Best birthday cake Ever

I live in Florida and my son is stationed at Tripler Army base for the next 4 years. This was the first time I missed his birthday but I needed to get him a very special cake to celebrate his 20TH year of life. The ordering process was so easy and the cake was breathtaking. It was stunning and decorated to perfection. Thank you so much for making his birthday so very special.

So Delicious!

I still dream about our amazing wedding cake- a devil’s food cake with cookies n cream frosting!! I swear I want to go back to Hawaii just to pick up a replica of this cake to devour! We also got cake shooters, cake pops, and chocolate covered strawberries that were also amazing! I am so happy I booked with A Cake Life!

We wanted a simple but Hawaiian style cake for after our small beach wedding ceremony. A Cake Life had exactly what we wanted. Kristin Kato made ordering easy. Beautiful and delicious!

This place is EVERYTHING! They were super accommodating. They worked diligently to ensure that my expectations were able to be accommodated. I sent them an inspiration picture and they nailed it. Out bottom layer was coconut, pineapple and buttercream; it was tropical and not too sweet.

We decided to go with cookies n cream for our top layer because we froze it for our anniversary. It was packaged well and we traveled from Honolulu to Illinois without damaging the cake.

They also provided the flower for the top of the cake.

Dessert Bar was a hit

We opted for a dessert bar for our wedding and it was a huge hit. All the desserts were delicious and they looked incredible. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. The staff was really helpful when selecting what all we wanted. Great experience

Absolutely Delicious

We're so happy to have A Cake Life be part of our special day! We were able to have a cake sampler bento box to try before deciding on our wedding cake flavor, and it was so hard because they all were so delicious! They have a wonderful dessert table package which all our guests loved. I highly recommend A Cake Life!

I highly recommend A Cake Life for your wedding or event! We had a destination wedding on Oahu and despite living in a different time zone, Kristin was easy to communicate with and made the entire process seamless. Her creativity and artistry are unmatched. She created a beautiful custom design for our wedding cake in our wedding color palette and set up an amazing dessert bar display of assorted items, such as monogram macarons and cupcakes with flower petal icing. Beautiful and delicious!

The entire process from beginning to end was so easy. Kristin responded quickly to my email and we were able to set up a pick-up date for her sample box! It was so hard to choose which flavor we wanted (they were all SO YUMMY) but you can pick different flavors for each tier which I was happy to hear! In the end, we decided to go with guava and lilikoi. We opted for a pretty simple design and just had our florist add on the cascade of flowers and our cake topper. It turned out so beautiful and I couldn't be happier about it!

We saved the top tier for us to eat on our 1 year anniversary, I can hardly wait to eat it again (=

Wedding Cake and Dessert Bar---Take us back!

Most Delicious Wedding Cake

Super delicious wedding cake and cupcake for my wedding! We were able to pick 2 flavors, guava for the top tier and strawberry cream for the second tier. Decor was exactly how I described and pictured it. Cupcakes were great too! 24 cupcakes with icing on top.

Delicious Desserts for Everyone!

We were fortunate enough to have our wedding prior to this pandemic and were so grateful to have A Cake Life serve our wedding cake and desserts! We chose one of their dessert packages to accommodate all of our guests. We enjoyed meeting with Kristin prior to our big day to do a tasting and see what design options were possible. Honestly, they can do almost anything you can dream of! Kristin drew us up a design on the spot and made it come to life on our wedding day! Everything was delicious and looked great at our venue! We only wish we would have had more or leftovers to take home and enjoy again after! We have since ordered other cakes and desserts from A Cake Life for other birthdays and holidays to help us celebrate and have been pleased with all of our orders. If you are looking for something fun to do during the shutdown, they do offer cute cookie decorating kits that are fun for everyone!

Perfection

Our cake was so beautiful and tasted incredible. They were so easy to work with as we were planning from the mainland. They made the process so easy and even opened their doors to us to pickup our cake on a Monday (as they’re typically closed) since that was the day of our wedding. I couldn’t have asked for better customer service. Our cake was perfect and I can’t recommend them enough!

Dream Team

I love a A Cake Life! Not only do I love their desserts, but I loved their team. I'm not a huge dessert person, but I knew my guests were so I needed to find the best dessert team available. They came highly recommended and now I know why. Not only are their desserts delicious, but their designs are amazing. Take a look at their instagram and you can see the craftsmanship. As someone who is not a dessert person, but loves artistry, I just knew i would get the perfect dessert bar.

