Aimee was by far the best and most helpful vendor we hired for our wedding. Not only did the photos turn out great, but she also helped us think through the full timeline of the wedding well in advance and gave great advice every step of the way. She took so much stress out of the whole wedding process. We cannot recommend her highly enough. -

Aimee goes above and beyond as a member of the wedding vendor team. In addition to that, she is a phenomenal photographer, and I'm so thrilled how beautiful our wedding photos are. Aimee is empathetic, a seasoned pro, provides valuable guidance on day of logistics, incredibly responsive, organized, creative, and kind. I loved having her with me throughout the wedding day. A Beautiful Surprise and a Visual Masterpiece
I recently surprised my fiancée with a couple’s photo shoot for my birthday, and we were fortunate to have Aimee as our photographer. As someone who loves the vibrant cityscape of Washington, D.C., I was particularly excited about incorporating its iconic murals into our shoot. Aimee went above and beyond, scouting phenomenal locations and ensuring each mural was active and available for us to use. This level of attention to detail, patience, and creativity far exceeded my expectations.
Having worked with several professional photographers due to my line of work, I can confidently say that Aimee stands out as exceptional. Her professionalism, warmth, and genuine care created a tailor-made experience that felt incredibly personal to us. From the moment we met, she put my fiancée at ease, transforming the shoot into something that felt intimate, natural, and yet, effortlessly chic. She struck a perfect balance between guiding us and allowing the moments to unfold organically. What’s more, Aimee generously shared historical tidbits about the city as she led us through each location, adding layers of meaning to the day.
The finished photos were absolutely stunning. Every detail, from the lighting to the composition, was flawless. The way she captured our love, the beauty of the murals, and the essence of the city was beyond what we could have imagined. My fiancée was truly blown away by Aimee’s thoughtfulness and artistry. We’re already planning to book her for future events because she’s worth every bit and more. We loved working with Aimee! She took time to get to know us in order to fit right into our wedding experience and capture us and our friends and family as naturally as possible. She was also very low key and helpful on the actual day. The photos were incredible, and she made the best of rainy weather to get fall photos outside after the ceremony! We an't wait to work with her again! -

Amazing team & 6 star service!!
Aimee was the best! Right from the get go, she was so responsive and thoughtful. She was able to work with us to create a photo package that got us the quality and quantity we wanted, at the price we could afford. She also is a very caring and organized person, going so far as to save my dress from a horrible red wine stain with a portable tidal stick she kept in her purse. I won't give away all of her surprises, but she truly went above and beyond in every interaction we had with her. And the photos she and Nikolai took are nothing short of gorgeous and authentically us. Worth every penny and then some. -

Amazing photography with a personal touch
Aimee and her team provided amazing support from start to finish as we planned the photography for our wedding and engagement photos. Neither of us were trilled about being in front of the camera, but from the first time we met with Aimee she put us at ease about the whole process and helped us make the right decisions for our needs. Nikolai and AB captured so many beautiful photos of our wedding, made us laugh throughout the day, and made sure that we got all of the shots that we were hoping for, while also ensuring that we had plenty of time with our guests (a top priority for us). We would not hesitate to recommend Aimee, or any of the photographers she partners with, to other couples. -

