Perfect words, perfect ceremony!

I would 100% recommend working with Stacey! In addition to making our ceremony the best part of our wedding day, she was organized, flexible, and knowledgeable about the wedding license process. Furthermore, Stacey made the rehearsal a breeze. She was on time, easy going with a large crowd, and was comfortable enough to take charge, and get everyone on the same page. No matter what type of style you're looking for, Stacey works with you to find the perfect words to make it your perfect ceremony.

Helped us create OUR ceremony

Can't say enough good things about Stacey. We went into the experience not really knowing what kind of ceremony we wanted. Stacey met with us over Zoom a couple of times to talk things through, and she helped us create a ceremony that would be meaningful to us. She wrote a beautiful script that seamlessly incorporated the readings and rituals we wanted to include. The ceremony went perfectly, and family and guests told us how much they loved it. We would absolutely recommend working with Stacey!

The perfect officiant for a perfect day

We are so happy we had Stacey as our officiant for our wedding. She made the process so easy and is an absolute delight to work with! During the entire process she gave us guidance when needed, but also let us put as much or as little into the ceremony as needed. When it came to the rehearsal she was a true professional to keep everyone on the same page, despite the wedding party running late. And day of, the ceremony was everything we could have dreamed of and more; and her presence leading the ceremony was a big reason why. Stacey is amazing to work with and she will be a great asset to make your day as special as ours was!

Amazing Experience!

Having Stacey officiate our ceremony was an amazing experience. She was extremely helpful the whole time, very responsive and accommodating to our schedule. She took the time to get to know us well and really make the ceremony personal and special. Beyond having great speaking skills and excellent content for the ceremony, she ensured that the logistics of the day went extremely smooth as well. Making sure everyone was where they needed to be and all of our paperwork was in order. I highly recommend Stacey to officiate your wedding!

Awesome Officiant

Stacey was our officiant for our beautiful barnyard wedding in July 2019 out in Rives Junction. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect and elegant ceremony. I'm sure every wedding comes with a bit of drama, different opinions, or day of surprises but Stacey was there every step of the way keeping control in our hands (not the in-laws or parents), helping pin boutonnieres to the groom's party (Thank god someone knew how!), and keeping things calm and collected. She did an amazing job and was very well spoken. I wouldn't have changed a single detail. Thanks for joining us on our wedding day and making it special Stacey! Cheers- Christine & Aaron

Amazing Experience!

A wonderful service

We contacted Stacey very last minute for our wedding in December of 2018; she responded promptly and made us aware of the variety of services she provides. She had several openings available and we were able to be married within about a week of contacting her. Her pre-written vows (she will also customize vows if requested) were beautiful and made our day absolutely perfect. Stacey is extremely kind and professional and I would highly recommend her.

Stacey provided exactly the type of ceremony that we were hoping to find! It was personalized and very well written. She did a great job with the rehearsal and was prompt and professional with all communication. Our ceremony was never a point of stress for me, and I really thank her for that. Even when the harpist hadn't arrived yet and it was 20 minutes before the ceremony, she was quick to let me know it would be alright and we'd find another option. Luckily the harpist arrived and all was OK, but she calmed my fears. As a same-sex couple, we were worried about finding someone that would make sure our ceremony felt as special as other weddings we had been to, and Stacey came through 100%. We felt like she was genuinely happy for us, and even gave us a keepsake marriage ceremony book. I couldn't recommend her highly enough!

Stacey was great and worked with us through everything to help us share the wedding vows that were about us. It was perfect. When we called last second to cancel an appointment because our daughter threw up on the couch, Stacey scheduled a phone interview with us. She gave us leeway to write certain parts, and added her own lovely words. Couldn't have been better.

Stacey did an amazing job officiating our ceremony. We read through several of her ceremonies and ended up piecing a few of them together to fit our personalities. She had absolutely no problem doing that. We also had her help out with a rehearsal the day before. My entire bridal party was all men and she helped us figure out the best way to get 6 guys down the aisle without it looking corny. It ended up raining on the day of our wedding, so all the outdoor rehearsing we did had to be tweaked for an indoor ceremony, but once again, Stacey did a great job managing everyone. I really liked that she asked all the guests to silence their phones, pronounced both our names properly, and asked how we would like to be announced right after the marriage. She didn't just assume we wanted to be announced as Mr and Mrs Trower (which I absolutely did not want). Bottom line, Stacey is awesome at her job and is very willing to work with you to give you a beautiful ceremony.

