Marie was amazing! From our first phone call, I knew we went with the right choice. She was so knowledgeable in all things wedding. During the ceremony, she kept things lighthearted and funny. Valentines day wedding - mystic ct

Marie Tyler Wiley was the perfect person to officiate our Valentine's Day wedding. The ceremony was short & sweet. We loved our vows and especially the poem at the end. Marie was the perfect choice to marry us! From our first conversation, she really got to know my husband and I and used that information to create a ceremony that truly felt like us. She listened to our wants and was able to seamlessly include a ring warming ceremony per our request. Marie’s warm personality and humor helped us feel at ease and comfortable on our wedding day. Wonderful and charming Marie

The wonderful and charming Marie accompanied us on our big day and we couldn't have found anyone better!

Very personal and fun!

Marie made an effort to get to know me and my husband on a personal level. We had a very small (family and close friends only) wedding at a unique location, and wanted to have a ceremony that capitalized on both those things, and she really delivered. Everyone was laughing and smiling and happy, and it was overall a great day. We wrote our own vows, but she provided us with plenty of suggestions and references to help us come up with ideas and to make sure everything went smoothly. We definitely recommend her as an officiant to any couple, especially for a small, intimate wedding.

Wonderful and personable experience

I can’t say enough about this wonderful woman. From the first time we spoke we just clicked and I knew my wedding was in good hands. I live in NY and had to plan my entire elopement in CT with my fiancé over the phone. Marie was so helpful and not only helped me plan every detail of my out of town wedding, but was happy to recommend other vendors that I needed for flowers, photography and music! Marie kept in close contact with me leading up to my wedding and ensured that every request I had was met to the last detail! Needless to say, our wedding went off as planned and we were so very happy with everything. Marie even called us the day after we were married just to see how we were enjoying our first day as husband and wife and to make sure we were satisfied with the service! I thought this was such a nice touch and attested to the character of Marie - who is someone who truly cares about others and really enjoys making others happy. She is a gem and is an excellent choice when considering who to hire with such an important responsibility!!

GLP Wedding

Marie was a LIFESAVER. I was in panic mode about our wedding seeing we had just moved back home from Chicago, I had started a new job, we were house hunting, and now having to plan wedding in a town I knew nothing about (Groton LP)! So, my now husband found Marie online and we set up a meeting quick quick! As soon as we met her we knew we were going to hit it off! From the very beginning she made the entire process easy and actually enjoyable! She got to know and understand what it was we wanted and made it happen better than I could have imagined. She was also our JP and I don’t think anyone could have done it better- she made us laugh, cry, laugh again and even made us stop to smell the roses- just to ensure we would have a memory of each moment that day. And, on top of all of that, she managed to help us out with renting an amazing house on the point with views of the ocean for days where we were able to host our reception dinner. I would recommend her to anyone looking to plan the wedding they’ve always imagined!

My husband had heard good things about Marie Tyler Wiley, and was able to get her to marry us in our own home! A few weeks before the wedding, she emailed both of us a questionnaire to fill out so she could get to know us. Then, she sent us the draft of the ceremony and asked for our feedback (I only changed one minor thing, because she really has us nailed, it was great!). It was a simple ceremony, and she did a wonderful job making sure my wishes were met to have a moment to honor my mother and my husband's father (both deceased). She made us laugh and cry during the vows, and even stayed for some pictures at the end. I would recommend her if anyone needs a JP or officiate.

Marie, Marie, Marie...where do I begin? Marie is amazing at what she does. She has an infectious passion for life and her couples, demonstrated by the time and quality she puts into getting to know the couple and working with them to make the perfect ceremony. I met Marie in 2010 and we worked together for a year before my first wedding in 2011. The day of she was brilliant and made a perfect day. However, the marriage didn't last. The great thing has been that we have stayed in touch on Facebook all these years. When I got enagaged this year, I called her and explained what a challenging time we were having trying to find someone local in Texas...but she offered to come down to Texas and officiate our wedding! After we booked the travel and got everything squared away, Marie and I worked together to create the perfect ceremony. Flash forward to the week of our wedding, Marie was here for our rehearsal and took charge and made sure everything was smooth for the big day. My family loved meeting her and spending time with her. Marie was so warm and great, sharing stories and laughs with our family and having a ball in Texas. On the day of our wedding, Marie delivered an absolutely beautiful ceremony. It was perfect, everything we wanted and discussed...she was loud enough that everyone could hear her (she insisted she didn't need a mic and she was right lol). She was great at making eye contact with us and our guests, so warm, delivered with care and passion. This is what she lives for. Marie deserves every stellar review she receives as she loves what she does and takes pride in knowing her couples and making everything a great time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Marie, for coming down to Texas and helping make our day perfect. We love you and will be eternally grateful!

