Affection Florist is so much more than a florist.
Charmaine took the time to truly get to know me, and because of that, she and her incredibly talented team created a wedding that exceeded anything I could have imagined.
They didn't just provide flowers, they created an entire atmosphere. Every detail was breathtaking, from the stunning floral arrangements to the gorgeous décor, chandeliers, sweetheart table, head table, chargers, candles, hurricanes, table numbers, signage, every single detail through the wedding. I genuinely felt like I had stepped into a fairytale.
Throughout the wedding and even days afterward, our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful everything was. I honestly don't know how they pulled it all together, but they are true artists at what they do.
On top of their incredible talent, they were communicative, responsive, organized, and an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire planning process.
My biggest piece of advice: trust Charmaine's vision. She has an incredible eye for design, and giving her the creative freedom to bring our vision to life was one of the best decisions we made.
I would honestly renew my vows just to experience their work again. I cannot recommend Affection Florist highly enough!! -

Absolutely amazing!
We truly cannot say enough amazing things about Charmaine! From the very beginning, she listened so carefully to my vision and somehow brought it to life even more beautifully than I could have imagined. Every arrangement was absolutely stunning, romantic, and perfectly detailed, it honestly felt like walking into a fairytale.
The bouquets, ceremony flowers, and reception florals completely transformed the space and tied everything together so perfectly. You can tell how much care, creativity, and passion went into every single detail. We received endless compliments from our guests all night long!

The best luxury florist!
A review for a fickle bride, like myself, who wants to simply trust her vendors. Charmaine took my inspo pics and created something I never could have imagined or asked for. I was so nervous to see a florist about a winter wedding, she immediately got the vision. And she doesn’t stop with just florals, if you need decor- she has it. You don’t have to worry about your florals getting damaged in travel, she designs on site. She works with the space she’s in to make it as magical as it can be. I’m truly blown away, book her before she’s unavailable. -

From the moment I messaged Charmaine, I knew the experience was going to be stellar. She responded immediately and setup a phone interview. As soon as I spoke with her, there was no question that she not only understood my vision, but had the talent and experience to enhance it further than I could have ever imagined!
She made the process not only simple, but also fun! Watching her brainstorm designs during conversation is just mesmerizing! Her brilliance and talent combined with her professionalism make her the perfect florist for any occasion ... but especially your big day!
Her team is top notch and impressive to watch. Seeing her our vision come to life literally took my breath away! I never had to worry about a single detail on my wedding day because she was so thorough during the planning process. The ceremony space was disassembled and repurposed beautifully in the reception space seamlessly without any interference to cocktail hour.

From the moment I met with Charmaine, I knew she would take my vision and completely amplify it. She was attentive, committed, and professional the whole year we worked together. She fought for our vision regardless of the obstacles placed in front of her.
From the intimate candle lit aisle with fresh long stem roses surrounding the room, to the elegant floral drapery on the fireplace behind our sweetheart table we were astounded. The creative ability and work ethic her and her team have is truly next to none. The decor for the ceremony was removed and reworked for the reception swiftly and effortlessly.

Charmaine was amazing to work with. She is responsive, attentive and remembers each individual bride separately (I know because my friend and I both used her). Her initial quoting experience is what first impressed me. It wasn't just a quote of items and prices but she included names of flowers and visuals to give the vibe. She crushed my 'backyard garden / wildflower' vibe (which is hard to execute). The flowers were a highlight for many that attended. I can’t recommend Charmaine enough! She was a pleasure to work with and made the whole process extremely easy and stress free. She responded immediately to all of my emails, text messages as well as provided photos and options for all of my requests. If you take away anything from this review: stop your florist search and HIRE CHARMAINE. I interviewed 10+ local florists and Charmaine was by far the best, and she absolutely went above and beyond for my wedding.
Seriously, I can’t say enough great things about working with Charmaine for my wedding. Charmaine was an amazing partner from day one of working together and she helped my wedding vision come true. She has an UNMATCHED attention to detail and she was literally obsessed with getting it right. Not to mention, she is also hilarious and is so fun to work with. As far as decor goes, my wedding day was completely stress-free as I knew that if Charmaine (and her son, who is also AWESOME) were on it, they would make sure everything was done perfectly. She seriously went above and beyond and even made sure my reception tables were positioned perfectly and everything was set up perfectly. Most florists just drop off the items and hope the venue sets it up correctly, but not Charmaine. She was there hours early to make sure everything was literally perfect. I didn’t even double check anything or worry about my decor at all on my wedding day because I trusted her 100% after working with her over the months and weeks leading up to my wedding.
Thanks to Charmaine, I didn’t have to hire any other vendors for decor, she pretty much handled everything from the flowers (of course) to other details like card, box, tables, signs, table runners, etc.. Throughout the whole planning process, she was extremely communicative and was able to answer my calls and texts super quickly, and give me advice on not only just flowers but other aspects of my wedding in general. I had interviewed other florists in the area and they did not bring even an ounce of the excitement and commitment that Charmaine does.
Like I said earlier, she was a true partner and I felt like she was personally invested in my wedding being amazing. Another great thing about Charmaine is that she only works on weddings so you won’t find that she’s busy with other things like Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, etc. Her commitment to her clients is incredible and she was the best vendor on my team by far.
I’m so grateful that I got to work with Charmaine, and she made a HUGE difference in reducing stress leading up to my wedding and on the day itself. If you want a true partner who will understand your wedding day vision and work with you to make it happen, Charmaine is your best choice.

