Dream Wedding Day Come True

Thank you Tara & your amazing team for making our dream wedding day come true. The food was phenomenal, the service was above and beyond and they were so easy to plan with. Tara is an expert and I couldn't have been in more capable or caring hands. Everything I absolutely need to have a wedding was included in their packages and they were able to accommodate all my want and wishes so easily.

The wedding of our dreams!

We got married October 2025 and had the most amazing wedding!!! My husband and I wanted to find a venue that included almost everything to avoid all the extra research, meetings, and headaches. This banquet met all the items on our list AND MORE! There was a change in coordinator close to our wedding date but it was not an issue at all. Chase contacted us promptly and helped answer any questions we had. We used the North Ballroom and guests enjoyed having the outside patio available, especially because the weather was wonderful. Our ballroom also had a private suite where my husband and I had dinner privately and chatted about the night so far. Everyone was so sweet and attentive. The food was 10/10!!! Everyone raved about how yummy all foods were (antipasto table, dinner, pizza, and chocolate fountain). Thank you Mr. Ubaldo and crew! This banquet also partners with a bakery, floral shop, and hotels which made everything so convenient for us. We loved every moment of our wedding planning and wedding day with Abbington. Thank you for helping us make our day so special!!!

Perfect Venue

We worked with Monica for our Wedding. She was so knowledgeable and always available to answer my questions over the course of the planning process. She did a great job guiding me when I was unsure about certain details. I loved the various packages they offer, they really help you plan the perfect event. The space itself was exactly the style we were looking for the crisp, white, clean decor makes everything look very bridal. The food and drinks were delicious, and almost everything was able to be made gluten free due to brides dietary restriction.

The Perfect Day

My husband and I could not be happier with how our wedding went at the Abbington. We had cocktail hour and the reception there. We worked with Kathy Koutsogiannis and she went above and beyond- we love her!! She accommodated our every ask and was so great to work with. Everything from the initial email to the last song of the night- the staff did an amazing job. The food was excellent and we are still hearing feedback from our friends and family about how awesome the wedding was! Thank you Kathy and the rest of the Abbington banquet

Dream Venue

The Abbington was our dream venue!! Not only does it have a STUNNING appearance with big beautiful chandeliers and a huge ballroom dance floor, but the staff was SO great to work with! Tara was absolutely amazing and helped make the planning process stress free with her calm, sweet personality! She was always quick to respond to my multi-question emails, she was so polite to my crazy family and made sure our day ran exactly as planned and it truly did! Our guests are still raving about how beautiful it was to this day, saying they felt like they were at a fairytale wedding! I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone in the search process! This was the first place I was interested in because of its beautiful appearance, but the staff helped this venue go above and beyond my expectations! Thank you Abbington for helping us have the best day EVER!

Incredible Banquet, Wonderful Wedding Party

From the event coordinators to the service staff, everyone was so friendly and professional at the Abbington. We were able to have a stress-free time with how smoothly everything was run. Planning a wedding from abroad is normally so difficult, but because of our awesome coordinator Kathy, we were able to get everything we dreamed of, exactly the way we wanted it to be.

It's been two months since our wedding, and our guests still talk about how genuinely delicious the food was (even down to the coffee!), how attentive the staff was, how nice and big the dancefloor was, and simply how beautiful and elegant the event looked. My husband and I couldn't be happier with our decision to have our wedding here. I really can't recommend this place enough! If you're looking to book a wedding or any other party, this is the best place to do it!

Everything was perfect!

I would like to highly recommend the Abbington Distinctive Banquets. We held both our ceremony and reception at this venue and was very pleased! We selected this venue based on its elegance (I absolutely loved the north ball room which features oversized windows allowing beautiful natural lighting, oversized chandeliers, and neutral color tones blending that blended well with our color palette. We also loved the fact that they have an option to host the ceremony in a separate room from the reception which was an absolute must for me, I am very particular and a little hard to deal with at times due to my over attention to detail and wanting every single detail preplanned and perfectly executed. Tara my venue coordinator was very accommodating to my "type A" personality :) She was very patient with me no matter how many times I contacted her, or regardless of how many times I stopped by the venue to run through things or do mock set ups, and was always just a email/ phone call away throughout the entire planning process. Leading up to the wedding one thing that I had not thought about prior to booking this venue is that we wanted a traditional soul food cuisine and the venue does not offer outside catering. Tara went above and beyond to meet my needs by helping us put together a custom menu using items from their various banquet menus. She also allowed us to request extra seasonings and provide details on how to turn their traditional menu Mac and cheese to "southern style baked Mac and cheese to give the food the southern flare we desired. The chef did an amazing job of executing it and the food was delicious and an absolute hit! My family (including the great aunties and grandparents) whom are tuff food critics were very pleased! We had absolutely NO complaints with anything related to the venue on our big day and would like to thank the staff at the Abbington Distinctive Banquets for being top tier! Everything was perfect!!!

