Exceptionally thoughtful and professional officiant - a master of her craft!

Alice was a dream-come-true to work with and a master of her craft! She was an amazing listener as we told her what we were hoping for in regards to our ceremony and with the help of her well-prepared questionnaires, she was able to build a personal, thoughtful, unique, and truly beautiful ceremony. She had an excellent set of readings and vow examples as well, that really helped my husband and I find exactly what we were looking for that was the most meaningful to us. We were over the moon with how our ceremony turned out in practice and on our wedding day!!

During the ceremony, Alice was an exceptional orator. She read with an intentional, confident tone and captured the audience effortlessly. She made it obvious and easy for the readers to know their cue, and she was very professional and fluid with our prompts for our vows and I-Dos. Even when one of our taper candles started to smoke uncontrollably during the ceremony, Alice was poised and flexible, took care of it, and kept everything on track and running smoothly - she responded perfectly!

It was such an honor to work with her and we will remember how special and personal our ceremony was for the rest of our lives. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with her!

A true, genuine officiant that makes any wedding feel special

Alice was the perfect officiant for our wedding day. We had a small gathering of family and friends and Alice was the cherry on top of making our special day so meaningful and genuine. She was able to orchestrate our words into a beautiful symphony for all to hear. She is eloquent in her words and illustrated our relationship in a concise and detailed way as if she knew us for years. We would recommend Alice for any wedding ceremony, big or small. Alice is a true talent and such a kind person to meet. So happy to know she is a part of our marriage memory forever!

Alice soloway is phenomenal

Alice Soloway is an incredible person and a fantastic officiant. During our first meeting with her, we knew she was the right person to officiate our wedding. Her sincerity, tranquility, and level of organization really helped to ease away any wedding planning anxiety. Over the course of a year, we had several check-ins with her via video chat which were really helpful and grounding. How she puts together a wedding ceremony was also so impressive and seamlessly blended both my and my wife's responses to her questions. Her questionnaire was so thoughtful and deep and it allowed us to reflect on aspects of our lives, families, friends, values, and goals. She took our responses and wove an incredible narrative about us as a couple and we truly could not have asked for anything else. A number of guests approached us after the wedding ceremony and told us "That was the best wedding officiant I've ever seen!" We couldn't agree more.
From start of finish, Alice was there for us if we had any questions about the process. She is such a professional, but she is also just a lovely, lovely person. We will never forget our time working with her, and we will never be able to thank her enough for marrying us. We love her and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant!

Alice is the best!

From the beginning, it was clear that Alice presented a higher level of service and commitment than your typical wedding officiant. She spent hours getting to know us in our meetings and through extremely thorough questionnaires. The ceremony that she put together reflected each of us individually as well as our ideals, goals, and personality as a couple. I especially liked how she made sure to include our children as well as the wedding guests themselves. It was truly moving -- we had so many people come up to us afterward to express that it was the best ceremony they had ever been to. She was a large part of what made our wedding so special, and we recommend her highly to everyone!!

The best wedding ceremony!

Alice was such a pleasure to work with. From the beginning of the planning process, we didn't have the most clear vision of what our ceremony would look like; we only knew that we wanted something slightly out of the box, very casual, and non-religious. Alice DELIVERED. From our very first call, we knew that Alice would be the right person to marry us. She seemed to catch on to our vibe instantly, and made suggestions on fun ways to keep our ceremony lighthearted, fun and casual with just the right amount of tenderness and sentimentality. Alice was incredibly organized and professional, and very communicative. She wrote and performed an absolutely perfect ceremony for us, capturing the essence of our relationship as if she had known us for years. Alice is just wonderful!

I cannot say enough about Alice; she is truly wonderful! Adam and I recently got married in July 2023. We found Alice online through the Knot and contacted her through her website. I remember reading her approach to creating meaningful personal ceremony's based on the couple's values and I fell in love. I reached out and she responded that day. Within a week we were video chatting and Alice was educating about us about what even makes up a wedding ceremony, how to navigate our wedding party and family, do we need a microphone? From the big to the small, she's dealt with it before and created a perfect solution. Alice was the right fit for us. She took the time to get to know Adam and I and created a beautiful ceremony that was incredibly personal. The whole process was transparent; We had the final say on the content and wording of the ceremony. She kept us to a timeline (gently) and nothing felt rushed. Day of the wedding, we felt we had known Alice far longer than the 6 months we worked together. Our ceremony was engaging, full of love and laughter and some tears (Alice was prepared with tissues!) Our family and friends keep telling us it was the best ceremony they had seen. And best of all, it was so us. Thank you Alice!

The Perfect Fit!

Our experience with Alice was phenomenal, from beginning to end. Finding the right officiant who was okay with performing a non-religious ceremony was a priority for us, so we started the search pretty early. I’d seen Alice’s profile before we had started to make inquiries, and made a mental note about her. Then a few months later, when I was honestly feeling discouraged by the prospects, I remembered Alice! Immediately when we met with her virtually, we felt at ease about the process. She was kind, calm, and very easy to talk to. We decided pretty quickly that we would hire her. And, importantly, she specialized in helping couples create their perfect ceremony, with as little or as much tradition as desired. We even were able to meet her in person prior the wedding, which was such a treat! And cemented the comfort and ease we felt with her.