We hired Stacey on very short notice after our original officiant flaked 2 days before the wedding. I talked to her for about 15-20 minutes on the phone and felt so much better about things running smoothly. We had a really small wedding and didn’t plan on having any readings, but after browsing through Stacey’s website, it’s like a light went off in my head and I thought “this is going to be the best effing wedding ever!” And it was! And it was because the readings fit mine and my husband’s personalities. Don’t let anyone tell you it has to be find a certain way. Be as unconventional as you want and hire Stacey because she gets it.

Stacey was great, would definitely recommend. We did a Skype call to meet her (we lived far away), and felt comfortable that she would do a good job (this was after we chose to say no to a different officiant after meeting him). She was prompt, professional, and several people after the ceremony commented how well-run the ceremony was. She also came to our rehearsal and made sure everyone was prepared for the next day. She's great, especially if you're looking for a non-religious ceremony.

Stacey is a kind and wonderful person. We wrote our own ceremony and she brought it to life. Our wedding day was perfect and she was a big part of that. We found ourselves without an officiant two weeks before our wedding. Stacey not even being in Michigan at the time, was there for us and after a few phone conversations and an e-mail had her confirmed. We can't thank her enough!

Stacey was great from day one. She was very responsive and professional throughout the entire process. Stacey worked with my partner and I to create a ceremony that reflected our personal attitudes. We were planning our wedding from Australia to take place in Ann Arbor, MI. Stacey was accessible by email and phone to us. We would suggest an idea to her. Afterwards, she would come back with very thoughtful comments on how that might be perceived by our audience.

John and I were married at the Matthaei Botanic Gardens on December 19, 2015 with a total of 19 people in attendance. It was everything both of us could have ever wished for. Stacey played a large part in making that day so special. She is charismatic and presented herself professionally and yet warmly to our guests. Thank you Stacey!

Stacey was a fabulous officiant. She was super easy going, very willing to make our ceremony just how we wanted, and she absolutely nailed it at our wedding. She definitely practiced the ceremony beforehand as she didn't stumble once, and she came prepared with the ceremony printed out in a cute little book and even had our vows printed out in case my husband or I forgot them. She took care in mailing off our marriage license so we didn't have to worry about a thing afterward!

She was very professional and kind. I would definitely recommend Stacey as an officiant!

If I had to plan a wedding again, A Simple Ceremony would be the first vendor I would call! Stacey took the ramblings of my husband and I and created a beautiful and moving ceremony that made 50% of our guests cry and 100% say that it was the best ceremony they had ever attended. She was able to work with both our schedules (neither my husband or I lived in Michigan during the entire planning process) and was incredibly prompt in responding to me whenever I had a question. She was even able to handle conflicts with our family members with incredible grace. Stacey helped make our day incredibly special and less stressful!

Stacey was great to work with. She was not only a well-spoken officiant for our ceremony; she took the time to help as a mistress of ceremony as well. She checked in on me as the bride to alert me when we were ready to begin, helped gather our small group of 25 guests for the ceremony itself, and even assisted our photographer when it came time for group shots. My husband and I had an outdoor ceremony for our wedding. We found the whole idea of having to find an officiant a little odd and uncomfortable. We are no longer very religious and had no other leads to a wedding officiant, so I ended up just doing a general Google search. I contacted a few people who I thought were appealing based on their summaries and reviews. I thought that Stacey was very professional and accommodating. She responded promptly to my emails, answered all of my questions, and even offered to chat via phone or Skype as I was planning our wedding from WI. On her website she has several samples of readings for your ceremony, but she was very open to letting us customize it. We loved her writings; her words are so eloquent, so we basically just copied and pasted things together from her multiple lay outs in order to make them best reflect our ideals. She did a fantastic job of weaving our life stories into the ceremony. It all felt so personal, even though we only met the day before the wedding. She also gave us a printed copy of the readings from our ceremony. It's such a beautiful momento of such a perfect day. Equally as cherished as our wedding photos. These words are what our wedding was all about!

Quality of service: Overall working with Stacy was excellent.

