Future brides, one of the most important pieces of advice I can offer you as you plan your dream day is make sure that you love your photographer as much as you love your dress. I promise you're on track do just that after you finish reading all of these FIVE STAR reviews and book Aevitas Weddings. From our first email exchange to the big day itself, Henry was responsive, friendly, helpful, organized, attentive, and kind. He truly cares about his clients, and it shows -- I mean, he knew all of our parents by name! But his work truly speaks for itself. We could not be happier with our wedding photos. From the portraits to the candid moments, Henry captured every moment with both detail and whimsy. Thank you, Henry! -

Our search for the perfect photographer began with a list of companies provided to us by our wedding planner. We chose to work with Henry Chen at Aevitas Weddings because his style was the best fit for the vibe we were aiming for, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our decision. Henry was absolutely perfect from start to finish and completely surpassed our expectations. He understood that we wanted to eschew many conventional aspects of weddings but that ultimately, we still wanted to have a wedding. He also had extremely informative guides detailing exactly what we needed to do at each step and how we can ensure we are prepared, whether it was for the engagement photo session or for actual wedding day. Henry is also one of the most patient and truly kind individuals we have worked with - he constantly reassured us when we felt overwhelmed and stressed out by our schedule, and he made a tremendous effort to keep us at ease when there were a multitude of things going on at the same time. He also was just an awesome and pleasant person to hang around - he has mastered the art of arranging and taking our photos while still taking the time to have meaningful conversations and get to know our family, wedding party and friends.
One of the challenges that Henry handled with ease was incorporating our 90-pound German Shepherd Dog, Toffee, into both the engagement photo session and wedding day photos. Henry did a phenomenal job setting up the photos with Toffee, and it was not an easy task to get her to sit still and to look at the camera. Henry had to call her name constantly and try to get her attention, but his hard work paid off because he took some absolutely beautiful photos of her.
For our engagement photo shoot, Henry had helped us come up with a detailed itinerary for three different locations. A few days before the shoot, we suddenly had a change of heart and decided that we wanted to change up two of the locations - when we finally decided on which locations we wanted, it was already the day before the shoot. We wrote an apologetic email to Henry asking if it would be okay if we changed up some of the locations - not only was Henry very flexible and supportive, he also drove out to those locations on his own to scout them out the morning of the shoot. Our favorite photos from the shoot ended up being at a location (abandoned railroad tracks in South Los Angeles) that we found spontaneously because an accident had occurred where we were originally planning to shoot and we couldn't access the area. But all of this is a testament to Henry's professionalism and skill as a photographer in that he can roll with the punches and helped us come up with creative poses tho fit the surroundings of the area.
More nerve-wracking than the actual wedding day was all of the preparation leading up to the day. But Henry kept us on track by having us fill out a lengthy questionnaire that he then reviewed with us in detail for about an hour. The questionnaire and interview turned out to be pivotal tools for Henry to utilize in creating our final minute-by-minute schedule for wedding day. Then on the actual wedding day, we had rented a small apartment to get ready in; Henry fully utilized the space and also did a great job keeping the bridal party and groomsmen separated as much as possible. He was also especially accommodating because we didn't have a cocktail reception at our wedding, and so it was tremendously difficult to have to squeeze in photos with extended family members; we ended up having 20 different groups of family members and Henry handled the entire process so efficiently. During the actual wedding, Henry and his assistant were always nearby, ready to snap photos of us and our guests. He also worked extremely well with our videographer, making sure to ask our videographer if he had enough space to get the shots that he needed.
Lastly, we were beyond impressed by how quickly Henry presented our photos to us. Within two weeks of the wedding, Henry had published a sneak peek on his blog, with a detailed write-up of the entire day's events. We are so thrilled with how seriously Henry takes his job, knowing that he is a crucial part of our special day and all of the months of preparation leading up to the wedding. He kept us at ease in the midst of all the stress, made sure we were running on schedule, and most of all helped us enjoy the day as much as possible because we knew we didn't have to worry about our photos looking amazing. We definitely recommend Henry and Aevitas Weddings if you are looking for a truly amazing photographer who will also make your wedding experience as stress-free and fun as it can be. -

