Alex (and his awesome assistant Maddie) not only perfectly captured our wedding, but they truly helped us celebrate the joy and love we felt on the day. Alex is grounded, calm, and helped us stay focused on one another and our community. He acted like our secret protector, carving out time throughout the night for us to bask in all of the small and big moments.
In addition to being immensely talented, he is incredibly professional. Leading up to the wedding he was highly communicative (with both us and our planner) and took the time to get to know us. During the day, he played air traffic controller with our extended families without missing a beat. And he even shared a sneak peak of the previews by the next morning for us to celebrate before our honeymoon.
We are so grateful that Alex was our photographer. The photos are timeless, and he is just such a great human. -

I found Alex online because he was listed as a Philadelphia Photographer. He has since moved to Colorado and is doing beautiful work out there but I decided to reach out to him because he had already photographed at my wedding venue, Terrain at Styer's and I figured that would be convenient to have someone who already knew the area. Contacting Alex was one of the best decisions I made during the ENTIRE wedding process. He quickly got in touch with me and sent me a nice video message introducing himself, it was so kind and helped reduce the nerves around meeting someone new. Once we had a chance to chat and found common ground over our love for hiking and being in the mountains I knew he was the perfect choice. Not only was he focused on getting to know us as people and our love story to the fullest but wanted to make sure he understood what WE wanted from the day. I stopped looking for photographers after that because I was already sold on him, didn't matter what the cost was. Thankfully his prices were reasonable and he worked with us to mold a package that worked for us. For our engagement shoot, we decided to fly out to Colorado to meet up with him and did hours of photos up in the mountains. Alex was constantly finding inspiration for new shots or lighting and he made two very camera shy people feel good being photographed. We even took some stellar photos standing on top of a dumpster, a dumpster!!! It was a really awesome experience getting to hangout with him and he even brought us coffee on the early morning when we did sunrise photos. That just goes to show how selfless and kind he is! And he's just fun to hangout with, spending 2 days with him in Colorado was so fun, we laughed a ton and it didn't feel like we were posing at all. In the months leading up to the wedding he would reach out occasionally, offering help and guidance if we needed it. He sent over resources that were beyond helpful and helped me put a timeline together of the whole day. I never expected that our photographer would be as helpful in the planning of the wedding as Alex was for us. Finally, when we got to the day of our wedding Alex was a calm presence amongst the storm. I'm type A and can easily get stressed out and I remember during the family photos I was starting to get really tired and a bit cranky and he stepped right in, ran through the list of pictures and got us back into the air conditioning. I was thankful for that. He was also such a positive ray of light all day, always keeping the energy up during photos even when it felt like it was 100 degrees. And even during the night, him and our videographer, Joe were out on the dance floor with us!!! All of my guests kept mentioning to me how cool Alex was and how amazing it was that he just partied right along side us! And then to see all of the photos he captured from the day.... UNBELIEVABLE!! And I mean unbelievable. I can't understand how he was able to get such beautiful photos out of what I thought were silly moments or chaos, turned out amazing. He is such a professional at what he does, I can't thank him enough for his hard work and for the memories he was able to capture for us. The photos are incredible and I'm so glad we chose Alex to capture our day because we will have and love these photos for the rest of our lives!!! And genuinely, we will be using Alex for any photo needs we have moving forward, it just gives us another reason to head back out to Colorado!. -

Alex is amazing!
5 stars all around!!! We REALLY wanted Alex to be our photographer for our wedding next fall but came to find out he was already booked- total heartbreak!!! We did an engagement shoot (which we had to reschedule multiple times due to unforeseen circumstances on our end), and he was so flexible and communicative to get us rescheduled! We ended up having so much fun together! It was a relaxed/casual shoot at Chataqua park in Boulder. He truly captured our love and goofiness perfectly. Both of us felt so comfortable during the entire session. I highly recommend Alex for any of your photography needs!! -

