Our wedding was very small and the guest list consisted of primarily family members so we weren't sure what to expect with dancing. However, Matthew was able to read the room and played a wide variety of music that got everyone out of their seats!

Fantastic wedding dj
Like most couples we did a lot of research and talked with a number of folks trying to decide who to trust as the DJ/MC for our big day. We could not have been happier with our choice.
Matthew took the time to get to know us, understand what kind of music and atmosphere we were going for at the ceremony/reception. He kept things fun, and engaging through out. We also had a few curveballs thrown at us leading up to, and on the day of the wedding and Matthew was flexible and very responsive.

From my first message inquiring about their services, Matthew was quick to respond back to me. He explained everything in detail and walked me through the whole process. He made sure that my day was everything that I wanted it to be! I didn’t hire a wedding planner, I did everything myself. Matthew was very knowledgeable about what should happen first at the reception and what type of music would work with each step of the reception. He was there early to set up and Matthew made sure that we were all prepared before announcing us. His energy is amazing!!! He even had the old folks out on the dance floor! I very highly recommend ACME DJ’s especially if you are doing all of the planning yourself! We all had a blast, young and old!

Matt did such a wonderful job with our wedding. We were so nervous when picking a DJ because we wanted someone that could cater to our crowd and he did just that. We only talked briefly a couple times but he encompassed everything we wanted. Also, his prices are so reasonable and easily outcompete every other DJ service we looked into hiring. Matthew was the perfect DJ for our wedding day! He was professional, communicative, and truly delivered when we really didn't give him much guidance for our music playlist. Matthew was a great entertainer and had our guests (and us) on the dance floor all night long! He even went above and beyond when our ceremony was unexpectedly delayed and kept our guests informed with frequent updates for when the ceremony would start. Dance the night away with the best DJ in town!
Matt Izzo is literally a beast! He was recommended to me by my photographer, and I'm so thankful I listened to the high praise put upon him, as he deserved every word! From the very beginning, during the start of COVID, Matt was communicative, professional and personable! The phone conversation prior to hiring him was effortless and informative and made me feel at ease with my decision to hire him! Throughout the two years of our planning period, I would check in on him every six months or so to be sure all was good and each time he responded letting me know our day was important and he wouldn't miss it! Matt at Acme DJ's was so charismatic and flawless at our wedding and helped our ceremony and reception flow so effortlessly! He even made his way to the dance floor to help some guests in desperate need of dancing the electric slide, and he did it with style! I also asked that I include a special dance for my dad and sister, as my dad broke his neck and had to miss my sister's wedding, so I wanted them to have a first dance together, finally. Matt helped coordinate that special dance and his help was so appreciated! Also, he has various packages included, but if you're thinking about using uplights, I highly recommend them! He managed to get the perfect shade of blue-ish teal to match our wedding colors, and it truly gave the reception that extra pop! So impressive! Please don't hesitate to choose Acme DJ's as Matt will go above and beyond to make you and your guests have the time of your lives!

Hire this dj!
If you need a DJ this is your guy. He’s incredibly responsive and can really read the room of people who aren’t dancers. My friend requested one Blink128 song and it got the people going! So he made sure to throw in some punk rock and it honestly was the highlight of my night.
He also was very professional and kept us and my coordinators up to speed with everything. The music transitions were spot on and he was just an all around great guy.

Matt did an amazing job! Our wedding was at the Marriott VB Resort and we had about 100 guests. We planned our wedding from Florida and he was so easy to work with, including rounding up a wedding party of 16 people (which stresses me out just thinking about it). He helped transition each piece of our reception with ease from cake cutting to first dances. Matt was an incredible DJ for our event. With the last-minute rain plan change, Matt transitioned from an outdoor to an indoor venue so smoothly. I had multiple guests tell me that they loved the DJ because Matt played AMAZING DANCE SONGS. It was so great that they didn't even want to take a break from dancing! My grandmother told me it was the best wedding she'd ever been to, and she doesn't just say that that! Morgan (my HUSBAND) and I loved our day and Matt was so incredible. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We booked ACME very early and Matthew’s communication was very attentive the whole time: he addressed all questions, details, and changes patiently and timely. He ensured that we were confident in every detail of our wedding day and it was so nice to feel his enthusiasm for ensuring an awesome day.

Great party, great DJ!
We are a DC-based couple who postponed and moved our wedding to the Williamsburg/Yorktown area on a family private residence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The groom is a professional musician and wedding band veteran, and our original wedding had a live band booked. When we couldn’t bring the band three hours south to our new venue, we were a little reluctant to book a DJ. Matthew at Acme DJ’s not only won us over- he went the extra mile to give us a truly unique experience and ultimately won over our inner music snobbery!
From the first consultation down to the level of detail he paid attention to in planning the dinner set, nothing was too small for Matthew’s focus. He spent over an hour on the phone with us going over the timeline, special requests, name pronunciations, and was even able to give us great ideas when we were indecisive on a few things. He was an excellent team player, and worked well with other vendors, including our very detail-oriented wedding planner!
We had a very special request; a series of songs we wanted to be played in a specific sequence to pay our respects to the family members who traveled a long distance. Even a professional band would’ve probably said no to this crazy request since it was pretty intricate. Matthew not only indulged us- he NAILED it! It ended up being the hit of the night, and we were so grateful he would do it for us!
We had nothing but great feedback from our guests. Matthew kept the playlist varied, and everyone’s tastes in music were met. He kept the party going and the entire event went very smooth. If you’re looking for a DJ, look no further and book him NOW!

