  As a native New Jerseyian, I decided to ditch the cold weather and have a destination wedding in San Diego, Ca in February 2016. As such, I had the undesirable task of hiring all my wedding vendors without getting to meet, taste, or listen to any potential services in person. The success of my wedding would be largely contingent upon my ability to choose the right vendors. Therefore, I spent the better part of the last few months conducting research to ensure that I chose vendors with proven track records of excellence and professionalism. I sifted through hundreds upon hundreds of reviews on various sites such as yelp, the knot, and weddingwire in order to narrow down my choices.
  Fast forward a few months and I finally had Alex Guillen’s website up on my screen. Aside from the glowing reviews Alex had from other brides, I needed to hear him play. I clicked through a few of his songs and I could tell that he was very technical in his ability to play. This appealed to me as I really wanted custom music for my ceremony. Like many brides, I got caught up in other wedding issues and only managed to get my song choices to Alex a few days before the wedding. His response “I can definitely do an instrumental version of this song no problem!” I can confidently say that I could have given Alex any song under the sun and he would have been able to play it. He’s that technically proficient.
  Ceremony day arrives and Alex is on time, dressed well, and performs very beautiful renditions of “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, “Bridal March” and “Stay Awhile” – Dave Matthews. I was not present prior to the ceremony (for obvious reasons) but was told by my husband that Alex took the initiative to play additional songs as we were running a bit behind due to an unruly flower girl. Playing additional music was not something we had agreed to beforehand but it really is just a testament to Alex’s professionalism and dedication to the performance he is giving that he went the extra mile

  Attention anyone reading this review... Do yourself a favor and just book Alex right now. He was AMAZING to work with from the beginning of the process through the wedding day. Alex recently played the ceremony music at our wedding in La Jolla, and I cannot say enough good things about him. From our first emails I could tell he was going to be great to work with. He is super responsive, very friendly and asked the right questions to get a thorough understanding of what we were looking for in a ceremony musician. Throughout the planning stages, I adored working with him. He had a wide range of songs that he knew, and even offered to learn other songs if we had a special request. I was a bit indecisive with selections for ceremony music, and Alex was patient and suggested songs that he had played before that might work, without being pushy. Fast forward to the wedding day... Alex was early to arrive, completely set up and ready to go well before the ceremony. We received many compliments on the music he played while guests were arriving, and our ceremony selections went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend Alex to anyone planning an event or wedding who is looking for a fabulous guitar player!!

  We are very happy we hired Alex to perform at our daughter's wedding. He was flexible accommodating a last minute change of schedule and did his own set up so we could concentrate on other things. His music repertoire was excellent and his performance outstanding. He is very professional and friendly. I do not hesitate to recommend him for another event.

  Alex was great to work with and did a fantastic job playing our ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. He helped me in picking out ceremony songs and was always available to answer questions or give advice. We let him be creative with the cocktail hour and dinner music and it fit into the theme of our day perfectly.

Alex is a talented guitarist and also provided us with an equally talented second guitarist and DJ for our reception since he was only available for our ceremony.   Alex played guitar during ceremony and cocktail hour on my wedding, he played classical and flamenco, he was very professional and always responded in a timely manner, I would recommend Alex to any bride that wants to add a special romantic touch to her wedding.

  Alex was great! I felt so comfortable with him from the moment we first spoke. He was so helpful and really talented. The only thing I would change is Alex living in San Diego because I'm in Arizona and we need more talented people like him here! Alex thank you again for helping make my wedding day the best day of my life :)

  Alex has amaizing talent. His guitar playing is beautiful. I highly recommend him for ceremony and cocktail hour. He played during the seating of my guests, walks down the isle and during cocktail. It was the perfect touch to open the wedding so romantic and beautiful. Thank you Alex!!!

  Alex played Spanish guitar while I walked down the beach aisle on my wedding day. He played so beautifully I asked him to stay longer and play for the 1st hour of my reception. He was so wonderful, polite and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend him!

  Alex played during our wedding cocktail at Balboa Park on Aug 4th. We and our guests enjoyed his music, he is a superb guitar player and in addition Alex has been great to work with during the preparation and the event itself. He was literally one of the few providers of our event that we didn't have to worry about! We definitely recommend him – and thank you again Alex!

  Alex performed for me at my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. He was amazing from start to finish. He contacted me via phone, within hours of me requesting a quote. He offered me so much more then what I was requesting, but still in my price range! He provided samples of the music he offered to play at the ceremony and played it perfectly. I asked for him to be creative during the cocktail hour and play the music that he is best at and he was amazing!

  Alex was absolutely fantastic!! We were so glad we found him to play for our ceremony and cocktail hour. We were looking for someone that could play some classical/spanish guitar, some traditional wedding songs (including special requests), and then kick it up a notch with some lively jazz and flamenco for the cocktail hour. Alex nailed it every time. He really set the mood for the wedding and got everyone ready for a fun reception. His girlfriend even helped us cue the bridal party so the timing was perfect!   Alex was fabulous and is a very talented guitarist. He played not only during our ceremony but also our reception. His music was romantic, moving, and fun and upbeat as well all rolled into one. He was also very personable and genuine as well. I would highly recommend him for any event you are considering as he can play a variety of songs on his classical guitar and is incredibly talented!
