Amazing experience working with Kristine! Highly Recommend!

Alla Breve was the perfect addition to our wedding! Kristine was so easy to communicate with -- and we had to communicate a lot! We were supposed to get married in June 2020, but postponed twice -- to June 2021 and then again to June 2022 for COVID reasons. It was seamless working with Kristine through all of the reschedules and as we finally got to our celebration. The music was absolutely beautiful and completed our ceremony and cocktail hour. Highly recommend!!

Loved Alla Brave for our ceremony and cocktail hour!

Amazing music/sound and easy to work with. They have a huge selection of songs and genres and were flexible to perform specific songs I requested for the ceremony even ones not on their list. We used them for the pre-ceremony, ceremony, and cocktail hour, great for background music, definitely added a classic touch by having live music.

Made our outdoor ceremony feel so special

Kristine and Steve were excellent to work with. They were very accommodating when we needed to reschedule due to COVID, they worked with our DJ to streamline the sound system used at the Ceremony location, and they were able to put together beautiful renditions of two songs we requested - "Red is the Rose", and "Wild Mountain Thyme" - the final sound was exactly what we were looking for, very true to their Soundcloud recordings, and really helped make our ceremony feel special. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful Sound/Easy to work with

Alla breve flute & guitar duo sound absolutely stunning. The music is beautiful, we had them play at our ceremony in a church setting. We also had them play for our cocktail hour, my now wife who is Brazilian, wanted them to play classical Bossa Nova, and they even were able to have someone sing in Portuguese which was very unique and interesting. They sounded great and I highly recommend for any couple. Thank you!

Just Beautiful!

Alla Breve performed during our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. They truly did a wonderful job! The music made the ceremony that much more special, and peronal feeling. I am so grateful they were able to perform each of the songs I requested, amazing!
My only regret is that my husband and I missed listening to them perform during cocktail hour since we were taking photos!!!!

Music as gorgeous as my bride

I hired Steven to play solo guitar for my wedding ceremony and he was amazing. My wife loved his playing and numerous guests remarked on how amazing he was. He was easy to communicate with and totally delivered. 10/10

Satisfied and happy with Alla Breve Duo.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance Alla Breve Duo put on at our reception this past Saturday. Wonderful to work with!

We hired Alla Breve Duo at the last minute due to a planning glitch, and were so thankful that they were available. Communication with Kristine was great. Their website is very helpful as far as picking out songs you want to be played. The processional music was beautiful and set such a wonderful tone. We would highly recommend them and would love to work with them again someday.

It is my sincere pleasure to recommend the Alla Breve Duo. We hired Kristine and Stephen Kirby to perform the ceremony music for my daughter's wedding ceremony. The musical performance was outstanding. We were so pleased with them. Many of our guests commented on how wonderful the music was. They offered an extensive repertoire to choose from. Sample music was made easily available to us on SoundCloud which was very helpful. We sincerely appreciated their professionalism. We were confident from the early stages that we were dealing with professionals that we could be relied upon. They made it so easy for us! They worked with our soloist/cantor to make sure that the entire ceremony music program was taken care of.

Kristine & Steven are not only incredibly talented but also amazing to work with. They were very responsive, helpful and were more than willing to learn the Game of Thrones theme song to play as our wedding recessional! Alla Breve added the perfect sound to our ceremony, and were very easy to work with! Their repertoire is impressive, and their performance demos on Soundcloud very helpful for sorting through possibilities. Kristine was charming and responsive in all our correspondence, and they were perfectly happy to find the sheet music for the one song request we had. The flute & guitar duet was phenomenal, ethereal and lovely! Many guests remarked on how delightful the music was, and how personal it made the whole event feel. If they had an album available, I would absolutely buy it to bring back memories of the day.