We can confidently say that our wedding ceremony was perfect. It was obvious how much time Alice had spent creating and helping is craft our love story, and it felt incredibly intimate, even with our 68 guests.

Another aspect during the process that was incredible, was how many resources Alice has! She’s a real pro, and has dozens of example vows that really helped us with our own. The back and forth process of editing the ceremony was also extremely collaborative — knowing exactly what was going to be said and done before hand was huge for us.

Thank you, Alice, for helping us craft our ideal ceremony, and for being just so great along the way! We HIGHLY recommend Alice — would have her marry us over and over again.

I immediately want to emphasize not just how amazing Alice is but how important it is to invest in an excellent officiant. The ceremony set the tone so beautifully and I’ll never forget how calm and in love I felt during it.

The BEST decision for the most important part of the day

When looking for someone to marry us, we were at a loss! My amazing wedding planner found Alice and at our first zoom
meeting I just knew that she was THE person we had to have! She was calm and professional, listening to what was important to us (in life, and a ceremony) and offered some unique thoughts that we could include. After booking Alice, she helped us create a beautiful, personalized ceremony (that made our guest rave about during our reception!) and helped us include our boys (1&6) to show the “official” creation of our family which was just as important to us as our union as husband and wife. Alice is kind, Thoughtful, sincere and calming! Absolute Perfection

Working with Alice Soloway as our Wedding Celebrant was absolutely perfect and painless! From the very first conversation, we knew we had found the right person. She was pleasant, loving, communicative and organized, reassuring us every step of the way that we would end up with a Ceremony & Vows that would reflect who we are. We felt guided and supported through the entire process.

Her questionnaires pulled out exactly the right information from us, and combined with our conversations, she wrote a piece that celebrated our unconventional love story in the most beautiful way. We worked together to revise and tweak the details, and the whole exercise was smooth as silk. The section to remember family members who passed was particularly thoughtful, and brought us and our loved ones to (happy and wistful) tears.

During the ceremony, Alice was very present, her delivery warm, human and full of love and humor. Her whole self was present in the moment and it created a space for us and our guests to really be in the moment as well. Both Stephen and I could not be happier with the entire proceeding and the outcome. More than a few family and friends made a point afterward to tell us how wonderful Alice was… and we wholeheartedly agree! I’ll say it again: absolute perfection. Thank you, Alice!

Alice Soloway is THE BEST!

I had the amazing opportunity to meet Alice in 2019 when we were originally planning my wedding for May of 2020. Although the world had other plans, and we eventually moved the wedding to July 2021, Alice never missed a beat. As our plans kept changing, Alice was there with unique, creative ideas to make sure that our story was reflected beautifully in our ceremony. Alice is the living definition of creativity. She is the most patient, caring person with a heart of gold. The work that she put in to make our ceremony unique and full of love was miraculous and unforgettable. Our ceremony was so thoughtfully created by her that after our wedding was over, so many people asked us if Alice was a close friend!! Almost a year later, I am still dreaming about the ceremony as it still brings tears to my eyes. Choose Alice to turn your ceremony into a dream. The perfect personal ceremony

My husband and I are so pleased that we chose Alice to officiate our wedding in November. We were looking for a ceremony that would be non-religious, and feel personal and intimate. Alice went above and beyond to deliver! We had guests coming up to us all night telling us how much they enjoyed the ceremony, and how much it really reflected us as a couple. Clear Communication, Flexible Plan, Beautiful Ceremony

We met Alice through Everly Studios as part of a package deal. When we first started the process, Alice met with us through zoom to plan and discuss the details and breakdown of the in-person ceremony. She walked us through and asked about our preference of wording and the story of how we met. We were very satisfied with Alice's professionalism and communication. We have family members who do not speak English and we wanted the ceremony to be inclusive. Alice was willing to help us by providing a transcript of the ceremony and we were able to translate it in advance. During the ceremony, she was very graceful and welcoming and made the experience wonderful. We kept the ceremony quick (just as we wanted) but it still felt incredibly special. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs an officiant!

The best wedding officiant

We couldn't have dreamed of finding a wedding officiant as wonderful as Alice! From our very first phone call to the wedding day itself, Alice made us feel at ease throughout the journey by listening carefully to what we wanted and providing gentle guidance on the things we weren't sure about. Alice is a beautiful writer and we loved getting to review what she had written for our ceremony ahead of time so we knew what to expect.

On our wedding day, Alice met us before the ceremony and talked us through some of the key moments, which made us feel very comfortable going into it. She delivered the ceremony flawlessly with the perfect balance of emotion and confidence. Excellent Officiant

Alice was a great partner and guide through our wedding planning and ceremony. From our first meeting Alice made us feel comfortable and confident that we had found the right person to officiate our wedding. She made space and listened to what we wanted and gave us guidance and examples for all the parts we hadn’t thought of!