All we heard from our guests was how much fun they had at the reception. Matthew was awesome! Matt and Roy were phenomenal to work with. The communication between them and us was stellar. Matt called us within 24 hours of reaching out through Weddingwire to set up everything. Roy FaceTimed with us about a week and a half before the wedding to verify all the details. And, when the Governor put the 25 person restriction in place, Roy called to see if we were okay or if we needed anything.
The music during the ceremony and reception was perfect. And even though we had a very small group, there were always a few people on the dance floor.

Great Experience and Fun Wedding with Acme
We really enjoyed working with Matt and Roy! They were both very responsive during the planning process and had a lot of info ready to go which made planning the timeline for the reception super easy. We gave a few suggestions for songs and some genres and Roy was able to turn that into some awesome dancing and mingling music. We had one of those 2020 weddings in which our April date was canceled because of COVID and rescheduled to August. We worked with Roy Shaw who was incredibly easy to work with. I had songs that can only be found on CD and Roy came by and picked up the CDS, downloaded them and included them in the playlist. I can't recommend Roy highly enough. Everyone loved the music and we had a wonderful time.

We were pleased with the Matthews professionalism and quality of work. He did a great job with the music at the wedding with a wire less system and played fun music at the reception. We Danced All Night
If I could give 10 stars I would. Matt was by far the best. From our first meeting, he listened to what we wanted and delivered. He helped me pick out songs for our ceremony -- I didn't want traditional music but still something instrumental and "loving". He had selections that I never knew existed. He had us fill out a Day of itinerary that would detail the timeline and what songs we wanted. During the reception, every song had our guests dancing. I received compliments from the older guests to the little ones. He also catered to my daughter, nieces, and nephews. Making sure he played their favorite songs. It was so cute seeing the little ones dancing. We could not have asked for a better DJ. Anyone looking for that special vendor -- Look no further than Matthew from Acme DJs.

Matt truly went above and beyond our expectations at a very affordable cost! This is a bit overdue, well actually way overdue, but I want to say that Acme DJs of Virginia has given us the best experience any Bride and Groom could ever receive. Matthew Izzo was not only professionally knowledgeable in his vast array of music selections, but he was very personable and kindhearted. We were so happy we decided to go with Matt of ACME DJs for our wedding day. We have very eclectic music tastes and he had a large selection of just about everything we were looking for. He was very responsive throughout the process leading up to the big day and made us feel very confident we would be leaving our day in good hands. My guests said they had a great time and his fun personality showed throughout the night. His energy and positivity ensured everyone had a great time. He knew the appropriate music to play according to what point of the night it was and we had a blast with him leading the “newlywed game”. Guests were given direction and the timeline was followed well. He worked with the other vendors wonderfully to ensure everything happened on time.

Matt was great! We had such a good time at our wedding - he was super flexible when a large group of guests showed up early he was accommodating. We were ahead of schedule most of the night and he worked with us to make sure everything went smoothly. Would absolutely recommend!

Matthew was great! He helped us before the wedding come up with playlists and really worked with us to make sure it was the music we wanted. He was a fantastic entertainer and easily got the energy and crowd going the entire time! He even got out there for some of the line dances to help people who didn't know how to do them (me!). Matt was great to work with for our wedding. The reception went off without any issues and I attribute that largely in part to him being very detailed oriented. Matt was fun to work with and he had all the guests up and dancing. He is very professional and my husband and I highly recommend him.

I absolutely LOVED having Matt provide entertainment and music for my big day. Initially, we weren't planning on having a DJ, so finding and booking him was a pretty last-minute thing for us. He did everything in his power to accommodate us, even meeting me on Saturdays and Sundays so I could work around my two-job schedule. He provided music for the ceremony and the reception, and helped me set up a timeline for how I wanted the evening to go. He is extremely knowledgeable, profoundly helpful, and he has playlists for every single situation and musical preference. He kept the evening rolling smoothly, got all of our introductions perfect, kept everyone on track for the cake-cutting, and had every song request you could think of. The added lighting that he recommended for our venue was absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend Acme DJs highly enough to anyone in Hampton Roads looking for wedding-day entertainment!

I cannot say enough good things about Matthew and Acme DJs! He was the absolute BEST DJ! From the moment I first contacted him inquiring about pricing and services, he was so responsive. I never had to wait a long time to hear back from him, he was extremely easy to work with and so incredibly nice! At our first meeting, I knew he was the DJ I wanted for my wedding! He helped plan out the timeline for my big day and helped bring my vision to life by suggesting the perfect song selections when I was stuck. I told him I wanted my wedding to be a big dance party after dinner and the toasts and all that and he delivered! Everyone ended up on the dance floor at some point. It was a huge dance party, I danced all night long. Even my grandparents ended up on the dance floor! I really cannot say enough good things. Matthew delivered on everything I wanted and made my special day beyond perfect. It was everything I dreamed of and more. Thank you, Matthew!!

Matthew was amazing! He had us dancing all night long. I really loved how he came down onto the dance floor during the big dances to help the crowd with the moves and when he introduced the bouquet and garter toss. It made the night more personal. I would recommend him for any bride who wants to dance the night away.

Our DJ was Matthew Izzo. I got him from online due to other positive reviews. His services were as good as the other reviews led me to believe. He was very responsive to my text in a timely manner. Our wedding was very Caribbean with an American twist to it and he was still able to pull this off. I always thought that I would have had to get a DJ from NY but he proved me wrong. His versatility was good. He played music that suited our blend and he also coordinated the activities very well. Because of his professionalism and dedication to his job our special day went just how we imagined. He really went beyond the call of duty and was able to advise me in areas that I was unsure of. He really knows what he is doing and trys his best to meet your needs. My hubby and I are really gratful and happy that he was a part of our team. His work always remained in our best interest and that we would never forget. He made things much easier at a time when brides and grooms get stressed out from months of preparation. His price is also very good n ez on the pockets. For all those who are looking for an outstanding DJ......look no further!! Matthew is certainly the one!!!