Amazing photos, amazing person!
Looking for a wedding photographer full of joy, enthusiasm, professionalism, and care with an indescribably gorgeous aesthetic? Alex Medvick is your guy! Booking Alex for our engagement photoshoot and wedding photography was the best decision we made in our entire wedding process. When we began planning our wedding we had no idea that my husband’s immigration journey would end up taking 3 years (vs the 18 months we anticipated). Alex was entirely unfazed, waiting patiently for us and sending us notes of encouragement along the way. Alex went above and beyond so many times over to help us in peculiar circumstances and gifted us with truly gorgeous images that we will treasure forever. Thanks for everything, Alex! Alex was the most incredible wedding photographer anyone could ever ask for. He consistently went above and beyond, and made us feel truly comfortable. From the instant we met him, he was incredibly engaging and we knew we were in good hands. His communication and attentiveness to the needs of a couple getting married cannot be understated and it made working with him an absolute pleasure. We booked both an engagement session and a wedding package and all of the photos really captured the true nature of both us as a couple, and the event that we planned—his style of photography is absolutely stunning. He also routinely checked in during these processes to make sure that we were getting what we wanted out of our experience with him. The wedding album that he produced for us was an incredible product and all the prints we ordered also turned out amazing. All in all, Alex truly helped to make our special day even more special and we would strongly recommend him to anyone who wants to have an immaculate wedding photography experience. -

Alex was a total joy and ease to work with. We wanted casual, not too posed, fun candid shots That captured action and personality and he totally met that for us. Through postponement and changes he was kind, flexible, and laid back. He was able to shoot not only our day of but also the rehearsal dinner, which was important to us! He prompted us to think about what we wanted but also left room to make decisions in the moment. We felt very relaxed around him and our amazing second shooter, Aly. We ended up laughing and having so much fun shooting in various locations and in various ways- Alex was creative and spontaneous which matched our style and approach perfectly. The photos are gorgeous- particularly the way he works with color in his edits, it looks very natural but vibrant, we are totally in love with all of them! -

We are unconscionably late with this review because it took me this long (5 months) to be able to articulate how amazing it was to work with Alex. He is one of the most genuine people my husband and I have ever met. Working with him was an absolute dream. He made our engagement and wedding photos so comfortable, it felt like hanging with an old friend. Multiple couples in our bridal party fell so in love with him that they are interested in his services - including some that aren’t even engaged yet. Please, please, please book him for your wedding. From our first conversation, my husband and I knew that we made the right choice by selecting Alex as our photographer! Alex really takes the time and care to get to know his clients and makes the effort to ensure that his photos capture the true essence of a couple’s love story. His upbeat personality, warm smile and passion for his work comes through with every click of the camera. As someone who prefers being behind the camera, he made me feel at ease and comfortable…. often forgetting that I was having my picture taken. Our engagement photos were so gorgeous that we used them to create an album cover style invitation, which received rave reviews from our guests!
On the big day, Alex again proved that he was the right photographer for the job! He knew the best places around our venue to take photos and was willing to go with the flow. Alex was a huge ray of sunshine on a cloudy day and calming presence on a crazy day. The wedding party raved over Alex and how “cool” he was…his energy and vibe were felt by everyone he encountered! Many even commented how they wished they had a photographer like Alex on their wedding days!
My husband and I are beyond ecstatic with the sneak peeks that we have received from our wedding day! We can not wait to see the rest of the magical moments that Alex was able to perfectly capture from the big day. We are honored that so many of Alex’s pictures will be displayed and adored in our home for years to come!

The best ever
Alex was amazing from the start. He is just so cool and so easy to get along with. He really takes the time to understand you, your game plan, and exactly what you want to ensure PERFECTION. One thing that we were worried about was being awkward in front of the camera. But honestly, it’s impossible with Alex. He makes the experience so chill and fun that you kind of forget there’s a camera on you. Alex and Jared worked like a well-oiled machine on wedding day. My husband and I felt like we had a lot of family photos to get through, but the guys had a list of each shot we wanted and called for each family member by name. We got done so quickly, without being rushed, because Alex was just extremely prepared. Our family still talks about how impressed they were with him. We feel so lucky that we get to work with Alex again for bigger reception this year. I would recommend Alex Medvick Photography over and over again!! -

