  Alfred & Emma were one of the first vendors we booked during the crazy wedding planning process, and they remain to be one of the best decisions we made! My husband (still weird to call him that) had been in a wedding shot by Alfred & Emma a couple of years ago and really liked working with them. We love the photos of theirs we've seen (they shot engagement photos and wedding photos for two of his cousins), so we made sure to get them locked down for our wedding as soon as we set our date.
  I was extremely comfortable with both Alfred and Emma when we met, and loved that they are a husband and wife team. It was really important to me that my husband and I both get "getting ready" pics, and since we were getting ready in different locations, having a team was very important.
  Emma is quite possibly the best communicator we worked with out of all of our vendors! She is on top of everything. Because our wedding took place after the daylight savings time change, sunset was scheduled for 4:59pm the day of our wedding, and Emma was super on top of it. She and Alfred made sure we made it to the reception venue in time to get outdoor photos before and during sunset, and they brought an assistant to help with lighting and we took a few night shots too (our venue was the Oakland Zoo Snow Building which overlooks the city of Oakland and you can see San Francisco in the distance).
  We did not do engagement photos with Alfred and Emma, so one of the things were were a little worried about was the "dramatic" wedding photos. My husband was especially worried because he's more of a goofball than anything, so he was afraid he'd look super awkward trying to look serious. Alfred and Emma made us feel super comfortable though, so I wasn't as worried.
  We got our "teaser" photos from them just a few days after the wedding, and they are amazing!!! We absolutely cannot wait to see the full set! Not an awkward photo in the bunch! I highly recommend Alfred & Emma to anyone!

  By far the best photographers around!!!
  Alfred and Emma were absolutely amazing from the get-go. Their assistant Jen that we met the day of our wedding was also awesome. We could not have asked for a better photography team to work with.
  I learned about them through a friend and checked out their website...lets just say that I fell in love at first site. They have such a different style that other photographers that I have seen. They are unique and capture such wonderful things instead of the typical posy stuff.
  They are absolutely worth every single penny that we had spent. Our package came with an engagement session, day of wedding, provided all photos, as well as a coffee table book that we will choose the photos for. These guys are like clock-work and are very professional but have no problem getting personal with you as well. I could not be happier with the decision we had made to have them part of our special day that just passed on August 25th, 2012. They helped make our day even more special and helped it run soo smoothly. I highly recommend them to anyone. AMAZING!!!

  We just got our pictures back from our wedding, and can't believe how well Alfred captured the whole event.
  
  To be honest, I found Alfred & Emma Photography by doing a Google search for "elopement packages". We had a very small wedding with no reception, so we only needed a photographer for a couple of hours. But the amount of amazing pictures that Alfred was able to capture in those 2 hours thrilled us. Alfred and Emma are definitely a talented team, and their prices are affordable for high quality work.
  
  They both also have great personalities. Alfred really put us at ease and laughed with us, which was exactly what we wanted for our casual wedding. Also, during the ceremony I didn't even notice him snapping pictures - he wasn't at all in the way, yet he got great pictures.
  
  My husband and I can't recommend them enough. They're people you can trust, which means that there's one less thing to stress about on your big day.

  Long before we selected colors, venue, band, dj, etc...there was Alfred Salom Photography. We weren't sure how the wedding would turn out, but we we gonna make sure that the pictures were awesome. And they were! This husband and wife team were so great to work with and their creativity is evident in the pictures. If you are on the fence about hiring a photographer or just using your cousin, then this vendor is not for you. If you are insistent that your wedding is captured by seasoned professionals that you know will give your eyes a feast of visual magic, then Alfred Salom Photography is for you.   Friends of ours worked with Alfred and Emma, and once we saw their engagement slideshow, we loved it so much that gave the Saloms a call! We had barely started looking for photographers for our wedding, but despite our utter lack of research, we were not disappointed at all. Our friends and families adored the pictures as well; my mom has our slideshow as a bookmark on her browser toolbar :) From day one, the Saloms were fun and relaxed and their pictures are really top-notch. They are very professional photographers, well worth every penny. We especially love the slideshows they created for us (engagement and wedding) - their creative skills truly shine.
  
  If you are in the market for some fantastic photographers, look no further! We could not have been happier with the Saloms and their phenomenal work :) If we're still living in the Bay Area whenever life's next photographic event comes along, we'll definitely book with Alfred and Emma again.