I decided to go unconventional and created a Harry Potter-themed wedding bar. I helped supply some of the decor and they delivered on the designed desserts. Everything looked amazing. My guests got amazing desserts and I got a beautiful display. It's probably the most memorable moments of my wedding and the one that I'm most proud of because out of all the basic wedding shenanigans, the dessert bar really showed who my husband and i were as characters. Thank you A Cake Life! And thank you Kristin for coming to our wedding to help set up. This lady had surgery the day of my wedding and she still made it to make sure the design turned out flawless. Talk about dedication and love for her job!

The best lilikoi cake ever

THE BEST TASTING CAKE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! Not exaggerating!! We ordered strawberry shortcake and lilikoi and I can't stop thinking about that cake! I'm not ordering cakes through anyone else except A CAKE LIFE!!! I have birthdays coming up and we're definitely going to be ordering the lilikoi cake again! That was our absolute favorite!

I also gave Kristin creative control over the cake for my wedding! I loved the semi naked look with blush drizzle! Completely perfect!

Did not want a complicated cake and they made it easy.

A Cake Life made a three tier cake for our July wedding and it was great to work with them. They knew the venue and wedding planner well, were extremely fast to respond to emails and questions, understood what we wanted for a simple design and made a cake that looked and tasted great on the day.

If I could do it again, I might have just asked for slightly less icing on the outside of the cake, it came it at nearly 2 inches thick and most people had to scrape a bit off. I wasn’t able to do a tasting with the company as I don’t live on the island so I can’t fault the company for this, I’m sure if I had asked for it they would have happily accommodated.

Our cake was a piece of art! And delicious too!

Kristin from A Cake Life was the best! We did a destination wedding in Hawaii and didn't taste a thing prior to ordering, but ordered a coconut cake with guava cream frosting and it was outstanding, everyone loved it. We did a small decorated cake for ourselves and the cake cutting and then ordered a large, pre-cut sheet cake for our guests. We had a fishy theme so I asked her to create edible triggerfish cake toppers. I sent her some artistic pictures of what I had in mind. It was a masterpiece!!! She had crafted them, complete with scales and vibrant colors. Kristin and her staff are artists. If the cake wasn't so delicious I would have had a hard time wanting to eat their beautiful creation. We ate the leftovers poolside the next morning. Highly recommend A Cake Life for any event!

Amazing and delicious!

Kristin was amazing! I was so busy during the wedding day that I didn’t get a chance to see the dessert table until the reception when everyone else saw it and I was blown away! Best Dessert Caterer!

For my husband and I, it was not about the look of the cake or the layout of the dessert spread. It was about how great everything tasted. We decided to go with A Cake Life because they had nothing but great reviews. Mind you, we were going in blindly at first because our wedding was a destination wedding.

About a year from our wedding (we were in Hawaii for a wedding anyway), we booked a tasting with ACL through their website and we chose about 6 of their signature flavors to try. The worst part was narrowing down the flavors to what we wanted because each flavor tasted so good! They weren’t too sweet or too heavy either! Kristin also designed the cake based on what our vision was—as we were talking she was already drawing and coloring. She also designed the layout for the dessert spread right then and there also.

We went with a MIDI Dessert Table: a 2-tier cake, cupcakes, mango crème brulees, cake shooters, donuts, and macarons. Everyone could not stop talking about the dessert! ESPECIALLY the macarons! They were the best macarons we’ve ever had!

We loved that ACL was within our budget and that they were flexible. When they came out with the mango crème brulees, we e-mailed them right away if we could do a swap out of something and they were able to accommodate. They are very responsive by e-mail also.

We loved working with ACL and we would highly recommend them for anyone looking for great tasting desserts and cake that work with your budget!

Gorgeous AND delicious!

