Beautiful playing, great to work with!

Alexandre Marr played beautifully at our wedding in June! For the ceremony he collaborated with violinist Jahna Stanton and cellist Brendon Phelps. They prepared beautiful gathering music and played my chosen selections for processional and postlude. As a fellow classical pianist, Alexandre made sure all the selections were approved by me first, which I really appreciated. He was very flexible and easy to communicate with from the beginning, and even pre-ceremony as the coordinator and I were giving him updates about when the bridal party was ready to start walking down. He was very flexible and professional. He also played during the cocktail hour with Miss Stanton, and our guests were delighted to hear the live music as they waited for the dinner to start. I highly recommend Alexandre Marr - he has a wide range of repertoire of different styles and genres, he is well connected with the musical community in the greater Cleveland area, easy to collaborate and work with, and his playing is of the highest quality.

Wedding Music

Alex just played at my son's wedding (10/15/2022). He also played for my daughter's wedding 2 years ago. I can't recommend him highly enough. He is so easy to work with and has a very pleasant personality. His music is beautiful, and he will play whatever you choose and/or give you suggestions if you're stumped or need ideas. He arrived on time, played while our guests arrived, played for the ceremony and cocktail hour too. Again, he did a fabulous job and I received many compliments from the guests as well. You will be extremely happy with his work.

Absolutely incredible pianist

I had the honor to use Alexandre for live music. Words can’t even express how happy I am with the music- piano and violin -I had at my ceremony with Alexandre and his friend. Not only did they play every song I had requested, they did it so beautifully and just everything about them was incredible. It was so nice to have musicians who showed their love for their music. Instant tears with every song, not even joking! Everyone who attended my ceremony kept going on & on about how incredible they were. The communication between us was also incredible. Alexandre is one of the nicest humans and has such great talent, I’m just super lucky to have had him play at my ceremony. So thank you Alex. You both were insanely talented and I wanna relive that day over and over to just hear the music again & again. You’re the best!

Alexandre was such a pleasure to work with for our wedding! He was responsive, professional, and very flexible with last minute changes. He sounded absolutely beautiful and was able to play everything that I requested. I would absolutely recommend to anyone needing a pianist for their event!

1000/10 amazing!

The ceremony music was one of the most important things to me on our wedding day. After looking online, I came across Alex’s name and was immediately impressed! After watching some of his videos online and on Instagram, I absolutely knew I HAD to have Alex play at our wedding. I envisioned the music on our wedding day for a very long time, and knew Alex would be able to bring my vision and dreams to life. It’s obvious he’s extremely talented and has so much passion for music and his art. Not only is he talented, but he’s extremely kind and professional; he responded to my inquiry very quickly, and was so easy to contact throughout the entire process. He recommended the most beautiful songs for our ceremony. All of our wedding guests were so blown away by him. He played along with a violinist; the two of them together was just breathtaking. I could go on and on about how thrilled I am that I came across him online. He is absolutely wonderful and was such a pleasure to work with!

Amazing Pianist!

You need to book Alex! He is such a wonderful and very professional pianist. It was wonderful because we also wanted a violinist and he has partners he works with to put together any ensemble you're looking for. I had a different request to walk down the aisle to a Backstreet Boys song and he went above and beyond to slow it down to be the perfect tempo. It sounded beautiful and it made for instant tears. He was even flexible enough to add on the cocktail hour last minute as well. He was such an easy vendor to work with and took a huge weight off of my shoulders during the planning process.

Extremely Talented!

Alex was a wonderful addition to our wedding! You can tell he’s spent many years mastering his craft of music. He was so professional and easy to work with. I always felt like I could easily communicate with him and he eased my worries by quickly responding to all of my many questions. We added a violinist to our ceremony who was also a delight to work with. I would highly recommend the piano/violin duet as it really takes the experience to the next level. Beautiful talent

We cannot give a high enough rating of Alexandre! We had very limited time to get everything planned and Alexandre went out of his way to make sure we had every detail planned. Alexandre’s gift of music was an absolute treasure to have at our special day. Ceremony didn’t start on time yet he was able to continue playing without any issue. The music for the ceremony was timely and so enjoyable to listen to as we went about the moment. Alexandre made the entire process of picking out music easy and without stress. Truly we could sit and listen to him play for hours, he is extremely talented and really helped make the ceremony all we had envisioned it to be!! We will forever be thankful for his willingness to play at our wedding!

Piano and Violin - Superb!!

Can’t say enough about the beautiful music made by Alex and his accompanying violinist. They played at my daughter’s wedding and everyone commented on how lovely their music was. Alex was a pleasure to work with as well!

Wonderful piano player and great to work with!

Alex always responded to emails and phone calls when planning, and played wonderfully at our daughter's cocktail hour! He went out of his way to find the music that they liked, and was always very courteous and professional. It was great to have him be part of the wedding day!

