Elly and the 8 Chains North Winery staff were incredibly courteous and helpful throughout our entire wedding experience. My husband and I didn't know where to start and Elly guided us through every step to ensure we were fully prepared. After touring multiple venues, nothing compared to 8 Chains; the interior perfectly accommodated our guest count of 75, and the early summer vines offered a gorgeous backdrop. We highly recommend this venue and Elly as a day-of coordinator, she and the staff set up our arrangements beautifully and ensured the entire wedding day went smoothly. They truly made our wedding day stress-free! ❤️ -

Magical Wedding Venue
8 Chains North Winery was a dream location for our dream wedding. We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding and toured many locations across northern Virginia, including other vineyards and wineries. There was just something else about this one. This boutique winery is so charming and the views from the tasting room are breathtaking. Their spaces allow for a wedding to have a sweet flow to it, as my husband noted at the first time we came “everything is just simple and close and you don’t have to walk a “mile” to get from the ceremony location to the reception”.
Elly, the event coordinator at the winery, is so easy to work with. Always responsive, always knowledgeable, and she was always open-minded when it came to our unusual ideas. She really is the top of the craft. Her attention to detail and extra care was the icing on the cake. She always made us feel very special and like we were the only ones in the room.
Unexpectedly a tropical storm decided to be our wedding guest. Well, Elly would always want to talk rainy day plans, which we sort of “hustled through” thinking no way, our wedding day will be bright and sunny! Well, unlike us, Elly was prepared for everything. We still got the most amazing vineyard view for our outdoor, under their roofed pergola ceremony. Throughout the night, many of our guests complimented that our wedding was one of the most beautiful weddings they’ve been to in years.
One of the best decisions we ever made regarding our wedding was to tie the know at 8 Chains North. The second great decision was to become wine members there; we come there once a month, all the staff is so friendly and accommodating and we feel right at home every time we come out there, rain or shine. -

Nestled in Northern Virginia’s wine country, 8 Chains was an amazing venue to work with from
beginning to end for our wedding. The property is really gorgeous and the team is constantly
making improvements and updates. For example, we toured and signed our deposit in the
middle of 2021; by the time of our wedding in May 2022, the venue had added an entire new
overlook deck and a paved pathway for the wedding party to walk down.
We fit ~90 attendees in the Compass Rose room with cocktail hour outside and the ceremony down toward the vineyard. Loved this set up and would definitely recommend! They also had great rooms for getting ready upstairs during the day. Plenty of parking available.
Elly, our main coordinator, was fantastic. She was friendly, quick to answer questions, and
extremely supportive/flexible. For example, our forecasted weather was 50/50 rain…Elly was
quick to offer the full indoor space if needed. Extra points for driving the golf cart mid-first-look
pictures to a private space for additional pictures that turned out great!
A few things to know/keep in mind: You are able to provide your own beer and liquor, and only
need to buy wine from 8 Chains. Becoming a wine club member enables a big discount,
which is a no-brainer. The backdrop of the vineyard/vines is a huge part of the venue…in mid-
May, they were about 60% of ‘full bloom’….any earlier in the year and you may risk some bare
vines for pictures and aesthetics. They work with a bunch of local vendors, and if available,
definitely recommend taking them up on their recs. They work GREAT as a team and it’s way
easier for all of your vendors to know the space. -

We wanted a venue for 80 people, somewhere with charm that our guests would enjoy. Everywhere we looked was look big, too small, or too industrial. Until we found 8 Chains North. It was the perfect venue - the room is gorgeous and the site fabulous.
Elly was amazing in making sure every detail was taken care of. And the wine is so good - our guests raved about our wedding for months.
I would highly recommend 8 Chains North for your event. -