Her process and website are really helpful and were a fun way to have us stop and think about our relationship and the journey we have been on leading to our marriage. She walked us through everything, no detail too small, so when it came to day of we knew exactly what to expect.

Our ceremony was beautiful. Having Alice by our side was very calming as she shared our story with our guests and lead us through our vows. She made sure we knew what was coming next and that we were happy, comfortable and focused on each other throughout the whole ceremony.

We found Alice 3 weeks prior to our wedding. Although we gave her short notice to work with, she met us where we were at with kindness, compassion and excitement. Alice was there for us in a way the other vendors weren’t. She kept us calm and grounded, and made sure we were comfortable with her words and the message she would be portraying about our love story.

Her experience and skill as a wedding officiant allowed her to extract the essence of our relationship and our core values.

Our Perfect Ceremony

We had an incredible wedding day. One of the biggest reasons our big day was so special was because of the meaningful ceremony that was written for us. We are two socially anxious individuals, when we first met Alice she instantly put us at ease. Alice listened intently as we described every aspect of our relationship. The questions included in our interview packet, that we filled out at our own pace, were meaningful and it was a delight to revisit specific chapters of our relationship. The ceremony was written flawlessly with a perfect pace and carefully selected words. Incredibly Moving and Personal

Silence. You could hear a pin drop as Alice’s words kept everyone rapt. She communicated my son and daughter-in-law’s love story with wit and charm. She even managed to discuss their life challenges in a positive and uplifting way. Perfect Wedding Ceremony!

Alice did just a beautiful job at my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding. The ceremony was so personal and so completely true to who they are. I don’t know how she did it, but she managed to tell their love story in a way that was completely endearing. They really are a sweet couple, but I don’t think most people understood just how much they are devoted to each other. Alice did such an amazing job conveying that, and it truly made their wedding day perfect!

Alice made our zoom wedding extra special

We recently got married and Alice was our officiant. We spoke with many officiants and we are extremely happy we worked with Alice! We had a zoom wedding and were not really sure what to expect. Alice was very responsive, accommodated our short turnaround, and was very quick to mail the required forms to the town clerk. We opted for a short and sweet vow exchange. Excellent experience with Alice!

My husband and I hired Alice to officiant our wedding on zoom and she was amazing! We had tons of questions and she was available for phone calls, emails and she did a zoom with us too to go over everything.
She had us fill out questionnaires about our relationship and from that wrote out a beautiful and heartfelt story of our love which she read at the ceremony along with the vows. Both of our families were so impressed with her warmth and kindness.
Alice made us feel so comfortable the entire time and we had no doubt that we could trust her to make this a special ceremony for us.

Seamless, amazing, easy to work with

I cannot put into words how amazing Alice was for our wedding ceremony. We received compliments from our guests the entire night. We had Alice write our entire ceremony and did not write/read our own vows. I highly recommend doing it this way as Alice wrote a beautiful ceremony and you get to focus on listening to it. We also did a handfasting ceremony which was amazing. Everyone loved it and most had never seen/heard of it before. Book Alice for your wedding, you will not be disappointed!

Very Professional!

Alice officiated our small upstate NY elopement. She was so warm and nice. We had a call with her prior to booking that served as a get to know you session where She told us about her services and we discussed what we were looking for in a ceremony. On the day of, she delivered a lovely ceremony! One thing we loved was her suggestion of a ring warming ceremony where she invited our two guests to warm our wedding bands and make a wish/bless them on behalf of everyone we love who couldn't be with us on our wedding day. Overall, we were so happy to have her join us on our day!

Wonderful experience from start to finish!

Alice was a wonderful officiant!! We had a great experience from start to finish and our guests even made sure to note how empathetic she sounded, and how well written her speech was during the ceremony. At our first conference call with Alice, she made sure to get to know us as best possible, and proposed three options to how the ceremony could be performed. She also clearly answered any questions we had about the process of signing and submitting a marriage license online in times of Covid. We opted for a speech that would incorporate our story. Alice sent us 4 questions she would then use to craft her beautiful speech. The following emails were answered promptly and in a very professional matter, we never had to worry about her role in midst of all the preparations! Love is not cancelled!

Hiring Alice to officiate our ceremony was the easiest decision that we made during the chaos of the last several months. We knew we still wanted to get married on our original date of 7/31, even though we postponed our large public ceremony due to COVID-19 until next year. We contacted Alice and right away, felt a personal connection with her. From the first zoom call we had, we knew we wanted to work with her, and made the decision to hire her within a day of speaking to her. Alice is warm, caring and takes interest in each one of her clients beyond just that of a business interaction.

Alice made everything incredibly easy to fill out with her online portal, and via email. We gave her the information she would need to write our ceremony, and she curated a beautiful, personalized ceremony.

