Beyond Perfect

There is no amount of words that can adequately describe/explain how grateful I am to Jackson at a Frame Forward for capturing our day in such a marvelous way. But I’m going to try to get it all in here.

Jackson was (and is) the most talented photographer, and the kindest, easygoing man we could have dreamed to have a part of our day. He truly went above and beyond that day/evening, and the finished products: Jaw dropping gorgeousness. From the very beginning of the day to literally up until the moment he finally went home, he was capturing every moment, and most of the time we had no idea where he was. Inconspicuous, but o, so very present. The photos are beyond stunning ladies. BEYOND. Both my husband and I agree, Jackson is was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. He was always quick to respond to questions, and communication throughout the whole process was simple and efficient. Our engagement session was a fun, easy going experience that showed us firsthand how lucky were to have his talents secured for our wedding day.

For me, one of the most important aspects to finding a photographer was how they interacted with us, and more importantly my husband as he tends to have a “cheesy” smile when posing. Within 5 minutes I knew Jackson was the perfect fit. He was an easy conversationalist, made us both feel so comfortable, listened intently to my questions and what we felt was important, and even asked questions about us just to know us as a couple a little more. To say Jackson is a people person is an understatement. (again, Ladies- the pics were amazing, my husband has not ONE cheesy smile in ANY of our photos!)

Now I have to share how great he was with my entire wedding party. 8 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen, 1 junior groomsmen, and 1 junior bridesmaid, 3 ushers, 2 flower girls (one just barely one years old), one ring bearer, and 1 personal attendant. Jackson had a lot of people to manage, capture, wrangle, and work with. But as the photos show, and as my gut told me the first time we met him, he rocked it. Everyone looks fabulous, got along great, and I heard across the board that everyone loved our photographer. He made the day easy, and just rolled with our schedule. Everyone was comfortable and his “let’s try this” was well taken by everyone, creating some of the most beautifully perfect images that we never would have thought of on our own.

There were some very specific, important images that I dreamed to have taken on our day, pictures that would require more time on the clock after a long day for our photographer- yet Jackson agreed almost immediately when I asked and explained its meaning. These extra pieces are what make Jackson stand out. It’s not just his talent you get when you hire him, but it is his kind and thoughtful personality, and the care and heart he puts in to your day and images.

One of the most common “big regrets” I’ve heard and read from brides is that they skimped on a photographer. Photos are the biggest part of your day. Go for quality for the greatest day of your lives. If you’re working with a tight budget as we were, you may see this as a stretch- but I promise you, if you get the privilege to work with Jackson you will not regret it in any way, and you find he’s worth way more than you paid. We have all of these amazing moments captured in the best way, in the best light, with the most amazing smiles plastered on our faces. Images that we will not only display predominately throughout our home, but so many that will be shared with our future family for years to come. Thank you Jackson. For everything.

Not just photos, but beautiful artwork!
So much goes into a wedding...endless days of planning, drama, emotion and excitement. The actual day was a total blur, so we were thrilled to have Jackson there to capture everything. He doesn't just take photos, he creates works of art. He has a keen eye for timing and finding the perfect shot. We absolutely love all of our images and couldn't be happier. Plus, he was tons of fun to share our day with -- funny, helpful, and patient. Look no further for your wedding photographer!

Jackson, awesome guy felt like we were friends for years the first day I met him. Made you feel very comfortable in the moment and low pressure " posing " knocked it out of the park with his photos ! Incredible. Can't take credit for finding him, that was my wife, but having him at our wedding made the day that much better.

Jackson shot our wedding just DAYS after having ACL surgery. He was such a trooper. He didn't complain once about being hurt or not feeling well. He was doing things he probably shouldn't have done (example: jumping up on a chair one legged), just to make sure he got the "perfect shot". By the end of the night, his knee was the size of a basketball.
Jackson caught all our perfect memories from our perfect day. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer. We love looking through all our photos over and over again, and that's thanks to Jackson.