Highly recommend!!
My husband and I are extremely happy to have chosen Henry to capture the highlights of our small, but intimate celebration. Aevitas Weddings was actually the most expensive vendor we had booked for our little wedding––and to us, he was worth every dime we paid for!
Henry was extremely professional throughout the entire time, and it was clear how hard he worked both as a professional photographer and as a wedding vendor to ensure that we were as comfortable and stress-free on our happy day as possible. Most people had even come up to me after our event, commenting on how lovely he was, and how much they were looking forward to the end products after seeing how skillfully he directed and organized people for shots, photos, candids, and even the spontaneous request or two. When we finally got all of our images from him on his website, no words can describe how blown away we and our families and friends were by how beautifully they turned out.
Photography is sadly one thing that people overlook when planning for a wedding. In the process of choosing vendors, many of my own friends and family had even suggested that I find a cheaper alternative, or rely on someone in the party to take the photos instead. After both the fun, stress-free experience that Henry had provided, as well as receiving such wonderful photos, I can safely say that going with a professional like Aevitas Weddings was the right choice for us. I'll happily recommend Henry to anyone who wants to have a good experience and to have beautiful keepsakes that they can treasure for years to come. -

Aevitas Weddings (Henry Chen) was the first vendor we booked after locking down our wedding venue. My husband, Ronnie, and I planned our Southern California wedding from New York and Henry went above and beyond to assure that we could be comfortable and confident in our choice in him as our wedding photographer. Communication with Henry was as effortless as could be – he even went so far as to ask if there is any way he could help or offer advice when it came to other aspects of the planning process!
His presence in his e-mails was friendly and professional off-the-bat, asking more about us, how my husband and I met, etc. Closer to our wedding date, we set up a video call where Henry made sure to learn of any specific shots we wanted, any particular family dynamics he should be made aware of, and the like. It made working with him on our big day all the more comfortable and stress-free.
Throughout the wedding itself, Henry and his assistant, Travis, were exceptional. The finished photo products were proof that my husband and I had made the right choice in choosing Henry and Aevitas Weddings to capture our most beautiful, important moments from our big day. I would recommend Henry to anyone looking for stunning, timeless pictures that you can love and cherish for a lifetime.

Henry and his team did all the photography for our wedding and I can honestly say that they are WONDERFUL. Extremely professional and maintain laser focus on delivering your wedding photos regardless of what other chaos may lurk in the background.
Henry made an effort to try and get to know my husband and me before the wedding (we lived across the country so this took place via video calls) so he got a good grasp of how we interact. He also took care to learn about our families and different dynamics.
We appreciate all the care he took into capturing special moments AND oftentimes, corralling us along as needed. It was actually really handy!

We Are So Lucky to Have Found Henry!
Words can not express how thankful my husband and I are that we found Henry! While we were searching for wedding photographers, Henry's photos stood out to me as being vibrant and captivating. To put it simply, I was blown away! When I contacted him, I was greeted with positivity and genuine excitement. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, he was always there for me and my husband, and that meant a lot to us!
We did our engagement photos with him as well as our wedding photos, and every picture he took captured a different memory. During the event, Henry was warm, patient and professional. We received the highest of compliments from our guests about how kind Henry and his assistant were! My husband and I are so lucky to have had Henry be our wedding photographer! My wife and I had a wonderful experience working with Henry as our photographer. He was extremely professional in every sense of the word. Originally, we went with Aevitas/Henry solely because we like style of the photographer, not expecting much. However, we were pleasantly surprised at how professional Henry was. Henry was every organized and extremely easy to work with. He pretty much organized all our meetings, shootings, and follow ups. He even had quicks tips and questionnaires to try to get to know us! We never had to stress out about it at all (which took a huge load off our mind!). If anything, he was the one that was urging us to stick to schedule. Another thing, we really valued how patient and hardworking he was. We didn’t have a wedding organizer on the day of and we were running behind schedule. Henry was able to organize everyone for group photos, even though he didn’t know a shred of Vietnamese. Much appreciated!
TLDR: He is very professional, organize and very easy to work with. We highly recommend Henry/Aevitas.