When planning an out of town wedding, you really need to rely on reviews. With that said, all the reviews we based our decision on choosing Alla Breva turned out to be true. They were the perfect choice for our daughter's wedding earlier this month. The Alla Breve Duo provided ceremony music for my August wedding in Beverly, MA. I had not originally budgeted for live ceremony music, but at some point throughout the planning, I realized I had my heart set on live music and knew it would add a special touch. I contacted numerous musicians and ultimately chose the Alla Breve Duo. After emailing with Kristine and reading reviews, it was clear they had a lot of experience and I felt confident they would deliver exactly what I was looking for at an exceptional value. I emailed back and forth with Kristine many times over roughly a six month period. She was incredibly professional and responsive and patient with my many questions. I also talked to her on the phone a week or two before the wedding to go over everything - she provided a few helpful suggestions at that time. Kristine and Steven have many musical selections for you to chose from and they are willing to learn other pieces of music that they haven't previously played for a very reasonable fee. Alla Breve provided beautiful music during my daughter's wedding ceremony. They played popular/romantic selections while the guests were arriving and being seated and then played the classical music my daughter selected for the wedding party entrance. It was perfect and many of the guests commented on how wonderful the music was. Kristine was a joy to deal with during the planning process. She was always responsive and professional. When I first heard Kristine and Steve Kirby play I cried because their music joyfully moved me! Our April 23, 2016 wedding ceremony was beautiful because of this husband and wife flute and guitar music. They can perform any genre of music from classical to traditional to pop, and they are extremely accommodating. I wanted a particular broadway musical song played for my bridal entrance and without hesitation their wonderful arrangement along with my soloist was performed. My guests cannot stop talking about the pre-ceremony prelude, and I cannot say enough about Kristine and Steve's talent and professionalism. Also, Alla Breve price points are very reasonable especially if you are on a budget. I highly recommend Alla Breve for your ceremony and/or cocktail hour.

We used the Alla Breve guitar and flute duo for our September wedding at the UMass Club in Boston. We worked with Siagel Productions who contracted them for us. Therefore, we actually did not have any contact with them before the wedding and Siagel did all the coordinating. I was a little worried about doing it this way, because I like to get a feel for the people I'm working with, but they did an absolutely excellent job. They played during our ceremony and cocktail hour and I had requested modern/contemporary music, which they played flawlessly. It brought an elegant and classy style to our event. I came down the aisle to "Blackbird" by the Beatles and the sound of the first few notes brought me to tears. They even played a song that we asked them to learn (Best Day of My Life by Bright Eyes) for our processional, and a few of our guests recognized it and thought that was really fun. They conducted themselves so flawlessly and professionally that we didn't even see them come and go. Which was unfortunate because I didn't get a chance to thank them in person! I would highly recommend them for your event if you want to add elegance with your music choice!

Great duo! Easy to work with and high quality music. It was quite affordable and much nicer than using recorded music. Having live music really matched the ambiance of our venue, which was the Martha Mary Chapel at the Wayside Inn and the Main Dining Room for the reception. I used "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" for my wedding party processional, and "Canon in D" by Pachelbel when I walked down the aisle. As a recessional I used "Alla Danza" from Water Music by Handel. They also played for my cocktail hour. I feel quite lucky to have gotten them to play for my wedding, and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Alla Breve was exceptional! I didn't meet Alla Breve until the day of our wedding. Working with Kristine over email was seamless. Kristine and Steven did an amazing job at our wedding! When trying to find a musician(s) for our ceremony and cocktail hour, the audio on Alla Breve's website stood out to us. Throughout the planning process, Kristine and Steven were responsive, professional, and helpful. The music before and during the ceremony was perfect. Alle Breve are amazing and very professional!! they returned ll my emails promptly with answers to my questions and suggestions that were valuable to our event. They arrived in a timely fashion and have a huge selection of pieces to chose from and know all tempos and variations. Fifty years ago my parents held their wedding reception at the Wayside Inn, without any music to mark the occasion. Five decades later, they gathered at the Wayside Inn again with family and friends to celebrate their fiftieth anniversary, and were treated to the beautiful music of Alla Breve Guitar and Flute Duo. Kristine and Steven Kirby were friendly and exceptionally accommodating, professional, skilled, and talented, setting just the right tone at just the right volume with their music selections. Prior to the event, Kristine solicited music selections meaningful to my parents, and thus we all enjoyed a range of genres, from classical to country, folk to rock and roll. I would recommend Alla Breve Guitar without hesitation.