Jackson made finding a photographer easy. His portfolio was magical, and I instantly knew we had found the photographer! Jackson is laid back and fun, incredibly easy to work with and communicates quickly if you have questions. Our wedding pictures are absolutely stunning!!

We could not have asked for a better wedding photographer. Jackson's work speaks for itself and you can see how amazing his photos are. But what you can't tell from the photos is how great it is to have him there on your big day and how easy and seamless he makes the whole process. Jackson makes sure to understand your vision and what you want, but at the same time, is able to offer his own creative ideas based on all his experience when you need that. He was super accommodating and responsive and even traveled across the country and spent a day with us for an engagement shoot. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with him and are ecstatic about the finished product. We give Jackson the highest recommendation with no reservations whatsoever.

If you are wondering if Jackson’s services are “worth it,” you will not for a moment regret your decision in working with him.

We had an absolute blast spending time with Jackson on our wedding day and during our engagement shoot. What most people don't tell you is that on your wedding day, you spend the most time with your photographer; not your groom, wedding party, or parents, but your photographer. Because of this, I am glad that Jackson is such a likeable guy, very considerate, and does a phenomenal job putting his subjects at ease. Moreover, he had our wedding party and guests rolling with laughter. Everyone in our party was wondering how we got so lucky with such a personable and skilled photographer.

Aside from his personality, Jackson’s images are exceptional. Highly skilled, resourceful, and imaginative, your pictures will turn out different than all other weddings you have seen before. Seriously, he was not afraid of getting dirty to get a perfect shot, or in our case balancing on a canoe and jumping from boats. He is able to use his knowledge of photography and his creativity to bring out the best in you, your guests, and your environment. The images that we received were absolutely stunning. He not only took pictures of us, but created works of art that we will cherish indefinitely. He captured us at our best, brought out our personalities, and is truly a spectacularly imaginative photographer.

On top of the strikingly beautiful photos, Jackson was professional in all communications. He even helped in planning our wedding timeline, and gave advice on other wedding matters. You will feel like you are important in all communications and that he is committed and determined to provide you with the best photography experience possible. We also appreciated his ability to go with the flow, and change his timeline during our wedding.

We cannot wait until we can work with Jackson again, he is seriously an amazing guy, professionally & personally

Jackson shot both our engagement pictures in Minnesota and then our wedding out in Oregon. There are not enough characters allowed in this review to describe how happy my husband and I are with Jackson and our photos. For starters he's very prompt with communication, which anyone planning a wedding knows is a major bonus. We exchanged multiple emails a day sometimes and his replies were always thoughtful and helpful. His non-intrusive style resulted in shots that take me quickly back to the emotion of that day (which flies by so fast). Jackson tore his ACL right before our wedding, and even that didn't slow him down. He was hiking around, doing whatever necessary to get his shots, still cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. He fit right in with my family and guests, and we felt like we had a new friend at the end of the weekend. As you can see, his photos are unique and truly breathtaking. There is a night shot from our wedding of the mountains and milky way that is so beautiful it doesn't even seem real. It meant a lot to us that he truly captured the beauty of our hometown and the sentiment of our wedding. Jackson worked easily with our videographer, and had corresponded with him a few times prior to the wedding. He is humble and approachable. He was one of the last people to leave our wedding, taking pics well into the night. I would reccomend him in a heartbeat. At the end of the day, your photos are what you have to remember the whirlwind of events, and it was by far the best investement we made. Jackson has a passion for people and photography that set him apart from the rest. Do yourself a favor and hire him before someone else does!

In addition to providing us with his beautiful photography (which we all expected after seeing samples of his work), Jackson was a wonderful addition to the experience of the wedding itself. He was personable, professional, and friendly without being overbearing in the least. He captured some wonderful images of friends and family when they didn't even know he was around, as well as the more traditional group shots. He also gave us images of some of the details of our wedding that I was too busy to enjoy fully the first time around! Highly recommended.