Classy and reliable

Tara, Mike, Kathy and the whole team at Abbington helped make our day picture perfect. From their dependability, transparent nature and helpfulness it made planning a wedding enjoyable and easy! Tara really helped me bring my dreams to life and spent time helping me with every little detail down to the perfect napkin fold for my guests. I would have more events at the Abbington for their beautiful space and helpful staff alone, but the food was also amazing. Coming from a foodie background, this was VITAL for our wedding. My guests are still raving about the food at our wedding. If you're looking for a classy, traditional and delicious venue then Abbington is your place!! Not to mention their preferred vendors are also amazing.

Amazing!! Book now!

The Abbington made our wedding! We fell in love the moment we walked in! They know how to do weddings. The food was great! The venue is so beautiful. We got so many compliments. Tara our wedding coordinator is AMAZING! (Important to ask for her!!) We also loved our Captain of the night Omar. They handled so much! We can never thank enough. I was an anxious bride in general but trust Tara when she says we got this! Best day ever! :)

Beautiful venue for a wedding

I can't thank everyone at Abbington enough for creating our dream wedding! With the pandemic we were worried about the possible changes to everything but luckily we were able to have the wedding we wanted with the help of Abbington. We loved the great communication and the food was delicious and definitely a hit with our guests! Thank you to Abbington and you truly have an asset in Tara. Highly Recommend!

We had the pleasure of working with Tara and she was phenomenal! She was very accommodating and flexible with planning during a pandemic. We loved having the North Ballroom with the patio for cocktail hour and mingling throughout the wedding. It also made for beautiful pics at night with the lighting. Guests continue to rave about how amazing the food was, especially the filet! We would highly recommend having a wedding at Abbington Banquets!

Exceeded Expectations!

The Abbington was the perfect place to have our wedding! Tara was absolutely fantastic, as was her whole team. They helped make the day perfect, from timing of the day, to the delicious meal, to the details in the place settings. Our families also had very important traditions we wanted to uphold, and Tara/team ensured that everything happened! Everyone was responsive, patient, and helped make things very smooth and safe, even in the setting of COVID. Our day was beyond a dream, and The Abbington is to thank for that!

The best venue in the suburbs

If you’re having a wedding in the Chicago land area the Abbington is a must. Best bang for your buck. They pay attention and listen to every detail to ensure that your day goes perfectly as planned. Bridal suite, cake and floral centerpieces were included with our package which was super convenient. They have additional entry ways to ensure that youre not seen before walking down the isle and offer various selections of food. We opted for a buffet and selected things like pizza, burgers, tenders, sweet & sour chicken, fried rice, and a sundae bar. Came out to $55 a person

The Best Choice

This was the last place on our list. When we walked into The Abbington we were really impressed. They had the look that I wanted for my dream wedding. The beautiful chandeliers and tall windows were gorgeous. The staff was very nice and professional. And the food. Omgoodness! The food was the best food you will find. I had not one complaint about the food or service. Every person on that staff was so kind. Don't hesitate on booking The Abbington. It's was the only place that checked all the boxes for me.

Gorgeous wedding venue

The Abbington did a fantastic job hosting our wedding reception! I have gotten so many compliments from guests about how great the food was and overall how nice the venue looked. They were so helpful with planning and were super accommodating. Kathy made the planning process very easy! Can't say enough good things about this venue and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a banquet hall!

Beautiful Venue - 5 Star Service

The Abbington really delivers a white glove service to all their wedding guests, especially the bride and groom. Kathy helped us organize and deliver a beautiful wedding reception. She made all sorts of great suggestions to ensure that our special day was flawless. The food was delicious--great portion sizes. Our bridal party missed the cocktail hour while we were taking photos, but the Abbington staff hand delivered some of our appetizers to the head table so we did not miss out! Kathy set our room to our exact vision from the biggest requests to the smallest details. She was always available to consult and bounce questions. She brought a motherlike approach throughout the process, taking extra great care of us during our time as a "Covid Wedding"

Outstanding

My husband and I had our Pakistani wedding here in August 2020. We wish there were more stars to click on, they TOTALLY DESERVE WAY MORE! Abbington was not a only a beautiful, intimate and well located venue, THEY HAD THE BEST SERVICE EVER. Especially during the pandemic, they did everything to keep it safe and yet enjoyable for all guests.

We personally want to thank Aly and the general manager Tara. Aly was super welcoming and helpful throughout your entire process and was there at any minute to help you on your special day. They went above and beyond working with us and providing the best service we could ever ask for. We loved our experience so much, that we just went back 5 months later to book another event for our baby shower. :)

PLEASE DON'T HESITATE, WALK INTO THE ABBINGTON DISTINCTIVE BANQUETS, AND BOOK YOUR EVENT WITH THEM. You will totally not regret it.

Pick the Abbington!!

