BOOK WITH TROY!! We can’t recommend enough

We are so happy with our choice of Troy as a DJ!! From the very start our first phone call with him, he was so easy to talk to and SO helpful. Troy went above and beyond just a DJ role and really helped us with so many aspects of our wedding. All of our phone calls we left smiling and even more excited for our a big day. The actual wedding went off without a hitch. He was so great with our timeline and announcements. Our dance floor was like no other I have seen at a wedding. Our friends and family have still not stop complimenting the playlist and telling us it was the most fun wedding they have been to, I think a lot of that had to do with Troy. Jack and I can’t thank you enough for all your help and for absolutely crushing it on our big day. We plan to recommend Troy and 206events to everyone and anyone. We hope to attend many more weddings Troy DJs at. Thank you so much!!

Romie is the best!

We hired 206 Events for our wedding. We worked with Troy on the contract, and he introduced us to our wedding DJ, Romie. Romie was amazing! He is a solid communicator and has a ton of experience DJing for weddings. That came through from details like the suggestion to 'play out' the mother-son song early so that we wouldn't need to dance too long, and working with us to identify the exact second to turn up the recessional song. Romie attended our pre-wedding session to get a feel for the venue, and get confirmation on timing, which was comforting to us. Our venue required that we have a two system setup, one for the ceremony and one for the party, which was no problem at all. Romie was efficient in getting me and our officiant mic'ed up and tested on the day of, which was really important with everything else happening concurrently. He nailed the ceremony song transitions, our wedding party grand entrance, and the handling of wedding speeches. Everybody could hear, and we had no sound or feedback issues at any point. And he really shined during the dance party, where he read the room really well in choosing songs to play and he incorporated our married name into some of the songs - we felt like we were the stars of the show. Overall, Romie was professional, talented, and easy to work with. Definitely recommended!

Awesome, Professional

So Much Fun!

Troy and his team were so amazing to work with! Not only was Tory highly organized and easy to communicate with throughout our wedding planning process, he also was AMAZING on the day of the wedding! From MC'ing to putting on an amazing dance party, Troy showed up and blew us away every step of the way. He was able to take every piece of feedback/thoughts we had and action it beautifully. 10/10 would recommend 206Events to any bride in the Seattle area!

Easy and so wonderful!

Troy has been a dream to work with over the last 3 years. We had to reschedule our wedding due to covid and he was so easy to communicate with.

The day of our wedding was amazing. His professionalism and dj skills are top notch. My friends were absolutely losing their minds on the dance floor. He read the room perfectly. I’ve never had more fun dancing. Could not recommend him more!

So easy to work with

We had such a great experience working with Troy for our wedding! Our venue recommended him and we are so glad they did. He was responsive, professional, and clearly an expert in the field. He even stuck with us after we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID. Leading up to the wedding we felt prepared, and day-of he was a great MC and DJ. He dutifully abided by our Do Not Play list, and kept the dance floor packed all night. We had a couple non-traditional elements (walking down the aisle together, private last dance, shoe game, etc.) and he rolled with all of them. We had such a positive experience, we cannot recommend them highly enough!

Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Troy for your event! He was the DJ and provided lighting for my wedding at the Four Seasons for around 20 guests. He is very nice, professional, responsive, and organized. He’s easy to work with and has a nice online portal and has you fill out details of the wedding on a form. I also just shared Spotify playlists for him which was super easy so we could communicate the vibes we wanted for the wedding music. He even helped my dad and cousin the day of by providing an extension cord so that our livestream service would work. That was a super stressful hiccup that he helped out with. He had such a energetic and nice prescience and I really enjoyed how MCed and was great at keeping the wedding moving and fun. He also provided really nice lights to uplight our florals and dance floor which really changed the mood of the wedding.

The best ever!!

Where do I start? Troy went above and beyond for us as our plans changed over and over due to COVID. We hired him as our DJ and emcee. From the very first meeting to the day of the wedding, Troy never wavered in his focus on making this day special for us. My husband and I have very different tastes in music but he helped create playlists that included songs that we both like. He worked closely with our caterer, day-of coordinator, and venue so that when the wedding day arrived, we got to enjoy the day and not worry about setting anything up or coordinating anything. His emcee skills helped the reception run smoothly and made sure everyone had a good time! We are so excited to work with him again for our post-COVID reception next year!!

We could NOT have done it without Troy! MCing and more

I was hesitant to book a DJ at first; since high school I had my heart set on a live band at my wedding, and the last few weddings I had been to the DJ did not impress. But I am so glad I worked with Troy and 206 events. I decided to call him because there were a few A/V details I needed help with. In one phone call he was able to easily solve all those problems and help me troubleshoot several other logistical points of the wedding that had been blocking me. Troy was able to take care of all sound for our event (ceremony, live band, and background music), MC the whole night, set up lighting, and serve as a day-of coordinator/point-person on the day. His professionalism and extensive experience with weddings solved so many of our problems effortlessly. He also helped us walk through the timeline of the event and provided a number of helpful suggestions for flow and timing.