Just before our ceremony, I was incredibly nervous. Alice greeted me with warmth and kindness, guiding us separately through the signing of the marriage certificate and helping us calm our nerves. She took care of everything from the the beginning to the end of the ceremony, and we couldn’t be happier with how things turned out. We were so nervous about finding an officiant who would understand what we wanted in terms of a ceremony, and Alice delivered 100%.

Great Experience

Alice Soloway was professional when performing our virtual ceremony. Excellent communicator and we can tell she loves her job. She had the warmest smile during the whole ceremony. She made us feel secure and assure us she was here for us and it was about us and she was here to help. We messaged her on the day our license was issued and she message us back quick. She was able to fit us in her schedule the next day. During the ceremony she gave us options on how to stand/sit and gave us words to exchange that made happy tears flow. Virtual wedding 💒

We highly recommend Alice! She's lovely yet professional, and works with speed/efficiency. Working with someone who loves love is incredible

Best Wedding Officiant You Can Find

My wife and I had no idea what to expect with our marriage planning since City Hall in NYC closed down due to Covid-19 in March. We already had our marriage license but had no place to get married. In May, the Cupid project was consolidated by NYC marriage bureau, which allows couples to get officially married online. We were so happy that our plan wouldn’t get further delayed. I did a quick search for virtual wedding officiants in hope to find a perfect match who will host our special zoom wedding event. Alice was the 4th person I spoke with and I immediately felt that she was the one we wanted. From her calming voice, friendly smile, and a brief explanation of the process, Alice provide us details on what to expect and gave us a solid plan since day 1. She really made me feel like she cared about us having a special day regardless of the situation, unlike some other people I spoke with that made things sound like a business transaction.   Alice remained in constant contact with us during the week going over all types of questions and concerns we had at all hours of the day. She was so flexible with the time we set to get married which allowed people tuning in from different parts of the world. She called two days in advance to go over technical questions regarding the zoom wedding. On our wedding day, she called in early to go over the logistics with us. She sent in our paper to the city clerk right after our virtual wedding and made sure we were copied on the email as well. She truly is a professional and I highly recommend her services for your virtual and in-person weddings.

Perfect Virtual Wedding During COVID-19

Alice is simply amazing!

Alice was our officiant for our recent elopment and she was everything I could have hoped for and more. From the initial phone call to talk through what my husband and I were looking for, to her thoughtful questionnare that got us to write down how me met and what marriage meant to each of us; her system was approoachable and flawless. Alice came up with a beautiful description of how we arrived at our wedding day, and crafted a ceremony that was jovial as well as grounded in the committment that we were making official. Winter Elopement

We were lucky enough to have been able to pick Alice from Pop the knot. Alice was absolutely amazing to work with. She asked us questions to help personalize our wedding. She took that information and doctored it up to make it feel like something out of a movie. She was so warm and kind. She was so elegantly spoken. We felt like when she was speaking she took what we wanted to convey about our love and hit it out of the park. We live out of state and she so graciously submitted our marriage application for us which was a tremendous help since we were leaving NYC the next day. I would recommend Alice over and over. Amazing experience with Alice

From the moment my husband and I met Alice, we knew she would be the perfect officiant for our wedding. Alice is calm, compassionate and warm. In the lead up to the wedding Alice was extremely helpful, thoughtful and responsive. Alice wrote the ceremony for us, based on a questionnaire my husband and I both completed about how we met, how our relationship has evolved etc. The ceremony Alice wrote for us was the perfect balance of emotion and humor -- exactly what we were hoping for.

Alice is THE best!

My wife and I re-read through many of the positive reviews on Alice’s site before writing our own and found ourselves nodding “yes, yes, and yes” in wholehearted and enthusiastic agreement with all of them. Alice is truly as warm, professional, respectful, supportive, and, most importantly, as amazingly personable as everyone else has said and then some!

My wife and I are both introverts by nature so we decided to skip writing our own vows but didn’t want to lose the personal touch that comes with the gesture. We also wanted to keep our ceremony simple and concise but still convey our great love for each other in a meaningful way. When searching for an officiant, we mentally prepared ourselves to settle for “good enough” but then we came across Alice’s site. Between the rave reviews and all of the heartwarming photos of Alice with the other couples lucky enough to have been married by her, we had a gut feeling that we found someone great.

From our introductory video call to our in-person meeting, from logistics and planning right up to the big day itself, it turned out that Alice was better than great - she was perfect! Alice hit the nail on the head with our ceremony and had my wife and I completely teary-eyed just reading through the first draft. She captured all of the sentiments and feelings we would’ve wanted to say for ourselves only in a more eloquent and thoughtful way than we could’ve ever achieved on our own.

Our wedding day overall was the blur people warned us it would be but Alice’s ceremony truly stands out in our minds as one of the main highlights thanks to Alice’s comforting presence. Her confidence and warmth seemed to cut through all of the “wedding jitters” and helped keep us “present in the present” to enjoy the moment. We consider ourselves super lucky and are very thankful to have had Alice be our officiant.