The Abbington was utterly superb! 100% recommended! My husband & I had our wedding reception there on August 22, 2020 & the baLLroom was gorgeous, food was great, I believe the owner is the head chef! Everything ran soo smooth & it was such a joy working with the manager Kathy, she was LiteraLLy awesome. We feLL in Love with her right when we met her - she makes aLL your wedding reception dreams come true. Super easy to contact & is always by your side. We couldn't have asked or a better manager & venue. We thought planning a covid wedding was stressfuL at first untiL we started workin with Kathy, at Abbington - they were so accommodating & we are forever gratefuL! We were supposed to have a 1000 person wedding but due to covid, had to cut down a Lot & it couldn't have gone more smooth. Kathy made our wedding plans stress freee. The chivari chairs were beuatifuL, their round tables, head tables and family tables were nice & big, spacious, their built in dance floor was amazing, 4 built in bars as weLL! We Love you Kathy, & Abbington! Can't wait to have more events held here. our favorite vendor!!

Covid Wedding

My husband and I had our wedding here this past Labor Day weekend. Let me just say Aly our coordinator was amazing to work with! She made the process so smooth . The servers were great too! If I could give more stars I would. The room, the food, and the attention to detail that the Abbington provided made our wedding day perfect even during this pandemic. If you are considering them for an event id say absolutely go here. They have amazing customer service and the ballrooms are gorgeous. I look forward to having more future events here. Amazing Venue!

Our wedding at the Abbington was amazing! Wedding planning can be an incredibly stressful experience, but everyone at the Abbington was friendly and enthusiastic about helping us have the wedding of our dreams. We worked with Aly throughout the planning process, and she was prompt with communications and so easy to work with. Aly and Dian took care of the tiny (but important) details on our wedding day, allowing us to focus on celebrating with our friends and family. My favorite venue!

I recently had my wedding at Abbington and it was amazing! This was my family's third time booking at Abbington and each time was better than the last. My sister had her wedding here 5 years ago and I was planning on ONLY having my bridal shower here. After complications with our original wedding venue (2 weeks before our wedding!!) I quickly reached out to Aly to see if they still had availability and if she could help me with this important event, again only TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE WEDDING, and during a pandemic, might I add! Aly was so quick to respond and help create that amazing night. Although the event was in the middle of a pandemic, they made sure the safety of their staff and our guests were number 1, which made me feel so much better. They were so accommodating and amazing overall!

Wedding postponed to 8/8/20 and worth it!

I am so happy I booked with Abbington! Tara really made everything go smoothly for us which was difficult due to Covid-19. We had to postpone our wedding and they were extremely flexible with us, which I heard was not happening with other wedding venues. Not once did I worry I wouldn’t get the wedding I dreamed of. Tara responded to every email, call, and voicemail so quickly. She answered every single question I had. On the day of my event, Tara and the staff were so helpful and really did a wonderful job overall. We are so happy with how our night turned out. I brought face masks and they had little “stash your mask” paper bags to put them in lol brilliant! The food? Delicious. The ballroom? Gorgeous. The staff? Perfect. I have no complaints at all. I highly recommend!

Perfection!!

Abbington Banquets was nothing short of amazing! We started the process of selecting a venue for our July 2020 wedding in September of 2019. We knew at our first appointment that this was the venue for us. Aly Rennels, our event manager was sweet, professional and timely from beginning to end. The uncertainty of being able to have a wedding and reception during the COVID pandemic was stressful but Abbington did not disappoint! While we were on lockdown, Aly stayed in communication with us to provide updates. We of course had to cut our guest list significantly due to safety orders and appreciated Abbington for keeping the health and safety of us and our guests in mind. On the day of the reception, everything was absolutely beautiful from the decor to the staff! The staff was safe and wearing their masks, the banquet captain for that day ensured the order of the reception flowed according to our timeline and they all did it with a smile (even behind the mask). All of our guests raved about how flavorful and delicious the food was. We couldn’t of asked for a better venue to host us during these times and I highly recommend Abbington Banquets to any and all looking to host an event in the Chicagoland/West Suburban area!

Unforgettable Day!

We hosted both our ceremony and reception here at the Abbington, and we truly could not have imagined a more perfect night. We were catered to all night by our room manager, and got SO many compliments on the food, the venue, and the service! I kept in touch with Tara leading up to the wedding and she was always so helpful and willing to answer questions. Simply amazing!

The best part of our wedding was by far The Abbington. From the day we walked in for our first tour to the night we walked out at the end of our reception was nothing but amazing. Aly our wedding coordinator is simply phenomenal, you can tell she truly loves her job and that makes your experience even better. I really thought of Aly as a friend by the end of the whole process. A month has now passed since our wedding day and people are still raving about the food and impeccable service. My wedding day was truly a dream come true and I have the Abbington to thank for that and am forever grateful.

Beautiful, Elegant and Professional!

