  Backyard wedding

  I called around to a few places and Able has the best prices AND everything that I wanted. One stop shopping. They set up a 30 x 60 tent in my yard, with lights and a dance floor. They set up a trailer restroom which was clean and had water in it, toilet paper and paper towels plus baskets in each side with things you might need at a wedding--powder, deodorant, dental floss, tissues, etc.
  The crew came and talked over placement of the tent before starting and worked quickly.
  Everyone was helpful--Alicia in the office, as well as anyone else who may have answered the phone or my several e mails. They did not try to upsell... Read more

  I used Able Smith Tent for my June 2nd wedding. They went above and beyond to help me with the planning process and in the end it all went very smoothly. My linens were pressed, the colors were perfect and they delivered and picked up exactly as promised. They helped turn my visions into reality and I couldn't have been happier with the way everything turned out. They also had the best prices of any of the other vendors that I contacted. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

  The tent was set up as promised the Wednesday before the wedding, along with tables, chairs and linens. The rest room was also set up as promised. Everything was beautiful for our day! We appreciate how well Able Smith Tent helped!!!

  Prices were great! Crew was amazing unfortunately they had to work in the rain and in the duck setting up for my wedding,. But they got it done! And they were great about it. Thank you very much Able Smith Tent!

  We rented the tent for our reception here and it was great. They were very helpful, they had a big selection of add-ons, many we hadnt even though of. The prices were fair and with the lighting in the tent that our DJ set up, as soon as dusk fell, it was AWESOME. Very cool and I'd recommend going this way for an outdoor wedding. Much more cost effective and if you get good weather, it's really nice.

  High quality rentals with the best price point in CNY

  We used Able Smith to rent multiple items for our outdoor wedding on a private property in September 2018 just outside of Utica, NY. We found out about Able Smith from a recommendation of a family friend who had used their services in Summer 2017. We rented the following from them: 40x80 white pole tent, solid walls for the tent, a restroom trailer, linens for our rectangular dinner tables, linen napkins, burlap table runners for the dining tables, linens to cover hay bales that guests sat on for the ceremony and linens for our tall, round cocktail tables.

  They were more than happy to delivery to us (1+ hours away), which we greatly appreciated because they were by far the best price in the central NY area for the things we were looking for.
  
  There wasn’t an event coordinator to work with in the beginning when we first started reaching out for quotes and putting down deposits. So, it was very hard to nail someone down who could help us. We often tried email and phone calls but everything needed to be routed through the owner who wasn’t often in the office.
  
  Fortunately, the event coordinator - Larissa - returned (YAY!) before our wedding and she was WONDERFUL to work with. She was super responsive on phone and email, and helpful with recommendations when we had questions.
  
  We were asking for delivery for items to a location that was 1+ hours from Cicero, NY - so the tent delivery was very late on the day they delivered (dusk). The delivery team set up the tent up in the dark and didn’t leave until well after 9pm. They did a good job - but this is something to keep in mind if you do live farther away. That being said.
  
  All in all, we here very happy with the quality of items that we used for our wedding and the service provided by the business. We would absolutely use them again in the future!

  My venue recommended I utilize Able Smith. They did a good job of getting the chairs & tents to the location. I chose to set up chairs instead of paying per chair set up and tear down. My husband and his groomsmen had to assist with the set up of the tent the day of. I did have a difficult time getting anyone to respond to phone messages or emails, and a few times when they told me they would email me back they did not. I had to be VERY persistent with them. I also had one of their "set up" guys call me on the day of - not something I wanted to be dealing with as a bride.

I did call and stress what I had heard and how important it was that the porto potty, tent, table and chairs be clean and in good condition. The only issue I had was that the black chairs were rusty and dirty. The tent was clean which was another concern of mine, hearing how a few people had dirty stained tents delivered.   Awful service

  Will do anything to steal your money. They took more then the told deposit and refunded me nothing in less then 30 days. Also there’s multiple company names very uncertain when I looked at reviews from other company they were terrible of course. I wasn’t told ahead of time they were connected when I purposely tried to avoid that other company. A year out from the wedding and they couldn’t give any money back or even communicate. I emailed I texted I called and got nothing back what a sad company who’s tents are disgusting anyways, read reviews don’t rent from them or Syracuse tent and events same owner. He is awful,

  I will not give up until I have my refund. There is absolutely no excuse or reasoning otherwise… my experience with this company is absolutely terrible and I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody. Listen to other peoples reviews.. I wish I did! There were so many terrible ones….

  False advertising

  We were extremely disappointed with our rental which wasn’t as advertised. When we talked to the owner he did want to hear it or do anything for us. I saw the reviews were bad before hand but they sold us on the rental when I should have trusted the poor reviews and my gut. Had the same experience most people are having. Working on legal action against the company now. Do not trust!!!!

I booked them about 4 months before my event for a product and they called me the day of my wedding (as I was getting my makeup done) to tell me the shipment they got in that day was wrong and that I wouldn't be getting what I ordered. They would not answer any of our phone calls until I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. I also had to go to my bank because they didn't want to refund me.

  Left their tent/chairs grill in our yard for 3 days beyond specified pick up. Left porta potty 4 days. They didn't care! Heed the warning!

  Completely unreliable, atrocious service. The portapotty we rented for my daughter's wedding arrived in the middle of the reception, not the day before as we expected and still has not been picked up THREE WEEKS LATER!

They did not even make the tent stable, the next day some of the guys had to redo several of the posts. They also did not set anything else up. We had to come extra early to set things up and then continue doing that after our hair and make up was done (which when you are paying people and they do a great job with your hair and make up and then you have to run around sweating trying to put stuff together - does not make for a happy bridal party). These are all things we were prepared to do and decorate the day before but instead we sat around wasting our time waiting for a company that could not even communicate with us. Also running around trying to get things set up I dropped a chair on my foot. Thankfully they are crappy chairs so they did not do much damage but I did bruise my foot. The tables were uneven and very old, some of the chairs were missing the pieces at the end so people had to sit crooked and the tent was very dirty. It was a very horrible experience. 110% would never reccomend. They will be extremely lucky if the bride and groom do not sue them for the price they paid plus all the labor and inconveniences.

Shame on me, I should have read the recent reviews carefully before I rented from them.

In the agreement the tent was to be set up Tues-Thurs (my wedding was on Sat) However, Friday afternoon came and we still did not have the porta-potties, two tables were broken, they brought the wrong chairs which were old and rusty instead of the nice white padded chairs I ordered. Months ago when I went into the office and booked through Able Tent I spoke to Daryl, the manager, and we both looked at picture on their website which shows their clear top tent with hundreds of strings of lights. I told Daryl that is what I wanted and he said they could do that which added a charge of $395.00 for the light installation. I thought this was a bit pricey but figured it was a lot of work for them to do. Monday before the wedding I spoke to Daryl over the phone about the lights and he said "we don't do that. That is something a client did themselves" Daryl said he could add some down lighting in any color I wanted so I took a deep breath and relaxed...for a moment. Closer to the wedding Daryl was not available and I spoke back and forth to Jen who seemed like she wanted to help but came off as I was bothering her and could not explain to me why I was being charged for a light installation that was never going to happen. The tent heater we rented did not work either. We are still waiting to be refunded a total of $542.00 DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!!
