We knew from our first meeting that Afrik was unique and talented. He's detail-oriented, thoughtful, and has a dedication to his craft that is unmatched. From the beginning, Afrik worked to build a comfortable relationship with us, asking us about our relationship, things we love about ourselves, and what we were looking for from his photo coverage. He checked in with us throughout the process and had an established relationship with our planner that made so much of the process seamless. He did a confidence/getting-to-know-you shoot with us that helped us spend some time with him, get to know him, and understand how to be comfortable in front of the camera on our wedding day. He came on wedding day full of energy and spark. He and his assistant truly made the entire experience fun and light-hearted. They helped me maneuver in my dress and found great spots for photos. And once the day kicked off, they moved through the crowd, seamlessly catching moment after moment. We loved every second of working with Afrik and cannot recommend him enough. He will be your number one hype person all day - and, for us, a true friend as well -

We knew we needed Afrik immediately after our initial call with him. He was so fun to talk to and genuinely interested in our love story and wedding, and we knew we'd feel comfortable with him. Though we were initially crushed to hear that another couple had him on hold on our date ended up taking him, he went out of his way to make an arrangement where he still did our engagement/confidence shoot IN ITALY with us and edited our wedding day photos even though he couldn't be there. He even went to our venue with his backup photographer the week of the wedding to scope out shots which we didn't expect him to do. His photography speaks for itself and we LOVE our photos so much! He is truly the best! -

Afrik is hands down the best wedding photographer I have ever worked with. From the very beginning, he takes the time to get to know you as a couple and begins to understand your style, likes and dislikes, and personalities to make sure that his photographs truly encapsulate the two of you as a couple. We were able to schedule a confidence session with him 10 months before our wedding to take some engagement shots and really start to feel comfortable in front of the camera. It made all of the difference on the wedding day! The weekend of the wedding Afrik and his team went above and beyond to make sure that each moment whether between my husband and me, or the emotions and joy of the guests in attendance, was captured. His photos tell the story of our wedding weekend and we could not be happier with the results. Not only did we come out of this experience with the best photographs imaginable, but we also gained a lifelong friend! -

In addition to being the most incredible photographers I have worked with, Afrik is one of the best humans I have ever met. He shot our Fall wedding in 2022. Prior to our wedding, we got to know him via FaceTime, our “confidence sessions” (engagement shoot), and through various calls. It’s clear he puts a lot of love and effort into each couple he works with because he really took the time to get to know us! His energy is amazing and made us feel extremely at ease (and laugh) throughout our wedding day. Our wedding pictures are so much more than we could ever imagine and capture my husband and I’d personality perfectly. Outside of the wedding, we have got to know Afrik as a friend and we absolutely adore him. He is by far one of the best vendors we hired for our day. -

Before my husband and I even started planning, I knew we had to work with Afrik for the wedding. I had worked with him before and absolutely loved my experience!
During the wedding, Afrik made everyone feel comfortable, look glamorous, and feel at ease in front of the camera. Everyone tells us our pictures look like they belong in a magazine! We are beyond pleased with how our pictures came out. This was a 10/10 experience and I would definitely recommend!!!! We're so grateful Afrik was part of our day and I already know we are going to be looking at these pictures for forever!! -

Simply the best!
Afrik is absolutely AMAZING: both as a photographer and as a person. I found Afrik through instagram, admiring his photography style and I am SO thankful that I did! Not only is he so incredibly talented, but I want to be his friend! He really cared about getting to know my husband and I leading up to our wedding day. He took our engagement photos, which he calls a “confidence session” and they really were just that! Afrik gave us so many tips and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera that we were wedding day ready! On our wedding day, Afrik was so fun to hangout with all day, our sneak peeks are to die for (so we cannot wait to see all of our photos!), and Afrik made us feel so comfortable and have so much fun in front of the camera. Afrik is incredibly talented, professional, and just an all around great person to be around and have on your wedding day. We are so thankful to have gotten to know him, to have worked with him, and to have his beautiful photographic memories of the best day of our lives to look at forever! -