Beyond Happy

My husband and I went through great pains trying to find the perfect venue for our wedding. I wanted a beautiful venue at an affordable price, and he wanted fantastic food. When we found the Abbington, we were excited that we both got what we wanted without having to compromise. The staff was fantastic and everything was just right, down to the last details. Tupy/Smith Wedding

My husband and I had our wedding at the Abbington and we couldn’t have been happier. Everything turned out absolutely gorgeous. My guests were amazed and how beautiful everything was. The food was absolutely delicious and we got a lot of compliments how good it was. The bartenders and everyone who worked on our special day were friendly and always there when my guests and wedding party needed anything. I wish I could go back to that night and do it all over again it was over in a blink of a eye. Just the way it should be for your wedding day!!

The meal was excellent!!! Every steak was perfection. I received so many compliments!!
The venue and staff ate wonderful. Make you feel very special, makes guests feel welcome.
The only vender they recommend that I didn't use was for the cake. My daughter used it for her wedding and I felt it was mediocre at best. So I used Calumet Bakery in Lansing Il and even the staff said it was the best they ever had!!

Mother of the Bride

My daughter had her wedding and reception here. Tara went above and beyond to help us from the planning stages to the day of the event. The staff was amazing and they even made a special meal for my nephew who has allergies. I also want to point out how beautiful the rooms looked and everyone loved the food. Beautiful venue, delicious food, amazing staff!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Abbington and it was amazing! Tara did an amazing job helping us prep all the details, and answering all our questions. Absolutely perfect!

This venue was absolutely perfect for our wedding reception! The venue is beautiful, the staff was amazing, and the food was delicious! We truly thought our night was absolutely perfect and we wouldn't have changed a thing. We highly recommend the Abbington!

My husband and I had our wedding this past January and we had worked with Tara the entire 8 months of us planning and everything came out AMAZING!! Our ceremony and reception and we couldn’t be more happier with how everything turned out. From the flowers, to the cake, to how Tara became our same day coordinator and had gotten our ceremony organized, even with how they setup our decorations made everything look so elegant and picture perfect for us. Then her staff...PERFECTION! The staff catered to us and all of our guest that we were blown away by their service and the close attention that they gave us. There was also extra food from some guest not showing, out of the corner of our eye we saw the staff bring out containers for food to be taken home. Once we talked to a few of our guest they all stated that they were able to take the extra food to go. That completely blew our minds away, because we’ve been to other’s weddings at other locations and no one else had offered to box the extra food for guest to take home. Tara and her wonderful and amazing staff blew our wedding out of the park that we had gotten so so many compliments from our guest for months. Then let me not forget, the food...one word, DELICIOUS! You will not be disappointed with portions either. Your guest will go home happy with full stomachs. Tara and her staff gave us the most amazing experience that we couldn’t imagine we would have. We recommend anyone that’s having a wedding, or even a large event, to definitely book Abbington Distinctive Banquets. You’ll absolutely love everything about it.

We had our reception of 200 people here and It was absolutely perfect. All the staff is professional, flexible, and friendly. We had the opportunity to work with Tara and she is amazing! Our wedding reception was amazing. We worked very closey with Alyssa. She was AWESOME and paid action to detail. The Abbington's staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect reception. The food was delicious (actually better than the tasting), our host was on point with all the particulars, as well as the servers. The server for the head table made sure we had everything needed to keep the party going. I can't say thank you enough. We only had 1 problem, it went by too fast. We needed a couple more hours to dance. lol Thanks again.

Abbington Banquets was wonderful! We worked more closely with Tara and Michelle and they as well as anyone else we interfaced with were simply wonderful. They were so responsive and incredibly helpful.

Our wedding was amazing. We received so many compliments on the food, the space, the location and the whole experience.

We had our wedding reception here in September and it was amazing! Everything went just as I had hoped and planned. We booked the Abbington in February for our date and from the very beginning Tara was responsive to all emails and willing to work with our schedules to show us around. They even showed us around twice so that we were positive before we put any money down. The hall is beautiful, no extras were necessary to make it look any better. They did not seem to increase their prices just because it was a wedding like other banquet halls seem to. They were upfornt about everything, including incentives that they had for having our wedding on a Friday. They have many great companies that they work with to give you a starting point for everying such as hotels, photographers, bands, and dj's. Everyone from the Abbington that we spoke with were professional and caring. I never felt as though I had to worry about my reception! The food was fantastic and my guests are still talking about everything, they have options that everyone will love. On the night of my reception they were even more helpful than I could have hoped. They made sure that I had eaten, that I was able to slip away to use the restroom, and that I had a drink if i wanted one! I highly reccomend the Abbington to anyone who wants a stress free reception!

