My fiancé and I went to multiple tastings at various caterers in the triad area. Tara at 24 Blackbirds Cafe not only had the best food but the presentation was amazing. The food at our wedding was SO good. Tara was able to customize specialty appetizers for us. Our favorite was the tomato soup shooter with a grilled cheese wedge. It has been a weeks after our wedding and all of our friends and family cannot stop talking about great the food was. I want to also note that during the planning process Tara was prompt at responding, professional, accommodating, and so sweet. We had to delay our wedding due to COVID and change venues; she was flexible and gracious through all of it. My husband and I highly recommend Tara and her team at 24 Blackbirds cafe. 10/10! -

We were blown away with 24 Blackbirds Catering for our July 2023 wedding. Guests told us our cocktail hour food was the best they have ever had and we had no shortage of entrees and options at our reception. The team is communicative and helped us build a menu that was especially designed for our event and carried it out flawlessly. They even supplied their own bartenders that kept the drinks flowing all night. We absolutely recommend them for your event! -

My daughter & now husband really enjoyed their tasting with Tara months prior to their wedding on 10.15.2022. Their choice was chicken pesto, Caesar salad, roasted vegetables which was excellent! The staff was personable and served the dinner on real dinnerware at no additional fee. They also nicely packed leftovers for the family to take home. Guests provided positive feedback which was great to hear. We'd have them cater for us again in the future! Linda (MOB) -

DELICIOUS, was a hit at our wedding!
For our wedding we did the Southern BBQ feast, and everyone raved about it! Tara was super accommodating, and helped us swap out items to make more options for vegetarians, etc. We also loved the hors d'oeuvres for the cocktail hour - especially the chicken and waffles and the mini cheeseburgers with the tiny pickles! Communication was great and prices are super reasonable. Absolutely recommend! -

Tara and her team were amazing to work with! We had a small "microwedding" with a brunch following. We needed to keep our menu vegetarian and kosher, and she was great with suggestions and accommodating any special requests. Everything was perfect, she was quick with communication, and our guests raved about the food. She also fixed our (bride and groom) plates for us without asking, and packed up the leftovers for us to take home, which was so sweet. Thank you so much! -

Choosing 24 Blackbirds Cafe was the best decision we could have made for our Wedding Day! Tara was so sweet, responsive and offered helpful suggestions! She truly was like working with an old family friend and made us comfortable every step of the way! The variety of choices available made putting together our dinner less stressful and we, along with our guests, were so pleased! I truly believe any combination of the appetizers, salads and entrees would go together! Tara took my pinterest inspired food presentation dreams and made them a reality--the signs, candles and greenery were the perfect touches! When she says you don't need a knife for the chicken, she's not kidding! For our cocktail hour we chose the Dip Trio and the Artisanal Cheese Display. Our dinner was well enjoyed and consisted of the Garden Salad with Ranch or Balsamic dressing, Herb Roasted Chicken, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Herb Roasted Vegetables, and Dinner Rolls. Teas and Water were available as well as plates, silverware and serving staff. Very fair price for the quality provided! I would recommend 24 Blackbirds Cafe for many types of events ---breakfast, lunch or dinner-- I had the luxury of eating a delicious breakfast at work as well, with mini pancakes, bacon/sausage, eggs and grits! If you're looking for a caterer to provide quality service, care about cleanliness and proper food preparation, and leave you with a happy belly and a big smile, choose Tara and 24 Blackbirds Cafe! -

Tara was exceptional, VERY accommodating, and affordable! She had a lot to deal with: covid19 protocols AND gluten free vegan food. From initial consultation to the wedding day she wasn’t gracious, professional, and supportive in our overall plan. She helped come up with a unique menu that worked for us. Thank you, Tara!!! -

Our church Christmas dinner was catered by 24 Blackbirds. They were reasonably priced, very professional to work with. They were on time with drop off and set up. The food was delicious! We would highly recommend them! -