On wedding day he was the perfect MC -- clear, friendly, professional -- and he did a very good job of checking in with us about the flow of the evening, allowing it to deviate from the schedule without completely going overtime. We felt like we were in good hands the whole time, and later we discovered just how many details were wrangled last-minute without us having to worry! Strong recommendation for his services as an all-around wedding logistics genius!

DJ Perfection

We hired Troy as our wedding DJ and he was awesome!

He was recommended to us by a family friend (who is also a well-known DJ in the Seattle area). From our very first conversation on the phone, I felt so at ease and comfortable with Troy. He was personable, organized, and asked and answered all the right questions regarding our special day.

During the planning process Troy was able to guide us to the right music choices for the ceremony, and even cut a song for us that we wanted for our processional...which, by the way, synced up perfectly with my nephew pulling my little niece down the aisle on a wagon just before I walked down the aisle.

He created great playlists for each part of the wedding, each with their own vibe for the occasion (before the wedding, cocktail hour lawn games, dinner music, and then party/ dance music). He was also a great MC and kept the reception flowing smoothly from speeches to the first dance, to the end of the night. When it was time to dance the night away he read the crowd right with his song choices and was great at checking in to make sure we were happy and having the time of our lives. He also provided the perfect lighting throughout the evening. Our venue was a little tricky because it was so open, and there were lots of different nooks for our guests to explore, including a bonfire far removed from the dance floor, but he was able to pull the guests in with his music selections and lighting for an awesome dance party to end the night.

We are so grateful to Troy and his assistant for helping us have our dream wedding and we highly recommend him for your DJ!

Amazing DJ!

We hired Troy for our wedding in August 2019. Troy was professional, communicative, and helpful throughout the process of leading up to our wedding day. Troy helped outline timelines and coordinated with our photographer, coordinator, and venue. We knew we were in good hands with Troy and the day went off without a hiccup.

The thing we liked the most about Troy is what he did with our playlist. We said, “Just take this as inspiration but make it better” and he did not disappoint. The music on our wedding day was perfect. We could not recommend the team at 206 Events enough!

Highly recommend!

My husband and I got married in Union, WA August 2018 and Troy/206 events did such an amazing job with our wedding music! We had no idea how to pick out music for our big day and he helped us every step of the way. We gave Troy a list of songs and genres we liked and he put together an awesome playlist for the background dinner music and reception music. I picked the ceremony music and he put it together beautifully. He is very organized and professional and he was also a great MC throughout the whole day. We got so many complements on how he did such a great job and how fun he was! Definitely recommend 206 events for ANYTHING you are planning!

The Absolute Best!

Troy and his team truly are the best of the best! We hired him for our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made. Troy was able to help us with song selections and worked with us to form various playlists. (He even helped find versions of the Hora to dance to, and advised on the song I walked down the aisle to!) Troy was also incredibly fast to respond on email in the months, weeks, and even days before the wedding! He is organized, incredibly kind, and easy to talk to. Aside from his amazing DJ and emceeing skills, he did a beautiful job with lighting! He had some lighting ideas that ended up looking amazing during the wedding and the reception. Troy helped make our wedding day the best day ever! I highly recommend him and his team for your event!

Troy and Romie did a fantastic job creating a fun, dynamic, celebratory atmosphere for my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah party. They kept the kids engaged with games interspersed throughout the night and played music that bridged the gap with the older crowd so the dance floor was always full. Highly recommend DJ Romie

206 Events provides excellent services. We were lucky enough to have Romie as our DJ and MC for our wedding. We provided a full list of our top music selections and Romie was a fantastic mixer and MC. Responsive to all of our questions and requests throughout the planning process. Provided services as planned and asked all the right questions about what we were looking for in a DJ prior to the day-of. We didn’t have to worry about a thing! Found them by referral from our day-of coordinator and I wouldn’t hesitate hiring Romie again.