Responsiveness: Again, excellent. Whenever my wife or I had questions Stacy would reply to our emails within a day or two, addressing the issues we brought up directly and with great ideas. Stacy was also very good at responding to any changes my wife or I made to the ceremony.

Professionalism: Top notch. My wife and I both wanted to throw some fun into the ceremony and Stacy's insight allowed us to have our fun while simultaneously ensuring that the ceremony was taken seriously.

Value: Would have paid more than she charged had we known exactly the high quality of service we would be getting. :)

Stacey was an amazing addition to our wedding. She was always on time for an appointment. Really wanted to understand our relationship an bring it into our ceremony. Wonderful to work with. Helped us design a ceremony that fit our personalities. After having multiple government employees question our choices, such as how we both wanted to change our last name (one employee at a courthouse was rude enough over how this isn't "normal" that I hung up on her), we were very happy to find someone who cared about what we wanted, not about trying to fit us into some obsolete traditions, and never made us feel weird about it.

Stacey was amazing. While still in the planning stages, she was so helpful, patient, and professional in dealing with a bride who was stressed and scattered. Her ceremony "Cosmic Love", personalized as it was to tell the story of my husband and me, was so perfect. When reading the rough drafts she sent to me, I would laugh out loud at the intense "That's IT! That's perfect!" feelings it inspired. I am also not a weepy kind of girl, but I teared up reading it, and when Stacey performed the ceremony, there wasn't a dry eye. The humor in the ceremony that leavened the sentimental bits, the references to both real scientists and science fiction, it was all so perfect for a couple of geeks who met on a silly game online, and had packed the room with nerds of a similar bent for the ceremony. I can't recommend her highly enough! If I could give her 10 stars out of 5, I would.

Stacey was amazing! She was professional, compassionate, and, most of all, patient with us. We made many changes to our wedding ceremony from day one all the way to the big day itself, and Stacey worked with us to make our ceremony exactly what we wanted. Stacey was able to make recommendations to us but customize these suggestions based on our preferences. She also helped us coordinate the setup of a very unusual outdoor space in order to make it work. Despite us living a thousand miles away from our wedding destination, we were never worried about our officiant selection or the ceremony itself. Stacy was absolutely fantastic! My husband and I wanted a small non-religious ceremony that would encapsulate what was really important to us in our relationship. I wasn't sure where to begin, but when I met with Stacy, she asked great questions that got me thinking and talking. From my (at times, emotional) rambling, she put together the most perfect ceremony that really captured my and my husband's personalities. It even had some jokes written into it since we are both big comedy fans.
Also, she was so helpful with the marriage license process and even helped woth the setup at our ceremony venue. All in all, our whole experience with Stacy was very positive, and I would recommend her to anyone who wants a very personalized and meaningful ceremony for their wedding.

Stacey was exactly what we needed to make our wedding day a success. We aren't a religious couple and trying to find someone to marry us was a little bit difficult. We found Stacey through a google search and we weren't disappointed. We met with Stacey once at our house to discuss the type of wedding we wanted, got to know each other a little bit, and discussed what the tone of the wedding would be. She supplied a whole bunch of ideas for vows and text to pick and choose from which was a godsend. We were into writing our own vows, but we also wanted something somewhat unique. Stacey helped us prepare the perfect ceremony. On the day of the wedding, she was on top of everything, from getting us and our wedding party lined up and ready to go, to making sure the guests got up and mingled so a quick room change could take place. She was the glue that stuck everything together and helped make our day perfect.

Stacey was wonderful and easy to work with. She helped our ceremony run smoothly (e.g. made sure everyone was in place on time, got the marriage license signed afterward). We used a ceremony from her website and it was beautiful. And I also loved that she gave us a copy of the ceremony so that we can always remember the words we spoke. Finally, it was a huge help that she took responsibility for sending the marriage license in after the wedding, since my husband and I left the very next day for our honeymoon.

We can't say enough about what a fantastic job Stacey with our wedding! We went to her with no idea what we wanted, and she put together a perfect ceremony. Stacey was great to work with. We were able to arrange everything through email (which was easiest for us). She helped us in choosing vows that meant the most to us and was receptive to our desires even when they were silly. She helped make our day as special as we had hoped.

Stacey truly made our wedding more special then we ever thought it could be. She was so professional and willing to work with us on our readings. We had a lot of trouble figuring out the right words to express our vows and she really helped us out and made our ceremony so touching and personal. We are so happy that we found Stacey and would definitely recommend her to anyone who whats a "simple ceremony"!