We had our microwedding with 16 guests at 8 chains winery, and couldn't have been happier with this decision! We planned it on a short timeline about a month out and chose 8 chain's micro wedding package, which luckily all the vendors were available. Elly was amazing in coordinating the wedding, and ensured from the start of planning to throughout the entire day of the wedding, everything ran smoothly! The vendor team included in the package is wonderful as well - Clover Hill Events for decor, Loudoun County Farms for flowers, and Patricia from Northern Virginia Marriage Officiants. The property itself is beautiful - it has a bridal and groom suite to get ready in, great options for a rain backup plan, and the room for the dinner/reception is beautiful. Overall this was a very stress-free process for us which was exactly what we wanted. We truly couldn't have asked for a better day or a better team to help us plan everything - 8 chains has a very special place in our hearts! -

We found 8 Chains when doing wine tastings throughout Loudon County. Signed up for their smallest wedding package since we only had 16 people and it was phenomenal. Elly and the entire team at 8 Chains was so helpful and accommodating and removed so many of the decisions that we really didn't care about. Overall is was super stress free, which was exactly what we were looking for! If you're thinking about it, the answer is absolutely yes, book it right now! The fantastic wine doesn't hurt either :) -

8 Chains North was the PERFECT venue for my 21-guest wedding! We weren't sure how things would look with COVID when we got engaged, so we opted for a small celebration with the Petit Verdot wedding package. This was the BEST choice we could have possibly made! Elly took so much stress out of the wedding planning process by helping us think through all the logistics, connecting us with fabulous vendors, and maintaining great communication with my partner and I. She made sure everything was perfect on the day of the wedding and did such an excellent job coordinating everything. She was attentive to all of our preferences as well as very laid-back and fun to work with. We have no complaints!
8 Chains is a beautiful and versatile venue with friendly staff. We really felt like we were getting a lot of bang for our buck, too! My partner and I HIGHLY recommend 8 Chains as a wedding venue! -

Intimate Fall Wedding
We can't not say enough wonderful things about 8 Chains North Winery. While trying to plan for our wedding during the pandemic, we decided on an intimate celebration with just our immediate family (14 guests).
8 Chains North offered packages set up to make planning stress free and included wonderful vendors that are familiar with the winery and easy to work with as well. Elly and the entire staff provided amazing customer service and made us feel comfortable and at ease.
The winery offers a beautiful setting with delicious wines. We are so happy we decided to go with 8 Chains North for our big day! -

Wow, words cannot begin to describe how happy we are that we found 8 Chains North and Elly's team for our mini ceremony we just had on 10/24. My husband and I sent out so many requests in our last attempt to schedule a minimony since our big wedding we had originally planned in DC was cancelled due to COVID and Elly was so quick to respond and made the whole process to plan our special day so easy and seamless. I can't stop hearing compliments from my family and everyone who saw our live-stream ceremony about how beautiful the space was with the vineyards and fall trees in the background. Something else I loved about the space is that the venue has a huge upstairs area with a bridal suite and groom's room where we were all able to get ready at our own pace. As an added bonus, the wine here is top notch ! Thank you so much Elly for making our wedding unforgettable, you were so attentive and helpful and our pictures look so amazing at the beautiful 8 chains North. -

Elly was amazing from the time we met her for a venue tour. She is super responsive to emails and is a great host. The staff the night of our event were so helpful and fun and always made sure our guests had full glasses of wine! Not to mention, the wine is outstanding, probably my favorite of any northern Virginia wine. We also brought in an outside caterer and were able to hook up a blue tooth speaker and give a little toast/speech. Will definitely be coming back for more nights on their amazing patio! -