Jackson was our photographer for our perfect April wedding and I would recommended him to everyone and anyone looking for a great photos and a great time. He was an absolute delight to work with and all friends/family at the wedding complimented on how natural the photos seemed. He responded promptly to all my emails (and I sent a lot!), gave us advice on engagement photos and outfits to wear, and helped pick perfect spots for all our photos. His pricing was very reasonable and he helped us come up with a price that worked for us. We have turned several of his prints into canvas photos in our house and they are constantly complimented. He will take your traditional photos with your parents, grandparents, etc. but everything else is unique, brilliant, and stunning. He stayed until all the photos we wanted were taken and everything felt nautral and not rushed. Two of my biggest concerns with picking a photographer were 1) that it would be awkward for a stranger to being taking your pictures and 2) the photos wouldn't turn out. My husband and I were very impressed with Jackson. We really did not know what we wanted and were so happy that he provided such good advice and guidance. He suggested a great outdoor site for our engagement photos and had lots of ideas for poses, including poses with our dog! The pictures turned out amazing - professional, gorgeous, yet casual like we are. He really got to know us and helped us tease out what we wanted. We are constantly getting asked who our photographer was. We definitely plan to use Jackson again at our next big photo op (?baby someday?)

Jackson was so much fun to work with throughout our entire planning process and up through our big day. I loved his photography style, but I really chose him because of how comfortable he made my (now) husband feel in front of the camera. My husband isn't really into posing for photos, but with Jackson, were never posed or uncomfortable, everything was very natural and fun! He kept my husband from getting antsy and uncomfortable, and kept things fun for the whole group! We had an amazing time with Jackson the day of the wedding as well - and he stuck it out until the very end of the night! We have so many amazing photos that really convey what a great party it was and how much everyone enjoyed themselves!

Our experience with A Frame Forward Photography was truly wonderful! We were looking for someone fun and easygoing who could help to capture the real us in our photos. Jackson was that person and we had a blast working with him on our engagement shoot. He was up for all of our ideas and he captured so many cool moments that perfectly represent my husband and I and our relationship. We would highly recommend working with Jackson! From the moment we met with him to discuss our vision, he was receptive and enthusiastic. We were able to conveniently schedule our engagement photo session at the location that meant the most to us, and include our three dogs, as well. The day of the wedding, Jackson was front and center when needed, but most of the time he was off capturing the story of our special day. We have had an overwhelming number of compliments on our wedding photos! We were even approached by our venue to use one of his photos for a magazine ad. Jackson is professional and personable. Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming and choosing vendors can be stressful however reading recommendations helps immensely which is why I am taking time to write this review about our amazing photographer Jackson Tyler Eddy and his company A FRAME FORWARD PHOTOGRAPHY. I heard about Jackson from my sister in law and I booked him immediately after that. Jackson is the type of person that puts you at ease immediately, his passion for photography, creativity and love of people just radiates from him like the sun. He is forever patient, full of energy, humorous, and genuinely cares about what you want. He scouted the area & arranged the first look for my husband & I days before our wedding even though he had to drive hours to do so. He never stops smiling or moving, uses 2 cameras at once, never minds getting dirty so I frequently saw him lying on the ground or climbing somewhere up high just to get the perfect shot! He remembered everything that was important to us and captured each of those moments as well as a million more. So many photos I look at now and wonder how on earth he captured it but that is Jackson for you. He goes above and beyond expectations and all with a smile on his face. From the first look in the field under a beautiful sky to our husband and wife photos on the dock at sunset to the wedding itself and reception afterwards... I cannot choose my favorite photos! I love every single one (so many that my husband says our house is only filled with wedding photos now which may be a bit much) I have seen many wedding photos since I received ours from Jackson and not once have I ever wished I had a different photographer. If I was asked the question now.... If there was one thing that you should splurge on for your wedding my answer would be the PHOTOGRAPHER!! Not the DJ, the food, the dress.. it would be the one that captures the moments and makes them last forever. Thank you so much Jackson Tyler Eddy and A FRAME FORWARD PHOTOGRAPHY!!!

