Robin, our agent, was great to work with! He helped plan everything and was very honest about his thoughts on different places we were looking at. He even booked our tickets back to New York for the wedding, and then from there to our honeymoon. The day after our wedding, Hurricane Sandy was predicted to cancel our flight. We called Robin and had him rebook us for a day earlier. It was so nice to not have to worry about that ourselves. I would definitely recommend All About Honeymoons!

We had All About Honeymoons plan our honeymoon in Hawaii. We went and met with them once, talked about what we wanted to do on our honeymoon, and they took it from there! It was so nice to not have to worry about planning the honeymoon, while in the midst of planning a wedding. Everywhere we went in Hawaii, everything was set-up perfectly. I have recommended them to several friends, and would use them again for planning our next vacation!

Overall our experience was great! Morgan had lots of options that were in our budget, and set us up with an excellent 5 star hotel that normally would have been out of our price range. We had a great time! The only hiccup in the trip was trying to set up our return car service once in Mexico. The vendor, Lomas Travel was never at the hotel when promised/scheduled to be there. We did receive a call from Lomas the last day we were there to schedule the return trip, but we wasted quite a bit time trying to meet up with them over the course of the week.

My niece utilized Janet for her destination wedding. It was a total disaster. Worse yet, there was no way to fix anything as she conveniently booked a trip to Mexico concurrent with our wedding. The bachelor party was a total miss as the hotel and VIP travel knew nothing of the plans. Everything from the beginning was a miscue. Contacting Janet was very difficult and the follow through nonexistant. Out of over 50 attendees, noone had anything good to say about the experience.

I do not want to give negative remarks about the other specialists, but I will never deal with Janet again and would advise that you heed this warning.

On May 1, 2012, I was to arrive at the Paradisus Punta Cana for a 5 day bridal/wedding excursion for my friends.

My accommodations are paid in full and my flight is paid in full. I have been looking forward to this trip for over a year. I have never been out of the United States; nor have I ever had a vacation that did not include my parents!

Unfortunately, my husband’s father has been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to his bones and is inoperable. My father-in-law and mother-in-law will be coming to our home in Indiana from their home in California during the time of my trip with the party. My father-in-law is taking treatment and is very ill; it is a trip he will be saying goodbye to us due to his fatal illness.

As you will see from the correspondence included with this letter, I had pleaded with L. Brooklyn Fell, employed by your company, and the agent in charge of the planning of the Punta Cana wedding, to see what could be done, if anything, due to this being VERY MUCH a God’s will situation, and attempt to get a refund of my accommodations from the Paradisus.

Ms. Fell contacted me via phone the evening of March 20, 2012, and she was very comforting and assuring that she would see what she could do, but the cut off date for cancellations was March 2, 2012. (This date was news to me, as I was told once we paid our final payment in January, 2012, THAT was the cut off). So this was the first of “new news” Ms. Fell had to offer. I advised Ms. Fell that I had NOT SPOKEN with my friends regarding my heavy hearted decision to cancel my trip to be with my family during this difficult time. Ms. Fell indicated that she would not say anything them and that is definitely something “I” should discuss with them as a private matter.

Later that evening, thinking I was being helpful to Ms. Fell, I contacted Paradisus via email and advised them of the situation with my family. Early the next morning, I telephoned Paradisus to see if they had received my email, and they, in fact, had received my information and they were deeply sorry for my situation and the lady, “Dina”, I think was her name, indicated that they do refunds on a case by case situation and if my travel coordinator would call them and advise of the confirmation number and other information, she would forward it on to her boss for consideration.

Silly me, thinking I was being helpful, sent Ms. Fell the information in the attached conversation from Facebook. As you can read/see, I was making every attempt to be helpful, as I wanted to make the quest for any refund easy for Ms. Fell. You can see, the conversation took a very ugly turn on Ms. Fell’s part.

During the afternoon of Wednesday, March 21, 2012, I received a text message from my friend who is getting married on this trip. She indicated that Ms. Fell had told her that I was harassing her for a refund for my trip. I HAD NOT HAD A CHANCE IN 24 HOURS TO TALK TO ‘MY FRIEND’ TO DISCUSS THIS SITUATION WITH HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ms. Fell has now caused quite a rift between my friend and I and Ms. Fell had no right to discuss my conversation with her. As you can see from the last notation on the Facebook conversation between myself and Ms. Fell…she was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL for discussing a matter that Ms. Fell KNEW I had not discussed with my friend.

As expected, my friend, is OVER THE TOP hurt and furious with me that I did not tell her … that Brooklyn Fell told her I was changing plans. This behavior is completely unprofessional, as I don’t even know Ms. Fell personally, and she has now caused a 20+ year friendship to end, because Ms. Fell put her nose in where it should not have been. She breached my confidentiality regarding a very difficult decision I had to make between being there for my husband or jetting off to a foreign country for a wedding and party. I chose to be with my husband whose father is VERY ill with cancer and will be visiting for the last time during the time period of the trip to Punta Cana.

I COULD NOT BE MORE LIVID ABOUT THE SITUATION MS. FELL HAS CAUSED BETWEEN MY FRIEND AND I. Ms. Fell’s behavior and attitude is reprehensible and has no place in the profession that she is in. To put even more stress and drama on my friends one month prior to her wedding, and on myself with a family member fatally ill, is the worst action anyone could do to people Ms. Fell does not know personally.