I wanted an officiant that would be able to create a meaningful, secular ceremony. Alice delivered above and beyond. She starts with a questionnaire, which is extensive, but she was able to incorporate our personalities, dreams, hopes for our future so wonderfully based on the information we gave her. Alice is amazing

We were so lucky to find Alice as our wedding officiant! She was so perfect for our wedding ceremony. We didn't want anything too traditional or generic... but also nothing too serious or emotional. Especially, because I really did not want to tear up on our wedding day. Alice understood all of our requests - She set such a lovely and witty vibe, but with so much thought and love put into our ceremony. Everything felt extra special - our favorite part was when she talked about our Love Story: How we met and what we love about each other. That really made our guests laugh.. it was a heart-warming story! It really added that sweet personal touch to the ceremony.

A perfect elopement ceremony thanks to Alice!

We were so lucky to find Alice for our Central Park wedding, and can't recommend her highly enough. Finding an officiant was top priority for us, but we wanted to find a particular type of person. In our experience, celebrants are often a bit "showy" and somehow make the ceremony more about themselves than the couple. However, as soon as I read Alice's profile I knew she was different. She responded to our email straight away with a kind message, and suggested a Skype call. She was warm, down to earth, and interested to learn about our personalities. She talked us through the legal stuff, listed the pros and cons for different locations, and gave us different options for vows. She also recommended our fabulous photographer Jocelyn Voo who she's worked with before.

As for the ceremony it was everything we wanted it to be. Alice has a really calm aura so she helped my husband relax whilst he waited for me in the park. She told our story and read our vows in such a beautiful way that we both cried (we're very British and reserved, so that's saying something!). And when it was finished we didn't want her to leave - she's that lovely!

Unforgettable

What an ABSOLUTE pleasure it was to find Alice and get to work with her. She is an outstanding human being and we are so grateful to have someone like her in our lives. I heard her name in the very beginning when we first started wedding planning (circa early 2017), but it all got a little overwhelming, so finding an officiant took the backseat to booking the venue, DJ, floral, etc. Then when my planner mentioned her name again probably about a year later, I knew it was fate. Boy, was I THRILLED that she had the time and ability to work with us for our wedding! I swear I’ve been bawling my eyes out since I received the first custom draft of our wedding ceremony. My husband was making fun of me when we sat down to read it for the first time – I started crying at the end of the first line. It went above and beyond my wildest dreams – it was detailed, well written, emotional, hilarious, chock full of love and passion, all encompassing, and it reflected our 12 years together as a couple perfectly. Her presentation of our story was exquisite – she was well spoken, polite, and you could truly feel how much emotion she felt for us in every single word. It’s not every day you find someone who truly cares about what they do like Alice cares about her couples. People have not stopped talking about how gorgeous it was, even now, being an entire month later. Every time I get my Mom on the phone, she raves about how amazing the ceremony was – how it was her favorite part of the day! Alice has been involved wholeheartedly from the beginning. From our initial phone call, to the constant responses via email, and even video chatting to make sure she got a real feel for us as a pair before she started her writing process. I sincerely struggle trying to find the words to thank her for everything she did to make our big day unforgettable. It meant the world to us to convey our feelings of love and appreciation to our family and friends, and Alice went above and beyond to make that happen. We are forever indebted to you! A New Friend Officiates our Wedding

I was introduced to Alice through my elopement photographer. We had a private wedding and wanted to keep everything very intimate. I've only been to weddings where the officiants were religiously officiated or where the officiants were personal friends or family of the couple, so I really had no clue what to expect for my own wedding. Alice emailed us some questions, which were insightful and gave her an idea about our relationship. We had a call with her a few weeks later and she asked ceremony-specific questions, such as if we wanted to write our own vows, what we wanted to be pronounced afterwards, etc. When we saw her the night of our wedding, I really felt like it was seeing an old friend, despite the limited interaction we had with her and over a short period of time. I can't believe what a wonderful ceremony she presented, it was really personal, exactly what we wanted. That being said, if I could rewrite my vows, I wouldn't mention as much of what I did in the answers, as I probably should have realized that she would be using that material for the ceremony. She also has a calming voice, which helped me not be so nervous. After the wedding, she emailed me the ceremony, which will make a nice addition to our wedding scrapbook.
If you are looking for an officiant, I could not recommend Alice enough. We both felt really comfortable interacting with her through the whole process and felt she listened to us and really wanted to understand us and our relationship. She was the perfect person to officiate and at some point down the road, I would love for her to be part of our vow renewal ceremony!

Amazing storyteller and officiant!!

Alice was an absolute joy to work with--she went above and beyond to get to know us and tell our story in a heartwarming, humorous and touching way. I don't feel like people usually talk about the officiant at weddings, but everyone at our wedding raved about how Alice killed it :). She created a ceremony that was personal and meaningful and truly tied our wedding together and offered impeccable advice on our personal vows. She also directed everyone at the ceremony, made sure to have time to rehearse and make things go smoothly, and had a timeline working up to the event that she reminded you about (such as getting a marriage license). We could not have gotten married without her--literally and figuratively!!