I had 250 person weekend wedding in upstate New York, and of all the vendors we used, Afrik was by far my favorite! He has a way with color that is just stunning and he has a great eye, particularly for our venue, Cedar Lakes Estates. But beyond his photos, he is just a joy of a human to be around while getting married. 10/10 -

Afrik is not only the most amazing photographer, but he is so amazing at making you feel comfortable. My husband and I were very scared of getting our pictures taken because we were nervous we were awkward on camera. He made us feel like we were models / movie stars. We worked with Afrik for both our engagement shoot in Colombia and our wedding at Glenmere Mansion in New York this year. Words cannot express our deep gratitude. Before the engagement shoot, we felt quite nervous about being photographed. However, Afrik made us feel comfortable instantly by teaching us simple yet effective technique. I have only the best things to say about Afrik and his team!!! I was completely blown away by the love he has for his craft. So many vendors I encountered can make the whole process feel very transactional, instead Afrik made me feel SO excited about the big day and like he couldn't wait to be part of it with us. His energy and sense of calm is exactly what you want on such an important day. In one breath he's hyping me and my bridesmaids up and in the next he's calming me down when it started pouring haha. I have seen a sneak peek of the photos and am DYING, I cannot wait to see the rest. Afrik will forever be a friend and such a memorable part of our wedding, highly recommend him! -

Photographer of our Dreams!
I have so much goodness to spread about Afrik Armando! First off his fun and sweet personality will capture you. I found his work through a local blogger I follow. He shot her wedding and I was obsessed and had to have Afrik for my wedding. We scheduled a FaceTime call and his personality sealed the deal. You must follow him on Instagram to get a feel for his stunning work, his professionalism, his wedding advice, and his sweet silliness. He is what we consider a master at his craft. He loves the floral aspect of the day. He was able to provide so much positive insight into how the flowers can look to make the photos really come out the way we envisioned. The two things I really cared about most at my wedding were photos and floral so it was a match. We spent the day with him this summer prior to wedding at our “confidence shoot” and it was so fun! He helped my husband and I feel so comfortable shooting together. Confident!! Afrik taught us poses, smiles, tips, and tricks to make the shoots fun and comfortable. Afrik is someone I’ll never forget not only because his photos that he took of us on our wedding day are stunning and unforgettable but because he is an amazing, talented, smart, capturing and unforgettable person! -

Afrik is awesome!
Afrik is extremely dedicated, professional, and personable. Immediately, he makes you feel comfortable with his charm and sense of humor. We were so impressed by his artistry off the bat! He has a great eye and knows how to set you up for beautiful and candid shots! Especially, during the reception, he captures every candid moment and you don't even realize he's there. Afrik is absolutely the best of the best! I feel so incredibly lucky to have found him and if you are reading this, call/book him ASAP. He is THAT GOOD. From the first meeting with him to discuss cost to our wedding day, Afrik radiates genuine passion and enthusiasm for what he does and wow does it translate to his work. One of the first things he said to me was why he chose to get into photography, that capturing a moment allows people to travel back to that moment and that happiness that radiates off the picture. He is able to capture magic within his photos and they are truly spectacular. He is an even better person. He worked with us to move our wedding date 3 times due to the pandemic, helped with day of logistics and went above and beyond any one could have ever dreamed. He did so with a huge smile. I cannot wait to work with him again. -

My husband and I loved Afrek from the moment we jumped on our first zoom call with him. His positivity, creativity, professionalism and passion radiate out of him in every conversation which makes you feel like you are the only client he’s working with. When in reality everyone wants him to photograph their wedding! Don’t miss out on working with this extremely talented photographer and truly special human. He went above and beyond for me (painting a canvas for my detail pictures, staying later until he felt good about the dancing pictures he got, etc.) and truly listened to us as a couple throughout the playing process and I think that’s why our pictures turned out so great! -

