Highly recommend A Stitch In Time! After I expressed anxiety about my tight wedding dress not fitting due to body changes after an injury, they scheduled me right away. Olivia was professional, skilled, and really reassuring throughout the fittings. She listened to my requests and respected my vision. I loved my dress and danced in it all night! -

I'm so happy a friend recommended I go to A Stitch in Time Bridal Services and have Anne do my wedding dress alterations. She was fun to work with, explained things clearly, and did amazing work. She answered all my questions honestly, listened to what I wanted, and made my dress look amazing. I got so many compliments that the dress looked like it was made for me and so much of that is because of Anne! -

Wow wow wow to Anne for restoring my dream wedding dress (that was so out of my price range that I bought the sample) to looking brand new!!! She did a job so perfect, no one knew the condition I bought it in! The designer even reposted a photo of it never knowing I'd bought it with rips and tears.
It fit wonderfully, and I'm very happy with how the train was able to be tucked up into an elegant bustle. Forever grateful! ♥️ -

Olivia was fantastic to work with! My dress fit like a glove and was perfect. She was very organized and set all of my fitting dates up front, which I found very helpful. She was also able to accommodate appointments on the weekend since I could not make it during weekday business hours due to work. In addition to alterations for my dress, she also made me a veil that matched the color of my dress perfectly and was gorgeous! Go with Olivia and you will be in very good hands!!! -

A Stitch In Time was invaluable in tailoring my wedding dress. Anne is a complete professional, she was easy to work with, and I was thrilled with the result. She even suggested adding a bejeweled waistline, and it created a natural waist that highlighted my figure and broke up the dress beautifully. She also created a foolproof bustle, I danced for hours and it held up fantastically! -

My goodness, I cannot say enough good things about A Stitch In Time! It was only a month before my wedding, and although I had already gotten some alternations done previously with another vendor, my dress was still not fitting the way that I would have liked it to - the top was also prone to shifting & falling down a bit, and I really did not want to have a wardrobe malfunction at our wedding lol! I was so sad.
But then I found Olivia - even though it was such late notice she was gracious and sweet enough to make time to see me for a fitting, and totally saved the day. She is so amazing at what she does - a true professional. She also was kind enough to refer me to a shop where I could find just the right strapless bra to wear with my dress - and ladies, we know how hard it can sometimes be to find a strapless bra that fits well and is actually comfortable lol!
My wedding dress turned out so wonderfully with her help, and I could not have been happier with her work or more impressed. The service I received was top notch as well - she was highly communicative, quick with her replies, and so very helpful. It makes such a difference to work with genuinely kind people who are also very good at what they do. I highly, highly recommend A Stitch In Time!

Olivia is just the sweetest human and most amazing seamstress. She knows her stuff inside and out. My dress was quite unwieldy and needed layers of hemming, delicate strapless bodice tailoring, and an added bustling ability. Olivia met with me multiple times for fittings over a few months to make sure everything was perfect! She also makes lovely veils - including exactly the type of simple, delicate one that made sense for me! She has a great eye and you can tell that she truly cares about her clients and loves her work. -

Olivia is simply amazing, there are no other words! I came to her just over a month out from my wedding which is cutting it VERY close, and she was able to make multiple alterations to my Emmy Mae wedding dress, as well as make me a beautiful cathedral length veil for a very reasonable price. I'm so glad I purchased my veil from here and didn't spend hundreds of dollars from a wedding dress store because realistically I maybe wore it for an hour of our entire wedding. It was super windy during our ceremony and after that I was pretty much over the veil. I'm just bummed I don't have many pictures in it. Olivia hemmed my dress, changed out the straps, took out the boning, closed up the slit a few inches, created a bustle for me, and made me a veil, all in this short timeframe and all of it looked amazing! She made my dress my absolute dream dress by making these slight tweaks and changes. I can truly say she made my dress visions come to life! Olivia is professional, friendly, and organized. She always made me feel comfortable during appointments and had great suggestions as well. I also ended up purchasing some hair pins from her that completed my look the day of! I would recommend Olivia to everyone, she is the best in this industry! -

Adriana Sent on 08/18/2018My husband and I were married at The Villa SJC this spring and A Stitch in Time did my alterations. Lovely Bride, where I’d found my gown, referred Olivia and Anne. Olivia was warm, funny and professional. We met three times and she did a wonderful job transforming a beautiful dress into my beautiful dress.
Olivia attached the sleeves, added clasps to the bodice, and took in, shortened and hemmed the skirt. She also added a sturdier bustle. No easy task given the embellishments and delicate lace of an Anna Campbell gown. The look was complete with a gorgeous veil from Olivia’s collection. I felt amazing on my big day and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you, Olivia!

Katie Sent on 04/02/2018My wife and I both bought our dresses from David’s Bridal. We were going to just get everything done there, but they scared us with their time frames for alterations 3 months before the wedding, telling us we had to come in right away or they wouldn’t be done. Our matron of honor came through and recommended A Stitch In Time to us and said not to worry. We went in 2 months before the wedding and Olivia took care of us. Both our dresses and our maid of honor’s dress were all done together, and she even sewed in a little blue bow on the inside of our dresses for our something blue! Despite the active Skirball fire the week of our wedding (early Dec 2017), we were able to have one of our bridesmaids in the area contact Olivia, and pick up the dresses directly from her. The dresses fit perfectly and looked amazing!