We immediately fell in love with Abbington for its elegance and class and knew it is perfect for our July 2017 wedding!!!
Throughout the entire planning process Tara and Michelle were dedicated, attentive and prompt to answer any and all questions I had. Attention to detail is very important to me and I was not disappointed whatsoever. I appreciate the entire planning staff respecting all my decor preferences and wishes!
Compliments to the Chef and the entire kitchen staff for delicious food, cooked to perfection! The entire menu was delicious and we received so many compliments on the Chicken Piccata and filet mignon!!
Our captain for the night, Diane, is such a pleasant and friendly lady! Diane assisted us throughout the entire evening, looked after us and made sure we are taken care of!
Both our bartender and our Martini bartender were extremely pleasant and very friendly!! Their service was fantastic and prompt. I apologize for not remembering their names.
Our reception took place in the South Ballroom and it is such a beautiful space and room!!
Thank you Tara and Michelle for such a seamless planning process! You are both very passionate about your work and it shows!
We could not be happier with Abbington and its class and elegance.

There is no match for this venue. It is by far the best place to host a party. The food was amazing, the people are kind and accommodating, not to mention the venue is gorgeous!

I had driven past Abbington many times but was cautious because banquet halls are always so dark and cheesy. We fell in love as soon as we walked in the door. It was very glamorous without being over the top. The north ballroom was the perfect location for our day event, with the windows pouring in with natural light and the new patio outside!

Our coordinator Alyssa was amazing. She responded quickly to our emails, she was able to incorporate some special touches for our brunch reception (being able to access online menus during the research process was especially helpful), and she was just super fun to work with! The value of our reception package was unbelievable, and they also included assistance with some decor set-up, which meant I didn't need a day-of coordinator.

The day of our event was a whirlwind, but it still makes me teary to think about how our wedding was everything we were hoping it would be. Even now our guests rave about the food and the staff. Our captain, Javier, was an angel. I dropped some tortellini right on the front of my dress (I know, I obviously don't make good wedding day choices.), and he was right by my side within seconds with a cloth and some club soda. Crisis averted. Each of my guests had a story about their servers who were excellent and tried to learn their names and provide the best experience possible.

I will recommend Abbington to anyone who will listen. Don't let the Walmart nearby fool you; this place is DuPage County's best kept secret.

The staff, service, food, and atmosphere, are all top notch at the Abbington. I had my wedding on Saturday, February 18, 2017 and I couldn't wait to write this review, because everything was above and beyond exceptional. From the moment I toured the Abbington I felt my experience there was excellent. Tara, helped me plan and organize an unforgettable and fantastic wedding. Tara was always available to answer my many emails and questions throughout the planning process and was an absolute delight to work with. Our food tasting was phenomenal and our wedding day meal was outstanding. All our guests raved about the food and extremely attentive wait staff. The North Ballroom was decorated beautifully and the feel for the night of my wedding so romantic and elegant. My husband and I are beyond grateful and would highly recommend the Abbington to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

I have nothing but positive and great things to say about this venue. Usually people have one little thing they would tweak but I really don't have anything. Before our guests came into the room my husband and I were able to go in and if we wanted to make any changes or anything it was done right away. I would recommend anyone to this venue for your reception. Tara did an amazing job and was there the whole night in case we had any further questions for concerns.

Tara and her staff were incredible to work with! We had our wedding reception at The Abbington on June 4, 2016 and it was absolutely perfect. We booked this venue a year and a half ahead of time and throughout the entire planning process, Tara was always extremely responsive and helpful. Our wedding reception was equally fantastic and the food was incredible. People are still talking about how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food was! The Abbington was beyond amazing. I was so nervous because i thought we had to figure everything out on our wedding day and there were two people with us each step of the way. They brought me to so much ease and were amazing. The food was GREAT. Every single 260 guest i had enjoyed the food and the service! Even before the wedding Tara new the answer to every question and brought me at ease each step of the way. I highly recommend this hall !

You cannot go wrong with the Abbington. I worked with Tara for a year and a half. She was very helpful and responded quickly to email and questions I had throughout the whole process. The venue is beautiful and well kept and the food is amazing-definitey not just "wedding food!" When I saw my room the day of, every detail I requested was executed perfectly-it was truly amazing. Several of our guests commented on how great the reception was; from the food to decor and service. Some even told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to! I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a great venue with a receptive and professional staff. A+ !!!

Tara and the staff was very patient with all of my questions but helped be fully and respectfully.
The waitstaff during the reception did all they could to be accommodating. From what I have heard from my guests, the waitstaff was helpful with them as well. The food was phenomenal!!
The hall is beautiful for any style of wedding. I recommend it to all.

We had a great experience with Kathy at Abbington Banquets! From our first meeting, Kathy was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in us and our wedding. You can tell she really likes what she does. I left feeling that she would do everything in her power to make everything perfect on our wedding day. We were not disappointed! The whole process went smoothly. Kathy was always quick to respond to emails or phone calls and followed up with us leading up to the wedding. Our wedding day was wonderful! The room was set up so beautifully and exactly how we had discussed. There was no event the day before our wedding, so my mom, sister, and I were able to go in and set up our centerpieces. The room looked stunning. I loved the staircase for us to use during introductions, and it worked out perfect that day. I also loved having the bridal room upstairs to be able to have my own bathroom that was big enough for a wedding dress :) The food was fabulous! It was so delicious! I received SO many compliments on my wedding food. Everyone loved it. We had so much fun at our wedding, and the room was beautiful. Thank you, Kathy!!