Planning a wedding remotely from Australia was a challenge within itself but choosing A Cake Life for our cake vendor (referred by Luana Events) was a fantastic decision. Our cake was simple as requested, SO delicious I wish we could have taken it all home to enjoy after the wedding. After following A Cake Life on Instagram we saw what incredible work they're capable of and decided to order these ADORABLE pineapple cookies to add to the welcome kits made for our wedding guests. It was easy to correspond, pay and pick up the cookies and have the wedding cake and topper delivered without a hitch! 3 tiered naked cake

We did a destination wedding so we were unable to do a taste-test, but A Cake Life was among the recommendations from our wedding coordinators. We ordered the strawberries and cream and lolikoi cake for our wedding of 122 guests. It was a very beautiful naked cake consisting of 3 tiers. We didn’t get to try the lolikoi cake, but the strawberries and cream cake was light and good. Not the greatest cake I have tasted, definitely not memorable, but it was fine.

Everything was delicious

The people I worked with were very nice. Our cake turned out beautifully and everything tasted amazing! I was worried because you always hear that bigger cakes are dry, but not this one. Every bit was delicious, especially the butter cake with Lilakoi frosting.

Incredible cake! You MUST try the guava!

A Cake Life was awesome from our first time sending them an email to delivering the cake to our venue. They were easy to work with, understood our vision, and most importantly have delicious cake!! The tasting was great - we got to try all their flavors and ate every last bit. They were super great in working with our unusual cake toppers and making sure we got them back at the end. They delivered the cake and set it up beautifully. We go so many compliments on the cupcakes that came with our package - people loved the decoration of them and flavors!

Delicious & pretty!

If you are looking for a cake that is not only DELICIOUS, but also BEAUTIFUL, please look no further. In regards to taste - My husband and I had gone to a few cake tastings for our wedding prior to finding Kristin and her team, but as soon as we tasted her assortment of flavors, our decision was immediately made! They use real fruit, which makes a huge difference. My only regret is not ordering more - our guests wiped out the entire dessert bar within minutes!

As far as presentation? My husband is a big Star Wars fan, so we ended up getting a laser cut cake topper from Etsy. In all honesty, the cake topper was not very pretty, and looked a little dorky, but I left it up to Kristin and her team to see what they could do with it. Fast forward to the day of, I absolutely LOVED the finished product! I wasn't sure if they'd be able to make our cake look classy with an R2D2 cake topper, but they pulled it off! If you go with A Cake Life, know you are in the best hands. Thank you Kristin & Team!!

Delicious Wedding Cake and Mini Dessert!

Kristin from A Cake Life got our wedding cake vision into reality. They made our destination wedding a breeze when she got our vision at one visit. We were able to try different kind of flavors for our wedding cake when we visited Oahu a year before our wedding. We went for 2 tier semi naked cake with gold drips on top tier, and strawberry n’ cream filling. It was to die for! I want more please! We also had dozens of mini donuts, mini succulent cupcakes, and macaroons which were all delicious!

Kristin hardly needs any more reviews - she's at the top of her game in Honolulu, and we're so glad we went with her. We had a great consultation about design, in which she listened carefully to our aesthetic and engaged with us as a partner, not as a salesperson, which is just ideal. She used her expertise to suggest do's and don't's with our design. Cake that looks AND tastes good!

We were very happy with our cake from A Cake Life. We told Kristen exactly what we wanted, and she totally delivered. Our cake was beautiful—exactly as we envisioned—and tasted so good too. Everyone loved it. We did two tiers with two different flavors of cake and filling. We wanted a semi-naked cake with white cake on the bottom, and marbled cake on the top, and we were a little worried that the difference in cake color would show through. However, Kristin eased our worries when we spoke with her and on the day of, the difference was not noticeable at all.

The only hiccup we had was that we were a little absentminded and did not realize that we needed to reserve a delivery spot as well (it was not automatically booked with the booking of a cake for the wedding day). Kristin was totally accommodating though and squeezed us into her already tight delivery schedule. We are so thankful to her for doing this for us and for, overall, making our day so special.

I would definitely book with A Cake Life again. :)

I live in California and searched around online for a place on Oahu, there are several but no one has Kristin! We are the RUBIOs and tied the knot on July 22nd, 2017. We hired A Cake Life to bake and design our 4 tier wedding cake and were so happy with the outcome! Ahead of time we met with Kristine for a cake tasting then finalized our design that same day. Our flavors were butter cake with butter cream filling (top tier), marble cake with oreo cookie cream, guava cake with strawberry cream, and orange cream cake with orange dream cream. The orange cream cake was our wedding guest best flavor! We loved that vibrant orange color that we cut into during the cake cutting ceremony. Our overall experience with A Cake Life was outstanding! The details on the wedding cake were perfect, from the design, to the cascade of flower arrangements, and custom cake topper that said - 'The Rubios'. It was a beautiful cake and we look forward to ordering future anniversary cakes!

