Highly Recommended!

If you want not only a delicious, but absolutely beautiful cake for your wedding, definitely go with Kristi at Ahimsa Custom Cakes! Not only was our cake gorgeous, but our guests were raving about the taste. Our best man said it was the best cake he's ever had! Kristi was excellent to work with. I sent her 3 pictures of cakes I found on the internet, each one with one element that I really liked, and I wanted to combine them. She did a wonderful job and it even went perfectly with our wedding colors, although I don't think I even told her what they were! Great flavors, too: We chose French toast, chocolate and cookie dough for our 3 layer cake (even her vanilla cake, which I normally find dull, is phenomenal!). And included in the price is a fresh made anniversary cake for your first anniversary! Can't recommend Kristi enough!

Kristi was wonderful to work with. She replied to emails within a day. She is extremely creative and integrated our ideas into the cake beautifully. There were plenty of flavor options available. She even delivered it the day of the wedding. I highly recommend her!

I will always remember the gorgeous unicorn/fox cake she made for us. It was based off a valentines card my husband drew for me our first valentines together. She did an amazing job keeping the idea of a 2D image while adding 3D effects.

Kristi was great to work with! The sample cakes were delicious and helped us choose our flavor (the yummy vanilla cake and vanilla frosting). Kristi had creative ideas on how to get the look I wanted. The sugar succulents she created were elegant and realistic. The cake was packaged for easy transportation and pick up was a breeze. The guests raved about the cake and wanted more (PS They didn't know it was vegan!). I can't wait to get my complimentary one-year anniversary cake : ) I highly recommend Ahimsa Custom Cakes for quality, professionalism, and flexibility.

Kristi is such an amazing and sweet woman! Very easy to work with and professional. Her cakes are outstanding... this woman has serious talent.

She was a pleasure to work with during the wedding process and has the patience of a saint! The guests loved her beautiful cake. It didn't last long haha!!

We found Ahimsa Custom Cakes from a simple google search online- and we sure are lucky that we did.

Kristi is a very talented baker and a very kind and pleasant person. It was very simple choosing Ahimsa with the all natural ingredients and amazing taste!

Our wedding cake was exactly what I wanted and more! We had a 4 tier cake and each tier was a different flavor. Our guests were so pleased with our cakes taste and also with the look of our cake!

Definitely recommend Ahimsa to anybody looking for an all natural amazing tasting beautiful cake for any occasion!

I am SO happy we found Kristi and her wonderful baking skills! We have family members who are vegan and so we decided to seek out a vegan baker for our wedding so that everyone could have cake! Let me first say that even if you're NOT vegan, you will want to sit down with Kristi and try her cake-- it tastes amazing no matter what your food preferences are.
We had a great tasting session with and knew after the first bite that we wanted to book her. She runs her business from her in-home licensed kitchen. She is a genuinely kind person who really listens to what your ideas are and asks lots of questions to make sure everyone is on the same page. We had lots of emails back and forth and she was always quick to respond. We decided to go with cupcakes instead of a traditional cake, and I kind of let Kristi take the reins as far as design went, so seeing the final product on our wedding day was a happy surprise! Everyone loved the cupcakes -- when someone came up to us to tell us how good they were and we told them yes they are, and they're vegan-- people were happily surprised! My only disappointment was that everyone had eaten the mocha ones before I could get to one ;) I couldn't recommend Kristi enough!

Kristi and her vegan creations are nothing short of AWESOME!! When I started looking for cake vendors, I immediately scheduled a tasting with her based on her reviews. Needless to say after the tasting, I knew that Kristi would be baking our cake and cupcakes...I didn't even look any further after. You will never guess in a million years that everything she makes is VEGAN!! My guests were absolutely stunned with this fact...everyone raved at how delicious they were! Not only does she bake completely vegan, but she can also do gluten free which was something that I absolutely needed as my niece has Celiac disease. Again, they tasted so good. So nice and moist! I can't wait for my anniversary cake (which she provides at no cost)!!

Kristi is the epitome of professionalism! She is immediately responsive to all e-mails and is beyond conscientious of the cleanliness of her kitchen and home. The tastiness of her product is absolutely top shelf along with her level of customer service.

If you want a delicious, moist cake for your wedding cake, look no further than Ahimsa Custom Cakes!! She has these amazing ratings for a reason!!!

Kristi is amazing. I cannot even express how important it was for me to find a vegan baker that rocked both flavor and design. She baked the most amazing, chocolate, two teared with vanilla frosting wedding cake and made the most adorable lobster wedding topper with a violin for me and skiis for the groom. She also make shark themed french toast cupcakes for the groom that were over the top and gone as soon as people could eat them. After having her make our wedding cake I ordered a blueberry birthday cake for my in-laws and it was to die for. I can't say enough about these cakes and cupcakes!

Kristi did a truly fantastic job with my dark chocolate, vanilla frosted, custom lobster topper, two tiered wedding cake as well as shark themed cupcakes for the groom. Our guests at them right up and all couldn't believe they were vegan. She helped make my day the dream I always wanted. I will be ordering again!