Stacey from "A Simple Ceremony" did a beautiful job as the officiant for our wedding. We chose Stacey because we wanted a nonreligious ceremony which focused on love and marriage. Stacey was always great about communication. We emailed several times before the wedding and she always responded promptly. We met with her prior to the big day and she helped us pick out various parts of our ceremony from an example book she put together. She was friendly and pleasant to work with. We would recommend "A Simple Ceremony" to anyone in the area looking for a nonreligious wedding ceremony.

Choosing Stacey as our officiant was one of the best and easiest decisions during our wedding planning process! I was having a difficult time finding the perfect officiant for my wedding, until a friend referred me to Stacey. Since she lives about an hour away from my husband and me, we planned everything via e-mail. The ceremony Stacey put together was so exceptionally wonderful and heartfelt. Many of my wedding guests came up to me after the ceremony to ask if Stacey was a friend of ours because the ceremony seemed so personal and included so many details about how my husband and I met and what makes our relationship work. It is so amazing that Stacey was able to write a ceremony so true to us and our personalities without ever having met us in person. I was also really impressed because we didn’t have a mic or speakers set up, and I was worried about guests in the back being able to hear the ceremony. Stacey took this into account and made sure she projected well, and everyone told me they heard her just fine. Overall, I was extremely impressed with Stacey and would absolutely recommend her to others!

Stacey was an amazing officiant. She walked us through everything and when our outdoor ceremony site was rained out she was our calm perspective that helped us through everything. My wife was so stressed/upset with "what to do now" and Stacey took her time to calm her. We are still getting compliments on what an amazing officiant she was and we could not agree more. She is a great leader, officiant and person. We would recommend her to everyone!

Stacey was great as our officiant. She was extremely flexible and accommodated our elopement ceremony with only a few days notice. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

We had two officients who had emergencies come up and canceled on us at the last minute. Stacy put together a fabulous ceremony at the last minute. It was very personalized and ran smoothly!!

Stacey officiated our June 22, 2013 wedding and did an amazing job. From the first time we contacted her to the day of the wedding she was always responsive and very open to guiding us through planning our ceremony as well as making it very clear that we could change anything to make the ceremony more personal. We used one of the ceremonies from her website and she was able to adjust it to add a reading and a family commitment section. She was a lovely calming presence through both our rehearsal and the wedding itself, assisting with getting guests to take their seats and communicating with the ceremony musicians to make sure everything went smoothly.

We received tons of comments about how lovely the ceremony was and would happily recommend Stacey to anyone looking for a wedding officiant.

Stacey was wonderful and exactly the officiant we were looking for. We are both very busy people and planned our wedding in the few Saturday hours we had available each week. While she made it clear that she was available to consult in more detail if that was something we needed, she also allowed us to correspond exclusively by email and that was a huge plus for us. She was so easy to work with and helped us keep things simple. She's flexible and respectful, and very non-judgmental. Our wedding was of course precious and important to us, but like I said--we are very busy people. Stacey made it possible to have a beautiful, meaningful ceremony without spending an excessive amount of time or stressing out about planning. We chose one of her sample ceremonies ("The Art of Marriage") and it was perfect for us, we believed in every word of it and that was important to us despite the fact that we didn't want (or have time) to write our own vows. Her rates are incredibly reasonable, especially for the high level of professionalism and quality that she delivers. We highly recommend Stacey!

Stacey did an AMAZING job. She was so responsive, very flexible and so open to ideas we had. Not to mention she already had some example ceremonies that were right up our alley. She made our special day even better, by reminding us, "it is okay to cry", and "just relax take your time". It was great to have her as "our" person. It felt like she was only concerned about our happiness and comfort on that day. It was truly a wonderful experience thanks to her. She was so nice, and had a GREAT speaking voice, that was moving not only to us, but to our guests. She kept everything moving right along too. She was very very affordable, and did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend her to anyone I know.

I was looking for an officiant on a short notice, as we eloped!! I read reviews from Stacey and knew I had to have her at my intimate ceremony. She responded quickly and worked with me really well. She writes beautiful ceremonies. She is an all around sweetheart and I am so glad she officiated my special day!! She is a genuinely nice person :)
