  Great gown selection for bridal party, mother of bride, etc

  This little independently run shop just took a whole lot of stress off my shoulders. I needed a dress for the marine corps ball, which is tomorrow, and couldn't find anything in my size (16) that fit correctly at the major department stores.
  
  The lady on the phone instructed me to choose which dresses I liked and call back, and she would tell me if she had the dress in stock in my size. Well, she had one in stock in my size and it fit perfectly. Very simple, but elegant, I will be pairing it with some gorgeous Swarovski earrings and necklace.
  
  I am so pleased and impressed with their ability and willingness to accommodate me. I had my dress within the hour (I live in RSM down the street).

  I would say GO! Here's my story, years ago I got on her website and saw "the dress," I don't do it often, but occasionally when I see something I know its the one. And I found the one and only dress for me. I emailed to see how much it cost, and it was extremely reasonable.....years latter I got on the site again and it was still there, I didn't know how much longer it would be there so I asked. They said it wasn't going to be there much longer. I was heart broken I wasn't engaged, I didn't even have a boyfriend, but I was going to loose my dress.
  Anyway about a month later it was still on their website, so I emailed them and ended up talking to Donna on the phone after emailing them. She was awesome, she told me that I could just send her some money every month and when I came up with half she would order the dress; that way if it wasn't on the site anymore I would still get it. (By then I decided I would buy it so I would have it when I did get married.)
  It is amazing, a princess dress in taffeta, with embroidery, and I could go on and on. Last month she ordered it, I am still doing a few more payments, but this month it is no longer available, however I'm still getting it, YEA, and when it comes I won't owe anything for it, because I payed for it a little at a time.
  I am finding Donna and her staff awesome. I will have to update this after I get the dress, but as for there service, its awesome.
  
  She also found out that I had a particular type of veil I wanted so she asked me to send her some pictures and she'ed show me what she had, when she got her website up. Wahoo. I have found her fast at getting back with me as well. Thanks Donna, I am super excited for my dress.

  I wish I could give them 10 stars on flexibility. I had a disaster happen with my first wedding dress where a tailor made it unwearable. 5 DAYS before my wedding, by a miracle I was lead to this vendor. They took one look at my old dress, instantly got an idea of what my style was and pulled the perfect gown for me. They zipped it up, it fit outstandingly, and I walked out of there with a veil, a headband, and a dress 10x better than my first one. Also I came back two days later to buy a hoop skirt, and it was too long, so they busted out their sewing machine and hemmed it up for me in less than 5 minutes. I cannot sing their praises highly enough.

  I loved working with these folks. They are honest and do great work! I must admit that I was nervous about ordering a dress online (I don't always have luck ordering clothes). But it turned out to be fabulous! The dress was so perfect -- so me! I couldn't love it more.

  Donna did my wedding dress, accessories, invitations, and bridesmaids' dresses and it was so great working with her! Everything went smoothly and she took great care of me. I had a frustrating experience with the only LDS bridal shop within 200 miles, so finding Donna was a miracle! Definitely not the cheapest option, but the personal attention and service that Donna provides are totally worth it.

  Her dresses are amazing but every other thing costs an arm and a leg. The invitations were beautiful.

  There ARE NO REFUNDS, NO RETURNS UNLESS YOU TRADE FOR ANOTHER DRESS OF THE SAME PRICE OR HIGHER. THE DRESS I ORDERED HAD A SATIN COLLAR AND CUFFS, IT ARRIVED WITH NO SATIN CUFFS BECAUSE THE MANUFACTOR SCREWED UP THE FIRST BATCH AND EVEN THOUGH THE PICTURE ONLINE SHOWS SATIN CUFFS, THERE ARE NONE. BE SURE TO LOOK AT THE F&Q, READ EVERY THING.
  
  I blame the manufacturer but I do think the people in charge of A DRESSY OCCASION, web site should replace the picture with the correct dress or either let people know that the dress has no satin cuffs. I would not have bought the dress if I I knew the dress had been changed. I am really upset about this transaction. Oh, and if you are 5 ft 9 inches tall, iTHE DRESS WILL BE TOO SHORT

  Has beautiful merchandise, but is rushed and offers less than average customer service.

  Ordered a bridesmaid dress from Canada and had terrible experience. Save yourself a headache and stay FAR AWAY from this site. Donna suggested the wrong size even with my exact measurements (I'm talking I could fit a melon in this dress with me), gave me false information about shipping costs even when I gave her my mailing address, and I couldn't even write a review on the website after being promoted by an email link that lead to nowhere. The return/exchange policy is actually JUST an exchange policy (for an item of the same or higher value, not paying for the shipping of your dress back or the new one). I was very displeased with this site and would recommend choosing a different place to order from. The carelessness in which my interaction was handled was beyond frustrating. Not to mention the website is horrible (no sizing chart, difficult to find contact info for outside the states, poorly informative exchange policy. My order was $55 US (a little less than $70 CAD) and I paid a total of over $120 to manage to get the dress her even though Donna said shipping would be less than $30 for sure. Do not trust this site.

  Future brides, whatever you do, DO NOT get your dress from here. First off, the ‘shop’ is located inside a house in a gated neighborhood which was kind of odd but I still had a pleasant experience picking out my dress. However after that nothing went right. Do not believe anything the employees or owner say. No one is on the same page and the miscommunication is so prevalent and the owner will blame it all on you. My favorite quote from the owner from our heated conversation was, “it is not my fault my employees don’t know what they are doing”. Even though it is 100% the owners fault. The owner will talk over you the whole entire time and won’t let you get a word in edge wise until you are so mad you are shouting at her. Then she blames it on you for not saying something even though you can tell she lacks active listening skills. The owner will also gaslight you like no other. She had the audacity to say “all you did was cuss me out”, when I’m reality all I said was “this situation is a shitshow” (which it was. I was told one thing and then told another and the owner will not honor what her employees misinform you of). This lady made me feel like I was going crazy and even let me know how terrible of a person I (apparently) am. You can tell from just talking with her that she is a full blown narcissist and has never gained the necessary skills to be a business owner someone would actually like to be around. I have never met such an unintelligent, rude, gaslighting, narcissistic, and disorganized company in my entire life. The owner even went behind my back and against my wishes and shipped my dress to me even though I specifically told her not to do that. When I reminded her that I explicitly told her not to ship my dress she said, “you didn’t explicitly tell me. I gave you the option to ship your dress and you said no.” Any intelligent person would know that, that is explicitly telling someone not to do something. She took away the fun moment of picking up my dress along with taking a happy memory if picking out my dress with loved ones and turned it stressful and disheartening. I just pray that no other bride has to endure her disrespect during a time that should be so positive and special. There are many other places to get your dress where this will not happen. Whatever you do, do not give them any of your money. A owner that is this terrible not just as a business owner but as a human does not deserve your business.

  The entire experience I had at this store was bad. Donna was answering phone calls during my scheduled appointment, the room was very small and even though she took my measurements, she was 2 (!!!!) sizes off when it came to my correct wedding dress size. She pushed me into buying a bra that she said I really needed but didn't have in stock and then wouldn't let me return it when it didn't work with the dress at all. Her exact response was: "You can keep it and wear it with other dresses or outfits you have."
  
  The dress that I bought was very expensive and I wish I would have gone somewhere else where the service would have been better than a New York deli.

  If you're looking into using A Dressy Occasion, I STRONGLY suggest reading their Yelp Reviews. I'm going through a less-than-stellar experience with Donna at the moment, and I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone else. I'm without my wedding dress because of this. Wishing I had read the reviews first :-(