Gorgeous setting, helpful staff, excellent value -- especially for scaled-down weddings during COVID
After having to delay our “big” wedding celebration due to COVID, it was the biggest relief to find 8 Chains and their coordinator Elly. The mini-mony and elopement packages are so helpful for those looking for something simple, but still celebratory. We had just over a dozen people and it was the absolute best day — in large part because Elly and the rest of the 8CN staff were so professional and accomodating. From our very first call, Elly put our minds at ease about still being able to celebrate our marriage, even in a smaller way than we initially envisioned, and with a number of COVID protocols in place. I was always struck by her professionalism and attention to detail, particularly in the days leading up to and on the wedding when I was distracted by other things — she just got things done. The 8 Chains setting is simply stunning, especially in the fall, and our photos from the first look in the vines will be beautiful. The ability to get ready in the bridal and grooms suites were a huge plus, as it allowed our family to spend the day with us leading up to the ceremony. The winery’s patio and Harvest Room are absolutely perfect for a variety of sizes, and the inside/outside flow was exactly what we were looking for. A huge thank you to everyone at 8CN for their health protocols and helping us find ways to celebrate safely (masks, outdoor dining, etc.) 8CN was flexible with the vendors we wanted to use, and Elly made sure that things happened seamlessly on the morning of the wedding — we blinked and the room and our ceremony site was set up impeccably. The ceremony and dinner went off flawlessly, and we absolutely felt that Elly was constantly going the extra mile to make the night special for us (she sent us home with leftovers for a late-night snack, for example). Our families had the best time and couldn’t stop complimenting the beautiful venue and the incredible staff. Highly, highly recommend 8CN and Elly — would hire both again in a heartbeat.

8 Chains was such a breath of fresh air after touring a few wedding venues. Elly, the winery’s event coordinator, is very personable and made us feel like more than just another couple. The whole process from booking our venue to planning the ceremony specifics was seamless. Elly and the entire staff at 8 Chains did everything in their power to make all of our dreams for our big day come true. They really went above and beyond to accommodate our November wedding date by settling our nerves about the lighting and other options in case of bad weather. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and the wine is fantastic! Our wedding was everything we could ask for and more thanks to 8 Chains Winery North and especially Elly’s support. -

made my wedding day a dream
8 Chains North Winery was the best wedding venue I could have ever asked for. Elly, the events coordinator, was my savior the day of the wedding. She helped make the day about Matt and I, and that was so amazing of her to do. It also didn't hurt that she was always on wine duty :)
We had the max amount of guests at the venue, and it was still so spacious and comfortable. If you are debating on going with 8 Chains, I'd definitely recommend it.
If you're not getting married, they have an amazing winery and tasting area to enjoy!! -

8 Chains is not only an incredibly beautiful venue, but they have an amazing team that is extremely friendly and prepared for anything! Elly is the main point of contact for weddings, and she is extremely attentive and really knows what she's doing. She has recommendations for everything and really wants you to have a very special day. As an added bonus their wine is also really great! We joined their wine club and will continue with it for a long time after the wedding. If we could get married again we would pick this venue every time. -

Amazing venue!
8 Chains was an absolute perfect wedding venue for us! We were only having 50-60 people so the size was perfect and the reception room is so elegant. Never had a single issue communicating with anyone, Elly responded to all my questions promptly. Our whole day went off without a single issue, not a single complaint from us! -

Perfect winery wedding venue
8 Chains was a phenomenal venue for our October wedding. We had such a great experience from the day that we first visited through our wedding day. Elly (Events Manager) was extremely attentive and responsive throughout the planning process. Our guests had great things to say about Elly and the rest of the 8 Chains staff members that worked our reception. The Furnace Mountain package was a great value. We loved our on-site bride/groom suites (with bubbly service!). The back lawn was a beautiful backdrop for an outdoor ceremony, and we had access to the tasting room and patio for an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour. The reception space was our favorite part of this venue. It was very elegant with the perfect amount of space for our guests. We highly recommend 8 Chains North Winery as a wedding venue!