Charmaine was an absolute pleasure to work with. She is a true artist and went above and beyond to make my decor/florals magical. She listens to what you want but will suggest things to make it even better. She has so many items available for rent so I would make the trip to see her. She is extremely professional and responsive! You can tell she loves what she does and it shows in her work. I am so happy and would recommend her to any of my friends and family!
For those of you needing day-of coordination she also has that! 10/10 would recommend if you want peace of mind getting from place to place and help repurposing some of your flowers from ceremony to reception. -

We knew once we started working with Charmaine we knew that our wedding flowers were going to be stunning but we never expected how breathtakingly gorgeous it was going to be. Every tiny detail was covered and every space was touched and transformed. Our venue, Hayloft on the Arch, was like something out of a magazine. We told Char what we wanted and she ran with her ideas and creativity and delivered beyond our expectations. Char literally was my fairy godmother at my wedding. Not only did she *seamlessly* transfer my wedding date after COVID pushed us to reschedule, she took every idea I had in my head and made it come to life. She always answered any question or change I had immediately and, quite literally, gave me the WOW factor that I was so excited for upon arrival to the venue. I literally walked in and my jaw dropped!

The MOST beautiful flowers I’ve ever seen!! The colors were so brilliant and so vibrant it was shocking! Charmaine was so attentive and so accommodating during the most challenging of years with personal tragedy to the bride and a global pandemic that forced cancellation of the 1st wedding date and then the re-schedule and then dealing with all the restrictions and obstacles that came along the way, Charmaine took it in stride and delivered floral arrangements that far exceeded our expectations! Absolutely beautiful!
I am beyond grateful that we found Charmaine and her team! I was originally looking for a vendor for ceiling draping only, but ended up using her for the flowers and other decorations as well. I'm so glad I hired them. After that first phone call with Charmaine I felt a sense of relief that I had found someone. She was very personable on the phone and listened to my ideas and brought my vision to life. With everything happening with COVID, she was very accommodating even when we had to change the site of the reception and change our date. The day before the wedding they came to set up the draping, backdrop and work on the flower arrangements. They showed up with a whole trailer full of decorative items and flowers! I was beyond amazed because they went above and beyond my expectations. The day of the wedding I didn't have anyone to set up the tables and place settings I was so worried but Charmaine took care of everything for me! Everything was perfect and gorgeous we received so many compliments! If you are looking for someone to make your vision a reality, or make your venue look stunning, look no further! I found Affections Floral Design & Event planning on Instagram. I called and spoke to Josh who brought me in immediately, pre-Covid we only had 4 months to plan. He understood my vision right away and knew exactly what I wanted, adding ideas that only come from experience and being very knowledgeable in the industry. Once Covid hit we tried to do everything to not change our date until realizing we had no other choice. They were unbelievably flexible and understanding the entire way. Making payments, adjusting the invoice and adding/reducing arrangements for our ever changing guest list, it was no problem. Not only were they our florist but turned our home, yard and barn into a dream and even better than we envisioned. We couldn’t have had our day be as perfect without them! -