Alice was the perfect officiant for our wedding. From the first time we had a Video call to the ceremony on our wedding day Alice was professional, easy to talk to, helpful and embraced everything about us. Wedding Officiant

We are so glad we found Alice! I was really starting to get worried that we wouldn’t find the right person to marry us and the days just kept ticking by! When I found Alice I knew that I needed to be married by her. We were eloping with our young children and she made me feel so comfortable during our first conversation, it was like I’d known her for a long time. During our ceremony I felt like she really put time into creating our short ceremony. It was so personal and perfect. She made everything easy for us and even printed out our vows and brought them so we didn’t have to worry about it. Looking back, I can’t imagine having been married by anyone else. It is a day and ceremony that we will cherish forever.

loved working with Alice!

We are so happy that we went with Alice as our officiant. You can tell that she truly loves what she does, and she's an excellent writer and speaker. She worked closely with us to understand how we wanted our ceremony to reflect our love and our values, and in the process my husband and I got to reflect on what marriage really means for us. I'm very grateful that we got the chance to do that; it was a welcome break from the more mechanical aspects of wedding planning.

During the ceremony, I felt completely relaxed and happy, and right after it was over I remember thinking, "okay, even if the reception ends up being a total disaster [it wasn't!], all will be forgiven, because that was beautiful." It was really the centerpiece of the day, which is what we wanted. We got to hear our story and our words about each other summed up so nicely by Alice, and I know our friends and family loved hearing it too. After the ceremony a couple family members asked me if I was relieved that part was over, and I said, "Not at all, I'd do it again!"

The perfect wedding ceremony

Alice officiated our wedding ceremony on 6/29/19, and it was perfect. From the moment we met Alice, we knew it would be a good fit. She is warm, funny, and easy to talk to. She gave us a detailed outline for the timing leading up to the wedding, and of the day itself. Furthermore, she corresponded with all of our vendors prior to the big day to make sure everyone was on the same page.

Alice's ceremony was funny (we asked for something lighthearted), lively, and deeply personal towards us as a couple. We truly could not have asked for a better officiant. Highly recommend!

Everyone is still talking about it

My husband and I wanted a ceremony that was personal, meaningful, and true to us. We searched around, but once we read Alice's Bio, we just stopped -- she was perfect. We had a video call to meet, and then we corresponded via email. The overall ease of the situation was outstanding. She had us fill out a questionnaire, then she took a crack at the ceremony. Literally everything was perfect, a few small tweaks, which were a result of us changing our mind on some content/tone. Every detail was discussed, from when to refer to my husband as "Robert" vs "Bobby", to how I as the wife wanted to be represented at the pronouncement (i.e. Husband & Wife, Wife & Husband, Partners, Mr & Mrs, etc).
The day of the wedding, she showed up, got our witness signatures, confirmed some name pronunciation, and clarified some technicalities like whether or not we wanted to use a microphone during our vows or keep them personal. She took time to sit with me and make sure I was mentally and emotionally ready. She's so calming.
She walked down the aisle with my husband and his best man. She asked everyone to please silence their phones, but to feel free to take photos (per our request). Then the processional began. Bobby told me what when I got to the door way, Alice whispered to him "Take a step forward and see your bride".
The entire ceremony was maybe 30 minutes, as we wanted to keep it short. Throughout the narrative, she would take a moment, put the microphone down, and just speak to us. This was an amazing way to make sure we were present, we were listening and we were there in a smaller circle, just us and Alice. It was a seriously great touch.
The entire reception, we had guests coming up to us telling us how this was the most unique, genuine and personal ceremony they have ever been a part of. We cannot thank Alice enough for creating and presenting the ceremony of our dreams, with the tone and positivity that we were searching for.

Wonderful Experience with Alice

Alice was the best officiant we could have asked for. We originally planned to elope at City Hall but we wanted a more personal experience and I’m so glad we chose to work with her. Our elopement photographer sourced Alice for us and I honestly couldn’t have picked anyone better myself. We had an initial skype meeting in the weeks leading up to our ceremony – with lots of technical difficulties on our end and she was very patient. She asked us about our relationship and how it evolved and turned our story into a very special ceremony. Alice is such a personable individual it made us feel completely at ease, almost as if we’d known her previously. The ceremony she wrote for us made us laugh and cry and will be something we remember forever. She even shared the ceremony with us afterwards so that we could pass along to our families who were not there with us. I would highly recommend Alice!

Intimate Wedding In Bookshop

Great choice!

We’re so happy we chose Alice! From months before the wedding right up through the ceremony Alice helped guide us through the process and keep us on track. We spoke with Alice a few times on video chat and met her once for breakfast which was a great way to get to know each other and helped when the day came. Alice gave us pointers on what we should do and seamlessly integrated some special things we wanted to have happen during the ceremony. The ceremony itself went off without a hitch. Alice told the story of our relationship beautifully. We received comments from many guests on how they learned something new about us and how much they enjoyed the ceremony. Moving and Personal Ceremony

We had a wonderful experience working with Alice. She capably guided us through the process of creating our wedding vows. Incredible and deeply personal (stress free) ceremoney!