Alla Breve Guitar & Flute Duo were amazing! We hired them for our August wedding, and we couldn't have been happier with their performance! We got their CD from a wedding vendor event, and after listening we knew we found our ceremony musicians! They have a very wide range, from pop music to traditional. We asked them to play "Canon in D" for the entrance of the bridal party, it was gorgeous, I loved the simplicity of the guitar and flute. We asked them to play a kind of obscure song that meant a lot to us for the brides entrance, and they learned it before the event and stayed in contact with us the whole time if they had concerns about the song or questions. They also played our cocktail hour and it was so nice to have live music while guests waited for us to get back from pictures. Kristine and Steven were so nice and attentive to our requests. I highly recommend them!

Steven and Kristine were great to work with and sounded amazing. They have a great repertoire of music in a number of styles and they were very willing to find and perform the additional music we wanted for our ceremony and during the cocktail hour. My fiance wanted us to walk out to the theme song from Rocky, and I was surprised with how great a flute and guitar could make that song sound; they clearly took the time to practice it for us. I recommend this team, they helped to make our day perfect.

Absolutely wonderful addition to our Baby Shower!!! Our guests were thrilled and moved by the sweet music gently playing in the background. Alla Breve was wonderful. The music was everything that we hoped for and then some. It was the perfect choice for the perfect day- there is absolutely nothing I would change about the music. It was important to have live music at the outdoor ceremony and they delivered. We are still getting compliments about the music months after the wedding!

Weddings ceremonies are traditionally performed in churches or chapels. Churches and chapels traditionally have organs. So, traditionally, wedding ceremonies are accompanied by organ music.
There is a much better way.
From the beginning, a flute and guitar have it all over an organ. As guests and bridal party arrive and are seated or prepare, their music created a light and joyful mood anticipating what was to come. Then, Alla Breve's performance of “The Bridal Chorus” featured a delicacy and elegance exquisitely appropriate to the occasion of a bride walking down the aisle to her wedding.
We had planned a ceremony centered about the love of a man and a woman so our readings and music were selected from love songs past and recent. In one of our selections, the bride and groom read alternate verses from Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle" while Steve of Alla Breve played the tune softly in the background. Bride and groom both read the final verse after which Kristine joined in with her flute and the duo played several minutes of the song. The beauty of the music overcame us. The justice of the peace had to stand back. Unplanned, we, the bride and groom, embraced and danced to the music right there in the chapel, in the middle of the ceremony. No organ could ever inspire that.
Make no mistake. This music is not just guitar chords with flute highlights as you might find in today's country or popular recordings. This is detailed, nuanced, in depth performance of music that you may have heard before - but not like this. This was like having Joe Pass, Pat Metheney or Wes Montgomery on guitar and Ian Anderson, James Galway or Julius Baker playing flute at our ceremony!
For our recessional, we requested a "jazzy" rendition of "The Best is Yet to Come". Again we found ourselves provoked to dance down the aisle as Alla Breve's music filled the chapel.
We were privileged to have Steve and Kristine play at our wedding reception as well. Their repertoire is incredible! When presented with a request for music by a particular artist, they always had numerous pieces to offer. Our guests all inquired about and commented on how great the music had been.
Kristine and Steve of Alla Breve contributed so much to make our wedding a unique and beautiful occasion. The sounds of their flute and guitar will always be a part of our memories of that special day.

I talked mostly with Kristine from Alla Breve and I can't speak highly enough of her. I found her to be extremely helpful answering all my questions. She was very responsive to all of our quirky requests. I can honestly say that this was the only part of the wedding that went off without a hitch! Alla Breve was a joy to work with. We had picked up their CD at a bridal show and listened to it many weeks later. While doing so, their Pachelbel's Cannon was like none we had ever heard. It was definitely traditional and incredibly beautiful (i.e. there was a timelessness to it), but there was personality and texture to it which was distinctly Kristine's - as if the person performing the piece had a deep and personal understanding of the music. Because of this piece, we contacted them about playing at our wedding.