Marie Tyler Wiley is a unique, bright, funny, kind, tolerant, warm, loving, and all-around wonderful human being -- AND an even better Justice of the Peace! Given just a week's notice, Marie rearranged her holiday schedule to marry my husband and me at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut this past summer! In addition to marrying us, she also provided us with the names of wonderful local photographers, musicians, and restaurants that might've been able to accommodate our needs. Marie is a wealth of information and will provide you will long lists of vendors in every planning area you might need, as well as ceremony ideas that might add to your special day ("Unity Candle Ceremony," anyone?). We especially enjoyed her style - humorous yet touching - as it meshed very well with our personalities and families! Marie is able to adapt to any number of wedding styles and will fit in comfortably with people wherever she goes. She also comes very well-prepared for your "big day" - she "interviewed" my husband and me separately about our romantic history, favorite memories, and thoughts on a long-lasting marriage, then shared them during the ceremony! 5 STARS! Marie Tyler Wiley is the best officiant and wedding planner you could ever ask for! I highly recommend her to anyone getting married in Connecticut. As an officiant, Marie is knowledgeable, organized, and creative. Our wedding ceremony ran smoothly and we felt completely comfortable on our wedding day because of her wealth of experience. She also performed a beautiful wedding ceremony, called “Wedding by the Sea”, which complimented our venue and theme perfectly (our ceremony was held outdoors, alongside the Mystic River, and we selected a nautical theme). Marie is also personable, caring, and incredibly funny – her personality and humor could light up a room! My husband and I both agree she made our wedding ceremony more memorable because she simply is the type of person you could meet once and never forget. Marie is a great wedding planner because she knows everyone in town, and everyone loves her because she has the biggest heart! I planned my ceremony while living in another state (Atlanta, Georgia), but I never worried about selecting vendors because Marie knows all the best talent in town. She was also very diligent about keeping us on track with our wedding budget, and maintained a perfect balance between making choices which were economical without sacrificing quality. Marie really went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I felt comfortable during the planning process, and enjoyed our overall wedding experience. When I was living in Atlanta, I didn’t have close friends or family nearby to help me shop for a wedding dress (we had recently moved from Virginia), so Marie arranged for one of her good friends who lived in the area to help me find a dress. Additionally, the day before my husband and I got married, Marie even met with us to go swimming so we could relax and de-stress before we tied the knot. My husband & I really appreciated Marie b/c we were able to go through the wedding planning process knowing we were in good hands.

Marie was absolutely fabulous!! Less than 2 months before our wedding we found ourselves without an officiant which was when I thankfully found Marie. Marie was AMAZING, plain and simple. She was easy to work with from the beginning to the end. From the time of our first meeting we felt so comfortable working with Marie and we knew from that moment she was the perfect fit for us. Marie was always available to talk and quick to respond to emails and/or texts. The day of our rehearsal she provided thorough instructions to all members of the bridal party and to my husband and I regarding how the ceremony was going to be conducted. When we left that evening we were extremely comfortable knowing the ceremony was going to be absolutely fabulous, which it was! The ceremony was not a textbook, cookie cutter wedding. Marie developed example ceremonies for us to review, reorganize and modify to our liking in order to create the perfect ceremony for ourselves. The ceremony was a great combination of traditional and fun which kept all guests completely engaged. Marie took the time to get to know us and developed the ceremony to fit our personalities flawlessly. Marie is THE BEST! If, like my husband and I, you are not religious or have mixed backgrounds but want someone who will put her heart into your ceremony, as if you were a longtime clergy member or even a friend, she is the one to choose.