Remarkable performance and artist

Alexandre recently performed for our wedding and created an atmosphere that felt uniquely arranged for us. We chose Alexandre for his diverse repertoire and expertise, though we were equally impressed with his collaboration during the planning process. Early on, we discussed the type of atmosphere we had hoped to create for our ceremony and also during our cocktail hour. Alexandre was receptive to our ideas and guided us through the details of the day. While discussing the general atmosphere of cocktail hour, I was most impressed when he spontaneously jumped to the piano and began improvising possible selections. We knew then we were in good hands!

Both Alexandre’s enthusiasm and talent helped make our vision come alive from the start, yet we were still blown away by his performance during the big day. He orchestrated such a lively yet intimate atmosphere that complimented our style and our relationship. One of my favorite moments of the day was walking down the aisle, and Alexandre timed each moment perfectly. A truly remarkable performance!

Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience with Alexandre. His creativity and dynamic character helped create a truly memorable day.

Professional, responsive and flexible!

Alexandre was great. I had misread the time for my booking and he was courteous and accommodating even with the last minute notice. He made the arrangements and pulled through for us. Overall a very polite and professional pianist, look no further, highly recommended!!

Amazing pianist!

Alex played piano during our wedding ceremony and it was nothing short of beautiful! He also collaborated with a vocalist and with minimal rehearsal time, performed the most impressive pieces! Everyone came up to me saying that they would’ve thought they had performed together before. He recommended songs when we didn’t know exactly what to play, and was so helpful! I definitely recommend hiring Alex for your wedding ceremony music needs!

Alex made our wedding ceremony very special!

Alexandre (Alex) Marr helped to make our son’s and daughter’s-in-law wedding spectacular by playing piano at their ceremony. Early during the wedding plan phase, we knew we wanted a pianist; we also wanted our niece, who is a professional singer, to be a soloist during portions of the ceremony. My responsibility was to find a talented pianist who could play literally anything before and after the wedding ceremony, accompany our soloist, plus bring his own piano since our venue didn’t have one available. I am so grateful I located Alex. He was an absolute joy to work with throughout the process. Alex provided beautiful ideas to make our family’s wedding unique and elegant, especially for the wedding recession. Furthermore, he was extremely professional as he helped define microphone and amplifier requirements to benefit the soloist. Through a series of emails and texts, Alex and our soloist corresponded long distance to plan their duets. Our guests all thought they had worked together as a team for a long time and were shocked to learn they just met! We heartily recommend Alexandre Marr.

Wedding Ceremony

I have so many great things to say about Alex! My husband and I hired him for our wedding ceremony music and a cocktail hour. He was very responsive, had great recommendations and worked with the soloist to play all of our requests for our rustic/barn wedding - A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, Everything by Michael Buble, I Melt by Rascal Flatts and Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis. We ended up paying for a package of Alex, a soloist (Katelyn) and photographer (Dominic) and I could not be happier with the price, professionalism and quality. As a bride, I was never worried about anything! (Which is hard to come by). Everyone showed up on time, ran super smooth, and we had so many compliments! Hands down recommend for anyone and any style.

Wedding Ceremony

Alexandre is a brilliant musician. He is personable, dependable, and extremely easy to work with.
For our daughter and her husband-to-be, Alexandre beautifully played all their ceremony song choices. Additionally, he was helpful in suggesting other pieces that complimented their personalities and everyone enjoyed.
The guests continued to talk about Alexandre and his amazing talent after he departed. We would not hesitate to ask him to play again at a future event.

Fantastic Wedding Pianist!

My fiancé and I hired Alexandre for our wedding ceremony & reception. He was recommended by friends who hired him for their ceremony. Alex took time to prepare the music we wanted for our wedding. He was open to suggestions for songs we liked and did use them. On our wedding day, he was prompt and professional and the music was outstanding! Our guests enjoyed his music very much and Alex took requests at the reception! Our guests continuously asked who is this person? He is an amazing artist and we would not hesitate to hire him again for any special event!

Alex provided background music for our cocktail hour. He is a very talented pianist. We received many compliments on his playing. He was very professional and easy to work with. He even took a request for some Star Wars music from our 5 year old! Would definitely hire him again. Great job!

Alexandre is amazing. He planned at my daughter's wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. He was able to find a violinist to accompany him at the ceremony, which was a wonderful touch. Note that the price below was $500 for Alex and $180 for the violinist.

Alexandre is a phenomenal pianist. We hired him for our wedding reception. He worked with us to choose songs that we would like (classical, some Ludovico Einaudi). He was on-time, courteous, and I would certainly recommend him to anyone in search of a pianist.

Alex arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule, was able to play anything at our party that anyone requested him to play and he played everything exceedingly well. He was able to communicate with my guest while he was playing. It was as if we had a late 19th Century Parlor in our home. It was an exciting and memorable evening fro my wife, myself and all of our guest. Alex FAR exceeded our expectations! Alexandre was a huge part of our wedding ceremony, which was broadcast live on my company's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Cysterwigs/videos/1718441131533462/). He did a beautiful job, especially considering the high level of difficulty some of our classical selections required. The piano at the venue was lovely, but a little stiff and in need of some TLC. Luckily, Alexandre knew how to make the most of this situation and rose to the occasion splendidly. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, competent classical pianist for their event. The music was a huge part of setting the scene for our formal winter wedding and he did an amazing job.