Jackson was a blast to work with. Did a laid-back engagement session and then rocked it for us on our wedding day. He was fun, engaged, creative and flexible. Went the extra mile (i.e. sprinting the other side of Lake of the Isles, scaling walls) to get unique and memorable shots. Our pictures are great and so is Jackson.

Before our wedding people kept telling us and we kept reading that wedding pictures are one of the most important things to a bride and groom. For this reason, we tracked down a lot of photographs with different qualities, strengths, and price points. In the end, we decided on Jackson Eddy, of A Frame Forward Photography, because of his highly artistic style, friendly personality, and reasonable price point. Not only was this one of the most important decisions we made, but probably the best wedding decision we made. He made us feel so comfortable during out photo shoots and was always in the perfect place throughout our wedding day. Best of all and most importantly, the pictures of our special day by far exceeded what we were hoping for. He truly created art on our wedding day and art we can't wait to showcase in our new home.

Working with Jackson was probably the easiest and most memorable experience during our planning process. He was so fun to work with and full of ideas that really helped us capture what we wanted. Just two weeks before our wedding our photographer canceled on us and we were devastated! I contacted A Frame Forward because they had come highly recommended by other friends. It was the best decision we made!! Jackson was so helpful and willing to be our photographer on our last minute notice! He was so professional. We have had so many compliments on our wedding photos. He did such a great job that we asked him to take photos of our newborn baby!! He also did our 6 month baby photos and he will be doing the 1 year as well.

Jackson was AMAZING! He was very helpful and open during our planning period, always with quick answers and ideas. Our engagement shoot was just the thing to make us comfortable with A) being photographed B) with our fantastic photographer. The wedding pictures were beyond wonderful! Jackson was easy going, confident, always happy, and full of personalized ideas. My family LOVED him! And oh, my. . . the final pictures are out of this world. My step-mother said "This man is not a photographer, he's a POET with his camera!" and I have to agree. There is absolutely nothing I can think of to that he could have done better. A Frame Forward Photography was an incredible business to work with. Jackson was able to give us a great engagement session (just before Christmas) and an even greater wedding session. He was very friendly and never once seemed to be in panic mode or rushed...which, as the bride, was very calming! I was in awe at what he was able to capture on my wedding day. Some of the shots he took were of very emotional and precious moments for me, and I had no idea that he would be able to provide a way for those moments to stay with me forever through a simple photo. Jackson was the only option for our wedding photography. As a photographer myself, I was very particular on who good enough to be MY photography. Jackson got to know we and was completely on the same page. The photos were great! The whole wedding party loved working with him! And my husband is still baffled by how bright the photos are from the dance. Eco-friendly, great photos, a BLAST to work with.

A Frame Forward Photography did both our engagement and our wedding photos, and we couldn't be happier. The chemistry is SO important when choosing a photographer, and I believe Jackson's personality - which combines enthusiasm, creativity, and a great work ethic - is a wonderful combination to work with. He clearly loves his work, is great at communicating (I've never worked with anyone who replies faster to emails!) and has a great outlook on the world that translates through his work. Before we chose a photographer, I showed some of his work to my sisters and friends, along with another photographer's, who happened to be more experienced, more in demand, and yes, more expensive. I didn't give my sisters or friends any background info, though; just showed them the pictures and told them to choose which they liked best. They all said, "Hands down, no contest. This one," and they all chose AFFP. We agreed. On the big day, Jackson was on time, excited about the day, and most importantly, CALM. And the pictures? Well... let's just say I cried tears of happiness THREE times the day he gave them to us. They're spectacular. Working with Jackson at A Frame Forward Photography was the best decision we made in our wedding! He is very flexible, creative, professional, and easy to work with. One of the difficulties we found when researching photographers for our wedding was the fact that none of the vendors in our price range had the quality of work that we were looking for. My husband is a graphic designer and has high standards when it comes to anything related to visual art. When we came across A Frame Forward Photography and saw his incredible use of colors along with uniquely creative shots, it was a no-brainer. Jackson likes to try out new ideas, which has proven to make both our engagement pictures and wedding pictures truly one of a kind. I can't tell you how many compliments we have gotten on them. I would recommend A Frame Forward Photography to anyone, and will definitely be using them again in the future! And so should you!