  First off, if you are looking for a photographer for ANYTHING, your search stops here! I would recomend Alfred Salom Photography to anyone!!
  We used them for our November wedding (and our engagement session). Now, let me tell you- the whole wedding planning process was fun to me, and I looked forward to every minute if it. BUT, I was scared to death about finding the right photographer for us. Pictures were very important to my then fiance and I, and we didn't have a whole lot of room in our budget to spend on a photographer that had the style and expertise that we wanted- we THOUGHT. That was, until we met Alfred and Emma!
  From the first communication to set up an appointment, Emma (Alfred's wife) responded ASAP (within a half hour I believe!?). When we met them, we felt relaxed and at ease. That's important since beign the subject of a photography session can make one feel pretty vulnerable! We were amazed with the photos we were shown and impressed with their story. Their style was exactly what we wanted and for such an affordable cost. As we left the first meeting while walking to our car, we looked at eachother and both said at the same time - "Let's book them!". We felt like we hit the photog jackpot!
  The experience we had with Alfred as our photographer was awesome- he is so creative and he seems to adapt to every setting, coming up with unique poses and capturing color, light, and most important- emotion. My husband and I still look at our proofs every day since the wedding and I can remember with each picture what I was feeling and thinking at that exact moment. Our day was captured on film in the most beautiful way!

  I was nervous about hiring a photographer, I had a TIGHT budget, especially since my grandfather was paying for is as our gift, and he's old school.."I'll bring a disposible camera" type of guy. So, I did a TON of reasearch and got a recommendation for a bride on the knot. I took a look at Al's portfolio. They were still kinda new to the photography scene, portfolio wasn't extensive since Al was a second shooter and wasn't allowed to keep his images. But, I knew I wanted to book on the spot. I waited patiently though and talked to my fiance and grandfather on the way home, by the time get got to the house, I was calling Emma (Al's wife). I blog stalk Al's work weekley, and everytime we look at the site, we're very happy we hired and LUCKILY found them!
  
  Emma handles the business side of the Photography's business...and I LOVE HER! But she already knows that =) She responds soo quickly and thoroughly..and I do bug her a lot.
  
  My only regret is not getting an engagement session done =( We had gotten one for free and I wish we had hired Al and Emma and done the second shoot cuz I know it would have been way better than the one we had.

  I can't put it in words how much the pictures Alfred shot mean to us. I have never worked with a photographer before and did not know what to exspect. I set up a meeting with Alfred and Emma to meet and decide if I wanted to hire them and from the moment I sat down with them I knew they were the one. There is something about Alfred that makes you so confortable and it shows in his pictures. During the whole process they both we so proffessional and down to earth. He shot our wedding and he actually went out to the wedding sight about a month before to check it out which was something I just thought was remarkable. He really cares about his clients and I just let him roll with it. I hate people taking pictures of me and was dreading to see myself and this was something important I should have shared with them. Alfred made me feel so comfortable and beautiful in front of the camera I totally forgot I hate taking pictures. What he did was capture our personality on film and was also able to capture the love, romance and joy in a picture and that is something I can hold in my hand and treasure the rest of my life....

  Alfred & Emma are the best photographers a couple can ask for. Emma is responsive to emails right off the bat, and they both have wonderful personalities that put us right at ease. Having someone follow you around the whole day taking photos of you is awkward, be sure to find someone who can bring out your personality. They give clear instructions and Alfred really has an eye for photography.

  The pictures provided Alfred and Emma that were staged at the front of the alter were the best. They were well focused and lighted.
  
  However, the some of the posed shots and most of the candid shots were not well positioned, with no attention given to the background of the shots. Alfred also uses a technique of focusing on one subject while intentionally not focusing on the other. For pictures of couples, this is not desirable in most cases.

  Thank you for the review. We always try to be as honest and open about the type of coverage we provide (sharing full galleries of different types of weddings--both at the consultation and if requested by email), so it disheartens us that the experience you received was not what you were expecting.
  
  We'll definitely take the feedback you sent as a learning point for our business going forward. Since I am uncertain as to the particular characteristics of your wedding coverage, I can't speak to the lighting point mentioned. However, selective focal point is indeed a style that we use in some of our photos, but is not used in all of bride/groom photos that we shoot. Some clients love it, but we also understand that it might not be for everyone so we like to offer a variety of candid and posed photos.
  
  Wedding photography is very personal and subjective, and we want all our clients to leave with a positive experience. If there is something we can do to remedy the situation, please feel free to email us directly.