Troy brought the party and made our night magical

When we were planning our wedding we told ourselves we were going to do it as DIY as possible while also striking a good balance of hiring professionals to help us out where needed. For the longest time, we thought a DJ wasn't going to be necessary for our small and intimate wedding. We told ourselves that a laptop and a great Spotify playlist would get us where we needed to be. That was until we met Troy, from 206 Events. We met Troy at another wedding for 2 good friends of ours and it was quickly obvious to us why we needed a DJ and why Troy is so much more than just a DJ. Our Spotify plan seemed solid, we'd rent a few speakers, play a great playlist and everything would be wonderful. But who would play the song as we went down the aisle, who would start the party after the ceremony, who would tell people when to move from one place to another, and who would read the crowd and know just what song to play when there was a lull in the energy on the dance floor? Certainly, our playlist was good, but it wasn't that good. These are the lessons that Troy taught us at the wedding where we met him and it's the magic that he brought to our wedding that transformed it from a good time to a truly magical evening. Troy showed up with far more than just the 2 speakers we were going to rent, he brought all of his professional DJ equipment, lights for the dance floor, microphones for the ceremony and so much more. Troy took our playlist and expanded on it, he brought the human factor to our playlist and was able to read the crowd and play the right song at the right time. He provided an invaluable service as he moved people from the ceremony to the cocktail hour and announced when we would cut the cake and when our first dance would begin. As the evening progressed Troy brought The Party, lights, bass, dancing, laughter, tears and grand emotions. There is no question in our minds that our wedding would have had any chance of being as fun and as wonderful as it was without Troy and 206 Events.

More value then was expected!

Troy and his team did a phenomenal job with running our company Christmas party that was at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Downtown Seattle! I personally heard tons of comments on how great the music, DJ and lighting was. Will definitely work with 206 Events in the future.

Amazing Party

Troy was a pleasure to work with. He made sure both I and my husband to be were happy with the music choices and helped keep both of us focused as we became overwhelmed with all of the music choices available. The plan/timeline he helped us put together was amazing and very helpful when it came to arranging with other vendors day-of. Day of he was there to set up and I didn't have to worry about a thing, I knew that I could trust him to be on top of any detail. He was an amazing emcee, the lighting details he added to the reception and dance party were on point, and the music was fun and kept the energy going! He was even able to capture a quiet moment that the photographer missed. I will certainly work with Troy and 206 events again for any future celebrations!

Troy and his partner of 206 Events were awesome! We met with him and it felt like we had known him for years. His experience gave us great confidence and his professionalism was exemplary. My mom’s one request for the wedding was to have a DJ that played great music and create an environment that inspired people to dance. Let me tell you, everyone was dancing and it was hard to get people to leave at the end of the night. The dance floor was full the entire night. Hire 206 Events for your wedding and you will not be disappointed!

Romie did a fantastic job at our August 26, 2017 RENTON HIGH SCHOOL 50 YEAR REUNION, held on the South shore of lake washington in the grand ballroom of Renton's beautiful new Hyatt Regency hotel.
We contacted Troy because of the stellar online reviews and we were never disappointed. Troy was great to deal with. He quickly agreed with us on a very reasonable rate and the entire contract/payment process was highly professional and surprise free.
The hotel was brand new and we were all concerned that the sound system may have some glitches. Troy and Romie on their own initiative communicated directly with the hotel and also attended our pre-event walk through. They used the hotel sound system and supplemented that with their own top notch speakers and lighting. Everything worked flawlessly, largely due to Romie's technical expertise with sound equipment of all varieties.
Romie played the music we requested and took requests from the dance floor throughout the evening. He is a first rate performer with lots of energy; who was able to generate great enthusiasm in our group of nearly 300 folks rapidly approaching 70 years of age. He's a very experienced DJ who really knows what he's doing. Beyond that, he's a fine person who was an absolute pleasure to work with.
We could not have asked for anything more--Romie and Troy are AWESOME!

Troy was fantastic! Right from the start, he shared his deep passion for entertainment, which was really important to us. He was incredibly knowledgeable of the industry, and had plenty of great ideas that we could bounce back and forth to see what would work. He was very professional and really attentive to our wishes. When it came to the day of, he was on point at all times. He allowed the ceremony/reception to flow naturally, and was a fantastic MC. You could also tell that he was having a great time, and got a lot of joy out of creating a fun party. I would strongly recommend 206 Events, because when we shared that the music and ambience of the night were very important to us, Troy delivered 100%.

The celebration of our daughter's wedding was one for the books and I attribute the day's success to Troy's incredible attention to detail.

Not only did he create a fantastic mix of songs to keep guests on the dance floor, Troy created the celebration's entire timeline....which included the wedding party's arrival to the venue, the bridal party's dinner entrance, family speeches, special dances, etc. Troy transitioned each aspect of the night with true class!

Furthermore, Troy was able to create music in two separate areas (the cocktail hour at Seattle Tennis Club's garden area by the water and also in the club's ballroom). The lighting and sound was perfect. The evening flowed seamlessly from start to finish and I am beyond thankful for his work.