Having Jackson take the photos for our wedding was a GREAT decision. He was extremely professional and fun! He made sure he captured all the special moments of the day. The final photos are just incredible! I would recommend him to anyone getting married in the Twin Cities area. He even traveled to Red Wing, MN to shoot our wedding at no additional cost!

My experience with A Frame Forward Photography was wonderful. Jack did an amazing job capturing the excitement of the day. My husband is always very nervous when taking pictures and Jack was able to help him relax and enjoy taking many, many photos. Jacks personality is calm, easy going, and very soothing – everything you need in a photographer on your wedding day.

Prior to the wedding, Jack was gracious enough to meet with us at the church we were getting married in to get a feel for the day of the wedding. We took a walk around the church and grounds to find the best places to have photos taken. He even spoke with the pastor to confirm the amount of lighting that would be available during the ceremony and the best places to take pictures and not be noticed.

Our wedding photos are amazing! Jack captured every moment from the second my husband saw me for the first time in my wedding dress to our guest congratulating us in the receiving line.

I highly recommend Jack and A Frame Forward Photography for your special day. Whether it is capturing the excitement of your engagement photos or the thrill of your wedding day, Jack will not disappoint you.

I highly recommend Jackson and A Frame Forward Photography. Jackson shot our wedding a year ago in July. My husband and I were absolutely thrilled with the photos.
I know it can be a bit scary choosing a photographer b/c I’m sure you have a vision for what you’re looking for and you want to make sure that vision is captured. Jackson listens to what you’re looking for and he makes it happen. When we rec’d our photos back, it was so awesome to see how Jackson captured moments between my husband and I but also our guests. We have some really awesome “in the moment” photos of us and our guests that are fantastic. They are also original in that we have poses and “in the moment” photos that are unique, which we love. We can pretty much relive our day and reception through the photos so its really fun to look back at them and reminisce about the events of the evening. I can’t tell you how many times our guests have asked for copies of photos AND complimented us on our photographer.

I can also say that Jackson has received numerous business from our guests at the wedding who loved our photos. Jackson is now the primary photographer for some of my family members and many of our friends.

We were lucky enough to have selected the perfect photographer to capture our day. Working with Jackson with A Frame Forward Photography was such a great experience. He made us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera so we loved having him be a part of our wedding day. He selected such great locations for the posed photographs and the candid images really captured the fun reception. His prices were incredibly fair especially considering the high quality images we received. You would be wise to select him for your special occasion!

I was extreamly pleased with my wedding photos, Jack is a enthusiastic photographer and has many tricks up his sleeve to deliver both traditional and unique photos. I had a wide range of pictures and was very pleased with the job he did. I would highly recommend him to everyone!

Jackson Eddy was my wedding photographer and he was great! I loved how my pictures turned out! I had a traditional Laotian Wedding at my house and Jackson was able to capture all of the important moments of our special event. He even arrived early to check out the lighting of our house ahead of time. Jackson's easy-going, flexible and friendly attitude allowed him to adapt to our non-traditional wedding and capture the essence of our Laotian culture.
I would definitely recommend A Frame Forward Photography and Jackson Eddy. We plan to use Jackson again in the future to take our family photos as our family grows.

Jackson Eddy of A Frame Forward Photography was awesome as our wedding photographer. I had a ton of questions for him and he was very pleasant and quick to respond to my emails. I had a list of shots I wanted him to do and he did all of them and also suggested some creative spots we could shoot. He was very flexible while working with my family, wedding party, and an indecisive bride. My husband and I were very happy with the results and highly recommend Jackson to any bride.

