenty of places to walk and explore. There are many places that work perfectly for interesting photos. Less adventurous guests will spend all of their time at the amphitheater for the ceremony or the reception shelter, which are clean, organized and cute. The amphitheater for the ceremony is naturally beautiful and fit our 110 guests perfectly. The shelter for the reception is equipped with a full bar, place for DJ booth, counters for standing and chatting, everything you need. There are many places for kids to explore including trails, ponds, and a swing set.

Barry catered dinner with a fajita bar. It was a hit with all of our guests. Delicious, entertaining, and on time. He was quick to restock the grill and keep things moving when our guests' appetites were larger than expected. Everyone loved chatting with him as they got their food. Fatima worked the bar and was very accommodating and friendly with our guests. She took especially good care of me and my bride. When the whiskey we brought ran out toward the end of the reception, the DJ mentioned it on the mic and Barry responded, "We don't run out of whiskey here," and helped us out. The fireworks lasted for >10 minutes and were orchestrated to perfection. If you decide to include fireworks, keep it a surprise for your guests. It is the first thing most people mention when reminiscing about the wedding.

Don't let the laid back nature of Barry's interactions scare you away. He has everything under control and will make the occasion perfect. If we had to do it all again, we wouldn't change a thing but we would worry less!

Our experience with Alpine Park and Gardens was fantastic! We got the all inclusive package, and Barry set us up with a DJ, photographer, florist, and did all of the catering and probably more that we cannot remember. Barry was very easy-going and flexible, making the day and planning run smoothly and everyone he referred to us was equally accommodating. Besides the amazing service, the grounds were also beautiful and the reception area was setup and cleaned by Barry's crew (which was also beautiful). Anybody looking for a laid-back, hassle-free wedding should get married at Alpine Park and Gardens!

This is the absolute perfect place to get married. The ceremony cite in the woods looks beautiful, and the reception site is like a fairytale. All night long we got compliments on how beautiful everything was. I would highly recommend this to anyone getting married in Columbia, MO.

Barry at the Alpine Park and Gardens was so very helpful and generous. His patience in working with the Brides was awesome and his decorating of the venue was spot on. The Reception area was just stunning and the ceremony area was just as stunning. But most of all the benefit of this venue comes with working with its owners!!!

I have no complaints about Barry with Alpine Park and Gardens. He went above and beyond our expectations to give us the wedding of our dreams. The food was amazing and at a lower price per head than most venues in town. He didn't nickel and dime us, and he was fair throughout the entire process. The venue is beautiful, especially when lit up at night. You don't need to spend a ton with a florist as the grounds are natually green and full of plants and flowers. Our pictures turned out amazing and we didn't have to travel all around town to take them because there are so many great places to shoot right on site. It saved us so much time on our big day which was essential. Thank you Barry, it couldn't have been more perfect!!

We had our wedding at Alpine on June 22, 2013. We had an amazing experience! The venue was all that we could have dreamed of and more! Barry was easy to work with and also gave great suggestions during the planning process. The food was AWESOME! We got many compliments from our guests about how great the food was as well as how much fun the environment was for the wedding. The surprise fireworks was unexpected but such a cool extra for our big day!

We had both our wedding ceremony and reception at Alpine Park and Gardens, which was amazing with no questions asked, hands down to Barry and Sherry, along with all the other staff. Without you guys and the beautiful park/gardens, our day would not have been so successful. Our wedding was truely a day we will never forget. We still, a year later, have people talk about the wedding and how great it was regarding the environment, food/drinks, and friendliness of the staff. It was extremely helpful of Barry and Sherry when they took control of some of the things for us such as the decorations, as there were so many other things to worry about when planning a wedding. Thank you guys so much for everything!!!! It was the best day of our lives and we will never forget. If we had to do it all over again, we would not change a thing. If anyone wants a laid back, beautiful, most amazing wedding, book a date with Alpine Parks and Gardens, call Barry.