Excellent photographer!
Choosing Henry as our photographer for our special day was easily the best decision!!
As any newly engaged couples know, wedding planning can get very overwhelming, very quickly. After perusing The Knot, WeddingWire, HereComesTheGuide, and Yelp, I contacted multiple photographers, and Henry from Aevitas Wedding was the first one we interviewed via FaceTime. From our first conversation, it felt like talking to an old friend. Henry asked about how my fiancé and I met, and what our vision for the wedding was, and articulately answered my long list of questions for him. We ultimately chose Aevitas Wedding because we loved the sample photo gallery, we appreciated the many years of experience, and we were blown away by Henry's attention to detail and attentiveness to our needs. Henry's organization & accessibility helped put my mind at ease.
We did an engagement session, with multiple locations in Pasadena/LA area. Henry went early to our first location, only to find out that a movie was being filmed there, and we would have to improvise and go with a secondary location. By showing up early, Henry helped diffuse the situation and quickly recommended a contingency plan. It could have been a disaster, but thanks to Henry's calm & collected manner, it went so well. The photoshoot felt effortless, and Henry made my fiancé and I feel so at ease. We loved the way our engagement photos came out!
On the day of the wedding, Henry and his assistants did a spectacular job with our multiple locations (getting ready - church wedding - reception), and working within our timeline. Henry even took the time to learn the names of family members, so that he was able to ask for them by name when taking group photos. I thought that was a very thoughtful and personal touch. Henry also provided a PDF of tips to help photos run smoothly on the day-of, as well as a comprehensive questionnaire to go over all the details. When there was slight schedule change at the church, Henry offered to swing by the church a week prior to our wedding to scope out the surrounding area for alternate photo-ops for our first look. Henry runs his business efficiently and provides a personal touch that we really appreciated. The full wedding photo gallery was available within a month from our wedding. There were so many gorgeous photos! We didn't provide a detailed "shot list", but Henry and his assistants were able to capture all of the big and small details of our big day. We wanted photos that captured the essence of our wedding day, and photos that looked natural and not too posed, and Henry and his team delivered just that, and more!
Thank you Henry for all your hard work, and for being one of our favorite wedding vendors! You helped our day go by so smoothly and captured the memories of our "best day ever" for years to come. -

Henry, you are nothing short of amazing! After many hours of searching for the perfect photographer to capture our wedding, my husband and I decided to put our trust in Henry. We did a phone interview with him I knew we had to book him immediately. He is the nicest most genuine person and I can’t be happier to have found him.
His photos are absolutely beautiful and I loved that he has extensive experience photographing weddings of so many different cultures. I am from an Iranian background and he knew the meaning and significance of our culturally traditions and made sure to capture those moments for us.
Henry flew in for the day to do our Engagement photos in San Francisco. We had a very fun day taking photos in multiple different locations. After seeing our engagement photos I was elated and could not wait to see pictures of our wedding.
Our wedding was in Sacramento, CA on a very hot day. Henry worked tirelessly to make sure he captured the most amazing photos of us. You can truly tell that he loves what he does and wants to make the experience fun while getting the most photos time will allow. Countless wedding guest complemented him and said they have never seen such a nice and hard working photographer.
Aside from his raw talent, Henry is meticulously organized. Something I personally needed. He helped redo my entire wedding timeline and I am so glad I took his advice on everything. There is now wonder why he has so many happy clients. -

