If you are looking for drama with an outdoor setting, Acqua Hotel has it all. We are so happy to have used their hotel to create such drama with an amazing back drop. The accommodations were also very convenient at a reasonable rate.

We chose the Acqua Hotel as one of two hotels to recommend to our guests. This was our luxurious option, and Travelodge was our cheap option. Our favorite part about the Acqua Hotel was that rather than requiring us to book a whole block of rooms, they gave us a discount code that any quantity of guests could use. In the end, many guests decided to stay elsewhere because of cost, but Acqua never complained or punished us for that. My parents thought their room (a Queen bed room) was too shabby for the price. My bridesmaids and husband and I were thrilled with our Junior Suite! The bridesmaids stayed with me the night before, and the Acqua Hotel brought an extra bed for them (at $20 extra per bridesmaid and $20 extra for rollaway bed). Unfortunately, the Acqua Hotel wouldn't let my (adult) flower girl stay as well, because they said 4 people was the maximum for the suite, even though the room clearly had space for at least one more person (and even a chaise longue that she could have slept on). The view was gorgeous and the breakfast was the best I've ever had in a hotel. There was also tea by Republic of Tea available 24/7, as well as a wine and cheese reception at 5:00, a cookie reception at 7:00, and a bottle of champagne in the room. (FYI, the cost of $585.22 was for 2 nights.)

Immediately after we arrived, my fiancée and I were stunned by the view. The setting is tranquil and serene - you are standing at the edge of he Richardson Bay. The location has a gorgeous Bayside Lawn for your ceremony or reception, adjacent to the ballroom (which has light oak wood floors, white walls and white curtains, providing a neutral palette for all brides).

The hotel only works with one caterer, D'Angelo's, who also have a restaurant downtown Mill Valley. We tasted there after our visit - delicious! Great happy hour too!

We never actually arranged a site visit with the hotel because I never heard back, so we just dropped in ?? Fortunately, we came by on a week day and were given a tour by the impeccable sales manager, Judy. Of all the venues we toured, no one has the talent or grace to match her level of professionalism. My only qualm is that it took weeks to hear back to finally reserve a date. This is a small, sophisticated hotel, surrounded by nature, with 50 rooms and right outside SF, so they stay busy!

Since the location is right on the Bay, it can be a little breezy, so that's something to keep in mind. The location is set next to a business park, so not a whole of options for photos on your big day - with the exception of the VIEW and a pier. We may have our reception at Old Mill Park or the Community Church, both in Mill Valley.

The hotel rooms are clean and modern and include a view of the water - so peaceful. They are also dog friendly! We can't wait to have our wedding celebration here and are beyond grateful for the staff's help.