Jackson was the photographer for my wedding last fall. He did an excellent job. I thought that his rates were very reasonable compared to other photographers that I researched.

He was really easy going and fun when we were working one on one and like a ninja when taking picture of the reception. I wanted a lot of candid shots and he did a great job of being present but unobtrusive. Before the wedding, he inquired about what my expectations were and he went above and beyond. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Jackson as my wedding photographer.

During our wedding, the Frame Forward Photographer, Jackson, was very friendly, and very skilled at making everyone feel at ease and relaxed during our session. He was open to trying out whatever we wanted and he always tried his best to get the most creative shot. If you are looking for something more than your typical sit and smile photo experience, then A Frame Forward Photography would be a great pick for you:)

Jackson was absolutely perfect to work with. He is so laid back, yet professional, and just seemed like one of the gang throughout our wedding day. He was willing to roll with any of our ideas for wedding pics, we had him driving all over town and up and down bluffs following us around, and honestly, the photo shoots were one of my very favorite parts of the day. Jackson's modern and artistic style is a leap above your standard wedding pics, and he was able to capture moments throughout the day that were so awesome to see from another perspective. I fully recommend Jackson's services to any couple, but especially those looking for a modern and fun twist to your wedding photo experience!

Jackson was absolutely fantastic to work with. He did both our engagement session and wedding photos. By the end of our engagement session, it felt like we were working with a friend we'd known forever. He does a great job of making everyone feel comfortable and relaxed and puts an ease to the day. He stayed well into our dance and caught memories that we are so grateful to have. We love the beauty of nature and Jackson has a talent for seeing that and combining it with your day. The end result were very beautiful pictures, several that look like artwork. We love them all!

Oversold and disappointed

I should have reviewed this vendor a long time ago, but just having looked at my wedding pictures I am still so dissatisfied. When we booked him, he assured us he would check up the wedding site, and then he showed up late. He came flustered, unprepared bc he had a wedding the night before. He gave us a minimal amount of pics and the only picture I have with my mom has a cooler in the background. I hope he’s gotten better? Still so disappointed in the product after 6 years.

Not worth your money

Future brides and grooms - please read our experience with Jackson before hiring him. I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but I want future couples to be informed about our experience.

We were extremely dissatisfied with our engagement pictures that we decided to fire him a month before the wedding. Out of the 66 pictures we received, we liked maybe 6. Ultimately, we didn’t want to like less than 40 pictures from our wedding day over 10 hours of coverage, and we didn’t want to hate looking back at our wedding day. I’m sharing detailed explanations at the bottom of this review in case you don’t want to read a long review. In summary, most pictures had awkward poses, unflattering angles, and weird editing.

We also had delivery issues with Jackson. We took the engagement pictures on Monday, 5/13 and never heard back from him for the next 3 weeks, so I reached out on Tuesday 6/4. He said he hoped to finish them by Sunday evening. On Monday 6/10 at 1:13 AM, he emailed us stating that he needs another day to wrap up the rest of our images. On Tuesday 6/11 at 12:59 AM, we finally got them back. We wanted these pictures because we had a short engagement and I wanted to send out invites ASAP for our September wedding. In the end, it didn’t matter because we didn’t feel good about using any of them for our invitation. Knowing we might have issues with delivery time, later on I asked during a call if he can provide any wedding day sneak peek picture. I thought it was a fair question because they’re common and standard in the industry, but I was taken aback when he immediately asked “do you just need them for posting”?

Truthfully, we fired Jackson because we lost trust in him and didn’t want him on our wedding day anymore. In hindsight, the amount of pictures delivered for the amount of money charged was a big red flag. I'm genuinely shocked by the positive reviews I read before signing the contract. Please consider looking elsewhere to find your photographer - you might save money and receive more and better-quality photos with more coverage hours and faster delivery time.