Aevitas Weddings!!! Simply the best in the business! Henry embodies everything you hope to find in an amazing photographer and person, truly understanding and professional, always kind to our vision. He is worth every penny and so much more! From the first email we exchanged, he was very knowledgeable, quick to respond to any and all of my questions. He made us not only feel at ease but welcomed and comfortable working with him. He doesn’t just snap away pictures, he genuinely wants to get to know you. Henry's photos speak for themselves; he creates amazing art with his camera and manages to capture every detail that makes each couple's wedding special and unique. Our wedding was bright, joyous, and full of color, and he tailored his style to portray it perfectly. His photos not only preserve how everything looked, but also how we FELT on the best day of our lives. We got our beautiful posed portraits, sure, but some of our most treasured photos are the candid ones – the ones that show me ugly-crying during our first look and my ever-calm husband wiping the tears from my eyes, the ones that show us laughing uproariously during the best man’s speech, the ones that show us skyping with a would-be groomsman who couldn’t make it. Maybe those aren’t the ones we frame (we certainly have plenty of frame-worthy ones too), but they comprise an honest and intimate portrayal of our wedding. Every smile, every tear, every gasp, every heartbeat skipped– Henry caught it all on camera so we can truly relive that day over and over. Our memories may fade, but these photos will always bring those emotions rushing back.
What you can't see from Henry’s photos is Henry himself: approachable, accommodating, reassuring, encouraging, and professional. While there are many stressful things about having a wedding, we never had a single concern about Henry. We knew his photos would be amazing from his portfolio, but he went so far above and beyond our expectations. Throughout the planning process, he basically filled the role of photographer, wedding planner, and day-of coordinator. He responded to our many emails promptly, went through our many spreadsheets, and worked with us to create our day-of timeline. We had a morning wedding, so getting started early and staying on schedule was critical. On the day of, he texted me when he arrived, made sure everyone was where they needed to be, stuck to the timeline, and somehow managed to organize our big and complicated families into perfectly coordinated group photos. After the wedding, we even dragged him to Santa Monica Pier for a fun photoshoot in the sunset lighting. Henry always felt like just another close friend spending the day with us. Walking around the crowded pier and riding the ferris wheel in my wedding dress while posing for pictures was one of the most abnormal things I've ever done, but he made it feel normal. And because it felt normal, we were comfortable just being ourselves, and that’s how he was able to use his talents to capture our candid emotions and preserve them forever. We feel so lucky that we found Henry just as word was getting out that he's truly the best there is! -

We can't say enough about Henry as a person and as a photographer. Our wedding was particularly stressful as we were planning for a ceremony/reception in LA while we were finishing up school in Baltimore, MD. Henry was fantastic at communicating with us to figure out what we wanted, which was incredibly important since we weren't going to have a videographer. After seeing the photos, we firmly believe the videographer would have been superfluous given the amazing photos Henry and his team were able to capture.
If you still aren't convinced, here are extra reasons why we chose Henry:
1) He shoots in a wide range of styles. His portfolio has the traditional bright and cheery photos of most wedding photographers but also has some bold and dramatic black and white shots with lots of contrast.
2) He was so on top of his game that we never once had to ask him for any information or tell him where to go. This was a deal-breaker given our distance planning.
3) His prices were affordable and his work more than merits the cost.
4) He got us photos after only two or three weeks, which is lightspeed in terms of professional photography, especially given we had over a thousand photos to sift through!
5) Henry and his team are super professional. Kind of a given, but on the day of when things are hectic, when family members are becoming demanding, when the church coordinator is springing new rules on us...Henry and his team adapted well and were amiable and professional during the entire day.
At the end of the day, Henry and his team not only got us great photos at a great price but were also genuinely fun to work with. All of our smiles in our photographs are completely genuine, which always makes for the best photos! -

Beyond amazing!
If you are in the search for the perfect wedding photographer...stop here! Henry and his team are amazing. From the day we decided to go with Henry, he was a pleasure to work with. He was amazing to work with at our engagement shoot in Joshua Tree National Park in 2017, and he did an incredible job on our wedding day in August of this year. His skills with the camera are one thing, but his planning and communication were beyond amazing. The angels, colors and shades of his photos are incredible.
Henry is extremely easy to work with. He comes prepared and is so friendly to work with. On our wedding day, he made things so easy for us!
The one thing that we loved about working with Henry and the Aevitas team, was that Henry is passionate about what he does. From the day you meet him, you really get a sense of his passion and commitment to making sure you get photos you love, and an experience worth treasuring forever.

