Working with Ann was one of the BEST decisions we made during our wedding planning. We utilized her 30 day out and day of coordinating package. From the very beginning, she was incredibly detailed, organized, and personable. She offered thoughtful tips and suggestions throughout the process and genuinely cared about making sure we had the best day possible.
Ann has such calming presence as well—her voice and demeanor brought me such peace, both in the days leading up to the wedding and on the big day itself. We got married on the 25th of January and I still think about how amazing Ann was! I literally think about it about once a week still. Multiple of my friends have still made comments about how amazing she did and how well she handled my husband and I's wild family! She made the whole process so smooth, she advocated for my husband and I, and made it possible for my husband and I to just relax the day of the wedding and not worry about anything. I had the wedding of my dreams in large part due to Ann! I would recommend her to every person looking for a planner or a coordinator. You really will not regret it! -

Ann is a beautiful soul who does a beautiful job
Choosing a coordinator for my wedding was probably the hardest decision I had to make while planning. We were coming from Florida so we had no recommendations from friends and I had to put my trust in the internet. If you, like me are struggling, then look no further.
Ann was a god sent. She did not let me stress over a single thing and made the should be stressful idea of a destination wedding a breeze. She took my vision and brought it to life, she kept us on time and made sure i lived in the moment instead of worrying about things going according to plan. Ann has a beautiful soul and is easy to talk and laugh with. There are not enough stars to give her. -

Working with Ann was such a wonderful experience! She was incredibly knowledgeable, had so many connections and recommendations, was honest and upfront about budgeting and timelines, and was so incredibly organized and professional. Not to mention she was incredibly kind and comforting during the entire wedding planning process, which can feel a bit overwhelming at times. I cannot thank her enough for helping me with my beautiful wedding and reception last month. We hired Ann for partial planning and day of coordination, and it was the best possible decision we could have made. Ann was the epitome of professional, calm, and competent. She guided us towards an excellent wedding day and during the day itself, I am unaware of any problems that occurred (I’m assuming because Ann put out any and all fires). Here are some examples of what made Ann exceptional:
1. When I tried to create a day-of wedding timeline, Ann, said “do not worry about that. That is *my* job.” This allowed me to relax during the planning process and worry about things she was taking care of.
2. When my mom had specific questions in regards to the day of the wedding and my answers were not giving her the right information, Ann spoke with my mom directly so they could sort things out
3. I had specific concerns about the layout of the venue and Ann perfectly configured everything for our beautiful day.
You’re (hopefully) only going to get married once. Make the best of it by hiring someone whose expertise can deliver your best day for you :) -

The BEST decision we made was hiring Ann!
If you are looking to have a STRESS-FREE wedding and SAVE MONEY, do yourself and favor and hire Ann! We were planning a destination wedding in Savannah, so although we were reluctant to invest in a planner, we knew doing so would make our lives easier. We did not expect that hiring Ann would not only make this process easy but save us money along the way. Ann has a large portfolio of contacts and endless ideas to make any vision on any budget come together. From the initial consultation to our wedding day, she was on top of everything and always available.
We highly recommend Ann and the entire Akal Elegance team! THANK YOU, ANN! We could not have done this without you! -

The Best of Best
Ann was excellent. She was communicative, organized, and knows how to put it all together. She has an effective system that ensures every detail is accounted for, and she did a great job communicating the whole process and keeping us within budget. She had a lot of creative solutions and is a great problem solver, which are two important characteristics to have as a wedding planner. She is polite and kind, but knows how to be a bulldog with vendors when things need to get done. We couldn't imagine a more smoothly run wedding day; there was very little stress, and that's thanks to Ann. It was incredible how everything came together perfectly, beyond our imagination...and stress-free. We'd highly recommend Ann and thank her for all her patience, diligence, and eye for detail! -

Ann was absolutely amazing. She was always super responsive and organized. She took the stress of wedding planning and made it such a fun experience. Our wedding day was perfect, flawless, extremely fun, and even if something went wrong I never knew about it. I highly recommend Ann and Akal Elegance to help plan your wedding! -

Quality, Professionalism, and MAGIC!
Ann and her team were an absolute dream to work with! Our day was magic from start to finish because of how seamlessly everything flowed and her perfect eye for detail. Ann is a person who loves what she does and it shows! She took such good care of a frantic bride when things (inevitably) didn't go to plan, or when tracking down our rouge vendors!
Even working with her from afar communication was excellent, expectations were met or (in most cases) exceeded. Ann did all the flowers, decorated, planned the seating, and kept all our ducks in a row like a professional who has been doing this for years. I cannot imagine working with a better person to plan our wedding, and I'm sad that our time together has come to an end! THANK YOU, ANN! -

Excellent, well organized wedding planner!
Ann helped so much with all of the prep work. Making sure that everything was paid up on time, all the paperwork was signed and all the little details were covered. She handled all the changes and requests exceptionally and did everything she could to make sure everything was done as requested. Day of, she made sure that things ran smoothly and it was as stress free of a day for us as possible! She gave us the sweetest wedding gift with our vows printed out with our wedding colors! Would definitely recommend her! -

Akal wedding planner is the way to go . we had family coming from abroad for our big day and She made sure everyone was taken care of and settled at their hotel. We got all the time we needed to spend with family and friends that we had not seen for a while. On the day of out wedding everything was on point the coordination went beautifully her eye for detail is impeccable . I was very very please that we took the full package it was affordable and worth every penny. we really got to enjoy our wedding. Thanks again Ann. -