The hardest thing was going to our tasting and having to decide which cake flavors to go with, because it was all amazing! We had a May wedding, and ended up having yellow cake with alternating tiers of strawberry and lilikoi filling (I cannot say enough about the lilikoi filling, it was seriously amazing). The cake arrived at the perfect time, tasted amazing, and looked even better than we were imagining! The cake size/serving guide on their website was also incredibly helpful, and we ended up having the perfect size for our number of guests. Though I almost wish we'd gotten a bigger cake, just so I had more leftovers to eat!

We hired A Cake Life for our destination wedding. We were lucky enough to visit Oahu to plan our wedding, and there we met Kristin at a cake tasting/consultation session and we immediately loved her and her ideas. We ended up with a trio of cakes (Kristin's genius solution as we couldn't pinpoint what we wanted exactly) and a bunch of desserts (macarons, cookies, donuts, cupcakes, chocolate dipped strawberries...a crazy selection!). Kristin knew exactly what we wanted in terms of style and design. On the day of the wedding, Kristin came to set up and created the most amazing dessert table for us -- all our guests wow-ed and we still cannot get over how beautiful all of it was. Our desserts were gone before we could even get a taste of some of the desserts! However, we were lucky enough to taste our cakes and wow, our cakes looked AND tasted AMAZING. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kristin and her team -- what a wonderful selection of cakes and desserts. They tasted as good as they looked!!! Thank you so much, Kristin and team!!!

Yum yum yum! We had a small one tier Strawberries and Cream cake along with a variety of cupcakes. Everything was beautiful and delicious. The strawberries were fresh, and the cream inside the cupcakes was to die for. I was a little hesitant about having filling in cupcakes, but all the guests loved it! Also the cupcakes had a buttercream frosting that was shaped like flower petals, and the artistry was amazing! Many guests thought it was fondant since it was so well designed! They were almost to beautiful to eat...almost. :)

I ordered a cake for my destination wedding. I ordered a package that came with a two-tiered cake and 24 cupcakes. You could have different flavors in the tiers, but I chose the pineapple cream filled coconut cake for both layers as it sounded delicious. We had red velvet cream filled cupcakes and butter cake with strawberry cream filling and buttercream icing for the cupcakes. Working with A Cake Life was very easy, I sent pictures of what I wanted and Kristen let me know if it was within my price point. The cake that she made was exactly like the picture I showed her and exactly what I wanted. It was moist and delicious. It was so good that I decided to take the bottom layer which went untouched, on my nine hour flight home two days later. I did not have the ability to refrigerate it during those two days or on the flight but the cake made it home and was just as good as on my wedding day. And I even got to save a couple of chunks for our anniversary. Everything was arranged via email and phone prior to my wedding. I arranged for drop off since I didn't feel comfortable transporting a cake. There was a mixup at the hotel, with the cake delivery. I left written instructions for the bell desk to open the penthouse I rented for A Cake Life to set up. The hotel let them into the wrong room. While I was down there telling the hotel manager that we were going to go into all the vacant rooms on my floor, Kristen and her assistant showed up to save the day! This was quite unexpected, and above and beyond great service. They were able to direct us to the room where the items were placed and then moved it all into my room. The error was on the hotel's part, as they were given the written information and did not follow through correctly. My husband and I are extremely grateful for Kristen's kindness in showing up to remedy the situation. Kristen was more upset than I was that the cake was temporarily "missing" and had tears to prove it. She exemplifies the "Aloha spirit"!

Kristin and her staff here are absolutely amazing! I set up a consult & cake testing with her and it was quick and easy. I had one picture of what I wanted, but didn't know anything else going into my consult. She graciously answered all of my questions and helped me determine what style, shape, etc I would need to ensure my guests could enjoy their delicious cakes! We had a 3 tier cake, and we got to make each tier a different flavor! Definitely a plus - I was not expecting to be given that option! She also made a groom's cake for my husband, which he loved! We got so many compliments on both cakes as well as how delicious it was! A Cake Life is definitely the place you'll want to book for your cake whether it's for a wedding, groom's cake, birthday cake - whatever! They make delicious, beautiful cakes for every occasion!