Gail Sent on 09/26/2018My husband and I had the pleasure of having Henry as our photographer for our wedding.. and let me tell you how AMAZING he is at what he does. We found him through the work he did for our cousins wedding a couple years ago, and after seeing how beautiful their wedding photos were, we knew we had to have him for our special day. Thank God we did because not only were our wedding photos absolutely beautiful, Henry was also able to really become a helping hand for me during my wedding.
While working with Henry, he sent us a questionnaire as a way to get to know us better, which I really appreciated. It made our E-Session fun, knowing that he knew what we were about and what we wanted. For our wedding he also wanted to know who's who. And I can tell he really went through it because he was able to talk to my bridesmaids easily by knowing each and everyone's names.
I can't tell you how much of a big part Henry was during our special day. He went above and beyond to make sure our expectations were met and then some. The schedule he drafted and the timely manner he delivered things were excellent. The level of professionalism that Henry provided is something that not too many people can possess. Out of all of our vendors, Henry was the one that stood out the most. We're so glad that we chose him and we're so grateful for his hard work!! -

Henry's photos have character and vibrance. They are nicely structured without being unnatural, and they really capture the moment. Henry did our engagement photos and our wedding photos. From the beginning, he sat down with us to talk and get to know us. He really cared about understanding us as a couple, which put us at ease to take pictures. He works very fast, both in taking photos and in post-production. We got hundreds of photos from our engagement session and nearly 1500 photos from our wedding, and he turned both sets around in a matter of weeks. He was easy to work with, accommodating, professional, and kind. We are so happy we had Henry as our photographer. Thanks to him, we will cherish our photos forever. Thank you, Henry!!

Jie Sent on 07/03/2018I have been admiring Henry’s work since before I got engaged so of course when the time came to choose a photographer I immediately contacted Aevitas weddings . He was quick to respond and worked with me while I was in between wedding dates and venues! He really tries his best to accommodate his couples and I could tell immediately that he whole heartedly wants your experience with him to be the smoothest and easiest part of wedding planning. We chose Henry to take our engagement and wedding day photos and he lived up to all my expectations! Both my husband and I don’t usually love taking photos and was worried our photos would look too posed or awkward but with Henry’s direction and guidance our photos turned out stunning! We felt relaxed and more importantly we felt very comfortable working with Henry! He made sure we were running on time on our wedding day and captured the day beautifully! He made us a wedding day slideshow that captured all the feels for the day and watching it made me feel like I was reliving all the best moments. Lisa Sent on 05/23/2018I can't possibly extol Henry Chen's talents and virtues adequately. Where to start? He is lovely. Henry was extremely responsive, communicative and thoughtful from jump. He made us comfortable and took great interest in our personalities and preferences throughout the process. The day of our Malibu beach elopement, he arrived with boundless energy, creativity and unfailing enthusiasm. I generally do NOT like my image in pictures and would have been pleased with a handful of good photos. I am delighted to report, an embarrassment of riches; I have hundreds that I LOVE. And. He made it FUN. Besides marrying my true prince charming, Henry was the highlight of my precious wedding day. And now, so ingrained in our sublime experience, he will remain with us through our photographic memories, for posterity. (Worth noting: We live in Ohio and knew nothing of the So Cal wedding scene. Yet, I changed my wedding date from a Saturday to a Monday - just to be able to work with Henry Chen. My initial instincts - based on his website gallery alone, were spot-on. He was a true and natural partner in the process and in our day - so very able to capture every subtle nuance of our individual and collective personalities. I can never thank Henry enough. We first met with him at his home office where we had the opportunity to see photos and albums from over the years. It really allowed us to see his progress as a photographer which is why we were so excited to move forward and lock him in for our big day!
The attached photos are from our engagement shoot which was a fantastic experience even though it was freezing outside. We went to two different locations and he had creative ideas for both. He maximized what limited sunlight we had that day and utilized additional lighting to enhance the photos. They turned out stunning!
Our wedding was truly an all day event and Aevitas weddings was there to capture those special moments from start to finish. The photos turned out amazing and we can't wait for our albums to arrive!

