Where do I even begin??! Alex is absolutely incredible. By far, the best decision I made during our wedding planning was hiring Alex to handle all of our music! Music is a hugely important thing in my life - I’m always the one at events that people turn to to “DJ” and play music, make a playlist, etc etc. So handing over the reigns to someone to be in charge of the music on MY wedding day was NO easy task. Alex was truly a no brainer for me. I wanted one person in charge of it all - the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and the reception. Alex exceeded all of our expectations. For the ceremony, I wanted to walk down the aisle to a popular song - but the piano version, no lyrics - I found a piano cover of the song on YouTube, and I sent it to Alex and was like “hey, can you learn this?” LOL - but not only did he learn it, he completely crushed it! It was perfection. Alex also played acoustic guitar at our cocktail hour - we let him pick the songs and do his thing, and we received SO many compliments on how great he sounded. Everyone loved it. Then Alex DJ’d our reception. BEST. DJ. EVERRRR. We put together a Spotify playlist of songs we wanted to hear during the night - I also told Alex what songs/artists we definitely did NOT want to hear - and he did fantastic! Literally the dance floor at our wedding was packed the ENTIRE night! My stepmom couldn’t even believe it - she said it was the most fun she has ever had at any event ever, and we had multiple people tell us that they have never been to a wedding where the dance floor was legit popping ALL night. The absolute highlight of my entire wedding was dancing so hard and belting “Mr. Brightside” on the dance floor with my closest friends and family - all of this thanks to Alex. If you want to feel confident that your music for your entire event will be in the absolute BEST (and extremely talented) hands, then look no further, and hire Alex immediately. His level of professionalism and musical talent is truly something to be admired. He is a Jack of all trades! -

What can I say about Alex that hasn’t already been said by every single guest at our wedding? From the moment he started, he took control of the night and turned our reception into the ultimate party. He didn’t just play songs—he owned the vibe, read the crowd perfectly, and delivered an unforgettable experience that had everyone on their feet, dancing, and even chanting for “one more song” at the end of the night.
Our wedding was the perfect mix of love, joy, and celebration, and Alex made sure the energy stayed high all night long. He had a perfectly curated playlist and expertly mixed in requests from our guests. No matter what genre or style they wanted, he handled it like a pro. He even kept the transitions smooth and seamless, never missing a beat.
People couldn’t stop talking about how great the music was, and we received so many compliments on how the entire night felt so effortlessly fun. Our feet were sore from dancing, but we wouldn’t have had it any other way. Alex didn’t just DJ our wedding; he made it a celebration that people will be talking about for years to come.
If you're looking for a DJ who can read the room, keep the party going, and leave your guests begging for more, Alex is your guy. He made our wedding a night to remember, and I have no doubt he’ll do the same for yours. Highly, highly recommend! -

Alexander Ruwe and The Red Jackets were absolutely amazing to work with. From the planning to the execution, everything we dreamed of was accomplished even better than we planned it. From asking for a lot of songs to be done live rather than recorded and having their services during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and our reception, we were so happy with our choice in choosing the Red Jackets. They are so interactive and just lovely people to be around. I enjoyed every minute of it and enjoy seeing them at local St. Louis offerings; it helps us hold on to a little bit of the fun from our wedding day! THANK YOU ALEX, for making allll of our dreams come true. You made it ALL happen and I had a lot of asks 🙂 You could tell the band was having just as much fun as we were having. When catching up with our friends and family from our wedding day, they comment on how perfect the music was from our ceremony (thank you Alex!) and how fun and energetic the dancing was at the reception (thank you band!) we had the dance floor full all night long!! I think we are all still chanting *encore!* -

If 5 stars = "The best ever!", then that is certainly true of Alex! We were referred to Alex by a couple of our friends who had him play at their wedding. They couldn't speak more highly of him, and we now share that sentiment. Alex went above and beyond for us, every step of the way. He recorded multiple samples of music so we could choreograph our dance. He learned to play a song in different timing so we could waltz to it, and he and the crew learned many of the family favorites. He checked in with us multiple times before the wedding to see if there was anything he could do to help. So many of our guests commented on how great they were! We cannot recommend Alex and his crew more highly! If he is still available for your event date, book him quickly. And, if he is not available, I would recommend moving your date to fit Alex's availability. They are that good! -

Alex is PHENOMENAL!!!!! We will forever look back on our wedding day so fondly and are so grateful Alex lent his AMAZING voice to our ceremony, cocktail hour, and first dances. He is unbelievably talented. Not to mention he really gets the party started DJing the reception! His energy is contagious, he is incredibly responsive, and was a huge help during the planning process. Highly recommend! -