Honestly, there may be a lot of wedding cake vendors out there that can make beautiful cakes, but Kristin's A Cake Life is the BEST cake vendor that can make both DELICIOUS & BEAUTIFUL wedding cakes. Although I was planning a destination wedding, I was lucky enough to go to her tasting and she was the very first vendor I picked (after my planner) because her cakes are so MOIST and DELICIOUS!!! I have guests still raving about the cupcakes that were served and they were all gone in an instant. lol You won't have to worry about take-home boxes because they will all be gone...that's how delicious they are. I really recommend A Cake Life if you want a delicious wedding cake that you will not only enjoy looking at, but also tasting!

Kristin did a phenomenal job with our wedding cake. We loved her guava cake with lilikoi frosting in a simple, 3-tiered design with cascading flowers. She was so responsive and flexible throughout the cake tasting and design process, even while I was planning from 5000 miles away.

The craziest part of our wedding was that a hurricane was slated to visit our ceremony and we moved the wedding up by one day. I don’t know how she did it, but Kristen make our entire cake along with the accompanying sheet cakes for 200 guests an entire day early, and it tasted and looked perfect! I can’t recommend her enough!

We planned our wedding from Australia so emails were a big part of our communication, only part actually. The responses were very quick, whenever I had an enquiry they replied promptly. We were able to pay via credit card with filling out an authorisation sheet. As we were in based in Australia we were unable to taste test the variety of flavours, we decided to go with chocolate and cookies and cream and Oreo. This was the best decision the cake was delicious, to perfection in every way. Our guest could not stop talking about our cake, everyone wanted seconds. The people at A Cake Life were able to recommend what size cake we needed for our wedding. We paid extra to have the cake delivered, as our wedding was outside and the because of the type of icing the cake was delivered around 7pm and on display for an hour before we cut it. I could not recommend A Cake Life highly enough, everything was perfect! I can still remember the taste, if I ever return to Hawaii I will definitely be checking out their bakery.

Easily the best decision we could have made. Our cake was devine, we had so many compliments from our guests and it was exactly what we wanted. We planned our wedding from Australia so I based choosing A Cake Life from reviews. And they were all so right! Yummy!!! Kristin was amazing! We were having a small destination wedding and I had pictures in my head of what I wanted our cakes to look like, and Kristin knocked it out of the park! Even though we only had 10 guest, we had enough cake to feed 100! And it was so tasty! My husband works at Nike so I wanted to surprise him with a groom's cake in the shape of a Nike Swoosh and it was a hit with everyone! Kristin was quick and easy to work with and I would definitely recommend her!

By far the easiest vendor to work with. I came to Kristin with some vague ideas and she quickly turned into the perfect design. When asked about cake toppers, my partner and I said we hadn't really thought about it, but maybe we could work pineapples into the design, since it was a common motif in our wedding? Kristin took that idea and ran with it, and made the absolute CUTEST cake toppers in the world--a little pineapple bride and groom! We got so many compliments on the way the cake looked AND tasted. I am so, so happy with how everything turned out.

The staff at A Cake Life did an amazing job!!! We ordered a three tiered cake with cherry blossoms and our three dogs. The cherry blossom was so realistic and they were able to capture all our dogs features. This included spots, graying hairs, and their little ears! Our wedding guests enjoyed the cake. It was moist and yummy. We plan to make a one tier copy of our cake for our anniversary. And if we have children, we will be ordering their birthday cakes from them!

Kristin was so helpful, and could advise on sizes, styles and colours. I organised my cake from Australia, and wasn't able to attend a pre-tasting, but the Lemon Drizzle is amazing, and the oreo for the chocolate lovers was delicious. Since we do not live on Oahu, we weren't sure how to go about getting our wedding cake. We couldn't have been any happier when we stumbled on A Cake Life. Wow whY a cake we had for our wedding, we chose the fantasy swirls and twirls for the wedding cake, nothing traditional and mason jar cakes as wedding favours.
Since initial contact with Kristen and her team, everything was professional, and the cakes OMG they were amazing, our guests commented on how wonderful it all was. My cousin is coming to HWaii for her destination wedding Nd this is the only wedding cake vendor I will be advising.