My wife Amy and I were just married a couple of weeks ago and chose Troy at 206 Events to be our DJ. What a great decision that was on our part! Troy was one of the preferred DJ's recommended from the Hotel Sorrento and we could not be more happy with his services. Since we are from out of state, we could not do face to face meetings, but we had great phone initial consult and a meeting the week before the event to finalize details. He was very considerate of our preferences and very professional throughout the process. His lighting and sound system were outstanding, and the flow of music throughout the reception was well thought out. Troy has a great personality and was very helpful through the entire process leading up to the wedding, and at the event itself. Troy was an awesome emcee and DJ, really more of an event "producer" is the way to describe it. From the ceremony all the way to the final dance, he provided exceptional service and walked the perfect line of making announcements/interacting with guests and letting the evening flow on its own accord. Troy from 206 Events was our DJ at our wedding, and he was amazing! He's truly a professional - everything ran so smoothly and he immediately understood our taste in music and what we wanted at our wedding after a couple meetings. We had a very small wedding (40 people) and were worried that the dancing would fizzle out with such a small group, but Troy was so great that every danced all night! We got tons of comments after the wedding about how great Troy was. I can't imagine having a better DJ for our wedding!

Troy served as the DJ and MC for our wedding in August 2016. He was recommended to us by our planner Amber from Vows. We met with several DJs during our planning process, and he stood out to us right away--on top of being friendly and professional, he has an incredibly broad knowledge of musical genres--he can totally rock your event for you regardless of whether you're going for a top-40-style playlist or deep cuts off the beaten path. On our wedding day, he was prompt and a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He handled lighting, audio for our ceremony, all the music that took us from pre-ceremony through the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, provided microphones for the toasts, and helped direct the proceedings on mic throughout the night. Brought all of his own gear, so there was nothing extra we had to worry about. We really appreciated how well Troy read the room and chose tracks perfect for whatever was going on--he even caught notice of us having our first look while he was setting up, and played our first dance song for us then--it was such a wonderful way to add even more magic to the moment! After our wedding, he provided us with a Spotify playlist of all of the songs he used--we can now enjoy our wedding's music whenever we want. Really can't recommend Troy highly enough--total pro and a real class act.

We worked with Troy to DJ our wedding at Willow's Lodge in Woodenville. He was great to work with from the beginning, giving us tips for what to think about and immediately started asking questions to get an idea of how our day would go. He was very flexible, giving us a list of moments that we could choose songs for and using his own judgement for everything that we didn't feel like picking out ourselves. We left the dance party entirely up to him after giving a few favorite genres and it turned out great. He's got a great sense of timing and helps throughout the day with adjusting the schedule to fit the feel of the group, all very smooth and worry-free for us.

206 Events is wonderful. DJ Kryspin's personality, set up, and overall presentation were great. Our wedding guests leaned toward the older side, but he was able to get almost everyone out of their seats. He played a good mix of music that was from different genres and years. He also compliments his music mix with lighting which we found very impressive. Very likable, responsive, and knows how to read the crowd.

A lot of our guests complimented on our DJ selection, and we're so glad we chose them. You won't be disappointed.

We used 206 Events for our recent wedding and it was great. We met Troy at a wedding tasting event and he set us up with one of his DJ's, Kryspin, who was great. The music flowed well all evening and really transitioned perfectly into each phase of the evening. Both Troy and Kryspin were great at communication leading up to the event, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. I would definitely recommend!

Romie and Troy were wonderful to work with. Romie was our DJ for our wedding and he was able to set up music for two different locations beautifully. Romie had great energy and helped get the party going after our cake cutting. He was wonderful!!

Troy with 206 Events was awesome to work with!!! Not having a wedding planner we felt as though Troy took control and stepped in there to make the events of the day stay on schedule. He basically ran the show. He was also great at making suggestions on things we would have never thought of. I would highly recommend him and his team.

Troy was the first DJ I had called for our wedding and honestly I knew from the second I spoke with him, that he had his stuff together. My most important thing I look for in hiring someone is professionalism, being prepared, and very connectable. Troy had them all. He was so accommodating. Would totally hire him again!!!

We had an idea for a wedding that was a little unusual (outdoor wedding culminating in an all-night dance party in the woods). We wrote up our idea in an email and sent it out to the top 20-reviewed wedding planners on Yelp.

Of those, Troy was the ONLY person who truly embraced our vision, and was a huge help taking it from concept to execution.

At the event, he ran the gamut from sedate jazz at dinner to all-out rave at 2 AM. Excellent job reading the crowd, taking requests, and building an memorable night. Crystal clear sound quality and lighting rigs really took it next level.

HIGHLY recommend 206 Events! We specifically worked with Troy, who was SO easy to work with, flexible, responsive and played the best music! He really listened to what we did and did not want as far as genre choices. 206 Events was actually recommended to us by my (now) sister-in-law, who had them at her wedding 6 months before ours. Throughout the entire planning process, Troy was so responsive, enthusiastic and professional. I think Troy could have coordinated our entire day, he was so on top of all the details. Troy was receptive to the types of music we wanted, and also provided feedback and ideas when we asked. The day of our outdoor wedding, the weather started to turn and it got cold and it felt like it was going to rain. Troy was so flexible, and kept our events (cake cutting, first dances) outside to maintain the atmosphere, and then when it was time to dance, he kept the crowd's energy alive as he asked everyone to move inside. I think we could have easily lost some of our guests, but he made sure everyone came in and we had the greatest dance party. I heard from multiple guests that it was the best time they have ever had at a wedding, and I may be bias, but I agree. It was the best day of our lives and it wouldn't have been the same without Troy. I highly recommend him!