Marie takes her job very very seriously and truly wants to give you the best ceremony possible. And not the ceremony SHE thinks is the best, the one that is best for YOU. To achieve this she has you answer a questionnaire about yourself, your family, your wedding and of course your relationship. She will also meet (and in our case, Skype), with you whenever needed to work out the details. And she's very responsive on e-mail. She really wants to get to know you, and it shows.

Finally, Marie is hilarious. She will deliver a heartfelt and sweet ceremony, but will also keep your guests laughing. She entertains the crowd, and she loves doing it, because she loves people.

In my case, we had a mixed ceremony where we included two Jewish traditions, since my husband is Israeli. When we told Marie we wanted to have his dad step up and read the Seven Blessings - a Jewish tradition - in Hebrew, and for her to translate to English, she was game. In fact, anything we suggested she was up for!

In terms of her process, Marie draws upon the questionnaire and any meetings or calls to write up three different ceremonies personalized for you, then works with you to reconfigure to meet your preferences. For us the result was just perfect: we were very happy, and we received many many compliments from our guests.

So if you want someone who really cares about YOUR wedding, loves her job, entertains your guests and will also keep you calm (I had a meltdown before the ceremony because I got nervous being in front of so many people in that big dress) - it's a no brainer. Pick Marie.

We had the best experience working with Marie! From the first time we spoke on the phone, she was so friendly and outgoing – we instantly felt at ease. We really loved her process and how involved we were in the creation of our ceremony – she can really accommodate anything and we were thrilled with how everything turned out. Our ceremony was absolutely perfect, and so many of our guests said it was one of the most heartfelt ceremonies they had ever attended. At the rehearsal and on the day of she did an amazing job of not only coordinating but keeping everyone laughing and smiling. Marie was such a joy to work with and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ceremony. We can’t recommend her enough!

Marie was so happy and upbeat from the moment we met her to the last good bye at our wedding. When we had asked for vendors that we needed in a short time she immediately got back to us with fabulous recommendations. Each time we contacted her she took the time to answer all of our questions. On our wedding day she made everyone feel at ease and she made it very personal and family oriented. She is a smart funny lady who deserves to win anything that comes along! Anyone that can make you laugh on one of the most stressful days certainly deserves a gold medal too! Thank you Marie!

After speaking with Marie on the phone the first time we decided she was the one! We had a unique situation and were getting legally married with a small group of family/friends. Marie was supportive the entire time. She personalized the ceremony for us and even recommended a few locations that would accommodate elderly family members.We needed to change the time of the ceremony due to our family and Marie was flexible with our changing schedule. The most memorable part of the experience was the ceremony she wrote for us. She made us laugh and really captured the spirit of our relationship. We are having a larger ceremony for the rest of our family and friends in the Caribbean and we're hoping she can make the journey to help us renew our vows!

Marie was exceptional in her professionalism. She actually wore a Go Pro Hero Helmet cam on her head during our ceremony! That's right, she video taped our ceremony with a head band HD cam! Even though it messed up her hair, She was terrific. That was only the beginning. It rained, it was windy. we had no idea where to get married. we ended up in a beautiful back yard of a local Mystic couple facing the Seaport, and totally winged it.

It was perfect, it was what we wanted, we didn't plan it. it was the most memorable day we could have imagined. We couldn't have done it without Marie. Thank you so much!

Kevin and I loved Marie's enthusiasm and excitement when officiating our ceremony. Our guests found her engaging and humorous. We really appreciated her insight and assistance in the preparation of our vows. Marie simply "rocked" and we are grateful for a day to remember! Hail to the J!

Marie was incredible from start to finish! SUPER attentive and quick to respond to any questions we had. (There were lots!)
Our rehearsal and ceremony was absolutely flawless and many of of guests told us how wonderful Marie was and how much they loved the ceremony. Some people also told us that if they were to renew their vows, they want her to do it!

Marie is an excellent and professional officiant! We loved her from the moment we first spoke with her on the phone. Her positive energy is instantly contagious and she made us relaxed and confident immediately. We spoke and met with her a couple of times before our wedding to get to know each other and talk about what we wanted for the ceremony. Marie provided us with some options for style of ceremony and easily incorporated some special things we really wanted to include. Her experience is great, she has a plethora of ceremony styles and options. Our family and friends all loved her as well. She added fun and sparkle to the ceremony and her caring nature is instantly evident and unsurpassed. I recommend her highly!