Better late than never is my philosophy and I've been meaning to write this review for some time. When I met the owners at Alpine Park and Gardens they had one available date open for the rest of the year that we wanted to get married. I was on the fence about getting married at a venue that seemed so far away from my home in KC but Columbia was a perfect middle ground for family and friends coming in from all over the state and country. However, when I visited Alpine the winter before our wedding, I was sold. The grounds were enchanting. It was truly a unique venue with the charm of a rust and eccentricities. The owners were so unbelievably kind and generous. Beyond offering an affordable venue, they offered food (they smoked and grilled before our event so that we could have one of the best wedding meals ever and even worked with our caterer who brought in most of the side dishes) , drinks, their kitchen, their facilities, and helped us set up and tear down. They were beyond accommodating, helping us get our guests (some elderly in age) to and from the venue and working with us to create a magical evening. Still, to this day, when our wedding is mentioned in a gathering of family or friends, someone will exclaim with large grins- that was the best wedding we have ever been to. I cannot recommend Alpine enough for its' enchantment, charm, accommodations, and flexibility.

I could go on for days on how great Alpine park & garden is, how ever I'll try to keep it as short as I can. We had our wedding here on June 30th 2012. Barry and his crew was overly helpful with everything we needed. His people went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect! We used the bartender he supplied, and she was fantastic at mixing the drinks, and keeping everything ice cold on a hot day! In the middle of our first dance the stereo we brought over heated and stopped mid song. He was quick to grab his stereo and have it hooked up ready to go literately in a matter of seconds. The entire place is beautiful, even the parts he had under construction at the time. The only complaints I had was that it was extremely hot and there was no where to go and cool off other than the brides dressing room. A lot of our family is older and not able to withstand the heat, so it made the beginning of the day a little nerve racking. I don't blame Alpine for it being so hot (that was our fault for the timing), how ever it would have been nice to have a large room for people to cool off in. I'm overly happy with how our wedding turned out, and a big thanks to Alpine and all the staff that works there. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't waste time with looking for other places, I'd go strait to Alpine!

Alpine Park and Gardens is the most amazing wedding venue I've ever been to... and I had the honor of having my own wedding there! Not only is it so insanely beautiful, but it's also a well-run, well-organized venue that takes your day seriously down to the tiniest detail. Barry is intensely dedicated to making your day the best day that it can be.

Not only that, but it's so affordable! Barry has a range of priced packages that fit with any budget. And because the place is already so beautiful, you dont have to worry much about extra decor, which is a huge money saver as well.

I can't even count the number of times I've heard, "Your wedding was the best wedding I've probably ever been to." And I'm not exaggerating. Almost every person.

Thanks Barry for making our day amazing!

We loved the outdoor setting so much that we had our ceremony and reception here. Barry was very laid back and helped me to come with ideas for wedding plans. One of my best friends is getting married here next year, so I'll get to go back. We also went back for our 1 year anniversary and took photos! I love it!

Barry was so great to work with! It was very easy to communicate via email whenever we had questions and he was also great about letting us stop by when we wanted to look at the grounds. He was very flexible the day of the wedding regarding decorations and allowing the girls to get ready at the site. Our wedding was perfect and beautiful and we wouldn't have changed a thing!!

We got married at Alpine Park and Garden on September 30, 2017, we had a “beauty and the beast” themed wedding. Alpine has ample space and is completely breath taking it takes the out doors of the country and mixes it with the flare of the city. We had several children and seasoned guest everyone had a great time. We had both our wedding and reception at Alpine which allowed us to have more pictures due to not having any travel time between venues. Our photographer had a blast with all the unique signs, benches, arch ways and statues our wedding pictures are very creative. Barry is so laid back and accommodative we were going to have the 2017 remake of the beauty and the beast movie playing during the reception and my husband forgot to bring our blueray player the day of our wedding, not to worry Barry had one crisis averted. We got the beverage and food packages the food was delicious (what I ate being the bride) my guest couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was. The in house staff was wonderful, so nice and their attention to detail was amazing my guest said the staff remembered their drink orders all night.

OMG! Our wedding was the best day of our lives, and Barry and his amazing venue had everything to do with it! First of all, the venue is beautiful!! The ceremony was at the outdoor alter, with so much beautiful greenery and vegetation. Having the ceremony and reception at the same place was great, as our guests could enjoy drinks and hor d'ouvres while we got our photos taken in a beautiful courtyard. Barry gave us access to the venue all day previous to the wedding, so we had everything all set up ahead of time. He was very accommodating, flexible, and enthusiastic with everything! Now I feel I need to address one of the recent comments: Barry might be a little eccentric, but he clearly loves working with people, and as long as you are clear as to what you want, you will get it. Barry can also provide fireworks, and I HIGHLY recommend looking into it. We kept it a bit of a secret, and our guests were so amazed and surprised! Make sure your photographer knows if you go this route, and you will get some amazing pictures! Barry provided the food/catering, we did a buffet style, and that was great too! One of the reasons we initially chose this venue is the flexibility in pricing. Barry will lay out his different levels of pricing, from bare bones "you just get the venue" to providing EVERYTHING. We provided our own photographer, DJ, and liquor and kegs, but Barry has been doing this a while and has plenty of contacts. If you are looking for a beautiful, eclectic, outdoor venue, with plenty of under roof space for the reception and dancing, then you should definitely check this place out!