Troy at 206 events was our DJ for our wedding on 10/17/15 and did an absolutely amazing job! He met with us several times prior to our wedding to find out what our expectations were. The wedding itself was great party with everyone on the dance floor thanks to him! The lighting, setup, speakers were flawless and exactly what we wanted and he did an amazing job being not only the DJ but also the MC that kept everything extremely smooth. Troy was such an absolute professional and really fun to work with. When hiring a DJ we were very sensitive to our guests' experience - we knew the DJ has such a big impact on the "flow" of the day as well as the atmosphere of the party. So many people have told us that our wedding was amazing, and some have even said it was the best wedding they've been too, which is obviously an amazing thing to hear...and Troy deserves much of the credit for this! He "stage managed" everything so well. Our guests could hear our vows, the ceremony music was seamless, the dance party was amazing (many people have talked to us about how much fun they had dancing at our wedding!). He was easy to work with. We loved his website because it kept all key documentation in one place. We appreciated that he met us at our venue before the wedding and went through every line of our day-of timeline, then brought his own expertise in to make recommendations on how things might flow a bit differently or better. He coordinated perfectly with our day-of coordinator and photographer as well. My recommendation to engaged couples would be to remember that your DJ will have a big impact on the tone of your day and how things flow; it is not just about getting people to dance (although that is important too!). We felt that Troy delivered exactly what we were looking for - he has deep expertise in weddings and can really manage things in a way that helped us feel totally at ease in the knowledge that things would flow smoothly, and our guests would have a great time. We were so happy with Troy...and our guests were too!

We worked with Troy for our wedding in October. From the very first meeting, Troy really put us ease, asking questions about us and our musical tastes and the atmosphere we were trying to create for the wedding and reception. He was in control without being controlling and made us feel confident that he could handle whatever we threw at him. We communicated with him several times before the big day, passing song suggestions back and forth and making sure that everyone was clear about expectations. At the wedding itself, everything went exactly as planned. He was early to the venue to make sure that the setup was perfect and we were not worrying about anything. His lighting and placement contributed to the vibe in the room. His timing, volume and mix beautifully complemented the guest’s arrival, the cocktail hour, the ceremony and the dinner. When it was time to start the dance party, he really went all out, doing custom mixes of songs and interesting transitions that kept the guests on their feet for hours. At the end of the night, we heard from MULTIPLE guests that the party was the best they’d been to and that TROY was the big difference maker. We were very happy to have chosen him for our event.

Troy was excellent from the very beginning. We were out of town for the majority of the wedding planning and he made it as simple, convenient, and professional as possible. From the first consultation to week leading up to the wedding , he was always available and made sure that he developed a personal relationship with us and it really showed during the wedding. My now wife and I both have very busy schedules and Troy got everything done as we asked and much more. He was able to gauge the mood of the event and he hit every song at the perfect time. Dinner service was also an excellent mix and provided a great ambiance to our wedding. Once he meets with you and gets a flavor of your playlist, it's smooth sailing from there.

Troy was AWESOME! He was recommended by our venue, Willows Lodge, and once we met with him, we knew he would be the perfect DJ for us. He is so flexible, completely understands your style even if you can't explain it well, and reads the crowd so well. We had EVERYONE on the dance floor! So many of our guests came up to me during and after the wedding telling me how much fun they were having and how awesome he was...I even had someone say they want him for her upcoming NY wedding! Not only is Troy super fun, but he knows what he is doing. My husband and I had no idea the routine of weddings and he worked with the venue and photographer to keep us on a timeline and make the night go so smoothly, without bugging us at all- we didn't have to worry one bit. Troy is awesome. Do yourself a favor and hire him!!

Troy of 206 Events was an awesome DJ! We had a little more abnormal taste for wedding music including genres like dubstep and rock which other DJs refused to do. Troy was able to make the playlist fit us and made it really enjoyable for our guests as well! I got a number of compliments on the dinner music! The dance portion of the night was awesome as well! He was able to play toward the audience of people we had and was able to take requests and fit them in to our style! Thanks for making our wedding a great party!

We are glad we picked Troy to be our wedding DJ. He was very professional throughout the service from general enquiry to delivering a great DJ package on the night. Being passionate about music, Troy was sensitive to our taste and provided a great selection of music in the cocktail hour, general meal and dance party. 206 Events (Troy) deserves five stars because simply put, that is what he deserves. Last year we had an amazing Wedding that was supported by perfectly coordinated music (AV) from start to finish. Troy met with us several times prior to Wedding itself to understand the evening plans, understand us as a couple, and work with our Wedding Planner to make sure the event moved seamlessly.