Just went to my brothers wedding at the Mystic Village. The service was excellent, and she was so funny she put even my nervous brother at ease. I almost want to remarry my husband just to have her officiate our wedding.

Marie Tyler Wiley was excellent. Before our ceremony she sent us a questionnaire to get to know us. She used the answers that we sent to create our ceremony & vows. She was spot on, it was amazing! I couldn’t believe how well she got to know us from those questions! She even joked around & made us laugh, which I had let her know, was important to me. I love to laugh & did not want an overly serious ceremony. My husband & I had decided to elope before our honeymoon and all of our eloping destinations/ideas were falling through. We let Marie know & she offered us her own small boat to take the two of us out on. For us it was PERFECT! My husband & I had met on a ferry that we take to work every day & we were cruising for our honeymoon. Eloping on Marie’s boat was the best way we could have been married. Marie has the best personality for being a Justice of the Peace- she’ll be as involved as you want her to be. For us, we really didn’t want a big deal & she was totally understanding of that. Talking to her you can tell that she loves the big stuff. She loves weddings, but she was able to come down to our level of casualness as well. You can just tell with her that she really enjoys celebrating people in love. We were both completely comfortable with her as our JOP & would highly recommend her to anyone looking to have a wedding- big or very small! She is known to be a popular JOP in southeastern CT, however for our small ceremony we were able to book with her just a week & a half in advance, so don’t let that dissuade you from contacting her.

Marie was the BESTTTTT!!!! I think that having her was the best part of my entire wedding...shes so nice and personable fun enthusiastic caring ...if your stressed or worried she takes care of everything....and she knows everyone.... shes worth every penny. everyone complimented her at my wedding saying how good she was. she makes your wedding ceremony so memorable, she includes you and lets you read over things and edit them and add to it and take from it... she makes it unique and individualized. shes excellent with name pronounciations.....shes a definate must have if you want to remember your actual ceremony.......and to top it all off my favorite part...she even helped me get my dress on.....complete sweetheart. this is her calling with out a doubt...xoxoxoxoxoxo

I can not begin to explain what a wonderful person and what an absolutely amazing wedding officiant Marie is. I can not image a more perfect wedding ceremony than the one Marie lead for my wife and I. Marie also married my brother and sister in law in 2010 so she is now somewhat of a family tradition! She made our ceremony so personal and beautiful. There wasn't a dry eye! So many people came up to us after and said "I don't ever cry at weddings, but..." She works with you to write it so you can really make it your own. Marie is also available for you for advice, suggestions and help along the way. She has truly found her calling, I can't imagine anyone better to preform our wedding!

Oh how we love Marie. When I had first emailed her, we decided to meet up. What I thought was a quick visit turned into an hour and half conversation with what seemed liked a long lost friend. Marie has the personality to make everyone feel comfortable. My husband did not meet her until the rehearsal, and in the car on the way home he explained how we had picked the perfect JP, someone to make our special day the best it could be. Marie helped me with any question I had, even if it had nothing to do with JP related events. She helped me with florist to hotel information. She wrote the perfect ceremony for us, and everyone thought it was wonderful. I only have the best to say about Marie in every way. No one can compare.

Marie was one of our most responsive and flexible vendors and we really appreciated having her guidance. She let us edit the ceremony as much as we wanted beforehand, which was really great. Marie was amazing to work with. From day one, she put us at ease in knowing that there would be one huge thing, the ceremony, that we would not have to worry about. Marie was available as many times as we needed for questions, suggestions, feedback, revisions, and anything else we needed her for. She was also a fantastic resource for the other aspects of the wedding (she helped us pick an awesome DJ) since she has done so many weddings.
Bottom line, having Marie as our officiant was the best decision. She made our ceremony "ours". it was as if she has known us our entire lives....
Our guests comments afterwards such as "she was fantastic!", "wow, she really made the ceremony great!", "we've never been to such an amazing ceremony! Marie was amazing!" were all we needed to hear.
Hands down. She is the best!

