    Makeup Queen!

    Ally did my makeup for my wedding and I couldn't recommend her enough. She was a fun presence on my wedding day and made me feel absolutely beautiful. In addition to my makeup, Ally also did four of my bridesmaids as well as my mom and mother-in-law- each one looked absolutely stunning. Ally listened to each of their requests and helped them achieve the look they wanted whether it was full glam or very natural. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone getting married!

    Ally was amazing! Would definitely hire again!

    Ally was amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better makeup artist for my wedding day. She was very quick to respond to emails and was very helpful when it came to booking her for my makeup trial and the actual wedding day. All of my bridesmaids looks absolutely gorgeous and I felt the most beautiful I’ve ever felt because of her! Would definitely recommend her to anyone getting married!

    Ally is amazing! Would absolutely hire again.

    Ally did my makeup for my wedding and was absolutely amazing! She arrived on time and has such a fun personality! She got along with all of my girls and we had literally the best morning getting ready for my wedding. Not only that, but she is SO talented when it comes to doing makeup! I have never felt as pretty as I did on my wedding day, thanks to Ally! My best friend hired her for her wedding day as well, and that went just as amazing too! I loved having Ally as my MUA. And I would definitely hire her again for any occasion! :) Oh and she also did my engagement photo makeup which I loved just as much!

    To begin, this review is a transparent perspective of my personal experience with Ally Yost as my wedding MUA. I originally booked Ally in 2019 for my Sept. 2020 wedding. Due to COVID, we rescheduled the wedding to May 2021. Ally required a $275 rescheduling fee, that I paid without hesitation, to reschedule to the new date. Leading up to my wedding, Ally became difficult to get in contact with, by text and email. It took days to weeks for my coordinator or myself to receive responses from her. Moving forward... Per my contract with my venue, we were allotted the time of 11 AM - 11 PM for the day of the wedding. When timelines were sent out by my day of coordinator to all of the vendors, Ally informed them that she would need to begin at 10 AM in order to have 5 faces done by 1:30 PM. Now, my venue allowed bridal parties to enter earlier, but there was a $250 charge for early entry. Due to the request from Ally, we paid the $250 to the venue in order for her to begin make-up at 10 AM. Fast forward to the day of the wedding... My bridesmaids and myself arrive at the venue at 9:55 AM. Ally is not there yet, but we wait around until 10:20 AM. At this point, I found my day of coordinator to confirm Ally stated she would be there at 10 AM. Coordinator confirmed Ally was supposed to be there at 10 AM. After a few tries, we finally got ahold of Ally. She had forgotten she had a wedding that day. Ally ended up being 2 HOURS late to the start time SHE requested. Ally completed me (the bride) and my mother first. My other three bridesmaids, that were suppose to be receiving services from Ally on this day, had to begin their own make up. Ally provided their contour, powders, eyes, and additional finishing touches. Despite being 2 hours late, Ally was able to apply make up to all 5 faces. There were multiple adjustments made to our timeline due to this delay, but we were able to move forward with our day nonetheless. After taking some time to think about my experience, I emailed Ally to discuss a partial refund. I asked for a $10-$15 refund for my bridesmaids. Each girl paid to receive a FULL service of professional make up. Yet, each girl ended up having to use their own products to begin their own make up until Ally could get to them. Next, I asked to be reimbursed for the $250 I paid to my venue for extra time that Ally requested. This was not a written fee in mine and Ally’s contract, but this is a fee that I personally felt she had become responsible for after failing to arrive at the agreed time we had paid for. Once Ally responded, she voiced that she did not believe this was her fee to pay and she argued that she could not agree to refund my bridesmaids because she still “completed” their make up. I attempted multiple times through emails to provide clarity to Ally as to why I felt a partial refund was in order. Although Ally continued to own up to the fact that she was 2 hours late, she was unable to provide any further professionalism in our communication. After many back and forth emails, Ally agreed to refund $10 to each of my bridesmaids ($30 total) “out of the integrity of her business”. She restated she would not agree to pay the $250, the $250 we spent on time that she requested, but failed to show up for. Throughout our emails, Ally continued to reiterate that the quality of her work was not compromised. I do not question her talent or quality of work, but I do question her professionalism and ability to run a business.

    She canceled on me 6 weeks before my wedding

    I debated on writing a review because I was not able to get a service done by her, however, I did book her for my wedding on August 7, 2021. I signed a contract and put down a deposit in September 2020. It's now less than 6 weeks before my wedding and she sent me an email on Tuesday saying she won't be able to make it. The funny thing is, I had previously chatted with her via email the week before to schedule my bridal trial. I am also extremely disappointed in her lack of communication with me. I sent her 3 emails and it took her almost a month to reply. I also found out from other makeup artists and past brides that she has canceled on them even up to two weeks before their weddings. She thought that by finding me a makeup artist available she saved herself, but unfortunately the girl who was going to take me as a client (so graciously) was out of most of my bridesmaids budgets. I understand things happen, but after hearing this from other vendors and brides I want people to know that this could possibly happen to them too. Being a bride is VERY stressful as it is and when someone cancels this close its ridiculous. Not to mention, she is breaking contract every time.