Kristin was by far the easiest and most responsive vendor we worked with! She is really on top of email and communication, which is so important when you’re planning a wedding and working with multiple vendors. I went with a semi-naked cake. We had a cake tasting and I brought 2 bridesmaids and my then-fiancé. Everyone was so impressed with the cake tasting! I ended up going with three flavors—butter cream and strawberry filling, coconut and pineapple filling (or vice-versa) and butter cream and lilikoi filling. My one bridesmaid who doesn’t really like cake kept telling me that she was looking forward to this wedding cake! The cake was so yummy. I heard from wedding guests that they had multiple pieces of cake because they wanted to try the other tiers. Kristin also helped me to rent a cake platter from another vendor. She was so helpful and a pleasure to work with! I definitely recommend Kristin!

Perfect!!! I found A Cake Life through my photographer Jenna of Creatrix Photography. This was a destination and so trying to pick out a cake remotely was something I was dreading. But Kristin & Elana of A Cake Life made the process so easy. We did two types of cake, the top tier was coconut cake with pineapple filling and the bottom tier was lemon cake with fresh raspberry filling, and it was fabulous. My personal favorite was the lemon cake with raspberry. I also had a slight addition in needing a small topper for the grooms cake and they were able to handle the request beautifully without any problems. I truly can not say enough about how easy the process was and what a great product they make.

We got our wedding cake and favors from A Cake Life and they were delicious. For our wedding cake, Kristin and her team were able to create a really beautiful, but most of all tasty wedding cake. Going in, we didn't really have an idea of what we liked, but after viewing various pictures we picked out a beautiful design that they executed to perfection. We chose two flavors (guava and fresh strawberry and lilikoi with buttercream) and we couldn't be happier. Our favors were mason jar cakes (including cute wooden spoons, ribbons in our wedding colors and a sticker on top) in our wedding cake flavors. A Cake Life is super responsive and their cakes are as delicious as they look!

Kristin and a cake life staff were wonderful to work with. My initial contact with them was about 6 months prior to my wedding and they already had several orders placed for the same day. Thankfully, they were still able to accommodate my groom's cake. The consultation and cake tasting was really fun! Kristin gave me some really good ideas of what I could do and her work is just amazing. Communication was mostly via emails and there were no problems with that. On the day of the wedding, the cake was setup on time and exactly as planned. The design of the cake was incredible and was a definite highlight of the wedding. We ate the cake the next day and it was very good. I would highly recommend a cake life for anyone wanting a beautiful and delicious cake, especially if you're looking for something with a custom design.

A cake life made our beautiful wedding cake. We told her what we wanted, not knowing exactly how the cake would look like because I wanted to be surprised. The day of our wedding and we walked into our reception I saw our cake and fell in love with it. I absolutely loved it and it came out so perfect and way better then what I expected. Kristin from a Cake life is a pleasure to deal with; she responded very quickly to all my emails and was very helpful in trying to find a combinaison of tiers sizes that would work the best for us, considering the group size he had and the look we wanted. When we met for our tasting (really yummy!) only a few days before the wedding we decided on adding a beautiful feature on our Cake, a couple of surfboards with our initials on them which looked great! It was really great working with Kristin and her team from answering our inquiries, designing our wedding cake and choosing the flavors. Our wedding cake turned out exactly what we wished for - a fabulous and delicious buttercream cake that was perfect for our wedding theme. Everyone enjoyed the cake and our guests wanted more!

This cake was beautiful, and even with the looks it taste amazing. I personally hate cake but this cake I can sit down and devour. They made it on time, brought it to us in one piece it looked just stunning thank you!

Kristin and her team did an exceptional job creating our dessert spread, as well as our beautiful wedding cake. We've received many comments from our guests on how much they loved the mini cupcakes, cake shooters, mochi brownie, rice krispies treats, chocolate dipped strawberries, tiramisu, and cake pops, just to name a few that A Cake Life beautifully created for our dessert table. My wife and I are very pleased with A Cake Life's services. We would definitely like to use them again in the future and will recommend them to our family and friends.

Kristin was super responsive and had told me it would take a week for our sketch but then later that night I received an e-mail with the sketch. Our cake looked amazing and tasted good. We chose to opt out of the fondant and went with buttercream frosting instead. It was a little sweet but our guests liked it. A Cake Life was very easy to work with and delivered a beautiful and tasty cake.

Kristin is a true artist! Our cake looked amazing, but most importantly, tasted DELICIOUS! We chose the pineapple filling, guava filling, and lilikoi filling. I was obsessed with the lilikoi filling! THE BEST!