I live in Texas, and decided that I wanted to have my big special day in Mystic, Connecticut. With having to travel so far, I wanted to make sure that my day would be everything that I wanted and more! I spent weeks researching locations and officiants. I saw that Marie Wiley was HIGHLY rated. In communicating with her, Marie and I had an instant friendship. She was so warm, and genuinely excited for us before we had even met! We were in contact for an entire year before my wedding. We communicated constantly, and she was good at getting back to me very quickly. In preparation for writing the ceremony, Marie sent a detailed "getting to know you" survey, that asked a lot of questions to really learn about us and our relationship. What did I get weeks later? The most BEAUTIFUL ceremony I could have asked for. Marie used so many details from our love story in the ceremony, and tied it together in such a way that I was blown away (and that was just from reading the word document!) On my big day, as we got married on the coast at our outdoor ceremony, it was so beautiful and perfect. She selected a private area for us to have our wedding, and it was just amazing. So beautiful! Marie was truly loving and genuine. She was so excited to see us, and made the day completely comfortable! Even though it was the first time meeting, it felt like I had known her for years. The best thing about Marie and what I fell in love with was her background. She became a wedding officiant after her and her husband's bad wedding experience. She said it was so short and not special that she wanted to make sure no one else had to go what they went through. She wants to make sure everyone she marries has the perfect day and something so unique and special. Marie definitely delivered. I have made a friend for life, and can't wait until we visit Mystic again so we can get together and see her again. HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend hiring Marie. If you've thought about anyone else, just reach out and talk to her. You will see that she is more than worth it and you won't give it a second though. Marie is a fantastic person and really cares about making your day what you want. She is extremely easy to work with and allowed us to adjust/tweak the ceremony as we saw fit. She also has so much wedding experience that she can provide advice. As a lesbian couple, we were mixing tradition with some of our own ideas. Marie had an excellent suggestion on how to incorporate our moms into the processional. It worked great and made both moms feel special. We received many compliments about the ceremony and Marie. We recommend working with her, you won't be disappointed.

I knew Marie was special from the moment I met her. I met her at a Bridal Expo and she just had an amazing personality and incredible presence. We loved having her as our officiant. Due to my husband and I not wanting to marry in a church, I was very skeptical about finding someone who could perform a ceremony that would not only touch us, but our families and friends as well. After talking on the phone with Marie, my husband and I knew she was the one. We met with her well before our wedding day, reviewed all the details and she wrote our ceremony exactly the way we wanted. She even included little details about things happening in our lives before and during our relationship. The day came and our ceremony was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Marie quickly became more than our "officiant". Her sense of humor and warm smile helped us to relax and enjoy the day. We had waited 28 years to be legally married and she helped make it MORE than perfect. She welcomed any changes we made to our ceremony because she truly wanted it to become OURS. We live out of state and Marie helped us find everything from the perfect florist to where to have our perfect celebratory lunch. Her suggestion of photographer was, again, perfect! Marie was a gem! Being that my partner and I were planning our entire wedding from our home in Mexico - Marie was incredibly helpful, very flexible, and the perfect officiant to our wedding. Since we're both theater fans - our wedding was held at the Eugene O'Neill Theater complex in Waterford - and Marie provided the perfect amount of "theatricality" (Gleek word...) with warmth and sincerity and a tremendous amount of good energy to make our day unforgettable. Our family and friends still talk about her! I still hear some of the words she spoke during the ceremony...and will be forever grateful to her for agreeing to officiate at our wedding! She has such a sense of humor and passion for what she does that even if you were nervous, she eases your fears. She helped us with any part of the wedding plans and guided us when we weren't sure what to do! Our guests loved her and our ceremony was unique and customized-exactly how we wanted it. She even mingled with our friends and family at the rehearsal dinner as well as after the ceremony. She continues to offer her support and friendship to us. We recommend Marie for anyone who truly wants a ceremony to remember. She WILL make it what you've dreamed of. We love you Marie and thank you for marrying us-from the bottom of our hearts!