The great thing about Alpine is that you can do as little with it or as much with it as you want as far as decorating, but the place still has enough character to get by on its own.

We were able to have a minimal amount of decorating (all that we brought were centerpieces) and Barry took care of the rest. You can go more minimalistic than we did or you can go all out, but it was nice to have options.

Everytime that we emailed Barry, he responded within 24/48 hours and was very flexible with us coming out to wander around and plan what we were going to do, but in the end, we realized that we were able to leave quite a lot of it in his hands, after all, he's the one with experience.

I do think that this venue is better for more easy going weddings. We didn't have a seating chart or a head table. We didn't need every detail to be just so. We just wanted everyone to have a good time. For us, it was perfect. Thanks Barry.

Barry at Alpine Park and Gardens did an incredible job on our wedding on Oct 22, 2017. We live in Colorado, so planning our wedding from afar was a big challenge. We were drawn to Alpine for the beautiful scenery and the all-inclusive nature of Barry's package. As a type-A person, I have to admit that Barry's laid-back attitude made me a little nervous, but he is a true professional and pulled it together seamlessly on the big day. He made it all appear effortless, but I know that the end product was the result of his 25 years of experience with weddings. The day was great from beginning to end. Barry was flexible on setup, and by the time I arrived on site, the tables were dressed and everything looked beautiful. Barry's price per head on food was significantly lower than any Columbia caterer, and the brisket, turkey, and sides were seriously the best wedding food I have ever eaten. It actually rained on our wedding day, but we were able to find a window for the outdoor ceremony, and Barry kept everyone comfortable with space heaters and curtains in the pavilion. He put out a lovely coffee/hot chocolate bar and even soup and grilled cheese for a snack to keep everyone feeling toasty. We never even asked him to put out the soup -- he just did it. We had a couple of older family members at our wedding who can't sit for long periods of time in folding chairs, and Barry set out a recliner and rocking chair from his own home with blankets to keep them comfortable before and during the reception. The kids at our wedding had a blast running around the venue, and even the adults enjoyed feeding the fish. Everybody kept saying how unique and beautiful the park was. Justin, the DJ, was fun and easy, and it was a relief to have him take charge of the reception schedule so we could just enjoy. All in all, I can't even imagine how the day could have been better. I'm just so happy that we decided to have our wedding in the most beautiful place in Missouri.

Alpine Parks & Gardens was the perfect venue for our wedding. Barry, the owner and coordinator, gives complete flexibility for each event, allowing you to do whatever you've dreamed of for your perfect day. The venue has areas for your ceremony and reception on site, so guests don't need to drive all over town. The large park offers a super fun environment where guests can relax and party to their comfort level - outside on the patio, at the dinner tables, at the pond, whatever. The venue also has a bridal suite and boy's cabin where each can relax throughout the day. I very much appreciated being able to set up for our wedding all day Friday and having NO responsibly for cleanup, as well. The food was wonderful and Barry went above and beyond in every day to make the day FANTASTIC. I would definitely recommend Alpine; however, bridezillas - stay away - this flexibility is not for anyone who must have everything perfect by the minute.

Alpine Park and Gardens was a great venue for my daughter's wedding. The weather in late October was perfect, but even if it hadn't been, the day would have been wonderful. Guests remarked about how lovely the place is and with the changing autumn leaves, the wedding pictures inside and out were unbelievable! Barry, the owner is very laid-back and since I am too, we got along well, which is important if you are planning something as high stress as a wedding. When you rent the venue, you get it for the whole weekend , which was great as we had our rehearsal dinner there. It did not matter to him that the groom's family brought in food from another source. He also let us get set up the night before. For an additional fee, he and his crew made a delicious breakfast for our wedding guests, many who had traveled from far away.
In addition, he gave me some good suggestions on lodging, as the University of Missouri was having homecoming and there were no hotels to be had in Columbia. I would definitely recommend this venue.