Our cakes were amazing! Kristi kept in touch with us and sent us emails to double check the details before the wedding. When I sent her an email two weeks before the wedding inquiring about a groom's cake she was very accommodating and made a perfect cake. We went with the French toast flavor and the lemon with blueberry preserves. Amazing!! The two cakes were beautiful!

Kristi is an absolute pleasure to work with! From the incredibly prompt email responses, her flexibilty, her talent as a baker, professionalism, to just being a very nice woman. We did a cake tasting, which was delicious, and she was very pleasant to talk to, very helpful, and I didn't even feel the need to try other venues because the cake was great and I felt comfortable talking to her about the details of the cake. She understood what we were looking for a cake, and I don't even think I was the best communicator about what I wanted! She just got it. The cake was a hit with everyone, and all of our guests were floored when we told them the cake was vegan! Don't let that deter you at all! The fact that we got a 3 tier cake and didn't have to worry about saving and freezing our top tier for our anniversary was such an added bonus! Although my husband wanted to call the next day to say it was our anniversary just to get more! Seriously, she was a downright pleasure to work with and we could not have wished for a better cake! I highly recommend using her as a baker and I recommend trying the blueberry pancake flavor because it was a huge hit!!

Kristi was awesome! Our cake was SO beautiful and delicious! No one guessed it was vegan :) Kristi is so easy to work with and responded very quickly to phone messages and emails. She happily accommodated my weird requests and even delivered the cake and got it all set up on the day of the wedding. I sent her a picture of a cake I loved and ours turned out even better than that one. Her prices are very reasonable too. Don't hesitate to hire her!

Kristi was an absolute doll to work with. Our cake was incredibly delicious and decorated with expert skill. All of our guests were talking about how great the cake was for days after the wedding. Our two year old daughter still keeps asking for "more blue cake" (we got the blueberry pancake flavor and would definitely recommend it!).

We live in a day and age where customer service and customer appreciation have gone by the wayside. Not so with Ahimsa. She bent over backward for us in every respect. Her capability as an artist an craftsman are like none I have seen before. She took a vision and made it a beautiful reality .

Kristi was the epitome of what a wedding cake vendor should be. She provided insight, creativity, feedback and was more than prompt at response times (responding sometimes at 11pm at night just to make sure that a response was received on my end).

We requested a less than normal wedding cake. My husband and I wanted a cake that told a story of our triumphs and all of the important aspects of our relationship over the past 5 years. We gave Kristi "our story" and out of that she did an amazing cake that really was a Road to Life.

A simple yet elegant road went around the cake, spiraling to the top, with a custom topper of my husband and I, in our wedding garb, on his motorcyle. Kristi did an exact replica of the motorcyle, leaving no detail undone.

It was so emotional walking around the cake, seeing our life unfold in front of us. To this day we look at pictures and see little things that we missed the first time around. There was so much time, effort and detail put into this, you can truly notice it! Our family and friends thought it was the BEST, most creative cake they had ever seen, and that was before they tasted it.

Being a vegan baker, we had our hesitations, but Kristi delivered!! Cookies and cream, Cinnamon Toast and Lemon Blueberry were our tier flavors and each one was as amazing as the next. Our cake went FAST!

Overall, I give Kristi a 10 out of 5. A 5 out of 5 just doesn't do her justice.

I will use her for any cake event, from here on out. Period.

Kristi is such an awesome person to work with. She really cared about giving me exactly what I wanted. Not only did she give me a custom cake but she managed to make it fit the theme of my wedding perfectly. It was also really delicious everyone loved it I didn't have much left over to take home! She also offers a free cake for your 1 year anniversary that way to don't have to eat a cake that has been freezer burned and is a year old. I highly recommend Ahimsa custom cakes.

When selecting our wedding cake, we were extremely thorough. We must have gone to every cake vendor in town and tasted multiple samples at each one. I don't think there were any that we tried that were bad, but when we tasted Ahimsa Custom Cakes, we knew we'd found something special. We were happy to select Ahimsa Custom Cakes as our wedding cake provider. The wedding cake was wonderful. We had such a good experience, we've ordered a birthday cake and even cupcakes for our anniversary over the years since our wedding.

I got exactly what I requested. I had an image in my mind and she captured that exactly. It was delicious and beautiful. Kristi is so accommodating and willing to please. Everyone raved about the flavors of our wedding cake. A tiffany blue three layer cake that looked like a tufted pillow with a layer of filigree design. My daughter want something elegant and minimalist, somewhat modern and unique and of course vegan and I wanted a cake that was as traditional as possible, such an old fuddy duddy..... Kristi found a way to make both of us happy. I was so delighted with the results, I can't say enough just how lovely the cake was both in design and presentation. We went with the tuxedo (vanilla and red crimson chocolate) and blueberry pancake ( blueberry and maine maple syrup) flavors, just delicious!

The cake was AMAZING. It tasted great and looked beautiful. Kristi is an amazing person to work with. She makes you comfortable from the taste test to the day it is delivered. She even let me know when she was going to be out of town so I wouldn't be worried if she didn't answer an email!! My favorite part is for sure the free 4" anniversary tier for our 1 year anniversary. No freezer burnt cake from this wonderful lady!!