Marie was amazing. She was quick to respond to our initial inquiry and really talked with Jeremy and I. She got to know each one of us and wrote more than one ceremony. Each ceremony was unique to us and we were able to cut and piece them together to make the perfect ceremony!!!! Her comfortable and outgoing personality made this wonderful and special day, relaxing. We would highly recommend Marie as a wedding officiant and would not have had our ceremony any other way!! Thank you Marie for helping make our day truly wonderful.

Marie really made my day memorable. She was friendly, down to earth, professional, and simply great. I asked her to choose the ceremony appropriate for me and my husband and her pick was impeccable. We had a sand ceremony and words from the ceremony by the sea. The ceremony was filled with wisdom and metaphor, it was beautiful. Marie was terrific! She has the greatest, most fun-loving personality and fit right in with everyone, from the wedding party to my grandparents. She sat with some of the groomsmen at the rehearsal dinner and there was nothing but laughter coming from that side of the table! Other guests commented that she was funny, and that the ceremony was original.

We decided to go with a Justice of the Peace because I'm Christian and my husband is Jewish. We gave Marie a few other details about ourselves on her questionnaire, and she gave us some sample ceremonies. We were able to develop a custom ceremony that reflected our personalities.

Looking back, I couldn't imagine anyone else officiating on our special day. Thanks Marie!

We can not thank Marie enough for performing our ceremony. Marie allowed us to customize the ceremony so that it was really all about us. My husband and I had a wonderful time designing our ceremony. Marie was always excited for us and never made us feel like our numerous questions where bothering her. She is such a genuine person and really cares for those she is marrying. She was so organized! She ran our rehearsal with no problems and fit right in with our wedding party. We highly recommend Marie to anyone getting married that needs a genuine officiant that really cares for her couples.

After looking into a few different wedding officiants, it only took one meeting with Marie to know she was the woman for the job! Upon meeting, my husband and I both felt comfortable and relaxed with Marie, which we knew was a great sign as we wanted our ceremony to feel the same, lighthearted and easygoing. Our ceremony turned out wonderfully, Marie gave us the option of three tailored ceremonies, from which we cut/paste, and revised to create exactly what we wanted. Marie was supportive through the whole process. She is enthusiastic and really loves what she does. We would definitely recommend Marie!!

Mary Wiley was the PERFECT JP for our wedding. We're in our mid-60's and wanted someone special to conduct our wedding ceremony - not the impersonal, boring sort of service that we'd been to so many times. Mary sent us tons of suggested poems and other ideas to tailor our wedding to our desires. While a small wedding of 30 friends and family, they are typical New Yorkers - not afraid to voice their opinions (been there, done that). Literally everyone said it was the best service they'd ever attended. It was solemn in part, but personalized and fun in other areas. Marie sensed how nervous we were & pulled us back into reality by her words and her joy. That's what I remember the most - the sheer joy she brought to our special day. I'd say that she has this down pat and is a very engaging professional who will put a spark into anyone's wedding day. No one could want for more! Marie Wiley justly deserves her #1 rating in CT for the past 3 years.

A few years ago, my mom went to a wedding and came back raving about the officiant who had done the ceremony. "It was so personal...It felt as if she had known them for years! I LOVED it." So, when I got engaged a few years later and decided to get married at a vineyard, my mom recommended I call the amazing officiant she had told me about. My first conversation with Marie pretty much sealed the deal. She was outgoing, funny and by the end of our 45 minute phone call, I felt like we were bff's. The preparation for the ceremony was simple...we filled out a questionnaire, sent it back to her, and she sent us 3 sample ceremonies. It took me awhile to piece together a ceremony that worked for us but she provided a great foundation for me to work off of. Although there were a few instances where MTW took awhile to respond to my emails, I never felt stressed or not taken care of. My husband and I also wanted one of our cousins to be a part of the ceremony as well and Marie was totally cool with that. She even let our cousin do the vow part of our ceremony which was so special and meant the world to us. The ceremony was flawless and she really made us feel at ease. One of the most memorable moments was when, in the middle of the outdoor ceremony, it started raining...hard. Without hesitation or panic, MTW calmly (and with her wonderful sense of humor) asked the guests if we should movie the ceremony inside. We took a brief 5 minute intermission while we all trekked across the field to the tent set up for cocktail hour. The rest of the ceremony felt so intimate as all our friends and family were standing in a half circle around us. it was perfect.