We secured the dates for our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception over a year out and we could not be any happier with the outcome. Tara and her team were absolutely amazing. We live in Summerville SC and Tara worked around our schedules to coordinate a tasting, bared with us while we changed our menus, helped us with any questions that we had and provided staff for the bar.
Both our rehearsal dinner and reception were perfect. We had guests coming up to us during both events raving about the food and telling us how phenomenal everything was.
If you are looking for a caterer for any event, look no further. You are in great hands with Tara and her team at 24 Blackbirds Cafe and Market. -

The best wedding food!
Tara and her catering company are amazing! The food was so good, she did the cutest tasting for us, and the day of she was nothing but professional! The spread/setup looked amazing and we had so many people rave about how good the food was. Not to mention she was VERY reasonably priced! Highly recommend her! -

I lost my caterer 3 weeks before my wedding. 24 Blackbirds had a last minute opening and I was lucky to get it! They were quick with their responses, fairly priced, and their food/service was awesome. I would’ve have gone with them from the beginning if I would’ve known. They were wonderful and I’d recommend the company to anyone needing a caterer. They have great menu selections and could not have been nicer. They were on time for the big day and worked quickly throughout dinner. Thanks for adding to my beautiful wedding day. -

Tara and her team are absolutely amazing!!! They completely knocked it out of the park, every person at my wedding was raving about the food. She even provided a donut wall with the most delicious donuts. My husband and I are so happy with how everything turned out. I totally recommend them for your wedding or big event! We were beyond happy with 24 Blackbirds! We went for a tasting and booked them the very next day. They worked with us on the menu and even made some suggestions on how to make things work well together when we had special requests. Everything was delicious on the wedding day, too! I even saw my (very) picky aunt go back for seconds. We had vegan guests and they made separate meals for them as well. I cannot recommend 24 Blackbirds enough! -

Amazing Caterer!
My husband and I were beyond thrilled with the amazing service and food that 24 Black Birds provided us for our special day! From the amazing and friendly staff to the scrumptious food- it was all beyond perfect! We decided to serve the buffet style pulled pork with all the southern fixin's (DELISH)! We also added on the bar servers to the package which was the best thing ever! They staffed the bar and allowed us to provide our own beer and wine (a good way to save $ bc a lot of companies won't let you provide your own alcohol). They also traveled to Raleigh for our wedding! We can't say enough good things about Tara and her staff at 24 Black Birds! If you have a wedding or event coming up- check her out! I promise you won't regret it! -

After testing several caterers, my daughter and her husband chose 24 Blackbirds. They're located close to the venue, which was convenient, the food was great and they were willing to work with a picky eater bride!
The catering staff was very professional and the food was excellent. Before leaving, they packed all the leftovers in containers so we could take them home. My only regret was there wasn't any of the delicious macaroni and cheese left to take home! -

I hired 24 Blackbirds (Tara) to cater my son’s Wedding Rehearsal Dinner. I found the company by “googling”—from the very beginning Tara was quick to respond to my questions & provide me with all the important info. I needed. She was VERY easy to work with & willing to do whatever I asked!!
When the wedding venue had to change due to destruction from a tornado she was SO flexible as I searched for another location for the dinner.
She really helped me with deciding on the menu selections & with a payment plan! Again when the # of guests changed & increased in size she was very flexible in working
with me.
She & her workers came in to set-up while I was at the wedding rehearsal & everything was ready to go when we got to the dinner. The food was delious & displayed in a lovely manner. I heard many great comments about how good the food was & there was plenty to eat. She did box up the small amount of leftovers for us to take.
I am so glad I “found” 24 Blackbirds & would hire Tara & her crew again in a heartbeat!! -

Many of our guests remarked on the tastiness of the food. They have a very large variety of menu options & bundles and will get back to you in an extremely timely manner. Their price-point is wonderful and they are willing to work with you in pretty much any unique situation. Worth every penny!