My now-husband (yay!) and I got married on 9/12/2020 at Hotel Utica. I actually found Affections from a fellow bride after I attended her wedding and was just in love with her flowers/decor. Char was the sweetest vendor to work with & despite the ever-changing planning process we experienced during the pandemic she was always flexible and accommodating — just a quick text or email away at all times. From the initial visit with Char & Josh where we sat for almost 2 hours to figure out what the heck it was I wanted (not knowing the different types of flowers or greenery!) to the final walk through our venue the week before our wedding — I felt at ease knowing that with Affections on my team I knew they would make the night beautiful... and it truly was! We used their team for our ceremony space, draping, centerpieces, bouquets/bouts and beyond — everything the team touched with flowers and greenery transformed the space. Charmaine and her team somehow captured my vision (even though I changed my mind a million times!) and truly set the ambiance of our wedding day. No detail was spared; from the bouquets to the photo arch, to the welcome signs and corsages, everything tied together so perfectly! They put pops of floral where no one would even think to put it amd it’s amazing how it completed the entire look. Charmaine and her team will not just listen to what you want, but will also make suggestions, which proves they truly know what they’re talking about. Char at Affections Floral was masterful at putting together every arrangement, every bouquet, and every detail. My wedding venue was stunning with Char in charge. It’s hard to know where to start with this because there are so many wonderful things to say about Char and her team! From the very first appointment we had with Char she made us feel like we were part of the family. We sat down at her kitchen table and started going over details. I had a vision in mind and as soon as I started telling her what it was I knew she got it! She sent a quote right away and anytime I asked for changes they were done in a blink of an eye. Not only is Char good with the business end of it she is a true artist and a genuine person!
Char and her staff will make all your wedding dreams come true and make them better then you ever thought they could be! From the flowers, to the draping, to the bistro lights, to the candles and décor, everything was so beyond beautiful. I cried multiple times when I saw it coming together and at the finished product and I will forever be grateful for that. Every place you looked at The Cannery you wanted to take a picture because it was all so gorgeous! Our guests couldn’t get over how stunning every detail was! Char will go above and beyond for you to make sure every detail is on point and can handle anything! I could never express how thankful I am to Char and her staff for everything single thing they did to make everything perfect for us. If you are looking for a professional, caring, hardworking, thoughtful florist and event planner then you need to hire Affection Florist because they are the best in the business!!

Lauren Sent on 09/24/2018Char (and her amazing team) knocked our wedding completely out of the park. She did both floral and decor for the wedding - I cannot say enough good about both. The flowers she brought and the arrangements she built were next level. We were married on a farm, and Char ensured there were flowers at all appropriate locations throughout the entire property. She created a gorgeous chuppah at the ceremony site, and our centerpieces were unbelievable. For a decor perspective, she totally transformed the venue. The venue is already beautiful, but Char's eye for detail pulled all of it together. She brought in furniture to create seating arrangements, chandeliers, additional lighting, various tables, etc. etc. etc. and made sure that everything looked totally complete and perfect.
More, possibly, than the impeccable work, was how pleasant and easy it was to plan this with Char. Every time I spoke with her throughout the planning process, she was reassuring to a point where I knew she just had it - I didn't need to worry, because she understood what we were looking for, and she knows how to execute. On the day of, we had a tight turnaround with the wedding prior to us, and she was on-site with her team hours before our wedding party arrived to get ready. She was calming, and made sure I knew she had a handle on it all. I cannot more highly recommend a person to take care of floral and decor for a wedding. Char and co. were INCREDIBLE. -

I told her very vaguely that I wanted to use lemons as part of the centerpiece and she ran with it and did such an amazing job. I loved how the decorations turned out and I am so happy we went with her!

From our first meeting to the day of the event she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and confident in the design for wedding day. She took my dreams and made them a reality. I'll never forget the feeling I felt the day I walked into my reception space and saw everything come to life. I had chills all over my body and happy tears filled my eyes. It truly was a dream come true. Char and her team (husband, too!) worked tirelessly to make everything perfect. As an event planner I know how much work and effort it takes to pull something like that off, their hard work did not go unnoticed. Family and friends are still complimenting me on how beautiful my space was. At the time of my wedding a close member of my family was fighting cancer, Char consistently asking me how he was doing and even offered to help my family when the event was over. To me, that speaks perfectly to her character. Char is so genuine, creative, hardworking, caring, and simply put an amazing decorator/designer who will make your dream wedding come to life. I recommend her without reservation.

I went to our first meeting with a set budget and explained to her that I couldn't go above that and was worried with what that would get me. Char went above and beyond, I was speechless when I walked into our venue and saw everything set up. All of our guests raved about the centerpieces, boutonnieres and bouquets. Char also made me feel extremely at ease when discussing a plan B for our outdoor ceremony, which we ended up needing because it down poured, her and our event coordinator turned a rushed indoor ceremony setup look absolutely flawless. -

Melissa Sent on 11/06/2012We book Charmaine with Affection's Flowers last minute. She was amazing. We basically told her what we pay and she said what she could do for us with that amount. We used our own vases and she came to our venue with an assistant and buckets of flowers and filled them all in a little over an hour. She did the bouquets, too and added some old handkerchiefs to make them fit in with our theme. She also had all these neat prop she let us borrow (signs, wood stumps and plant stands), we just had to transport them. I would recommend Charmaine to ANYone, but especially to a bride on a budget! -

Char and her team were able to bring what I envisioned to life. It complimented the venue and vibe of the wedding so well. She did wonders with the flowers (coming from not a huge flower girl) and made sure everything flowed. -