Best wedding photographer ever
Book Afrik for your wedding. You won’t regret it. Afrik is not only an incredibly talented photographer, but he is an absolutely wonderful person. When we rescheduled our wedding because of COVID-19, we unfortunately lost our original photographer due to a scheduling conflict with our new date (July 3, 2021). I reached out to Afrik because he shot our friends wedding in 2019 (which we were in) and we enjoyed working with him then. Afrik immediately jumped on the phone with me, put my mind at ease, made me laugh, and really turned my COVID bride wedding panic around. We immediately booked with Afrik (who was, through some twist in good fortune, available on our new date) and never looked back. Afrik is warm, kind, detail-oriented, and easy to be with. He has great taste, a good eye for lighting and photoshoot locations, and great insights into other aspects of the wedding styling - design, florals, etc. He has a radiant, infectious energy of goodness and joy - and a very calm demeanor - that will make your wedding day fun, special, and relaxed. Spending the day with him feels like hanging out with a good friend. At the end of the night, we insisted on getting a photo with Afrik (with our friends who introduced us to him at their 2019 wedding!) because he was such an important part of our team. Within 24 hours, he’d already sent us 16 absolutely gorgeous sneak peeks of our wedding. We can’t wait to see the rest. Thanks, Afrik! -

Afrik is the BEST OF THE BEST! Our wedding had been planned for May 1, 2021 before covid was a thing. It was supposed to be in Philadelphia. Throughout the planning process, Afrik was the easiest vendor to work with around contract and any potential changes. He also drove to Ocean City NJ for sunrise to do our engagement photos and that’s just one example of him going above and beyond. We ended up changing our venue to The Reeds in Stone Harbor about 3 months before the date. We parted ways with our wedding planner as she didn’t help with any of this and Afrik stepped in immediately to help with all the little things. He was so much more than our photographer. He helped to execute my vision and created a design plan for us and worked with our florist to help the vision come to life. Our wedding would not have been what it was without Afrik and it was an amazing day. He kept us at ease throughout the day, was not intrusive at all during the reception or getting ready, and did anything needed to get the best photos. I cannot recommend him enough!! We also LOVE our photos so much! He sent a few the very next day and even more sneaks in the few days after the wedding. -

We were looking for a photographer and then we found a new friend. We stumbled upon Afrik’s works at an open house. We immediately knew we wanted Afrik to be our photographer - we loved his style! What we didn’t know until we met with him is that THIS is his passion and he is genuinely nice guy who cares for others. Also, he put you at ease immediately - which is nice especially when you’re not used to being photographed. We must add, EVERYONE loved Afrik - one guest said he has never seen a photographer who is more dedicated than Afrik was on our wedding day. Lastly, trust him— he has great eyes, good sense of framing, and attention to details. When you get his artworks back, you will see. He is an amazing photographer. We hope to continue our friendship and also seek opportunity to collaborate to document our life events through Afrik’s lenses. -

Afrik is not only a great photographer, but an amazing person. His creativity and craft speaks volume on his abilities, work ethics, and just the kindest human being I have ever met. He went above and beyond numerous times to make sure everything was perfect - from design elements, to extra hands, to grabbing extra flowers - he is the best. he also offers other options to add on, which we absolutely booked! Afrik did our save the dates, engagement shoot, invitations and all stationary for the wedding. It is great to have it all done by 1 person so the elements match from one thing to next and he made sure they all followed the same guidelines. He offered his opinion on to make things perfect and also listened to us as a couple. His photos are stunnnnnnning -like I cried when I saw our wedding photos and it is amazing to relive our day through them. I am also a wedding/event planner for work, and Afrik is on my recommended vendors list - thats how much I trust my clients being in his hands. -