If I had to do my wedding over again, my first phone call would be to Aimee. You will not regret hiring her and her team!! My husband and I first met Aimee when she photographed his sister’s wedding back in 2019, so candidly, we knew her work and knew that she was going to be great. That said, working with her exceeded our expectations. Aimee is the total package and more. She is supremely organized and detail-oriented, impressing even this Type-A bride. She recognizes that wedding photography is not just an art form, but requires planning, preparation, and the ability to command control of a crowd. She kept our wedding day on schedule and running smoothly, even with a large family and bridal party. It was important to us to not have our wedding day feel like a photo shoot, and not to have our photographers imposing on the experience of our guests, and somehow Aimee and her team were able to do just that while capturing the fun, joy, love, and beauty of our wedding day.
Having recently been married herself, she brings not only an expert vendor perspective, but the perspective of the guests of honor. She and her team left no stone unturned to make us look and feel our best on our wedding day. From the little things, such as having a glass of water handy for us after our couples portraits and carrying my dress train so it didn’t drag to helping us find small moments of privacy and calm during the wedding, she truly goes above and beyond to capture the day while making everyone feel comfortable and fabulous. She was always available pre-wedding to walk through logistics, answer questions and provide advice, and has taken our questions, feedback, and edit requests in stride post-wedding. Our posed and candid wedding photos are truly perfect thanks to her and we’ve gotten so many compliments from family and friends about her work and her delightful presence on wedding day. Aimee is the best of the best!! -

Amazing wonderful exceptional
I do not have enough words to describe how amazing Aimee Custis Photography is. Truly captured the day better than I could imagine. The photographers helped keep me calm, made it fun. Truly a dream. We have so many compliments on the photographers and the final pics. Everyone loved them on the day AND Cloves the photos! Truly professional and lovely people. BOOK THEM! -

Aimee is simply the best. She was incredibly easy and supportive to work with. Always responsive. The photos we received from our wedding were all amazing. When we first got them back, I must have looked through them 5-10 time, each time getting happier and happier. We had some great posed shots as well as others that really captured the moment.
She was flexible to our requests around lots of family and friend photos and to take sometime on the carousal. She was able to fit everything in and we did not feel rushed at all.
I particularly appreciated that all of her questionnaires are gender neutral and make no assumptions about religion or how a wedding is supposed to be. The prefect antidote to my mother.
We got a tone of photos right away and our full photos with in two weeks.
We would highly recommend Aimee and use her again for our next occasion. -

Best photographer choice
We LOVED working with Aimee for our wedding and engagement photography! Not only is she organized, professional, responsive, and a calming force throughout the planning process but her photos are AMAZING. She is so talented - nothing too artificial or photoshopped or filtered, just really beautiful, colorful, real moments. She even surprised us by using a film camera to capture a different style, and those ended up being some of our favorite shots.
Everything turned out so much better than we expected, and my mom continues to brag about all the compliments Aimee's photography has gotten from friends and family. I really wanted a photographer who fit my type-A personality and would put as much preparation and thought and pay attention to the details as much as I did when planning - and Aimee exceeded my level of care. I truly cannot recommend her enough. As a bonus, she is FAST and we got our photos within a few days of the wedding! You won't regret working with her, I promise. -

Saying Aimee was wonderful to work with does not do our experience justice! From our first "get to know you" meeting we knew Aimee was the photographer for us. My husband and I are both self admittedly awkward in front of the camera and opted to do an engagement session to prep for the big day, Aimee was wonderful walking us through poses and making us feel comfortable doing what does NOT come naturally to us. On our wedding day Aimee and her team were on top of everything, and they were so kind and friendly we received multiple comments from our bridal party! Seeing all our photos afterwards we were reminded why we loved all of Aimee's work from the start, there is the perfect mix of the classic posed photos and so many of the little moments, that I didn't even realize she and her team were capturing at the time but have made for some of our favorite memories. In the last year it has been so wonderful to look back on the photos Aimee gave us and relive our Wedding. We can't wait to see our wedding album and will continue to cherish every photo and memory. -

We instantly clicked with Aimee, right from our first meeting with her. It was important to us that we liked our vendors as people, not just professionals, and we got that and more with Aimee!
Since we hired Aimee before we hired our coordinator, her advice was invaluable to our timeline and aesthetics. She answered countless questions and coordinated seamlessly with us and our other vendors. When the day of the wedding came, she was on time, kept to the schedule, and was just fun to be around. Many of the members of our wedding party told us how much they liked Aimee and her assistant. During the actual party, they blended in so much that I honestly forgot they were there! She really went the extra mile for us.
While we haven't seen the full album yet, the engagement and first look pictures that we have seen exactly capture the look we were going for.
Aimee is a great person and a great photographer. We can't recommend her enough! -