The perfect touch for our micro-wedding!
We highly recommend Alex! From his artistry, good humor, and his flexibility during a very uncertain time, Alex delivered the best quality photos under incredibly unprecedented circumstances. We got married the Saturday before Philly lockdown for the pandemic and SO many things went up in the air at the very last minute. Alex and our photography was the ONE part we didn't have to worry about at all! Everything was confirmed and reconfirmed and the photography aspect flowed flexibly as needed. We ended up with amazing photos, delivered in great time, that included everyone in attendance and served as a beautiful collection of memories of the day. 10/10 would hire again! -

Beautiful Photos - Amazing Personality
The photos Alex took were amazing in quality and styling. His personality is upbeat and friendly while maintaining excellent professionalism. We did our engagement shoot and wedding shoot with him, as well as a bridal boudoir shoot. He was always on time and willing to lend a hand with every aspect of the wedding, including helping to build our chuppah. Photos were turned around usually within two weeks (except for holidays), but when we were in a time crunch, he definitely pulled through and got them done for me over the weekend. I would definitely hire him again in the future! -

Incredible
Alex was absolutely wonderful to work with, he captured our love for each other and our families so amazingly well! Alex was extremely outgoing with us and our guests. All of our guests won't stop talking about how incredible Alex was and how beautiful the pictures are. I have recommended every bride to be to Alex Medvick Photography and I don't plan on stopping. Alex took pictures that are truly going to last a lifetime and we can't wait to find a reason to use him in the future! The crazy part, my husband and I planned a surprise wedding. Alex not only got almost everyone's reactions as they came through the door finding out we were getting married, but he still managed to get the sentimental moments with each of our parents. Alex Medvick was our photographer for engagement photos and our wedding day, and did a fantastic job capturing all of the special moments in our day. Alex will go above and beyond (and sometimes upside down) to get the right shots for your wedding! My husband and I had a very non-traditional wedding where we asked Alex and his team to document our contemporary circus-themed action-packed wedding. Alex came to the venue ahead of the big day multiple times to make sure he was familiar with the space, and even watched us rehearse our act a few times so he would understand the best angles to photograph from. I was so impressed with the photographs of the action shots and really appreciated his dedication to getting the best photographs. Additionally, I really appreciated his kind and lighthearted personality, which helped to relax the big-day jitters while he was directing my husband and I for wedding portraits. There were multiple compliments from guests about the fun photography team who directed some shots of groups of people while also capturing some fantastic candids. I also loved his highly saturated and light style of photography which really captured the feeling of the moment. His team did a fantastic job of covering all the details (and there were A LOT of details). -

Alex was such a pleasure to work with - I've never had someone respond to an inquiry by sending me a selfie video before, but that showed me how fun, personable, and thoughtful he was. His energy and vibe are contagious, and he was great and putting my husband and me at ease. He was extremely generous with his time - even though we didn't ask him to come early to take "getting ready" photos because we didn't have much of a bridal party, he came anyway and we found ourselves with some wonderful bonus shots with friends and family who were with us during that time. He captured every meaningful moment of our wedding, and it was only hard to figure out what to put into an album when it was all over! I would add that as an amateur photographer, I had pretty specific opinions about what I wanted, and did not want much of the stylized/over-edited/"light and airy" photography I saw from many wedding photographers. Alex is not that (thank goodness), and is a delight to work with. -

Graham Sent on 08/14/2018Alex is everything you want in a wedding photographer. He set up a super helpful engagement photo shoot, with no additional cost. Not only did he make these pics available to us, they gave us a chance to get used to each other so that the pictures on our wedding day were tuned to our style. Alex is so accommodating. Any fear about 'that awkward photographer' is smashed by Alex. He is funny (but doesn't try to be 'too funny'), thoughtful, captures and crafts moments, and is very responsive. Also, his second on our big day, Steve, was incredible. A real gentleman. Both worked with all church and reception vendor staff seamlessly and delivered a beautiful product.