Alex was amazing! I felt like I took forever to find a DJ for my wedding because I wanted to be sure that everything was perfect. I am SO happy that I found Alex. Honestly, if you’re like me and are extremely indecisive, you should stop your search and hire Alex! Not only did he play music during our ceremony and DJ during our reception, but he also played acoustically and performed for our guests.. everyone LOVED IT! He kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night! He was so personable and easy to talk to. He actually took the time to meet with my husband and I prior to our wedding date just to make sure he could figure out what we did and didn’t like and allow all of us to get comfortable and get to know each other. Throughout the entire evening I had so many compliments about how great Alex was. He fit right in and felt more like family by the end of the night. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone! -

Alex was amazing since our first email interaction. He has a super positive attitude and was very professional. He was patient with our indecisiveness and worked with us on songs that were not currently on his playlist. He made everything so easy and stress-free. The day of went AMAZING! He set the perfect ambiance for our ceremony and cocktail hour - I wish he hadn't already been booked for the evening - I would have loved him to stay for the entire day! Don't hesitate - book with Alex if you are lucky enough that he is available! -

My husband and I got married in the middle of the pandemic and Alex went above and beyond to accommodate all of the changes. He was so fun and easy to work with and our guests LOVED him! From the acoustic ceremony to the dj’d reception, Alex absolutely killed it!! -

The Alexander Ruwe Band – Our Favorite Vendor
The cost of Alexander Ruwe band was perfectly in line with what we were expecting to pay, and the quality was top notch. His song book range was impressive, and the band was willing to learn some songs by our request. Alex custom blended three different songs into one for our first dance track which was absolutely perfect. He made three different edits to ensure it transitioned seamlessly, and took all of our feedback to heart. Our dance floor was packed the entire time, and everyone complimented our incredible live band. The emcee-ing was perfect (not too obnoxious, which is a complaint I have regarding most weddings we attend). The mix of live music + pre-recorded tunes was just right, as well a nice balance of fast dance tracks and crowd-pleasing slow dance songs. The groom's uncle surprised everyone with a guitar solo, which got the dance floor started, and Alex + his band joined right in as if it were planned. My husband and I are particular about what music we like, and Alex really understood our vibe from the playlists we created for him and the worksheet we filled out. Not only was our experience with Alex seamless, but the professionalism displayed was the best of all our wedding day vendors. The whole experience was high quality, just like Alexander and his band. Working with Alex was a true joy, and I hope to use his services again!

Alex was impeccably great. He had an extremely positive attitude, was very accommodating, and has an instinct for managing the energy of the dance floor to great effect. He hit all of his music cues for the ceremony, and made the reception a party. Would absolutely recommend him as a DJ for any event. I literally have only good things to say about him. -

Amazing vendor with an even better voice!
Oh my God, Alex was amazing. This is going to be a hard statement to write, because Alex was just so great in every way. He still has one of the best voices I've ever heard, it's smooth, dynamic, and he controls it so well. Alex is also one of the nicest guys I've ever come across. He always answers our emails/questions within a few days, is super easy to talk to, and has a great sense of humor. We genuinely consider him a friend at this point rather than a vendor. For our wedding, I was hesitant at first using a live band, since we would be limited in our song selection, but his song selections were SPOT on and everyone had such a great time. He had a solid mix of oldies that everyone knew and could sing along with, as well as current top 40 hits. He was also SUPER accommodating for the first dances for our wedding. He learned all of our song requests and made them his own (which we asked him to do) and they sounded amazing. He even took the time to meet up with one of our friends to play the music for a Chinese song for the mother/son dance. We literally could not have asked for anything more. In addition, Alex's price was MORE than reasonable. After talking with some friends in Chicago, we found that most bands charge $1,000 per band member, and Alex's quote so so reasonable compared to that. I literally cannot say enough about our experience with Alex and the quality that he brought to the job. We look forward to continuing to follow him on his musical journey and will recommend him to anyone planning ANY event, wedding or otherwise. Thanks so much Alex!

Alex played as a solo acoustic act for us, and he was the hit of our reception! We had so many people singing his praises (no pun intended)! Alex's song selection, overall sound, and sunny disposition made for an amazing addition to our special event. He set a beautiful mood for the guests, and couldn't have been more engaging. We are so thrilled that he was able to play for us at such a reasonable price; it was PERFECT! If you want a true, talented professional that has an amazing sound/vibe, CALL THIS GUY!