Kathy & Paulette are the PERFECT team ??. My wedding was March 19, 2016 and i have to say i looked at 15 halls and as soon as i walked in And was greeted by Kathy at the door i knew that was the place for me seeming that me and most of our guest live 50 plus miles away. Kathy was amazing!!! She was extremely helpful during the entire process. She was organized and always one step ahead of everything. Anytime I reached out to ask a question she always responded within hours( many times within minutes). Our day wouldn't have been has wonderful as it was without her and our captain Paulette! Will definitely be going back for future events! From the neutral colors, to the amazing elegant decore, and lastly the food was delicious, the Abbington was the perfect place to have our wedding!!

We attended a wedding in January of 2015 at the Abbington as guests, and had a lovely time - delicious food, prompt service, and great atmosphere. When he proposed in March, I immediately knew who I had to call. Luckily, we were able to reserve our date due to a cancellation and start our wonderful journey with Alyssa. Alyssa was prompt and professional, answered my windfall of questions during our initial visit, and responded consistently to all my emails. Once October rolled around, we loved our room setting. Shamrock Florist put together vibrant table arrangements. The Baking Institute created a lovely tiered hexagonal cake for us, and the Abbington baked tasty monogrammed cookie favors [favors should always be edible!]. In all the excitement, I completely forgot what our ending time was. Near the end of dinner, our banquet captain Paulette gently reminded me that we wrapped up at 11:00PM. We were providing our own music on rented speakers, so her gentle reminder allowed us enough time to trim our reception dancing tunes to fit the time allotted. The entire team created a delicious, smooth, streamlined experience full of memories for us! I'm still receiving rave reviews three months later - entrust your wedding to Alyssa and the Abbington!!

Everything was perfect! The service was great! The wait staff made sure we always had a drink and appetizers during the cocktail hour while we were in the receiving line and Tara was very quick to answer every email and question we had during the planning process. I'm SO happy we found this venue. The reception hall was set up beautifully and they kept track of all of our various items we dropped off ahead of time to have on display at the wedding. We didn't have to worry about anything!

Working with The Abbington was a delight from start to finish. After shopping around for a venue, I found The Abbington to be an amazing value. Their wedding packages are amazing! The Abbington is one of the most beautiful banquet halls I've seen. It is GORGEOUS! Our wedding was the day after Thanksgiving and The Abbington was decorated for Christmas which added such a beautiful touch. The food that was served at the wedding was like eating at a 5 star restaurant. The chef not only cooked outstanding meals but was very accommodating to those of our guests who had special dietary restrictions. Tara Kubicki, the Director of Sales and Catering was great to work with. She knows her stuff! She was amazingly helpful and her expertise was invaluable. On the actual wedding day she was there from start to finish to make sure that everything went perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend The Abbington. You won't be disappointed.

We are so happy that we had our reception at the Abbington! After visiting several different venues, we met Tara and signed that week. She was the best wedding vendor to work with... responsive, knowledgeable and just super helpful. And she always had a great attitude. On the day of, we were blown away at how beautiful everything looked. And our guests raved about the food. Honestly, I've never had wedding food that tasted so yummy!

I'm not one of those brides that loves everything. I did not write five star reviews for all of my vendors because they simply didn't earn them. The Abbington earned all 5 stars and then some! We loved everything about our reception at The Abbington! Tara was amazing to work with throughout the process and made sure our day was special. The Abbington's packages are a great value as well. The day of service was outstanding. We are still receiving compliments about the service and food three months later. The Abbington made our day one to remember! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

You would be crazy not to book here!! The place is beautiful the staff genuinely cares about you and isn't after money. You most definitely get more than you pay for and the staff is so wonderful and helpful.

We had our wedding at the Abbington this past Saturday. All the guest are still talking about how beautiful the venue is and how good the food was. We worked with both Kathy and Tara due to Kathy being on vacation the week of our wedding and they both were great. Omar the waiter captain was very attentive through the entire ceremony and reception. He took care of us like we were part of his family. Loved this place.

We cannot thank Abbington Distinctive Banquets enough. They were so easy to work with, Tara helped us organize everything and she was very organized and responded promptly to e-mails and phone calls. She stayed with us the entire night to make sure everything went smoothly, and it did!! The servers were very attentive and so nice, they even helped us pack everything up at the end of the night. The food was amazing, all of our guests enjoyed their meals, the fillets were cooked perfectly. The Abbington also has several partners and items that are included with the hall, this helped our budget a lot.

From the moment we stepped into the Abbington to just look at the venue we fell in love. We worked with Alyssa and she was awesome! She was very quick to answer questions for us and helped us through the whole process! The Abbington is reasonably priced and I would recommend this venue to everyone! The day of the wedding we had Dian helping us. She was awesome along with the bartenders. Dian made it very comfortable for us and helped us with whatever we needed. The guests loved that the staff went around to all the tables to see how everything was and did not just help out the head table and the parents table. The food was out of this world. Everyone kept raving about the food. Some of our guests who came that are never pleased with food could not stop talking about it. I loved everything about this place and could not say one bad thing about it. I would recommend everyone at least going and looking at the venue. We could not have picked a better venue for the price, location, and staff!