Due to this entire day’s events and conversations, I will accept NO LESS than a full refund for my additional stress and possible loss of a 20 year friendship at the hands of Ms. Fell’s immaturity and unprofessionalism.

Personally, I find this whole situation disrespectful to Ms. Hardy and myself. Ms. Fell had NO RIGHT to speak to me the way she did and discuss a matter with my friend that Ms. Fell and I already agreed was my responsibility and Ms. Fell said she would not mention it, as it was NOT HER PLACE!

I expect a full refund of my funds immediately, as I am done being nice, due to Ms. Fell’s lack of professionalism causing me and my friend an overload of stress at this trying time for all involved.

I also expect a full written apology from Ms. Fell as she made a very simple situation very painful and caused immense additional stress on myself and my friend.

It is not outside of the realm of reality for me to take this a step higher if nothing is done immediately. I will never utilize your company, or anyone affiliated with you or Pleasant Holidays, and I will make sure it is known how their clients are treated and the trouble Ms. Fell has caused.

I look forward to hearing from someone in short order and having my funds returned to me in full immediately and Ms. Fell should be held responsible for the fees and any loss to your company and affiliate(s).

    Regards,

o Brooklyn, I have an issue...not sure if there is anything that can be done...my husband's father has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and it has spread to his bones. He is receiving chemo and other drugs right now. They live in Laguna Hills, CA., and are planning to come here during the time that I am gone. I can't leave. My husband and I have talked, and both believe that he and his mother are coming here so as not to burden their children with the trip to California if/when something should happen. Any odds that any of my payment can be refunded considering the circumstances? I have not spoken xxx about this yet, nor my husband, xxx...I just think it is the right thing to do considering the situation and the inevitable outcome. Please help me and see what you can do. When I purchased my flight something told me to get the trip insurance...and I did...when I paid for my room, etc., through you...I had no idea that a situation like this with my father-in-law would arise. Since it is due to family illness/stage 4 cancer...are there amends that can be made? I'm so heartbroken to have to make this decision, but...I would never forgive myself if I wasn't here for my new husband during this time...especially should the inevitable occur while I was so far away. Please help me with this Brooklyn. The whole situation sucks...and I want to do the right thing. I need to be here for my husband during this time.

    Laurie Berzai DavisGood morning Brooklyn...
o I was so distraught last evening that I emailed the Paradisus and gave them a heads up about a possible refund do to the unfortunate circumstances. I spoke with a Dina just a few minutes ago and she indicated they did receive the email and she would like the confirmation number, etc., from you so that they can process a refund to your company, due to commissions to you and such. They indicated they do actually do refunds on a case by case basis...so I am hoping for the best. I hope I did not step on your toes, but we also found out that there is very little planned for the inevitible and need to be prepared for any expenses that may arise due to this situation. Please accept my apologies for stepping on your toes, but I thought perhaps if I spoke to someone firsthand, the likelyhood of a refund would be more probable....I look forward to hearing back from you in any capacity. Thank you Brooklyn, and when Jeremy and I can in a year or so...take an actual honeymoon for ourselves, we will certainly contact you for your assistance in the planning.
    L Brooklyn Fell
    o Laurie,

We are on a group contract through a supplier with the Paradisus.
Whoever you spoke with does not have authority to process or promise anything behind the suppliers back or ours and work directly with a guest. We must work directly through the supplier under contract and if any refund or cancellation is made or approved, it must come through them.

As I told you on the phone, we will do our best for you and see what the resort is willing to do. I have spent over a year of my time working with N and this group and appreciate your understanding that we must follow protocol and we are obligated under contract to do so.

    Thank-you.

o I'm just relaying the information that I was given...I would hope that you understand my situation, but I am sure not completely. I never knew about a March 2nd final date for any cancellations as I was told it was final when we made our last payment was made otherwise I would have gotten ahold of you when this tragedy was first brought to my attention. Considering the gravity of what my family is going through right now, I would appreciate all that you can do regardless of how long you have been working with N. I have a family member that is dying and would appreciate you doing all that you can. The resort seems to be more than willing to accommodate my situation and it was only my attempt to make things a bit easier for you.

o So if they are willing to assist and accommodate my situation, there should not be any issue with refunding at least a good portion less your commission, of course.

    L Brooklyn FellLaurie,

I have notified the supplier of this.
When working with groups, no one at the resort -whether in Groups Department or regular Reservations- is allowed to work with guests directly and it is a breach of contract to do so. Every group contract is different in nature and extremely confidential between the supplier, the agent, and the bride and groom.
Unfortunately, Dina will be contacted immediately and this will be dealt with. The supplier has never heard of her and neither have I, so the chance that she is even in the Groups Department is subject to verification at this point.

I understand and very sorry for your situation and am more than willing to help and try our best to get you a refund, but there is no guarantee as trip insurance was not purchased and we are past the final refund date. Please understand there are many factors here that must be considered that have nothing to do with my commission, but rather the proper policy protocol as to how this needs to be handled.

    Thank-you.

o There is no need to "deal" with Dina...she was letting me know that her boss was out and that she simply sympathized with my situation. It would seem to me that in light of the situation that is beyond a client's control that ethics would far outweigh protocol and rules. This is far beyond my control and there is no reason for anyone to be "dealing" with anyone...Just performing customer service above and beyond...and policy protocol compared to proper customer service ethics should come second in situations where it is an act of God. and well beyond the client's control .

    Laurie Berzai Davis
o Brooklyn ... you had no business causing more stress on ME OR N.
    o VERY unprofessional.