I hired Kristin with the first bite of her sample cakes. You and your guests will not be disappointed.

I surprised my groom with a chocolate/PB filling cake. Kristin did an excellent job with the icing and putting our two pugs on the cake. He was so surprised and so happy with the cake and PB filling!

When I go back to O'ahu, I will be sure to have Kristin make a cake for us!!!

I found A Cake Life through The Hilton Hawaiian Village - They provided a brochure for me. So I emailed Kristin and Elana. They were always so nice, yet professional and quick to respond and help me out with any questions I had. I do not live in Hawaii I live on the mainland and they assured me I wouldn't have to worry about the taste of the cake - They were right! I don't regret not being able to testing of the cake before hand. I Ordered a small cake and a half sheet of Coconut cake with chocolate cream filling. YUMM!!!! They surprised me and my husband with a Red Velvet cupcake also :) SO SWEET of them and again the Red Velvet was yummy too. I would highly recommend A Cake Life :) Kristin and Elana were the best! Thank you guys for all your hard work.

I was one of those brides that thought a cake was the least important part of my wedding. I thought that choosing any cake company would work. I was wrong. I did a couple of cake tastings before coming to A Cake Life and I was blown away by their samples! Kristin is very professional and is very willing to help you design your “perfect cake”.

First of all, I was planning my wedding from San Diego, CA. So the one trip I made to Hawaii meant scheduling every vendor I needed and making the most of my time with each. I called up Kristin at the last minute and stopped by her shop to pick up the samples. Although she was on her way out, she was kind enough to to help answer some quick questions I had about her cakes.

Secondly, I couldn’t decide on flavors, whether I wanted cupcakes or tiers, and my “true” cake budget. I thought my indecisiveness would annoy Kristin, but she helped me stay calm and totally understood the difficulty I was having on my end. She never made me feel that I was wasting her time or that I was just a paying customer, she wanted to make sure I was getting the type of cake I wanted for my wedding.

Finally, after all the discussions we had via email (she was very prompt in answering) she produced a beautiful cake that awed my guests and tasted great! I’m telling you, her samples were that delicious that I was talking about my cake first to people, rather than flowers, location, dresses, etc.

I definitely would recommend A Cake Life for any upcoming wedding or event! She has a creative mind when designing these cakes and will become a great asset for those who have no idea what they want. I will say that I started to love the idea of having a cake at my wedding as I worked with Kristin on mine! She’s reliable, quick to respond, has her experience to give you support and ideas, and she also cares about her clients! Thank you Kristin for my making my wedding cake a superb addition!

My wedding cake came from A Cake Life. Kristen Kato made us a beautiful 4 tiered round wedding cake. It was a yellow cake with a lovely fresh strawberry and cream filling with buttercream frosting. She topped the cake off with green/yellow cymbidium orchids and we also had her make 30 cupcakes for the keikis to enjoy. Everyone marveled at the cake and fell in love with it even more when they tasted it. We were a bit worried because the humidity at Haiku Gardens can some times cause the buttercream to sweat but the cake stood up throughout the reception and was enjoyed by all. Thank you Kristen to you and your staff.

Kristin from A Cake Life did an excellent job in helping me complete the look of our wedding! She puts so much into her work and pays attention to all the little details. She is very easy to work with, open to suggestions, and replies to emails promptly! She also helps to work within budget. What I really liked was her selection in flavors! I loved loved my cake! I contacted Kristen by email and ordered and sent ideas months in advance. From day one she worked well and professional with me, even when I almost changed my cake design a month before the wedding. On our wedding day, we arrived at our reception with our beautiful cake waiting for us. The cake tasted great and our guests loved it as well. I loved my wedding cake. I had a destination wedding so did a lot of my planning via email. Kristin was extremely easy to work with and responded to my emails in a timely manner. We met for a tasting at the Wedding Cafe and she was really nice and answered all the questions we had.

I kept my wedding cake simple, three tiers with white fondant and a plum fondant ribbon (one of my wedding colors) running along each tier. I then had my florist dress it up with some white orchids. I have a huge sweet tooth and really enjoyed my cake on my wedding night. I highly recommend the guava cake w/ guava frosting and coconut cake w/ lilikoi frosting. So good! I ended up flying home with the top tier of my cake to save for our one year anniversary...can't wait!