I truly enjoyed my planning process with Charmaine. She was quick to respond, educated on which flowers would be in season & would look the best, and had tips/tricks about setting up decorations at my venue since she had previously worked with them. A detailed invoice was sent to me to approve of the things we had agreed upon in the planning process. Affections Florals were quick to answer any questions or make changes that were requested. However, on wedding day, the flowers and bouquets that were delivered were NOT the flowers that had been discussed for months leading up to the big day. We had agreeded to white roses and blue hydrangeas (with some babies breath, and greenery throughout) yet was given some type of purple flowers and zero blue hydrangeas within the bouquets and decorative pieces. The arrangements were beautiful, but not the color scheme we asked for and talked about which was disappointing.
In addition, I had collected bud vases (to match my style) to use as centerpieces. There are multiple back-and-forth conversations with Charmaine about the quantity of vases she thought I would need for each table, and that I was thrifting my own. The team took it upon themselves to switch out mine for their own without consulting me first - on the morning of our wedding! I received a text message from Charmaine after her team had already left the venue, as I was getting my hair and make up done, of the changes her team decided upon without speaking to me first. Because of this, my bridesmaids and my venue had to take extra time to switch things back to the way we had originally set them up - taking away time for my girls getting ready, adding unnecessary stress to us all. Although the centerpieces could be switched back, there was nothing any of us could do about the fact that we had the wrong flowers.
I reached out to Charmaine after my wedding to let her know that while her flowers were beautiful, they were not what we spoke about and I was disappointed with the end result. I have not gotten a response back. -

Lots of bumps, but a beautiful end product
I do want to start off by saying that my bouquet was the most beautiful bouquet I have ever seen. It was stunning, my bridesmaids bouquets were also very beautiful and better than your average bridesmaid bouquets.
There were just a few hiccups that caused some frustrations in order to get to the final product. Throughout the wedding planning process, other vendors were very responsive, but I could never get ahold of our florist until about a month and a half out. Meetings were missed, phone calls and emails were ignored, and it was rather frustrating. I know the summer is a busy time for weddings and I had tried to schedule appointments during the week or in off hours, but it was the most frustrating part of the wedding planning process and that included chasing down RSVPs.
With that being said, everything the day of went rather smoothly. We did end up missing a bridesmaids bouquet, but after an hour or so, the situation was fixed and we ended up with another beautiful bouquet. This did made some photos look a little strange, but my bouquet was so large and stunning that it really would be difficult to tell unless you were looking for it.
The centerpieces and decor were very nice and really brought the room together. I did have a friend mention that some of the greenery used looked a little old, some of the pieces used for the ceremony kinda looked like they were swept off the floor and repurposed, but I honestly don't think anyone else would have noticed.
Overall, the flowers were stunning, we received multiple complements on them, and at the end of the day, that's all that really matters.

She re-used flowers without telling us!
I had high hopes for Charmaine's floral and decor services as she came highly recommended by our venue owner/coordinator, but we were very disappointed in her services, poor communication and unprofessionalism. I provided Char with our inspiration photos, color scheme and main pieces that we wanted for our wedding. While creating the quote, she opted to offer a package deal, outlining all of the pieces we had originally discussed (especially our arch pieces!), including delivery/set-up/pick-up. Since booking in December, communication was light, but I trusted that Charmaine had the information that she needed, and with the number of weddings she had designed at our venue, she knew what she was doing. Fast forward to our wedding day, our bouquets and large arrangement for the barrel were beautiful, but our arch was horrible. This was the standout piece of our ceremony, family photos and portraits. Despite our quote stating "same mix of flowers as in the personal flowers," our arch flowers were completely different colors and style of everything else Char provided for our wedding (Even the colors in the attached photos are softened by our photographer's editing). The morning of our wedding, as the bride, I was getting ready and not able to walk around and keep tabs on her floral designs, nor should we have to. Char or anyone from her crew did not check in with me or anyone in our wedding party before leaving to ensure we were happy with the result. When I did finally see it and questioned it, Char's text response was that it was a perfect match to our inspiration photo - which was provided as INSPIRATION and did not match our color scheme, which she clearly understood for all of the other floral pieces provided that day. I am shocked that a professional florist would create floral arrangements to be used in the same space that did not coordinate with the other pieces. In addition to this, the bulk of the arch pieces were re-used from the day before! Which, again, did not match ANYTHING ELSE and did not look the healthiest. As you can read in our email exchanges, we were never informed of Charmaine's intention to re-use these flowers, nor that we were "running out of budget". After our wedding, I reached out to Charmaine to share our dissatisfaction and hope that we could come to a reconciliation. She came off as combative, stated her full intention of re-using the flowers from day before and telling her couple that the "arch piece was not going to be 100% our choice". This response was absolutely appalling coming from a wedding vendor. I shared my response as well, and over the past 4 weeks Charmaine continues to put it off, stating that she is busy. She's already been paid, what does she care.
Sadly, I cannot recommend Charmaine with Affections Floral after our poor experience. -
