Surprise Engagement Shoot

We highly recommend Allyson!! Her flexibility, punctuality, and kindness helped to create memories of our engagement that will last a lifetime. She was kind enough to squeeze us into her busy schedule last minute and capture beautiful photographs without me even knowing she was there. Her genuine personality helped us to feel at ease on such an emotion-filled day and create such natural and loving photos. We can't thank her enough for all of the incredible photographs she took!!

Allyson is amazing!!!

You spend the better part of a year planning your wedding...and then before you know it, it’s gone in a flash. You wake up on anSunday and realize that the last 48 hours have been a blur. Having a great photographer lets you remember and savor all of those special moments even months later, when everything has turned into an amorphous, happy blob in your memory. Allyson Magda is that photographer.

Allyson was such a joy to work with, and made the whole process so much fun. She came highly recommended by a family friend who’s a wedding photographer and it’s clear why Allyson was the person we “had” to work with (we may or may not have arranged our wedding day while keeping her availability in mind). Her portraits are phenomenal, her candids were beautiful, her aesthetic and framing impeccable. We got so many incredible photos from our wedding celebration. Every time we look back through them, we relive the incredible joy of the day.

She’s also just a blast to spend time with. We both had so much fun taking our portraits with her before and after the wedding ceremony, and she was completely unobtrusive during the wedding ceremony (which was very important to us).

Allyson made it feel easy instead of stiff or staged, and was truly a master of lighting. Allyson’s formal training in art and decades of experience are clear. If you want to work with someone with world-class talent and reliability, work with Allyson!

Exquisite Photography Service

Highly recommend Allyson Magda Photography for their professionalism, beautiful photographs, and service! Allyson was always very responsive and professional throughout the entire planning process. Jill was our photographer and everyone loved her! Not only was she incredibly sweet and laid back (making me feel comfortable when I really dislike having my photograph taken!), the photographs turned out beautifully. She and her assistant were incredibly efficient and we barely noticed they were there-which is great because it meant we were truly enjoying ourselves and being present. Like most brides, I can't seem to stop gazing at all the beautiful photos and have receive so many compliments on how beautiful everything was captured. Thank you, Jill and Allyson!!! We are eternally grateful for the job you did photographing our special day.

Creative & Fabulous!

As owner of Heart Melting Events, I would highly recommend Allyson for photography services. She was absolutely wonderful to work with, very friendly and really enjoyable to be around. Fun! Talented! Amazing!

Jill and Jennifer were so much fun! They did a wonderful job instructing us and helping us create the best shots. They kept our timeline moving and were very helpful throughout the entire process. Our photos are gorgeous. I can't wait to see more!!!

This review is long overdue! We had the privilege of hiring Allyson of Allyson Magda Photography for our wedding and we are so happy with our decision! We didn’t meet her in person until the day of our wedding but we all got along great! Her communication was great before and after our wedding and she helped us organize everything. Allyson and her assistant were amazing and we never felt like they imposed on our day in any way, our guests loved them both as well. We were also thrilled when we got our photos back earlier than anticipated and we are absolutely in love with all of them! Their creativity and fun nature made it so easy to be ourselves and we will treasure these photographs forever, we are so happy with our decision to hire Allyson!!! Thanks for capturing our big day so beautifully Allyson!!!

Words cannot express how amazing Allyson Magda Photography is! We worked with Jill Hewston for our wedding this year in May and she was AMAZING! She made us feel so comfortable and took a TON of photos. The whole time we were laughing with her and truly felt like we were working with an old friend. The comfort and ease she provided, allowed her the opportunity to take honest shots of us just being ourselves.
We thought it would take months to get all our photos back but it took a mere 3 weeks! And they were all so beautiful!

Allyson was absolutely amazing. We are so glad that our wedding planner had her at the top of her list, she really made our wedding. The photographs came out exceptional, she was on point, professional, and fun. It was really one of the highlights of our wedding working with her and getting our amazing pictures and memories back. My husband and I hired Allyson's associate Jessica and her second shooter Murray (who was also her husband!) to photograph our wedding and we're BEYOND happy with our photos. Jessica & Murray were EVERYTHING - they were extremely personable and easy to work with (they're seriously amazing humans), they found the best lighting and settings in our space, came up with the best poses and shots, and they both have an incredible artistic eye. We didn't have engagement photos taken, but Jessica and Murray offered to meet us for coffee a few months prior to our wedding to get to know us - they rock! We have received dozens and dozens of compliments on our photos and our friends and family won't stop gushing about them. Allyson was also easy to work with, professional, and did a wonderful job proofing our photos. They seriously all look stunning! We cannot recommend this company more highly and especially urge you to book Jessica & Murray - you will not be disappointed!!!