Ann was an incredible wedding planner during the planning process. She really helped us the entire year of planning getting all the details together and helping our dream wedding come to life. The only reason that we deducted some stars is due to how the day of our actual wedding went.
The pros: Ann will go to bat for you and will not allow a venue or vendor to take advantage of her couples. Everything at our wedding looked beautiful, the decor was even prettier than we envisioned it all coming together to be, and everyone looked great! With the things that did go wrong Ann took full ownership and scheduled a follow up meeting with us to hear us out and she was very genuine in her apologies to us.
The cons: I cannot look back at my wedding day and think of it as an enjoyable day. It's been three months and I still cry when I think about how terrible the day went. The main issue was that on the day of our wedding there was an extreme lack of communication from our planner/her team with our vendors and the wedding party. We both are still very disappointed at this. There were some issues with set up that caused the day to become rushed and then our photographer was an hour late so everything had to be moved back. Due to this I feel like the energy was more panicked and hurried through verses pausing and checking with my husband and I on what we would like to do/if we were okay with some executive decisions. I feel like all the detailed, well planning that we did went completely out the window. I was barely able to get pre-ceremony photos doing my dress reveal with my bridesmaids because we were being rushed to get to the ceremony site. When we arrived, the music immediately started (at the wrong time signature too) before we were off the golf carts and the entire line up was incorrect despite the way we rehearsed it and me having a very detailed graphic showing how the wedding party needed to line up and where we needed to stand. Everything was backwards and everyone including me and my husband were standing on the wrong side. In our meetings prior to the wedding weekend, as well as emailing and printing out/bringing to the rehearsal dinner how we wanted everyone standing/where we would like to stand during our ceremony, it was all completely wrong. There are no photos of me smiling walking down the aisle due to coming around the corner and seeing the line up completely messed up, the elements for our ceremony were missing, etc. The only reason I did not turn around and walk away is because of how happy my husband looked and I didn't want to upset him. I had an oral surgery issue years ago that made one side of my face look unflattering, especially in photos when I smile, I emphasized repeatedly this is why I wanted to stand on a different side that the traditional side for brides during the ceremony. I barely have any close up photos of us during our ceremony due to having to delete so many that made me really uncomfortable to look at. When I asked my husband after the ceremony why he was standing in the wrong place he stated Ann told him to of the opposite of what we did at rehearsal...which made no sense because why would we not do what we rehearsed? This confused everyone else walking down the aisle and no one was in the right spot because my husband was not in the right spot. We had communion and a tree planting ceremony and none of the elements were there/were missing. I spent three days before our wedding weekend labeling every box and grouping items that all went together to make it as easy as possible for set up. Everything for our ceremony was together in one box but we were missing most if not all of our items. The gloves I bought for our tree planting ceremony were missing so our hands were completely covered in dirt; we both had lotion on so this was very uncomfortable and you can see it on our face in photos and video as well as trying to get it brushed off so we could join hands again. The worst part of the ceremony is that because the start was rushed, and there was no communication that we were starting, our photographer and videographer were still in the middle of getting set up and there is no video footage of the wedding party or me walking down the aisle. I cried for several days when I was informed after our wedding that I don't have any footage of me walking down to my husband. My mom has terminal cancer and I have no video footage of her walking down with my husband and his mom when she was still healthy/before she started chemo treatments. If it were a few small things that didn't go according to plan I think I could redeem the day in my memory but absolutely nothing right from the ceremony to post ceremony photos, our video guestbook, the food, all the items we bought that weren't used for our reception, cocktail hour...everything was a complete disaster and so embarrassing since we had people drive 7-8+ hrs to come to our wedding.
Closing pros: Everyone said that the wedding was beautiful, everything and everyone looked great, and they had fun. I got to marry my best friend and I wouldn't change anything about that. We did have a debrief the week after we got home to discuss these issues with Ann and she took full responsibility for the communication issues and was very apologetic. She stated that usually with the vendors/team she works with she doesn't take a micromanaging approach and realized for our wedding that's exactly what she needed to do since this was a destination wedding and completely different vendors. She offered to pay to have a re-do ceremony for us so we could get the quality of photos and videos we paid for; however, that just isn't realistic for us or our family and friends to do. We love Ann and would still recommend her to hire for your wedding planning process. Our only suggestion is to create a plan of how communication with vendors and you/your spouse will be handled the day of your wedding. I know most people wanted to keep me out of the know of what was not working out but I WISH SO BADLY someone would have said something to me so I could have stepped in and fixed it and salvaged the day or made executive decisions instead of other people doing what they thought they should that was so wrong. There is so much I wish I could go back and change. I would not change having Ann apart of our planning process. But I was challenged by my loved ones to not overextend myself and trust for other people to take care of things for me, this is what I regret the most and what I would have changed. This is when it mattered the most and it was a complete disaster. No one was communicating or speaking up about what they needed or confusion they had, it felt like our day was "that's good enough" and we didn't spend all the money we did to have a "good enough" wedding. It didn't feel like anyone cared enough to stop and make sure it was right, it felt like it was hurried to make sure it was done and it was still done incorrectly. I would have rather had someone stand up during our ceremony and say "pause!" and fix everything then us having to just go with it and never wanting to think about my wedding day ever again. Some days I wish we just would have eloped and not have paid all the money we did to be so disappointed by almost every aspects of our wedding. -