From the first time we talked to Alice while trying to find the right wedding officiant, she put us right at ease! We knew immediately that Alice was the right choice! And throughout the process, Alice continued to exceed our expectations! She was so easy to work with and took all of the stress out of planning the ceremony. You are not going to find a better wedding officiant than Alice Soloway. From our first conversation with her back in January, we felt as if we'd known her forever. We knew right away that we wanted her to help us create our ceremony. Every email, FaceTime session, phone call was filled with kindness and love and she made the process so easy. Our wedding was a week ago today and it was absolutely PERFECT. I literally cannot be effusive enough about Alice. She was phenomenal. She was probably my favorite person we worked with in all of the wedding madness/planning/ever. My husband and I are from different religious backgrounds, neither of us particularly religious, so we were looking for a secular ceremony that could incorporate some traditions from both but leave out most of the religious elements. Most of the weddings we’ve been to that were non-traditional felt a little too jokey for us – we wanted something non-traditional but with a traditional level of gravitas.

In our initial meeting, Alice went over her process and sent us sample vows, tips, and her very comprehensive questionnaires. She put our answers together into a ceremony that told our story and celebrated our values. She helped with tips for our vows, which we wrote individually and didn’t show each other beforehand, so we relied on Alice to help us make sure they would go together tonally. She also remembered the little things - everything down to making laminated copies of our vows, carrying tissues, and knowing when to make us take a breath during the ceremony to collect ourselves.

The ceremony was perfect. Alice captured who we are as a couple and who we are as people, in our own words and in each other’s words, and it was so, so meaningful. It made everyone present feel included, and like they were experiencing our history along with us. There were tears and laughter from everyone, even the lifetime non-criers. She made our ceremony easily the most meaningful part of our wedding. Family members who we hadn’t seen since childhood for weeks afterwards were telling us how lovely the ceremony was, and that hearing our story during the ceremony made them feel “they’d really been a part of something special.” She managed to capture a bit of both of our quirks and the earnest emotions behind what we both wrote, and made it magical. We would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Alice put aside her own plans on July 4th to marry us. We asked for a short ceremony since this was just a private wedding as we planned to have a larger ceremony later. I found Alice while researching on internet for an officer in NY, and what I read on the reviews really made me have my eye on her right away.
So it’s my turn to write about the amazing experience that we had with Alice and how grateful we are.
I reached out to Alice 2 month prior the wedding , pretty much when we started planning. Thankfully she was available for that date.
I am a French/ Portuguese , marrying an American/Mexican and we live in London so our interactions were by email and FaceTime.
Alice made things so smooth and easy. In every communication she just wanted for us not to stress and she was so accommodating and reliable , I am so happy I choose her as officiant.
We chose the personalised ceremony and were so happy with what Alice wrote, reminding our guests about our story and what this all meant for us. Including our present guest who travelled from Texas and Paris and including ones that couldn’t make the trip.
It was very emotional and beautiful and everything was perfect including the weather on that beautiful spot of the Wagner cove in central park.
I wouldn’t change a thing.
We will cherish the memories of our wedding forever and so happy Alice married us. We want to thank her again for everything.

My wife and I were so lucky to have found Alice, and we could not be happier with the ceremony that she put together for us. Before speaking with Alice, we had settled on only two things: our ceremony was going to be interfaith, and it had to incorporate our personalities and the story of our relationship, with as much joy and laughter as we could possibly fit. After several conversations on the phone and on video chat, we knew that we had found the right officiant for us. Alice eased all our anxieties, and showed us how best to highlight our journey and involve our friends and family in the event. She got to know us through a very thoughtful and comprehensive back-and-forth, offered and received advice and suggestions on the ceremony thoughtfully and seamlessly, and knew all the steps on obtaining our wedding license before we did! She was supportive and responsive throughout the weeks leading up to our marriage, and we knew that we were in good hands for the wedding day. On the day of the ceremony, she met with us before to go over the step-by-step process (which she had prepared for our rehearsal), and answer our last minute questions. Once the ceremony began, the real magic happened. Alice presided over a beautiful ceremony, brimming with friendship and good humor, and it began the best celebration of our lives. Even now, several weeks after our wedding, we continue to receive compliments regarding the ceremony, and how connected it made our guests feel. Our entire cocktail hour went something like this :
Guests: “you look beautiful, what an amazing ceremony, who was your officiant, how long have you known her?”
Me: “ thank you, it was magical, Alice Soloway, we found her online, we never met her before, she created that ceremony from 2 FaceTime sessions and one secret questionnaire that we each filled out privately and sent to her.”
Guests: “UNBELIEVABLE!!!”
Me: “ I know, right?!”
Now we know why all of her reviews were 5 out of 5 in all categories. Alice’s ceremony was THE talk of the night. She gave an awesome rendition of our love story. It was so personalized that every guest in the room could feel their own hearts turn gooey, even the most jaded of guests - my cousin, a 40 year old confirmed bachelor for life , said that was the MOST romantic wedding he had ever witnessed. I cannot express enough how lucky I feel to have found her and blessed to have had her kickoff the rest of my life with my husband. She was able to give all of my guests a sneak peak into our private life and made it so much fun for everyone to hear .