I hired Jill and her assistant for 5 hours for my wedding. WOW!!!! The photographs are amazing and stunning. They arrived right on time, got right to work, made my family, husband, and friends comfortable in front of the camera, and helped wrangle family. I can't say enough good things. They got a whole bunch of angles and shots during the ceremony but were so unobtrusive that I forgot they were there. The pictures are gorgeous, both Allyson and Jill were responsive, easy to work with, and accommodating in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding. Thank you Jill for capturing gorgeous pictures of our special day!

Allyson and her assistant were so amazing on my wedding day!! They were sweet, kind and kept our day running smoothly. They captured incredible images throughout our day and were so pleasant to work with. They helped me politely excuse family members who I did no wish to be in my family pictures and worked quickly and in a tight and crowded space while I was getting ready. We hired Jill Hewston of Allyson Magda Photography to shoot our wedding and she was a dream to work with! I hate having my picture taken so I expected it to be an awkward experience but Jill right away wins your trust and sets you at ease. You feel like you've known her for years so your guard is already lifted when she pulls out her camera. I trusted her completely to capture the venue since she was so familiar with it and knew the best spots to be in. She would get a vision in her head and ask if we were okay to venture out into the vineyard for her shots- which, of course, we were. She is such a kind, sweet soul and one I recommend whole-heartedly for amazing pictures!

Jill Hewston was our photographer and we could not have asked for both a better experience and better memories of our day. We joke that it was literally and 12 hour PLUS photo shoot with a ceremony thrown in the middle! Jill and her assistant we so awesome and captured everything we wanted plus other special moments we hadn't thought about. Jill literally spend from just after 11:00 AM until well after midnight with us over multiple locations. Jill is knowledgeable, personable, and extremely talented. We have no problem saying that you cannot possibly go wrong with Jill and we highly and wholeheartedly recommend her for your next wedding or special event!

Allyson is an amazing and wonderful photographer! The photos captured the moments and came out beautifully! We had a lot of fun taking engagement photos and wedding pictures. She was very easy to work with and very flexible! Her whole team was very responsive and organized making our lives easier in the whole wedding planning process. We were able to see all the photos within a month and a half of the wedding! We loved all the photos and would definitely recommend her and use her again! We are so happy and lucky we were able to have her photograph our wedding!

Jill Hewston and her assistant photographed our wedding at Santa Margarita Ranch and was absolutely amazing. The entire time she made my now husband and I feel like we were models, haha it was great!! They were so sweet, but also on their game the entire time. I haven't seen the pictures yet, but I know that they are going to turn out beautiful because of Jill's attention to detail and focus. I would highly recommend Allyson Magda Photography, and especially Jill! She helped make our day absolutely perfect.

Allyson Magda Photography is the best! We picked Jill to be our photographer based on her stunning photos and bubbly personality. I fell in love when I first met her!

The day of our wedding she came full of positive energy with Ali and Jenn, they were the DREAM team! They made everybody super comfortable and knew exactly what they were doing. The clouds rolled in on our big day and part of me was actually thrilled bc I knew what that would mean for our photo's..beautiful! I would recommend them to anyone needing a rock star photographer! WOW! We were blown away by Allyson's professionalism, eye for art and amazing personality. From the get go we enjoyed meeting her. She made the effort to come visit our non-conventional wedding venue, get to know us and get an idea of what we wanted. On our wedding day she was easy to work with, really was set on getting great photos and overall made things simple for us. We have received a few proofs and they are incredible! Can't wait to see all the pictures. She is definitely the definition of a fantastic photographer. I already asked my husband if we can use her for our next photo shoot!

I had a great experience with Allyson Magda Photography. To me, one of the best aspects -- well, besides the gorgeous photos -- was their flexibility. We had a small wedding with no "wedding party" per se, and a limited budget for photography. They completely understood my needs and the type of reception I was having and did everything exactly how I'd envisioned it.

When I met Allyson and Jill on that first day, I knew they were exactly what I was looking for in a photographer. Their work was beautiful, and they were so fun to work with! Jill was the one to take our engagement photos and my husband and I had a blast with her. I couldn't wait to work with her again at our wedding! I can not recommend Allyson Magda Photography enough!! As a bride living in NJ, but planning a Santa Barbara CA wedding, the process of planning and choosing vendors was quite stressful. However, after speaking with Allyson over the phone, and eventually meeting her and Jill in person, I knew they were the right fit!! They were flexible and went out of their way to accomadate our budget and needs. On the wedding day, Jill and Ali did an amazing job of making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. They captured our wedding day just perfectly! I could not be more happy with our BEAUTIFUL pictures!!