NOTE: We paid quite a but for his services, but it was because we requested a lot of very challenging music to be played for nearly 3.5 hours. If you think about it that way, we more than got our money's worth for this service.

Alexandre is a very skilled pianist and he was very easy to work with. He promptly responded to all of my emails, and he was very personable and willing to work with us. He played at our wedding pre-ceremony, ceremony and cocktail hour, and our guests gave very positive feedback and loved the music that he played! Alexandre came recommended by a trusted family friend and musician. He did not let us down. He was easy to reach and easy to work with. My daughter took a bit too long to decide on what music she wanted for her wedding and when we tried to find someone, no one was available. After checking on Weddingwire.com, we found the answer to my/our prayers. Since my daughter lived out of state, I called Alexandre and explained our situation to him. Alex was very professional; he always responded promptly to any text or emails that I sent him and we also spoke several times on the phone. Being the mother of the bride and knowing nothing about music, Alex set my mind at ease. He reassured me that everything would work out and he was right. The music was beautiful and it sounded as if Alex was right there at the wedding with us.

I would highly recommend Alexandre Marr to anyone who is in need of a musician for their wedding. Just don't wait too long to book him, but if necessary, having him record the music was definitely the next best thing to him actually being there!

My daughter took a bit too long to decide on what music she wanted for her wedding and when we tried to find someone, no one was available. After checking on Weddingwire.com, we found the answer to my prayers. My son and daughter-in-law were so impressed with his knowledge and talent. This may sound weird but he didn't stand out which is what you want for the happy couple. He was great! I'd ask him again but my daughter is married and I have no more kids. LOL.

Alexandre in a word - fantastic! Professional, great attitude, uber talent & very accomodating are just a few other words to describe Alexandre. He provided beautiful renditions of songs while guests were being seated & also played for the ceremony. Accompanied a vocalist & also a flute lead whom he rehearsed with before the wedding.. So pleased! I recommend if you want to not stress or worry about the music at your wedding you should hire him. He is very easy to work with and prompt in responding to communications. Hire him - you'll be glad you did.

Alex is truly an amazing pianist and was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was so helpful when it came to choosing songs and was open to learn anything we wanted to hear. Having him play during our ceremony made the ceremony that much more memorable and perfect! Thank you Alex!

Alexandre was very professional and timely in his responses. He played a wide variety of songs that I requested for my wedding ceremony. He was familiar with all of them. I had several songs ranging from the Ave Maria to At the Beginning from the Anastasia soundtrack. My soloist who sings professionally said he was very talented, flexible, and creative. She loved working with him. People are still talking about the music at my wedding. You will not be disappointed if you hire Alexandre.

Alex is the consummate professional and has that rare skill of being able to intently listen to deliver exactly what you want, but also make suggestions that infuse creativity into your event. Alexandre was wonderful. He played during the cocktail hour of our wedding. He's professional, flexible, and responsive. He plays beautifully. What I loved about him is he played everything from musicals, to Disney, to hard rock, to alternative, to whatever type of music you wanted. You will not be disappointed.

Alex was great and I'd definitely recommend him! He was professional, flexible, and really helped to guide us in the music selection process which I greatly appreciated. He suggested musical arrangements that fit our personality as a couple too, which made everything feel very personal. We also hired a vocalist he recommended and the two of them were a beautiful duo. They did a hair-raising version of Ave Maria that was absolutely beautiful. My only suggestion would be to work through beforehand if you want background type music at any specific parts of the ceremony beforehand, there was one part of our mass that was silent and I wish I would have asked him to play something during that moment. All in all, Alex was great to work with and my family gave a lot of compliments to our ceremony music which was all thanks to him!

I booked Alexandre for our wedding nearly a year in advance, but unfortunately had to ultimately cancel. Approximately 6 months before our event, I learned that he booked another performance immediately following our wedding, only leaving a 30 minutes for travel time from Massillon to Akron. It seemed as if this was an oversight because he asked me to remind him the date of our wedding. I was very concerned that in the case of inclimate weather, our ceremony could be delayed and push back our timeline, and he would either miss his other performance of leave ours early. Even if he would have agreed to cancel the other event, it left me feeling worried that perhaps our event wasn't a priority for him.

I obviously cannot speak to his ability to play piano, but I found it incredibly unprofessional to accidentally book two events back to back with little room for travel time or unexpected emergencies.

For clarification, I did inform you that the event I was planning to attend following your wedding was a volunteer event at which I was not expected at any specific time. It was not an accidental booking, and I am not clear as to why you were concerned for my attendance or travel time to this next event. I assured you that I would provide exactly what we had discussed for your wedding, regardless of any delays/inclement weather. Again, the event following yours was not a mandatory event for me - simply something I was planning to attend after yours was finished. Again, I'm sorry that you felt the need to cancel our booking.