My husband and I absolutely loved working with everyone at Abbington! We mainly worked with Tara, but everyone else we encountered were super nice and helpful. From the moment we walked through the doors we knew the Abbington was our reception venue. It's a stunningly beautiful venue, truly a gem. For the quality of service and the beauty of the venue you're really getting the most for your money. The food is not your standard banquet food, it is beautiful in presentation and tastes even better! We worked with Kathy and she was always pleasant, professional, and accommodating. Kathy and her staff helped to make our wedding a dream come true by taking our vision and turning it into a reality. The service was outstanding. Our guests are still talking about The delicious food and exceptional service. It rained on our wedding day so the Abbington served as a great plan B for a photo setting. We worked with Kathy from the very beginning of our planning process and we knew we were in good hands! She was extremely responsive and flexible when I asked tons of questions and changed our head count at the last minute. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was flawless. The Abbington completely exceeded our expectations on every level! Delicious, quality food, beautiful ballroom set up, and a great value for everything we got on our wedding day! Our event coordinator Alyssa was absolutely wonderful!! I've never worked with a vendor who responded to all my emails as lightening fast as she did. I had the answer to EVERY question within a couple of hours of me emailing her (and we had lots of questions!) Alyssa was knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and so attentive. Our day was truly magical all thanks to the Abbington. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you are looking for a virtually stress-free experience. Not ONE single issue was encountered during the entire year we worked with Alyssa in planning our special day. She truly is the person you want to work with!

I would most definitely recommend Abbington Banquets to any of my friends getting married! I was so stress free at the reception because everything was taken care of flawlessly! I had two ladies coordinating my wedding and they ensured all the vendors had the timeline and everything went according to plan! :) aside from that the decor was STUNNING- I explained to them how I wanted everything set up and they nailed it and made it look better than I even imagined it! Lastly- the food was delicious and you get a ton of it for the price! Thank you Abbington!!! :)

Kathy and the entire Abbington staff were a joy to work with. Both during the process of planning, as well as the night of the wedding, the Abbington staff was helpful and attentive. From start to finish the Abbington staff has been incredible. The banquet manager, Kathy, was absolutely wonderful. She went out of her way to make sure that our special day was very special. She never changed throughout the entire process. I made the mistake of hiring an outside vendor for linen, backdrops, and uplights. On the day of the wedding, I received several calls from Kathy and our Captain for the day, Paulette, informing me that the vendor wasn't there to set up. The vendor had the wrong date and wasn't prepared at 2 pm for a 4 pm wedding. To ease my frustration and anxiety, the Abbington staff took their information and coordinated with them. The Abbington was going to use their own linens.

Some way, some how the vendor arrived and the Abbington staff worked with them to get everything set up and they were set-up by 4 pm. Everything was absolutely beautiful. The food was incredible, the service was superior, and the facility itself is very elegant. Our guests have told us at least a hundred times that our wedding was the best wedding that they've ever been to and I know that it is because of the wonderful staff at the Abbington.

If you are looking for the perfect venue for your special day, look no further because you will not find another place that is as wonderful as the Abbington. I promise you won't be disappointed.

What a wonderful venue! Could not have asked for a better place to have our wedding. Tara and the rest of the staff were incredibly positive, personable, and professional. The food and service are outstanding here! Please consider this place for your wedding! My husband and I are still heating compliments about it, over a month after our wedding :)

Dealing with Mike Fabbri was an extremely positive experience both for myself and my wife. We definitely recommend The Abbington to any couple looking for an amazing wedding venue.

I can't say anything but positive things about Abbington and it's staff. From last August we were working with Tara and she was nothing short of amazing. She is very quick to answer emails, offer suggestions on decor and flow of the reception, and easy to work with. On the day of the wedding, she was there the entire time and coordinating with all my other vendors making sure everything was going as smoothly as possible. Paulette, our room captain, was very sweet. She made sure everything was packed up at the end of the night for us. She even sent us with our entree due to the fact that my husband and I didn't really have a chance to eat.

We chose to do our dances in between each course (father daughter dance during starter, mother son dance during soup, etc) and my only issue is that our waiter cleared our plates too quickly. Since we were occupied during each course, we didn't really have a chance to enjoy our food. I realize that there was a timeline that needed to be followed and if any future brides are planning on doing their dances this way, just make sure to give yourselves enough time to eat.

Thank you Tara and the Abbington staff for making our wedding day such a memorable experience!

Tara and her service team was amazing. They help make your wedding everything that you ever wanted. The hall was great, the food was amazing and the service was excellent. All the guest commented to us how attentive they were to everyone at the hall. if you want a worry free reception leave it to Tara and her team to make is a experience like no other.