We can't say enough good things about Allyson Magda photography! We had Jill and Ali as our photographers and they were great about checking in with us beforehand and setting up a timeline and talking about what kinds of photos we want. Very friendly and approachable. And on the day of-they were timely, energetic, FUN, and on top of things. Guests asked us if we had hired 5 photographers because Ali and Jill were so fast and in so many places at once it seemed like there were more of them than there were. We had a great time with them (the photo session was actually a blast) and our pictures turned out AMAZING. People keep telling us what a good eye our photographers had. I can't recommend them enough!

Coming from someone who obssessed over every single detail of our wedding, trust me when I tell you that having Allyson Magda photograph our wedding was not only the easiest decision we made during the planning process, but the best one as well. Her passion and dedication to her profession is clearly reflected in her work ethic and gorgeous photos. Allyson went above and beyond for us on our wedding day. Our event was delayed due to rain, but Allyson stayed longer than the time agreed upon to ensure she captured every special moment for us on film. I can't imagine not having those precious photos of the toasts from family, cutting the cake, and our first dance. She is absolutely worth every penny!!!!

5 Stars are not enough for Allyson Magda! She has been taking pictures of my daughters for 5 years now, and each time I am more amazed. Her ability to put my camera-shy daughters at ease and capture their true essence is completely miraculous! The pictures of my daughter's wedding are breathtaking...Allyson's presence at our wedding was professional and unobtrusive. The slide-show she set up during the wedding was a hit. I cannot say enough about my admiration for Allyson and about how thankful I am that she has become a friend of our family. She will be taking photos of every milestone in our lives for years to come.

The whole crew at Allyson Magda Photography was amazing! We loved our photos and had a blast with the whole process. I was in a friend's wedding a couple weeks after ours and taking pictures was painful. You definitely pay for the service you recieve. Allyson, Jill, and Alli were so much fun, so flexible, and creative. Pictures help make our wedding memories continue. My husband and I had a very small wedding with just our family in attendance. Prior to our wedding, my friends told me that the most important aspect of planning our celebration, even though it was small, was to find the right photographer. Now, 3 months later, I can say that they were absolutely right and I am soooooo fortunate to have found Allyson to photograph our wedding. Not only is she a wonderfully professional and talented artist, she is so sweet and kind - she made our day all the more fun and stress free. We love the pictures she took of us and our families - she perfectly captured the joy and love we felt that day. Allyson Magda Photography is unlike any other photographer out there. Allyson has a unique eye for beauty. I have had the pleasure of working with her in the past and was truly amazed on what she had captured and how beautiful the photos turned out. I knew at that moment that I wouldn't trust anyone else to photograph my wedding day. Allyson has a wonderful personality and such an ease about her that it was a joy just to be around her. Dealing with our crazy crowd, patience is a virtue. She had plenty of patience, humor and was able to round us all up to take the most spectacular photos. She captured color, lighting and all around beauty of our incredible day. We didn't have a videographer, and after seeing her photos, we didn't need one. Thank you Allyson and your awesome assistant Cady for capturing our memories. I do apologize for the rambling, but your expertise deserves it and so much more.

Allyson is AMAZING. her photos were exquisite. we hardly noticed she was there on the day of the wedding.. and yet she managed to get so many wonderful shots! we had our engagement photos taken with her too which we adore. she made us feel super comfortable in front of the camera....

she's just the absolute best!

We were so blessed to have Allyson has our photographer. She is very professional and a blast to work with. She brings a very comforting atmosphere and makes you feel at peace where ever you're shooting pictures.

Our photos are magical. They are perfect. All we hear from family, friends, and STRANGERS is that we don't even look real, that the day couldn't have been real, it had to have been a magazine shoot!!!! That's how breathtaking they are. But not only that... Allyson was so kind and professional and enjoyable to work with, she made everything work seamlessly. We are so, so grateful that we found her.

Allyson is an amazing photographer! I would recommend her in a heartbeat. My husband and I were married on the Big Island this last May with over 80 guests. With pre-wedding events and the wedding itself, Allyson was able to capture more than we had imagined... and the pictures were so incredible! Allyson was amazing. Many of my friends and family have commented that our wedding photos are the best they have ever seen. The photos have a creative edge and are not only beautiful, but uniquely us. We had a small wedding (30 people) and to conserve money, we only had Allyson on site for about 2 hours. She really made the most of the time and did an awesome job. She was also very friendly and made us feel at ease.