Tiffany Sent on 05/19/2018What an amazing cater! 24 blackbirds catered my wedding on 04/28/2018. The food was amazing! We still have guest talking about the food and taco bar! Her decor and southen. Hospitality was amazing! We had so many options and Tara is very takes her job serious. The severs were awesome and made sure they pulled out all the stops. I recommend anyone to stop by her cafe and try her Sweet tea and taste her pecan pie!

They offered linens, tables, serving ware, glassware, and more. They even had one of their staff write on chalkboards and the tables for me. Their whole staff is fantastic. I had so many people tell me the food was great. And they will work with you to stay within your budget. The prices were more reasonable than any I've seen in the triad. I've also thrown a baby shower at 24BB and my own bridal shower was given there. I will continue to use them for any and all parties and catering because they are fabulous! -

Tara allowed us to follow our stomachs when choosing our personalized menu and worked really hard to help us stay within our budget goals. Friends and family have been calling our parents ever since the reception to rave about the food. My only wish is that I could go back in time and enjoy the food more myself (its so true that the bride and groom have practically no time to eat!). If I was planning our wedding over again I would absolutely go to 24 Blackbirds for my catering! -

24 Blackbirds Cafe is an amazing choice for wedding catering. Tara is super responsive and really flexible with meeting any demand. Tara worked with me 2 years out to start planning my wedding and was always very responsive and commutative with me. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone at our wedding couldn't stop talking about it. We also did the bar service through them and their bartenders were so professional and wonderful. We are so thankful we went with 24 Blackbirds Cafe and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a multi course meal that won't break the bank at their wedding! -

Even a flood couldn't keep us down!
24 Blackbirds Catering handled our catering as well as our venue. Our wedding was booked three months out, and 6 weeks in we had historic flooding from a hurricane that completely devastated our venue. But, Tara and the team on site went out of their way to make sure that the space was ready and beautiful for our event. Regarding the food, Tara knows how to please a crowd of hungry guests, and our menu was spot on. She did a great job navigating dietary restrictions. I would say Tara's best strength is her day-of execution. Her team was extremely professional and hospitable, and they kept the tone of the evening comfortable and relaxed. She also was very flexible in allowing our decoration team to have everything they needed to pull the room together. We look forward to attending many more celebrations at Canal at Riverside Mill with 24 Blackbirds! -

This business has really put a sour taste in my mouth regarding wedding planning. We had a great initial meeting with Tara to try the menu from 24 Blackbirds Cafe. Her prices were fair compared to other businesses and the food was good. However, after submitting a deposit for her services, I noticed that she reviewed herself online giving the business 5 stars. At the time when I was initially researching the past performance of 24 Blackbirds, I did not realize that one of them was submitted by the owner. It was not until after the tasting that I knew exactly who she was and her affiliation to this establishment. She is really friendly, however when a business only has 16 - 30 reviews, a 5-star rating can absolutely skew the numbers and certainly diminish the trust that should exist between a potential customer and the business. I kindly asked to decline the transaction since I had not signed the contract but at this point it was too late. Please be sure to do your research carefully on a company before you make any moves. Otherwise you will be out of money. In my case it was $1200. The situation really saddens me. I wish that money could at least have been used to feed people instead of going into a caterer's pocket for not doing any work. -

Our wedding was orginally planned for August, but had to be postponed due to covid. 24 Blackbirds was incredibly flexible with moving our date. Unfortunately, we never got to do our taste testing, this was a disappointment, but the food was great for our wedding, so our trust wasn't displaced. There were a few mishaps in our day, the bartender forgot ice and was late returning. The venue contract stated the caterer was responsible for clean up items that were left undone. A tip was included in our final invoice, yet the staff had tip jars our collecting money from guests, this looked very tacky and I did not approve this prior. We didnt have enough dessert for many of our guests. Lastly, we paid fees within our invoice to utilize an outside caterer, and a month after our wedding day those fees haven't yet been paid to the venue. I feel the service from the staff and quality of food were great, but management didnt do their due diligence.