Troy made the trek to Orcas Island to support live music played during the ceremony, vinyl spinning during dinner, and fantastic music to dance to (that was a perfect blend of what we wanted and what was needed as the night went on). In short, Troy is the DJ who knows what the crowd wants to hear without missing a beat and making sure that the energy is matched by the music in the room.

We had an fantastic Wedding and can't thank Troy enough for all he did.

I am not exaggerating in saying that choosing Troy as our DJ was one of the best decisions we made in preparing for our wedding. I was nervous about whether or not people would dance, and didn't know what music would be best for the crowd. I left a lot up to Troy and he did an amazing job. Our guests danced all night long. He ended up playing everything from classics, to top 40s, to country, and even some polkas (which I had forgotten to warn him about). In addition to playing the perfect songs at every moment, he basically acted as a wedding coordinator, keeping us on schedule, and ushering us and our guests through from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the reception. Working with him before and during the wedding could not have been an easier or more pleasant experience. I am so thankful to have picked him to work with!

Troy was a pleasure to work with for our wedding. He was professional, organized, and genuine. After our initial meeting, we already had complete faith in Troy and were at ease knowing he was in charge, and he did not disappoint. He completely understood what was important to us in terms of the music and tone we wanted to have set for the evening and he delivered fantastic results. My wife and I were married on Valentine's 2015 at the Sorrento and we hired Troy as a recommendation from a friend. We are both a little older and had some specific requests for music that ecompassed our era of music being early 90's music along with singer songwriter music from today and Troy worked flawlessly with us and even offered some suggestions as to songs that we may like better and we always did. He works great with the energy of the room recognizing what energy goes with what part of the night. The best part was the dancing afterwards during the reception. Everyone loved every song he kept the place rocking and was for my perfectionist wife and I... Perfect. We would hire him again and again and would recommend him effortlessly. The staff that do weddings constantly at the Sorrento even commented how great he was.

Troy was great to work with. He was very communicative, and we were completely put at ease when we had our last meeting with him, a week or so before our wedding. I had absolute confidence he'd run the event well, and he delivered. My husband and I didn't have much interest in selecting much music -- we supplied our first dance and the songs we wanted to dance with our parents, but left it up to Troy to select the rest. Everything was great! And there were always people on our dance floor (about 100 at the wedding, diverse ages). Would highly, highly recommend.

I can't recommend Troy more highly enough. Even the guests at our wedding commented on how great he was and how they wished they used him at their own weddings! If I could give Troy 10 stars, I would. Here's why:

Troy took the time to listen and find out what was important to us - he didn't have his own agenda/musical tastes that he pushed on us.
Troy made very helpful suggestions based on his experience - which was invaluable to us as this was our first (and only!) wedding.
Troy was incredibly professional, timely and responsive - and patient with our questions.
Troy was not offended by our "must play" and "do not play" songs and did an excellent job of weaving in our requests throughout the night.
Troy was fantastic with our friends and family - polite, personable, courteous and friendly.
Troy also helped with lighting (at an additional cost that didn't break the bank) with was a huge ambiance boost!

My only regret is that I won't be getting married again as I would love to have Troy DJ more events for me! You'd be a fool not to hire Troy and 206 Events for your next event.

Troy was the right choice for our Wedding DJ. We thought we were getting just a DJ, but ended up with a LOT more. He listened to our wishes/goals and helped us build a great party. He helped develop, coordinate, and run our event making sure things happened when they were supposed to...a service we greatly needed and appreciated! He was very professional and accommodating to all our requests and gave us much needed advice and assistance. During our event, the music was great, the lighting was great, the microphones worked great...really an excellent experience. The feedback we've received from our guests is "that was the best wedding I've been too". I have no doubt this was because of Troy and his excellent services. Troy was an incredible DJ, more than my wife and I had expected when we were planning our wedding. We searched for a DJ and Troy was the first person we met with and that's all we needed. Not only was he professional, but what was more impressive to us was he was very personal and approachable, this wasn't just a job he wanted to form a relationship with his clients to be able to provide what WE wanted. His knowledge of handling events was very much expressed in our meetings and shown during our event. He kept our wedding running smooth, made it a point to get to know our guests and was very in tune with what would receive the best results according to our guests. Our experience with 206 Events could not have gone any better!

Troy took the time to get to know us, listening to our ideas, and had great solutions for some of the crazier ideas that we had with lighting. The day-of installation was effortless, the parts of the night transitioned seamlessly from cocktails to ceremony to kiss to reception to dinner to dancing. I never worried once that something might not go right!

Working with 206 Events was amazing, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for a party of any size.