It took me a LONG time before I found Afrik. I went on Wedding Wire, The Knot, and looked through many of my friends' photographers to see if anyone could be a good fit. Nobody tells you this, but finding a GOOD photographer is HARD. Many are mediocre at best! As an artist, the photos meant a lot to me. I wanted someone who would be able to capture me, but not in the traditional wedding picture sense. I wanted someone who had a creative eye, who sees things in a different light, who captures raw and beautiful moments, who doesn't just pay attention to me and my husband but also to the surroundings. As someone who dabbles in photography, I wanted someone who could definitely take better photos than me. Eventually, I stumbled upon Afrik Armando, and I was so thrilled to have found him as I scrolled through his portfolio. I was enamored by the light leaks, the play on blurs, the framing, the color bombs, and just the overall life in the photos! No one looked stiff! Immediately, I contacted him on WeddingWire and his website and received a response quickly. We ended up booking Afrik for the Wedding and Engagement Shoot, but he surely went WAY beyond all that. Afrik met up with us and we were able to get to know him and share our mood boards/vision with him. Afrik is the friend you didn't know you had. During the shoot, he made us feel at ease and comfortable with our own skin. It's hard to "act" romantic while someone is watching or taking pictures, but he definitely made it easy for us. He always has a smile on his face and is always so approachable! Not only is he so friendly, but he's also after getting THE BEST shot no matter what it takes. In order to frame the shots well, he would get behind bushes, stand on windows, or lie on the water to get the best shot. He would literally move rocks (basically the earth) around for you! By the time the wedding came, the last thing I was worried about was Afrik. I didn't ask Afrik to take specific photos or specific poses because I trusted him and his creative eyes. Not only that, but when I was starving while I was getting my hair and make up done, Afrik went to a nearby cafe and bought me breakfast. He is, not only talented, but also has a BIG heart. The photos ended up looking amazing and we also ended up becoming good friends in the process! Look no further, this guy is the real deal! -

This guy is not only professional and gets the job done better than even asked. He brings the most comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere I’ve ever felt from a photographer. We LOVED his creativity in helping us take our photos up a notch and keep it from being too "typical". On top of that, this guys literally went our of his way to accommodate whatever request we had! We customized out wedding invites and he helped us design them so well. On top of that, we got our wedding photos like a month after the wedding, speedy & amazing quality! We also had him create out wedding album, which he allowed us to customize a well! I mean, talk about being flexible and accommodating! We loved working with him so much that we also had him do our Christmas cards and are planning to use him for all future photo-worthy moments!

Vilyamir Sent on 09/04/2018Afrik is definitely one of my favorite human beings in the entire world! He’s an absolutely phenomenal photographer and a wonderful person with a character of gold. He took our engagement photos in New York City and when it came time for our wedding, he flew over to Erie Pennsylvania to capture our day. He’s so accommodating and flexible and will work to make sure that everything is perfect. I love his style of photography because it’s unique in today’s era of faded and washed out style of photography that everyone seems to be doing. If you’re worried about awkwardness or posing or whatever else that you’re worried about as a bride/groom to be, a piece of advice for you: DON’T STRESS! Hire Afrik and all of that will be taken care of! He cracks jokes and makes everything flow naturally and he will capture the most important moments that you will look back upon for the rest of your life. Words can’t much better describe how awesome he is, so check out his work and let it speak for him!

The engagement shoot was fun and exciting, it wasn’t just about getting a set of pictures, it was a great experience. His photography is very beautiful, and unique. I haven’t found a better photographer. You don’t have to have to tell him to take pictures at the wedding, he constantly takes pictures and catches great moments. He holds up his end of the bargain and gives great quality photos. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a photographer and a comedian.

Ilona Sent on 01/06/2018From taking our proposal photos & our engagement photos, we've gotten to know that Afrik focuses entirely on the shoot going on at the moment and dedicates his time to photograph something unique to the couple. During our shoots, he was inspired and creative, highlighting us as a couple and adding his photographic creativity. He listened to our ideas and incorporated them in the photographs and hiked with us for an hour to our shoot location. Not only that, but we had a quick deadline and he delivered the photos in a timely manner. I would highly recommend having Afrik as your photographer!