Jessica Sent on 01/28/2018Henry shot our engagement pictures and our wedding and it was one of the best decisions my wife and I made. From the very first day, Henry displayed excellent communication and professionalism, as he immediately makes you feel that everything is under control and he will guide you through. He responds to emails very quickly (within 1 hour) and is very patient and attentive.
Henry is really easy to work with and is on top of everything. He went the extra mile to make sure our wedding was amazing.. from setting up meetings to arriving early and staying as late as we needed him to. He was very helpful and provided us with tips that would allow us to stay organized and on schedule. Henry is also very friendly and memorizes your family members’ names making it easy for him to get the family ready which helps stay on schedule. I would recommend the engagement shoot as we felt it helped during the wedding as we felt comfortable with Henry and understood the timing of the photograph sequences.
The photos came out phenomenal and we have tons of excellent pictures. Henry truly has an eye for photography and is very passionate. His photography is vibrant, artistic, and captures the best candid moments.
My wife and I have been and will continue to highly recommend Henry to anyone in need of a photographer. Thank you so much Henry!

Yes Henry is prompt, professional to a T, creative, but the most important part, the one we all care about the most - HE TAKES THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS. His photos had my family in tears. I have had family and friends just raving on about the photos captured and it's quality. Henry is a very personable, caring, easy to work with and a very professional wedding photographer. Before meeting Henry for our first shoot (engagement photos), we had already exchanged several emails and even a video conference call where my husband I are able to meet him and got to know him a little bit. He made our engagement shoot go very smoothly, which I thought would be so difficult know my husband and I. He had very good directions on the poses and even though I was reluctant on some of them, I've got to say he knows best, because the photos came out amazing! Between the engagement photos and the wedding day, we exchanged more emails and another video conference call where Henry and I discussed the timeline of the wedding and what photos were to be taken. This was a very long meeting, but Henry made sure to get all the information to make the day go smoothly as possibly while capturing all the moments. I am not much of a wedding planner, and was so grateful to have such an experienced photographer to help me through the timeline planning as well as the entire wedding day! Henry captured SOOOOO many photos from the wedding day and it allows me to reminisce back to one of the best days of my life! To top it off he created a slide show which really took me back to that date! I was so excited to see the sneak peek blog, which was posted within 2 weeks of the wedding. Henry also provided with some early edited pictures so we could use them for our holiday cards! The rest of the photos were sent over within a month of the wedding! SO FAST and ALL SO GREAT!

We live in Phoenix, AZ but wanted our engagement shoot in Southern California. SO needless to say, most of our discussion was a lot of back and forth mailed and I have to say, Henry made it EXTREMELY easy throughout our email conversations to arrange our engagement shoot and figure out details of how we were going to get it done! His friendly nature while maintaining professionalism made us feel super comfortable in his presence.
We loved those moments captured by Henry so much - we knew we had made the best choice possible and a sense of relief that we now had a photographer for our wedding day as well.
For our wedding day, I loved that Henry was very detail oriented in that we had a solid timeline written out which helped keeping things running smoothly on the day of the wedding. Through his pictures, we are able to live through that day over and over again because of all the details and portraits and the natural emotions that Henry was able to capture for us.
I can't thank you enough Henry!! We couldn't have asked for more or better :) -

My husband, Mark, and I absolutely love everything about him and his beautiful photos he captured during our engagement and wedding! He was the first photographer we'd met, we totally connected immediately ( like seeing an old friend) and so we booked him right away... then our story began from that day on. From our engagement photos to our last moment of our " happily ever after", and sharing our lives in between our big events, words cannot express for such blessing experience with Henry. After some research and viewing portfolios, I absolutely fell in love with his beautiful and captivating pictures! Henry can capture incredible moments in an extraordinary way. His ability to take candid pictures is breathtaking! Henry is a true professional and detailed oriented in every way. His attention to every detail from our first meeting to the wedding day was impressive. We appreciated his interest in getting to know us as a couple and our families.