Hiring Troy/206 Events for our wedding was absolutely the best decision we made throughout the entire planning process. He is so much more than a DJ and I have no doubt that our wedding would not have come together so perfectly if we hadn't had Troy there helping us. This could easily be the longest review I write if I list off all the reasons why hiring 206 Events was the best thing that happened to our wedding! Thank you Troy for giving us such an amazing day!

Troy was fantastic and helped me push a surprise 40th birthday party for my wife over the top. He dressed to our "western cowboy" theme, made fantastic music choices and got the crowed dancing later in the evening. The party would not have been what it was had it not been for his great DJ services. Im thrilled I choose him for the party.

I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR TROY! When our original DJ chose to work a different event and bailed on our wedding, Troy was there to reassure us and make our dream wedding a reality. He met with us on multiple occasions; an initial meeting, a planning meeting at our venue, and again a couple weeks before the big day to finalize the timeline. He worked with our coordinator to make our day flow seamlessly. Troy appreciated our love of music and made a playlist that truly reflected our personalities. He provided music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. All night people commented on how great the music was! Troy also provided uplighting that really made our venue even more spectacular and helped to get the dance party really going. In addition, he respected our desire to really make the evening about family and helped to create a warm, welcoming party where everyone felt included. Troy went above and beyond any of our expectations for what a DJ would bring to our wedding and I am truly thankful he was part of our day.

Troy was above and beyond my expectations! It started the minute I filled out his online question/survey regarding the event he was on it! We spoke immediately and gave him my ideas and plans for the event. He was friendly, professional, willing to work with myself and friends to pull off the ultimate event! The music was perfect! The lighting the sound were all mixed together so you could enjoy every song but keep everyone on the dance floor. He took requests; he played a number of classics during dinner and was great at feeling out the mood of the party. He was the best DJ I've ever worked with and I wish him great success!!! My friends and family really enjoyed the whole event and Troy was a big part of making it a success! Thanks!

Troy was extremely responsive! The lighting he provided completely set the mood for the ceremony and reception!! He went out of his way to create the perfect setting!! I would hire him again in a heartbeat!!

Troy is outstanding. When we began our wedding planning, we thought we'd have my brother in law oversee the music. Our venue coordinator suggested Troy instead, and we couldn't be happier with his DJ and uplighting services. He kept the reception running smoothly, he adjusted accordingly, but was so well-planned and prepared for just about anything. His uplighting was a touch I didn't think I wanted, but it made our reception setting even more magical! If you're looking for a professional, thoughtful, responsive, flexible DJ, pick Troy.

I highly recommend Troy! He was very responsive, easy to get a hold of and very professional. When we started the wedding planning process, we had originally thought we weren't going to need a DJ. We were going to do the iPod thing and, boy, am I glad we didn't. Troy was well worth the money we spent, and having him there really brought the mood up a whole notch! Everyone really enjoyed the selection of music and I can't say enough how great it was to work with him. For anyone that is on the fence about what a Professional DJ can bring you, the best thing they bring are another set of eyes on your big day. Troy was very attentive to the guests, my wedding party and us; it was like having another wedding planner in the room! He was also very adaptable - when our family friend didn't have a recessional song, he stepped in and was prepared to fill in! We just loved Troy!

Troy rocked at our wedding. From his initial contact to his closing song, he was friendly and professional. He was totally accommodating to our specific song needs, and he has a great "master of ceremonies" voice and demeanor. There were absolutely no issues with Troy, I'd strongly recommend him to anyone who wants peace-of-mind with their DJ choice.

Troy was great! I am an older bride (55) and he adapted beautifully to our crowd. Everyone was up and dancing and having a fun time--all ages. It was a brunch and I didn't know if dancing in the middle of the day would work but Troy made it fun and natural. In addition, he served as the emcee and did that beautifully too.

Troy Whalen with 206 Events was great to work with! He was our DJ at our fundraiser earlier this month and was very responsive prior to the event and was fantastic the day of the event. He was on time and ready to go before our guests arrived and played family friendly music like we had requested. All of our guests were having fun, dancing to his music and complimented his services after the event. We would love to have Troy join us at future events.

We have nothing but positive reviews for 206 events. We received a recommendation from a friend to speak with Troy, after we struck out at the Seattle wedding show. We are SO glad that we called him. Troy was incredibly thorough, detail oriented, and responsive. Unlike some other services where you can pick each individual song that you do and do not want played, Troy learns about your vision for the ceremony and reception, and builds a play list from there.
Our initial meeting was at a coffee shop where we learned about his business and services that he can offer. We signed a contract a week or so later via email. We reconnected with him about 7 months later as the wedding day approached. We sat down for about 60-90 minutes. He went through the order of events point by point from set up to tear down. He had some mock-up playlists on his laptop that he demo-ed for us. We finalized all of the first-dance songs, and he answered any lingering questions.
The day of the wedding was seemless. He actually visited our venue in his own time to scout it out, so he was very well prepared. There were no glitches. We rented his uplighting which we highly recommend! His choice in music was perfect for our taste and that of our guests. The dance floor was nonstop until we closed down for the night.
In summary, you will not go wrong with 206. Troy is on top of the details so you don't have to be. He is also a genuinely nice guy, who has your happiness at the forefront of his mind. Pleasure to work with, and obviously very highly recommended by us. Thanks Troy!