During all the stress of planning, I genuinely enjoyed going to see her for my fittings. She even helped me make a special handkerchief for my sister, which was her idea and turned out so beautifully. I'm still getting compliments on my dress, and more importantly, could move around and dance freely all night at my wedding without being uncomfortable or having to change. Thank you so much!!

My Ines Di Santo runway sample was sized for a statuesque model... I am 5'2" with more than sample size curves. Creative thinking and superior skill by Olivia made my dress look made for me. <3 Thank you so much.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Brides - AVOID!!!
Brides, please think twice before trusting Anne with your wedding gown.
I paid $1,400 for alterations and ended up with a dress that was nearly ruined. She took in the sides so aggressively that the waist dug painfully into me, leaving red marks on my body. Even after seeing those marks at my fitting, she offered no real solutions or professional advice—she never even suggested raising the waistline, which my new seamstress immediately recognized as the fix.
She also left huge, sloppy amounts of excess fabric all around the dress, which is obvious in the photos I sent her. The only part of her work she refunded me for was the bustle because she never did it.
After our final fitting, I was so devastated I cried the entire weekend and went dress shopping all over again - three weeks before my wedding day. The worst part? I then had to pay another $1,700 to a different seamstress to undo Anne’s mistakes and properly finish the alterations. I’m incredibly lucky she hadn’t already cut out the fabric she’d taken in; otherwise I would have needed to buy a completely new gown.
When I tried to discuss these issues with her and asked for even a partial refund given the extent of the damage and the extra cost I incurred, she refused to take any accountability. She never once apologized for what she did to me or to my gown, or for the stress, expense, and heartbreak she put me through.
Bottom line: I don’t care how many years of experience someone claims—if the result is a bride in tears and a gown in disaster, it’s unacceptable.
I would never recommend Anne’s services to anyone. I’m sharing my experience so no other bride has to go through the stress, heartbreak, and expense that I did. Save yourself the pain and go anywhere else.

One is showing how the dress fit me the day I bought it compared to her final work, and she tried to gaslight me and tell me that my dress was sent to me incorrectly. I went to "A Stitch In Time" on a recommendation from a friend who previously had a dress altered by Olivia's mother (who previously ran it). It seems that Olivia took over the business now so I decided to use her for my wedding dress alterations.
The dress was brand new and in my usual size. She charged me $800 for a full bridal gown alterations which I paid in full at the end of the first consultation.
I do not know if this is normal or if she had taken on too many clients, but from this point on the process felt very rushed with each fitting taking no more than 15 minutes and I always got the feeling that she was in a hurry to get me out and onto the next customer.
I shared a concern that the dress might be too long and that I was worried about falling in it during the ceremony or my first dance. She insisted it was fine but agreed to take it up another inch at my insistence. She did not mark this change on the dress or take any additional measurements. I did these sessions in the actual heels I wore for the wedding, so nothing changed there to alter my height.
Approximately ten days before my wedding I asked to try the dress on one more time (4th overall including the consultation) because I was concerned that I had gained a couple of pounds. Initially scheduling this appointment was really difficult and I had to push to get her to do it. When I went to try the dress on the alterations from previous visits were not completed yet which I found concerning given we were less than two weeks out but she insisted that I didn't have anything to worry about and that I did not need to come back to try on the dress once the alterations were made.
I took her word for that which was my biggest mistake.
In total she had my dress for over four months between the first session and when it was 'ready' which was five days before the wedding. Though as mentioned above less than two weeks out things like the hem were not done yet.
Fast forward to the wedding day and as I had feared the dress was too long causing me to step on it while walking and dancing. I was visibly shaking because I felt I was going to fall in front of my friends and family which is not what any bride wants to be worrying about on her big day.
Fortunately I didn't fall, but having spent a fair amount of money altering the dress to fit me properly I felt I should reach out and flag the issues I had. I even shared a video of my dance where you could see me clearly stepping on the hem.
This is unfortunately where things took a turn and instead of taking any kind of accountability Olivia started to gaslight me.
First she told me that I didn't put the dress on correctly...
I questioned how that was possible given it was a simple strapless dress and it was zipped up and the clasps were closed so what else needed doing differently?
She then switched to saying it must have been because I lost weight since the adjustments...
Again not true. I went to see her a fourth time because I wanted to check if it fitted well with a few extra pounds I had put on, not lost. I have an app attached to my scale so I showed her my weight had not gone down at all in that time period.
So she then decided to blame the fact that during one of my dances I had removed the decorative sleeves which was really grasping at straws because they are decorative items that drape half-way down my upper arms and would offer no support. Also I wore them during the ceremony and other dances where I also was having the same issue walking down the aisle and dancing.
I told her this and she got angry and told me 'I don't have time for this'. She offered to have her local dry cleaner clean the dress for me but no admission of any fault nor offer to remedy the situation.
That last statement from her, as well as being a very rude way to speak to a customer, really summed up how I felt working with her. It felt like she never 'had time', everything was a rush and an inconvenience.
I am disappointed that she convinced me to trust her and not try the dress on once alterations were completed and of course I am disappointed that the dress I paid to alter for my big day wasn't right.
But I think the worst part of this whole experience and the thing that other potential customers should be aware of was how she took no accountability for the poor experience and instead tried to convince me that it was my fault to make me go away and stop bothering her.