We visited many vineyards in search of the best fit for our wedding venue. 8 Chains North Winery felt like home to us from the moment we turned at Daymont Lane, and were greeted with a view of horses and a silo. As my wife, Lisa, grew up in the country and I’m a country girl at heart, we appreciate the peaceful and quiet setting. This winery is elegant though unpretentious. Other vineyards are dog friendly, but 8 Chains North Winery is the only one we’ve found that has a safe, enclosed area for dogs to play. Initially, we wanted our dog to be in our ceremony. Although we decided against including Zeke on our special day, 8 Chains North Winery scored points with us for welcoming and accommodating the needs of dogs. Each return visit to 8 Chains North Winery re-affirmed our decision to get married here!
Our wedding at 8 Chains North Winery was a dream come true in every way. Their staff was consistently warm, kind, professional, and 100% attentive to our needs. They took the time to meet with us and review our wishes and requirements well in advance of our wedding day. Elly Sullivan (events manager), in particular, was always calm and made sure that everything ran smoothly. Wedding planning can be stressful, but there was no need to worry about a thing with the support of this team! We’ve also heard from many of our guests, who love this winery and said that this was the best wedding they’d ever attended.
Since our wedding, we continue to find reasons to return to 8 Chains North Winery! Rain or shine, we’re always happy to be here and highly recommend 8 Chains North Winery to other couples who desire that dream-come-true experience!

Wedding of our dreams!
My husband and I got married in June at this venue and it was perfect!! The venue was beautiful and Elly (their wedding guru) made sure that our special day was absolutely amazing. The weather was horrible but somehow the ceremony ended up being more beautiful than we originally though because of their flexibility and backup plan. Pricing was fair for what you get in the wedding world. -

Nicole Sent on 01/14/2018Kim and the 8 Chains North team went above any beyond to make our wedding day exactly what we had hoped. Our Wedding was late September, 2017. We had fallen in love with the venue when we first went in for our tasting in January, trying to make a decision on where we wanted to get married. We had a small, 12 person wedding (including bride & groom). Kim worked with our caterer to suggest a beautiful farm table to rent for our family dinner. We had our ceremony in the lush green vineyard as the sun was setting, followed by light appetizers on the patio under the cutest lights. Dinner was served in the Compass Rose Room which is STUNNING.
The bride and groom suites put this place over the top. When my mother and I arrive to get ready, there was a bottle of my favorite wine waiting for us chilled with glasses. The rooms are so feminine and masculine and perfectly appointed. We got some really fantastic pictures. Other wineries we had checked out in the Northern VA area did not have spaces that were so intentional. Kim was very communicative throughout the planning process and I just knew things would go over well. She was clear with what was allowed at their venue. Despite having so many weddings and so many brides, every meeting with Kim made it feel like I was the only bride, not to mention that Kim was in attendance for the entire extent of the wedding.
Whether big or small, I would highly suggest working with Kim and the 8 Chains North team for your wedding or other event. Truly a top venue!

Adam Sent on 10/17/2017If you are looking for the perfect place for your romantic, intimate, and overall amazing wedding.. look no further. My, now wife and I, stumbled upon 8 Chains North Winery while visiting Virginia wine country. We had been to several locations but as soon as we walked into 8 Chains we knew immediately this was the place. The tasting room is very intimate, but with plenty of seating for a nice size crowd.. two bars and a rolling fireplace top it off. Just off the the tasting room is the Compass Rose room, this room is very elegant with one wall being made of wine cork, beautiful chandeliers, and a rear wall made of glass so that you can see directly through to the barrel room. Our wedding and reception was October 13, 2017 at 6pm. The ceremony was out on the lawn and in the background were beautiful rows of vineyards. The brick patio was the icing on the cake and perfect location for our cocktail hour. The best part of the entire experience was working with, Kim Sullivan, the Events Manager, she is absolutely amazing. There is no doubt she is a pro at what she does and she worked with us every step of the way to make sure our special day went off without a hitch. She is incredibly responsive, professional, and we felt like she took a personal interest in making this special; even going so far as to recommend a caterer and florist, both of wish we decided to go with. Our wedding and reception was amazing and our friends and family are still talking about it.

Erin Sent on 05/17/2016I can't recommend 8 Chains highly enough, as both a winery and a wedding venue! We had our reception here and it couldn't have been more perfect. The property is beautiful, the staff is fantastic, and the wine is delicious. Their event planner Erin is awesome to work with, and I really appreciated her taking charge and making things work on the fly day-of. Unlike some other wineries in the area, 8 Chains is not trying to put on airs. They're just a laid-back place full of wonderful people who will make your event beautiful.