Troy went above and beyond to make our wedding great, and he was by far my favorite vendor! He is a true professional and has experience in the catering industry, as well as DJing, so he really understands the flow of a wedding from start to finish.

Troy met with us on two separate occasions - an initial meeting and a final meeting a few weeks before the wedding - to get an idea of our expectations, tastes in music, the feel of the wedding etc. He really understood us as a couple and what we were looking for and was able to translate that into an awesome dance party at our reception! We had guests of all ages, and everyone was on the dance floor the entire time because he really knows how to keep a crowd moving. Troy also did the music for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and he was spot on with both of these too.

Not only was Troy a great DJ during the evening, but he was also a great emcee since our venue had 3 different locations for all of the evening's events. He was able to get people from place to place in a friendly, efficient manner.

One thing I was a little unsure about before the wedding was the "uplighting" Troy convinced us to get at the reception. I am no longer a doubter….these were AWESOME!!! Troy provided lights that created a really pretty atmosphere during dinner, and once the dancing started, they really helped to get the party going. Get these and you won't regret it!

We had many, many guests tell us Troy was the best DJ they had ever heard at a wedding, and I wholeheartedly agree!

We hired Troy for a big wedding on Aug 5 this year, and he did an amazing job from start to finish. We spoke with several DJs, but ended up choosing Troy because he came into our first meeting with a super detailed proposed outline of how he'd handle the evening, a map of our venue, and a request for the info of other vendors so he could sync up with them all. We had a couple more face-to-face meetings, including a walkthrough meeting at the venue, which was a great way to outline (closer to the wedding) exactly how things would be laid out on the day of.

The day of the wedding, we literally danced until our feet went numb! We have friends who are serious DJ snobs and they came up to us to tell us how awesome they thought Troy and his assistant were. Even my uncle who has severe mobility issues was dancing -- THAT'S how good it was. Troy and his assistant did an amazing job of reading the crowd, too, and responding with the right song at the right time.

I'd happily recommend 206 to anyone. It was an amazing night, and the music was a huge part of making our day great.

Troy was the only music source for our wedding and did a fantastic job. DJ Troy is exactly what you look for in a wedding DJ- professional, personable, honest, as much MCing as is necessary but never imposing, and most importantly, exactly what is advertised. When we met with Troy, he had thought of so many of the event-pieces such as lighting, coordination with the officiant and caterers for timing. He has a background in not only DJ work but event planning, and it shows. Picking the DJ was one of the more risky decisions of the event and you cannot go wrong with DJ Troy. The playlist I put together was executed seamlessly. I can't tell you how many guests were pumped on how the night on the dance floor played out. Don't fret, you're in good hands with DJ Troy!

We were married in Kirkland, Washington on April 11, 2015. My wife and I interviewed a number of DJs and found Troy to be professional, friendly, organized and comfortable. Some of the other DJs were a bit awkward and we wanted a DJ who could handle our guests!

Troy guided us through the process, prompting us to provide feedback along the way. This was great because we were busy with planning the wedding and Troy was able to take a small sample of our music and create several playlists for the evening, all of which we liked -- even though we provided him information fairly late in the process.

Troy was great on the day-of event. He visited with guests, handled requests, and stayed in the background when appropriate. Everything went very smoothly - there were no issues.

We would definitely recommend Troy and 206 Events to other couples.

Troy was great. He was very prepared and rolled with our flow. He covered our ceremony beautifully and was a fantastic announcer during the reception. At the end of the night his assistant came on board. His assistant had some weird transitions and I would have liked the requests to be more responsive but overall it was a wonderful night.

We had Troy DJ at our wedding a couple weeks ago and leading up to it we felt great and thought he understood what our vision was. The day of the wedding he decided to change the lighting without letting us know despite what we told him in our consultation. Due to it being such a busy day, neither me or my husband had a chance to see the lighting at the alter until we saw pictures the next day. He made it a bright pink background when we had insisted on white. Not only were we mad about this major mistake, but the fact that he didn't try to make the situation better. He called us but never did he attempt to mend the situation; he simply claimed that we left the lighting up to his discretion. Now we may have to pay our photographer more money to attempt to completely change the color of the alter in our ceremony pictures.

Please disregard Troy's comment to my post below. He is being deceitful and making false claims regarding the situation and how he is handling it.
