Like many couples, our wedding was delayed a handful of times due to the pandemic. Kim Bakke - A Cottage Gardener and our Venue were the only two vendors that we were able to hold onto throughout our whole wedding planning process due to the devastating affects the pandemic had on the wedding industry during those few years. Kim knew my vision right away (moody Pacific Northwest vibes), and worked with my husband and I to bring it to life despite Paul and I needing to work within a limited budget. Kim's creativity is truly spectacular; floral design is just a part of her it feels like, and she's so passionate and talented. At one point, we even considered eloping and Kim insisted that if we did do that she wanted to make my bouquet for me. How many wedding vendors do you know that are that personally invested in your day? She truly cares about each of her couples. I even contacted Kim more than once to ask her opinion on decor unrelated to florals, and she was happy to share with me her expertise. I'm not a super sappy person, but on our wedding day, when Kim handed me my bouquet I actually got fairly emotional. She works magic, and I can't recommend her enough. -

I cannot express in words how amazing A Cottage Gardener is. Kim and her team exceeded any and all expectations I had—I was so happy with their work I wanted to cry! Flowers can completely transform a space and she captured my vision and aesthetic so perfectly. I will be forever grateful for my experience with A Cottage Gardener! I promise you will find that hiring her is one of the best things you can do for your wedding day. I could not have asked for a better experience!

Beautiful and thinks big
Kim is so talented - she knows florals in and out and is truly an artist. If you're looking for someone to slap together simple centerpieces and stick them on your table because you're not into florals.... you don't need Kim. If you love what florals can do to a space and are delighted by the idea of working with someone with great vision, who will make any of your ideas WAY better, then you need Kim! Transparently, I did increase my florals budget in order to execute on some of the ideas we discussed but I knew they were going to transform the space and they absolutely did. I also trusted her with all candles so she could bring it all to life holistically and it was absolutely magical. -

I could not have asked for a better artist to create our wedding florals than Kim and the Cottage Gardener team. She is truly an expert in her craft, and knew all the right questions to ask to understand and execute our vision perfectly. She was incredibly flexible, and very mindful of budget, which was very important to us.
When our wedding day finally arrived, the florals were breathtaking! We got so many compliments from guests, and I could not stop staring at all of the gorgeous arrangements. Our wedding day was truly a fairytale, and A Cottage Gardener made sure it looked like one!

Absolutely stunning and talented florist
Kim is absolutely INCREDIBLE. Her talent is stunning and without a doubt, if you have her as your florist, your florals will make your wedding day. While my husband and I were married in a garden setting, I knew I needed even more flowers and that they would be the most important element. To say Kim understood my vision and delivered is an understatement. Looking at each photo from the day, my friends and family all comment on how different and stunning they were. As a COVID bride, I had to delay my wedding from Sept to July, and going from one season to another completely derailed my original vision. Kim was SO easy to work with and really stepped in to put me at ease with ideas and color schemes and what she came up with truly made my wedding day even more incredible. I can not say enough good things about Kim and her team and how warm , easy going, and incredibly talented they are. If you chose Kim, she will make all your dreams come true! -

Kim was my absolute most favorite part of our wedding. She was incredible! The vision she brought to our day absolutely brought the rooms to life, and perfectly encapsulated our wedding "vibe". A Cottage Gardener is who you go to for your wedding when you want every detail handled for flowers and candles. Kim communicated with us several times throughout the year, was amazing when we thought we may need a backup date and very flexible, and finally, HIGHLY knowledgable about her craft. She did not overpromise, she overdelivered in every aspect. We truly wish we could live in a field of Kim's flowers for the rest of our lives. -

Angela Sent on 10/29/2017Wow! Kim is AMAZING! She made our wedding so beautiful and whimsical. It was better then I could have ever imagined. I am still receiving so many compliments on how beautiful our wedding was; and that was mostly due to Kim! Our venue was beautiful on its own, but required a lot of creativity to kind of bring it to life and make it the best it could be. Kim certainly did not disappoint, and I will never forget the way she made the entire space feel; and the impact she had on our special day! She is truly the best!

In our first meeting, it was obvious that she thought a lot about the concepts and visions that I had of a perfect wedding and then she led all of it to fruition. Her insight and desire to "get it right" was impeccable. The arrangements that she made for the wedding and the head pieces for the wedding party were not only breathtaking, but so well thought out with our specific theme. She also was able to ask me questions throughout the process of things I never considered when planning a wedding. She assured that the day was perfect for us! Thank you again Kim for your amazing vision and wonderful presence. -

Kim is a true ARTIST. I'm a visual person by profession and I had a lot of ideas about what I wanted for the enchanted, secret garden wedding for 30 people I was throwing together as our third attempt at having a wedding (thanks Covid!).
Kim took what I wanted and raised the ANTE a hundred-fold. Everything she touched became stunning, enchanting, whimsical, and elegant. To this day, I can't even pinpoint the color scheme she created because it was so nuanced, textured, varied, and SPECIAL. Her floral and greenery creations illustrated what we all were feeling the whole day -- MAGIC in the air.
Thank you SO MUCH, Kim, we will never forget it.

We knew right away we wanted to work with ACG - from our first conversation with Kim, you could tell she's something special. She personally invests herself into every wedding, but does so in a way that brings alive the vision of the couple she's working with. It's not a copy-and-paste process. Kim understood our goal of autumnal enchantment, with deep fall hues, whimsically carved pumpkins, and magic all around. She made the most beautiful flower arch that was a showstopper ceremony background. She worked tirelessly to find someone that would do beautiful carvings on giant white pumpkins. My hairpiece looked like it belonged to a Fall Woodland Nymph! It was beyond my expectations. All of the guests couldn't stop raving about the flowers that night, and in the weeks since. I treasured working with Kim and her boundless creative spirit. She has a deep passion for floral magic, and designing unforgettable weddings with texture and color and everything else flowers bring into this world!!! -

Kim was very helpful in figuring out my color scheme, flow, etc. There were times when I felt like my suggestions/preferences were being ignored or not taken into consideration, which was a little frustrating. Kim also made a couple comments about my budget not being very big, which was very frustrating because I was spending everything I could on my flowers - I had saved up as much money as I could. She also called me the day before the wedding when it looked like rain on the day to say she didn't know what to do about an indoor setup, and was asking me all kinds of questions about how she should/would set up indoors. As I wasn't sure myself, because we had planned for an outdoor ceremony, I did not know what to tell her and she was frusrated with me. The flowers did turn out beautifully, although my bridesmaids' bouquets were much smaller than we'd discussed/than I'd paid for. I would recomment A Cottage Gardener to anyone with a large budget, who likes boho/romantic style. -

Tracey Sent on 10/10/2022$6,000 Deposit still held for Wedding cancelled 2X due to Covid.
VERY UNHAPPY ..$6,000 deposit still held by A Cottage Gardener - They are the only vendor who did not provide a refund to us for a wedding that had to be cancelled TWICE due to COVID. My daughter was a medical student in Philly at the time and had to move out of state last May and could not reschedule. We have tried to settle this matter, however $6,000 is still in the hands of A Cottage Gardener!