The process was so simple and clear and the questionnaires she provided to learn about us helped to create the absolutely perfect ceremony. On the day of the event she was like one of the family and we got SO many comments from our guests on how warm, personal and "perfect for us" the ceremony was. We never even thought about cost since it was such an amazing experience. We HIGHLY recommend Alice to anyone who wants to create and have the ceremony of their dreams - we can't think of a better way to start our married lives!

Alice was amazing! She took the time to get to know my husband and I and perfectly captured our relationship and journey leading up to the wedding. She was so kind and warm the day of the ceremony it was almost like we had known her for years. My husband and I decided to elope and were so grateful for Alice and her ability to make the day so intimate and special for us even without an audience.

My (now) husband and I come from different religious backgrounds--he was raised Jewish and I was raised Catholic, however neither of us envisioned a religious wedding ceremony. We knew that having a non-denominational officiant would allow us to craft and personalize our ceremony, and to integrate the traditions that were most meaningful to us. The moment after we finished our first phone call with Alice, we knew that we had our celebrant and did not need to look any further. And once we met with her a few months before our wedding day, it felt like we had known each other forever. Alice is warm, genuine, and insightful. She makes you feel like part of her family from the moment you meet her. She was very capable of reigning in our scattered thoughts, but also extremely respectful of our wishes, and was able to guide us through creating the most gorgeous ceremony from scratch. Alice is also extremely professional and organized, and provided us with numerous resources for ceremony elements, readings, vows, and beyond. She also gave us complete breakdown of the ceremony and a provided a timeline for our venue, which made the whole event run flawlessly. During our ceremony, Alice made us feel so comfortable, and we could not have picked a better person to lead the most special moments of our day. Afterwards, so many of our guests commented that it was one of the most meaningful and touching ceremonies they had ever been too...and we could not agree more! We cannot thank you enough Alice!

Alice absolutely made our wedding. Her attention to detail and her desire to craft an experience that was always focused on our story and our wishes was really remarkable. At no point did Alice "miss" anything. Her time and work to make our very small event completely ours was something that left us, at every moment, asking each other if she had time for any other work! Thank you Alice!

We could not have been more pleased with our experience using Alice as our wedding officiant. We are a reformed Jewish couple who did not want to be married by a Rabbi or for the service to be dominated by religion, while still wanting to incorporate many traditional Jewish customs. Alice allowed us to create a ceremony that was the perfect mix of everything we wanted. The ceremony was extremely personal, intimate and lovely. Alice wrote a ceremony that truly address everything we were looking for and more. It was unique and loving. We spent the entire cocktail hour and reception fielding compliments from our guests on how loving, special and personal the ceremony was. We could not recommend Alice any stronger and would encourage any couple to use her services!

Can only think of good things to say about Alice. We met once before and corresponded by email. On the day itself, she made the ceremony so special. It felt like a friend was talking about us. Alice was fantastic from start to finish. She responded to our email very quickly and set up a face-time call immediately. She asked what type of ceremony we wanted, and the type of feel we were going for. She was so inviting, engaging and truly happy to hear our story. From all the vendors we dealt with (we had an outdoor ceremony, tented reception, so lots of vendors), she was one of the most organized and professional. She was in constant communication with us and responded quickly to any emails with questions. She drafted our ceremony from start to finish and shared with us all of it - we edited anything we wanted and asked for suggestions from anything from readings to vows, to how religious we want the ceremony to be, etc. During our wedding day, Alice was PERFECT! She was again professional, genuinely happy for us and made our ceremony so personable. She honestly made our dream wedding come true! Any couple looking to hire an officiant MUST book Alice - you won't regret it.

We found our way to Alice Soloway because we wanted a non-traditional wedding officiant. What we ended up with was a truly remarkable ceremony, one that exceeded all possible expectations. Alice is a master of her craft - organized, insightful and honest. She somehow pulls off the rare combination of a consummate professional who remains consistently approachable and pleasant. It only took a few brief minutes for our connection with Alice to take hold. She patiently guided us through every element, sharing resources and offering advice when asked, but ultimately coaxing us towards decisions we felt most comfortable with on our own terms, and (in the case of our vows) in our own words. We feel so lucky to have found Alice. She was amazing during the whole process. She wanted to know what we wanted out of the ceremony, what kind of vibe and how we wanted our guests to feel during it. She provided us with a "wedding worksheet" with several questions about our relationship to help her personalize our ceremony. We wanted to write our own vows and she helped us with this as well. Our ceremony was absolutely beautiful. It was perfect. We received several compliments afterwards with some guests saying it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. Alice is the best. We would not have changed a thing. You cannot go wrong with her!