The wedding itself was held in a very large living room at a club in Boston. So, we wanted them to play while people mingled beforehand and also to play the processional and recessional. We knew the kind of music we wanted, but were not using a wedding planner, so didn't know which specific pieces to request.

Kristine was generous with her time and was able listen to what we wanted and make the right suggestions as we also had short intermezzos in between the readings. And even though they did make particular suggestions, we never felt as if we were being asked or forced to choose this piece or that. It was clear that this was our wedding and they wanted to reflect that in the music.

Afterwards, many of the guests gave unsolicited praise for Alla Breve. They also executed flawlessly during the intermezzos which need to start and end without a distinct cue.

Many of our vendors were husband and wife duos. In the end we found that this is fertile ground for great chemistry and a deeper sense of caring about the work they do. Kristine and Steve are no exception. They work together in a way which only comes by living together for many years. We would hire them again in an instant.

The guitar and flute are a perfect combination! We had a guest at our wedding who is a music teacher and has perfect pitch, and she said that Kristine and Steve were perfect. We were impressed with them from the moment we heard them at a wedding showcase, and grew to be more and more happy, as we met with them, discussed the song list, and then actually walked down the aisle.
They provided us with the perfect mix of religious and secular music for the cocktail hour, and they played our religious ceremony music perfectly.

Alla Breve provided beautiful music for my ceremony. They played exactly what I wanted and I had to do minimal planning with them. My trolley was late so they had to play a little longer in the beginning than originally planned. Everyone at the ceremony thought they did a great job. The only problem I had was that Kristine put my wedding in her calendar on the wrong date so when I called a week before to confirm, she said that they didn't have my wedding in their book. Also, she said they never got my payment to hold the date, when in fact, they did. I showed them the cleared check, and later she found my wedding in her book under a different date. Fortunately, they hadn't booked anyone else, so they came and played for us. They are great, but just confirm your date well in advance :)

Kristine and Steve were very easy to work with. They were willing to work with a family member who was singing at the wedding. The ceremony music was beautiful. The day of the wedding, Kristine was not able to make it, but the sub they had sounded good. Our ceremony and cocktail music was lovely. The flute and guitar gave a calm, sweet, and welcoming vibe to the whole thing. The duo communicated well with us via e-mail and the music sounds very much like what you hear on the samples on their CD or website. My parents suggested Alla Breve after they heard them at a wedding. I think that says a lot about Alla Breve since their performance was memorable. You can also listen to them on their website and they have helpful planning tools there as well. Kristine was very helpful throughout the planning process. It was easy to work with her and she even worked out a new rendition of a song I wanted shortened. They work well with your preferences and the flute and guitar sound beautiful together.

Alla Breve is a guitar and flute duo - their music is beautiful! We had them play during our ceremony as well as for the cocktail hour. We picked out all of the ceremony songs - but they were very helpful with suggestions (we had a difficult time picking out a song for the procession). During the cocktail hour they did their own thing and they played a great mix of music - current songs, jazz, classical, etc). We even had guests mention to us how fantastic they were!

Beautiful music!

The couple went above and beyond by learning a custom song for us and playing beautifully during the wedding and cocktail hour! I wish that I had the chance to speak to them more in person!

Very speedy in communication. Thought all music was flowing day of wedding, but when I watched my video one song was played that I did not choose, even though I knew it was wrong it still sounded great and everyone seemed to enjoy it as the grandparents walked down the aisle.

Working with the duo leading up to the wedding was great and they were very flexible in helping us to pick the right music. The day of our wedding I didn't even have a conversation with them which I think is a good thing because it means that they set everything up independently (and it was done exactly as I had hoped) and played the music we had requested on cue etc.