I cannot say enough nice things about Kristi and her cakes! Her cakes are not only beautiful but they are delicious; the frosting is amazing! I have ordered several different cakes from her for every occasion from jewelry parties to showers, graduation, birthdays (any excuse to have a cake made really) and they are all fabulous, the orange cream is my personal favorite! Plus all of her cakes are lactose free and made from all natural ingredients, so they are safe for anyone with milk or egg allergies.
I was also very pleased with the prices and the way she handles her business. This gal knows what she is doing, you will not be disappointed!

Wonderful, delicious and beautiful cakes. I am a vegan, so I was so excited when I found Ahimsa Custom Cakes. I had my graduation party cake done by her. Everyone loved the cake sooo much! They had no idea that it was vegan! My boyfriend liked the cake so much that I decided to order him his own personal cake for his birthday! Now that I have found Ahimsa Custom Cakes, I wouldn't look anywhere else. I will surely get my wedding cake made by her too! Kristi is fabulous!

Kristi helped us out less than a month before our wedding after a frustrating turn of events with a very disorganized baker. Her cake was delish- some of the best frosting we have ever tasted and the the cake was exactly what we wanted. I had very high standards for my cake, it was a tree with a mystical face on it. And my cake came out Better then I expected. I could not ask for more.! She Made shore she had all the details and even kept in contact to make shore it was what i still wanted. And her taste testing was perfection.She nailed it right to the very last detail. Everything! Ahimsa Custom Cakes was fabulous to work with! I have nothing but wonderful things to say - the cake TASTED delicious (everyone raved about it, and only a smidge was left over), looked amazing despite the SUPER high heat and humidity at my outdoor wedding, and couldnt have been better. Kristi did a great job matching my custom cake topper, incorporating the enamel flowers into the cake by making handmade sugar flowers to match. The caterer loved serving it because everything was edible so there was nothing to have to dig off the cake! Kristi makes everything fresh, never frozen, so the flavor can't be beat - and vegan to boot!

Ahimsa was so very easy to work with - anything you want, you can have! Carved, fondant, insisting on buttercream despite heat/humidity/bugs at an outdoor wedding (which we did, we dont care for fondant, and Kristi was so wonderful and willing to give us whatever we wanted, with only the required warnings that icing can sag in the heat -- but it never did. She really is amazing). Everything held up perfectly.

Stop searching now. Use Ahimsa. Her prices are very reasonable and her quality can't be beat. You'll be glad you did.

My partner and I hired Ahimsa Custom Cakes for our wedding in Madison. Kristi was absolutely wonderful to work with. While our wedding was in Maine, much of the planning was done out of state and she made it so easy. She was super responsive via e-mail and absolutely dedicated to giving us the cake that we wanted in taste and style. A few pictures back and forth and some discussions at the tasting and she knew exactly what we were looking for - something visually "quiet," but detailed and stunning. I couldn't believe how well her artistic talents were able capture the baroque and/or filigree style we wanted. She matched the color perfectly. Every step of the way, Kristi checked in with me via e-mail or phone to ensure that every detail was precisely what I wanted. She is a wonderfully sweet and dedicated woman who takes pride in her work.

While the look was incredible, the taste was the best! We opted for a lemon cake (extra zest) with blueberry filling. The cake was extremely moist and flavorful with delicious lemon buttercream frosting that was not overly sweet and creamy to the right proportion. We received SO many compliments from our guests and the leftover cake kept everyone smiling for days. Many wanted to know right away where we ordered the cake and I was happy to tell them!

Since our wedding location was very away from Ahimsa, we opted to have my father-in-law transport the cake. Kristi went above and beyond making sure everything was packaged right and that the car was equipped with the materials needed to get the cake where it needed to go safely and securely. The price was extremely fair given how very pleased we were with the look and the rave reviews about how amazing it tasted. We can't wait to redeem our "top" for our 1 year anniversary - a special service Ahimsa provides if you are wary of freezing.

Thanks so much to Kristi at Ahimsa for adding beauty and cruelty-free deliciousness to our wedding day! I would recommend Ahimsa to anyone in Maine looking for any type of occasion cake. They are truly delicious and beat those dry over-sweetened cakes you usually find at events.

Ahimsa Custom Cakes, LLC is perfect. Not only did the cake look great, its taste was phenomenal. Everyone one at the wedding loved it, even the people who weren't vegan (everyone but me). The cake was moist and the frosting was to die for. Kristi was easy to get a hold of throughout the entire process and always stayed in touch, which is saying something since we had contacted her about a year in advance. I would recommend Ahimsa Custom Cakes, LLC to anyone looking for the perfect wedding cake.

Kristi is a very talented artist and cake designer, trust in her and you won't go wrong. I allowed Kristi creative freedom in designing our daughter's birthday and she didn't disappoint; the cake was beautiful and my daughter loved it.

We were very disappointed. Cake tasted good but the cake was much smaller then we expected and did not look like a wedding cake . Would not use her again . We had to go to another bakery here in Brunswick Maine to add some vegan cupcakes , which were wonderful and much better priced . I wished I had ordered the cake there also .