When I first began planning my parent's 60th wedding anniversary, I was looking for a reliable and reputable baker. My son, Scott, told me about Kristin who happens to also be Scott's preschool classmate from Hongwanji Mission School. Without hesitation, I went to her website and made reservations for a consultation. We met at The Wedding Cafe at Ward Warehouse and I was very impressed with her professionalism and the warmth she portrayed even though I haven't seen her in years. All I could see was this cute little girl from preschool now an owner of her own bakery. Throughout my planning, she continued to follow-up with emails to assure me that I had nothing to worry about. So true! I was very happy to see such a beautiful 3-tiered cake with cupcakes and my parents favorite flowers as the cake top which were gardenias and pakalana. My parents were so happy to see the cake. During the cake cutting, they opted to eat the cupcakes instead of the top tier because they said it was too nice to cut. Well, it's still in the fridge waiting for the perfect time to share it with the kids. I thank Kristin and her staff for bringing much happiness to my parents through her beautifully decorated and delicious cakes! Thank you so much!! I will definitely ask Kristin for another cake in the near future!

Kristin from A Cake Life is SO professional and takes such pride in her work. The resulting product is proof for sure. She is so creative and made our vision a reality. My only regret was that we didn't get to eat more cake at our wedding. I have heard this is normal at your own wedding though. But I have to say that all of our guest LOVED the cupcake tower and said it was so delicious. Thank you Kristin for your hard work and being so professional!

The delicious variations of cake choices were amazing and made it hard to choose which flavor we wanted for our two-tiered wedding cake. After finally agreeing on 2 different flavors, we designed our cake and was really satisfied of how it was sketched and when I finally saw my cake on our wedding day, it was PERFECT! She made my simple two-tiered cake look so elegant that I didn't even want to cut it. Well, we did and it tasted even better than I remembered. A Cake Life made our wedding day extra special!

I work in the hospitality industry & have see a lot of specialty cakes. I work with Kristin Kato, owner of A Cake Life for a lot of my weddings & events, & I can honestly say that she makes the cleanest, most intricate & unique cake designs I have ever seen. She is willing to tackle any design & is always up for a challenge. A Cake Life always delivers & sets up on time (if not earlier than expected). These are just some of the reasons why I selected A Cake Life for my own wedding.

I recently got married on 7/13/13, and it was very important for me to keep true to my color theme of grey, yellow & ivory. My invitations were grey with a yellow quatrefoil band around the middle. I really wanted my wedding cake to match my invitations. I met with Kristin to discuss my design & flavors at her beautiful new shop. I previously looked online at a lot different websites like The Knot, Pinterest, Martha Stewart Weddings, etc. & saw that I liked a design that had a very shimmery/platinum looking silver. I showed Kristin some examples & she said she has never done that style of "leafing" before, but can definitely do it. We decided on a three-tier, round fondant wedding cake with edible silver leafing on the top & bottom tiers, & a yellow fondant middle tier incorporating the quatrefoil pattern.

Next we discussed cake flavors. We were not planning on serving our wedding cake so we asked if the bottom tier can be fake. Kristin said that wouldn't be a problem. A Cake Life has so many cake flavors to choose from so it was very hard to decide on what we wanted. We decided to go with the red velvet with cream cheese, & the classic yellow butter cake with fresh strawberry cream filling. On the night of the wedding we cut into the red velvet, & it was so moist & delicious!!!

I was so impressed with Kristin's professionalism, response time, & how absolutely PERFECT our cake turned out. If I could give a million stars, A Cake Life deserves them all!!!!!!!!!

Kristin is absolutely wonderful! Even though we've spent our conversations on email mostly, she was very kind and very polite each time. I absolutely LOVED the cake she had made for my wedding. Kristin from A Cake Life was a pleasure to work with. I knew I wanted a cupcake tower to make it easier to serve our approximately 80 guests at our destination wedding in Hawaii. Kristin was very flexible when I decided to change the look of my 6inch cake and the cupcakes, and she was also open to using special cupcake wrappers that I ordered and had mailed directly to her. Everything turned out just as I imagined and to top it off the cupcakes and cake were DELICIOUS! I've heard stories about wedding cakes being hard and dry but Kristin's cakes were moist and soft and tasted amazing. I would highly recommend A Cake Life to anyone.