Allyson was amazing! She is so friendly and easy going...Plus it felt like she was hardly even there! Yet, the finished product was better than I ever expected and she managed to capture it all! You spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day and I couldn't have imagined doing it with anyone else. Allyson makes you feel comfortable and her photographs are truly spectacular. Our friends have all commented how beautiful our wedding pictures are and that they wished Allyson had been their wedding photographer. I myself was a wedding photographer for over a decade and Allyson Magda checks all the boxes as one of the best wedding photographers in the wold. Destination weddings are by far some of the hardest events to capture on camera. A photographer must be able to think fast and understand the environment about them while coordinating each part of the wedding.

For our destination wedding in Tulum, MX, Allyson was able to orchestrate flights, accommodations, extreme weather, low lighting, two locations, sand, ocean, and swarms of mosquitoes. She is world class at composition, lightening, organization, and capturing candid moments.

My wife and I highly recommend Allyson Magda Photography.

- Brix was an amazing venue! The food was exceptional; the staff was so friendly and really took great care of our guests.

- I did not realize a DJ could make or break your evening. It was worth spending a little more money to have Josh do our wedding. He was awesome!

- Sweet on cakes did a beautiful cake, and the flavor was so good (hence my guests ate the whole cake! Lol…)

- One vendor that Danny found, but wanted to recommend for your use in the
future was Ring of Fire. The food was great and they were very
accommodating to our needs. though we did not have you photograph the night before, we wish we had.

We received countless compliments on how fun the photographers were.

I cannot even begin explaining how happy we are with Allyson and her team. From the moment we started communicating, Allyson was flexible and easy to work with. Her bubbly, warm personality made my husband and I feel so comfortable with her and made us feel like we'd known her forever. She took the most gorgeous engagement pictures of us and gave us exactly what we were looking for! She did not disappoint for our wedding, either - the pictures are incredible!!! She was so much fun to work with and made me feel so at ease during the wedding. Again, her warm, bubbly personality was so contagious and made us feel so comfortable. One of my favorite memories from the wedding (besides obviously marrying my husband) was with Allyson - she giddily jumped up and down with me after sharing with me a GORGEOUS shot she had just taken. Our photographer, Jill was outstanding! We love her! We are not photogenic and usually feel very awkward in front of the camera. When we first met Jill in person for our engagement session, she immediately put us ease and our nerves quickly calmed as she had us laughing and enjoying the moment. Come wedding day, we were excited to know Jill would be with us to capture the day! Our wedding guests and bridal party, commented on Jill's relaxed attitude and kind demeanor. After combing through multiple central coast photographer websites while planning our wedding, we just kept coming back to Allyson's work.....and we're thrilled we did!! Our pictures are absolutely breathtaking! I only gave her a 4/5 for "Value" because she is more expensive than most other photographers we found in the area.....but I definitely think she is worth every penny. And only two months later and I already have all of our high resolution proofs in my possession. Allyson and her assistants have all been wonderful to work with!

The qualify of an all film photographer with pricing closer other digital only photographers. Very easy to work with, enthusiastic, supportive, non-obtrusive but keeps you on track with the timeline. Plan ahead with her to express your desires and she will make it happen. Stress free. Fantastic photos. Loved her!

Allyson was so helpful, friendly and professional. She gave me other referrals in the area which helped me select my other wedding vendors. Her style is artistic and I loved all of my photo's. The only negative comment is that you do not receive a CD with your pictures, you must purchase them separately which can be pricey. Other than than that, I would re-hire her in a heart-beat. She is the best you can find in the Paso Robles area!

I checked out and interviewed many different photographers. I chose Allyson Magda Photography because they had the style that I liked for a price that fit in my budget. The biggest selling point though was that both Jill and Allyson were very friendly, easy to work with, and on your big day you really want someone who will fit in seamlessly with the crowd. Even my husband who does NOT like photos relaxed and we were able to get some really unbelievable photos! I would not choose anyone else and I will use them in the future for other events.

We had the pleasure of working with Jill and she was wonderful for both our engagement and wedding photos. She was upbeat and absolutely a joy to work with. My husband and I aren't the most photogenic people and Jill was able to capture our natural selves perfectly. She didn't make us do stiff poses that we were uncomfortable with. The natural light in the photos are absolutely beautiful. It's well worth the money for great photos of your special day.