We worked with Tara throughout the process. She was always so attentive, patient and wonderful. She gave me great advice on what she thought would look good and took such good care of everything. I could not have done this without her. I will never forget walking into the hall and being completely awestruck. It looked a hundred times better than I had ever imagined. I heard multiple compliments of how amazing the food was and how polite the waitstaff was. I could honestly go on for hours how perfectly Abbington did. From the bartenders to the late night snacks, there wasn't a thing that I would have changed. We are so grateful for them from the bottom of our hearts. It was such a perfect day.

We had our wedding reception at the Abbington this past June, and they exceeded our expectations. First off, the venue is beautiful inside. The decor in the banquet rooms is elegant and tasteful. It was easy to pick our table covers/chair covers/flowers without worrying that it would clash with the rest of the room. Second, the food was delicious. Everything from the appetizers (especially the shrimp and mozzarella/tomato skewers) to the enormous dessert table were tasty. None of our guests left hungry, and we got many compliments on how good the food was.

The staff at the Abbington were phenomenal from the initial planning to the final details. Mike was our main contact person, and he was always available to answer any questions/concerns we had, no matter how trivial. He was flexible with his schedule to meet our needs, and he was even there that night, popping in to make sure everything was just as we wanted it. Tara was also great to work with; she helped us pick out the room decorations, and offered suggestions to achieve the vision I had for the room. The night of the wedding, the staff was amazing. Paulette, our captain, was so organized and made sure the whole night went smoothly. She is such a sweetheart, and her phrase for the night was "Don't worry about a thing, I'll take care of everything"...and we didn't, and she did!

The night was magical, and our guests had an amazing time. We could not have been happier with our reception.

Kathy at the Abbington is really great she was about to help us get what we needed for the Reception and she was always about to help. The Abbington food was really great especially Tequila lime chicken and Filet! The deserts were very good and hit the sweet spot! If you're looking for a banquet hall look at the Abbington!

I was receiving compliments non stop the night of my wedding about it being the most beautiful wedding, so classy, fun, and how excellent the food was. My husband and I were very pleased but I think the guests opinions are just important and I am sure if I had them all write reviews they would gove 5 out of 5. I am so happy we chose the Abbington, kathy went above ad beyond to make sure our needs were meant and she was very flexible with everything. Our wedding day was perfect thanks to Kathy, Omar, and all the staff at the Abbington. Im so sad it's over!

I would hands down without a doubt recommend the Abbington to ANY couple planning a wedding. The venue itself is breathtaking and provides that glamorous and traditional feel for a wedding reception. The food was AMAZING and we received (and still receive) positive feedback on how great and how much food was provided at our wedding. The food, the space, and the look are all fantastic, but it is the staff that makes the Abbington stand out from the rest. Tara (Events Coordinator) was fun, easy, and GREAT to work with. She didn't mind how many times I emailed her with random questions and concerns and she handled everything and helped make our day spectacular. I cannot speak enough about the Abbington. I wish we could relive our wedding day and do it all over again. Please consider having your wedding here...you WILL NOT regret it!

We worked with Tara mostly, She was awesome. Always responded very quickly to emails (If sge was not available she had an away message with an email address to contact a coworker.). She was very helpful throughout the whole planning process.

The night of everything was set up on time, it all looked extactly how I wanted and visioned it would. We did run into some missing Placecards (my fault) and Tara was on top of it. It was fixed very quickly and quietly.

We got compliments on the food all night! It was great ( from what I ate. did not sit very much!) Kathy was our Banquet manager, she was great and always easy to find! Diane was also there to help us and she was very friendly and quite fun to work with too!

Overall the night could not have been better. Everything was awesome and I had a beyond great time! I would highly reccommend this place to any bride or groom.

The Abbington was a perfect venue and just great to work with. Tara was always very quick to respond to questions we had and always made us feel that we were in good hands. The food is amazing, the rooms are very beautiful, and we got a great value as they offered specials for being off peak season. If you aren't tied to a summer or fall wedding date, and are willing to do a Jan-April wedding you can get a lot of value. Even in the summer months this would be a great place though.

As a part of the package we received the cake included, which was from the Baking Institute in Northbrook, and it tasted great. They also offered centerpieces, but we ended up going with another vendor. However, the pictures of their vendor did look nice and one of our guests sent us flowers from that florist, and the bouquet was of high quality.

Also the wait staff was great. The mater dei/captian, Dian, was great and provided the best service. I've been to Abbington for other events as a guest, such as brunches, and the service is always great as well. Would highly recommend the Abbington. My wife and I had a very specific venue vision that was something different and unique from the typical banquet hall (our dream venue was a tent-wedding, which we found was PRICEY). And even though the Abbington definitely didn't fit that vision, there is nothing typical about them. All of the feedback we received from our guests was positive as well- they were very impressed (and I think many of our guests would have been less comfortable in our "dream venue". I would absolutely recommend the Abbington.