Brigid Sent on 03/28/2016Aimee is magic. Seriously. She takes gorgeous pictures and is so helpful, kind and openminded that it really could not be more fun working with her. We initially had some phone conversations with her- we were working from a distance at the beginning of the wedding planning process and she made it really easy to share more about ourselves and our expectations for our wedding photography. The pricing of her photography packages is very straightforward, and with the package we chose we had a complimentary engagement session included which allowed us time to get to know her and to learn more about how to be in front of the camera. She also was super helpful with figuring out how to take pictures with our cute dog while also getting good pictures of the two of us as well.
On the day of our wedding she had two other shooters with her- Kian, who helped her take getting-ready pictures and Paola, who helped with photography at the wedding itself. Both Kian and Paola are equally as nice as Aimee and we loved having them with us. Aimee made sure that we looked our best in front of the camera- she's a master boutnniere putter-onner and she always made sure that my wife (Brigid) had her wedding dress placed just right. One moment that sticks out to me is that at the wedding a member of our catering team was confused and was calling me sir (I'm female, but I have short hair and was wearing a suit.) It was an honest mistake but I was a little perturbed by this due to the fact that this was a gay wedding and being mistaken for the opposite gender is just not much fun in general. Aimee was nearby and after we explained the situation to her she took a moment and addressed the issue with the caterer, which was amazing and so appreciated especially because it was so outside of her job description. Aimee is amazingly talented, genuinely nice, and extremely helpful. She is a great choice as your wedding photographer! -

From the very first email until months after the wedding, Aimee has been a wonderful part of our planning, the day of, and post-wedding experience. Aimee is a true professional at what she does, but she does it with grace, poise, and elegance, and it is always a great time! I was so nervous for our engagement session, mostly because I wasn't sure what to expect and I'm usually not in front of the camera. Aimee immediately put my fears to rest and I knew we had made the right choice.
The day of Aimee had creative freedom and I'm so glad! She did an amazing job capturing the unique elements of our wedding in ways I never would have thought of. Her insight and talent are a treasure and I'm so happy we were able to have that for our big day.
Since the wedding I have had nothing but compliments about my photos and I love them so much! I wouldn't trade my experience with Aimee for anything. She has great vision, talent, and a wonderful personality! She made the day that much better by being a part of it and we loved sharing in those wonderful moments. -

Allie Sent on 11/19/2015Aimee shot our engagement session (with Kian McKellar) and wedding (with Chris Langford), and the photos are absolutely gorgeous, but I'm sure you know how great her photos are if you've taken even a quick glance at her site or portfolio, right? Amazing work aside, hiring Aimee was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding, for reasons the pictures don't capture.
First, in all communications with Aimee, she was warm, professional, flexible, and honest. She was a huge asset to us in planning our wedding and made some awesome vendor recommendations.
During each photo session, she made us comfortable immediately and guided us along without making us feel awkwardly posed. Plus, during our wedding day, she and Chris did a great job wrangling our families and capturing portraits where we all look relaxed and happy.
Last, but not at all least, Aimee was a friendly, calming presence on our wedding day -- this was so much more important than I anticipated because she and her crew were with us all day. When you think of hiring a wedding photographer, you never imagine that she will be the person you turn to in mild panic when you realize you have no idea how to cut the cake. (For the record, Aimee cheerfully replied something to the effect of, "Couples never know how to cut the cake! Just go for it, and it'll be great!" She was right.)
Having Aimee as a part of our team allowed us to relax and have a blast on our wedding day, and in turn, the joy and happiness we felt on that day is so wonderfully captured in her photos. -

You will not be disappointed if you use her services! Her photographer skills are amazing, she is incredibly flexible and made me feel super calm on my wedding day! I would refer her to anyone!