Marie performed our ceremony and did a fantastic job. We chose her mostly because we were able to help write the ceremony. Those that could hear the ceremony gave us a lot of compliments. She was funny and upbeat and it was very well-written.

We had an outdoor ceremony and the rain plan was a tent. Well it down poured for the entire ceremony - the loudest part during our vows. I had asked Marie if she needed a mic a few weeks prior and she said no. Under normal circumstances, she wouldn't have needed one. However, because of the rain, friends that were seated in the 4th row couldn't hear a word. That was unfortunate because we spent a lot of time and energy putting the ceremony together and so many of our guests didn't hear any of it. I should have insisted.

Marie & I wrote a lot of e-mails back and forth and there were a few times that I had to write her a second or third follow-up (these were early on - the few weeks before, she was completely on-point).

All in all, I would absolutely recommend her and she did perform a beautiful ceremony. It's just a shame that so many couldn't hear it.

We can't imagine a more perfect choice for our officiant than Marie Wiley. She was a wonderful person to work with. All of our communications prior to the wedding were easy, thoughtful and smooth. She helped design a wonderful ceremony that was personal and surpassed our expectations. We greatly appreciated her constant communication and updates during the process. Marie was our officiant in our October 2015 wedding. My husband and I were looking for someone that could bring life, love, and laughter to our ceremony and we are happy to say we found the perfect person. Marie was so warm and welcoming from the time we met her she made us feel like we've known her for years! She worked with us to develop a ceremony that was upbeat, and filled with laughs. Marie was great! We received many comments on how wonderful they thought our ceremony was. If you're looking for someone to take the edge off and help relax the crowd, Marie's your girl. She is quite talkative, but she doesn't overdo it during the ceremony.

Marie was a great fit for my ceremony. I had a small group at my wedding and Marie was able to include everyone, and keep the mood happy and fun. She also went out of her way to travel to Rhode Island and had a good time. I would recommend her, especially for young couples or small groups.

Marie was great from the start and tended to my last minute details. She is very energetic and entertaining. Everyone really enjoyed the rehearsal and her company. We tried to meet with Marie before the wedding to sort out minor details on how we wanted the ceremony presented but she was unfortunately no where to be found come time to meet. SO our first meeting was at the rehearsal which went well. During our actual wedding ceremony (which I clearly wanted to keep classy and sophisticated) Marie kept randomly referring to us as "girlfriend" and "boyfriend" which highly irritated us, our parents and several other family members who are still talking about it. It gave the ceremony a non-classy, we're not serious about getting married vibe which was unfortunate. Overall, if you want spunk and uniqueness to you wedding ceremony, Marie is right for you.

At first, Marie seemed like a very warm, loving person who cares a lot about her clients. I really thought she was going to do a great job. Unfortunately, things did not go according to plan.

Marie performed the wrong ceremony at our wedding. Instead of reading the personalized ceremony that my fiancé and I had written, she read one of her templates. The ceremony ended up being very generic, and honestly, kind of weird. She asked a random guest to come up and read an Apache love poem (no, we're not Native American). She teased us during the ceremony about our exceptionally long engagement. When it came time to recite the (incorrect) vows, she repeatedly criticized me for not speaking loud enough, even though I was trying not to cry and make a scene in front of everyone. I tried to whisper “This isn’t the right ceremony” several times throughout the ceremony, but she wasn’t paying attention to me. She was more concerned with cracking jokes and making the guests laugh. Marie has a very strong personality, and I felt that she tried to upstage us at our own wedding!

When the ceremony was over, I asked her why she didn't perform the right ceremony. She actually started arguing with my fiancé and me! She insisted that she didn't read the wrong thing, and wouldn't admit she was mistaken until showed her the email that contained a copy of our ceremony. In the end, she gave $100 back to one of my groomsmen, and sent us an apology email. I was a little offended that she didn't offer us a full refund or even call us to apologize.

Overall, I think she's a nice person, but I would never recommend her to anyone. She needs to be more careful about reading the right ceremony, or at least be willing to admit fault and apologize when necessary. Nothing will ever change the fact that I didn’t get to say “I do!” at my wedding, but an apology would have gone a long way.
