Interlaken Honeymoon

What better way to celebrate officially becoming a couple than honeymooning in Interlaken, a city of twos! Situated between two stunning lakes and offering two different experiences in summer and winter, it’s the perfect backdrop to start your own love story. It’s the gateway to the beautiful Jungfrau region and has excellent links making it an ideal base to explore the area. Interlaken is called the adventure capital of Europe for a reason with everything from glacier walking to bungee jumping in the summer to heli-skiing and sledging in the winter. Or if you and your significant other are culture buffs, lose yourself in picture-perfect castles like Oberhofen, medieval mountain villages like Bonigen and even learn how to blow an alphorn! Foodies will love the chance to taste real smooth Swiss chocolate or dip into a sumptuous cheese fondue. In the winter, hit the slopes and afterwards, indulge in mulled wine and a hot tub in a romantic log cabin. In the summer take a horse-carriage ride around the city before hiking to a vista of some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

With fairytale-like scenery and lots to do, Interlaken is an incredible place for a romantic honeymoon.

When to Go

Interlaken offers something for everyone all year round. June to September are excellent times for hiking and summer activities with September being a good balance between fine weather and less crowds than the peak in August. January to March sees the best time for snow and cozying up. April and May are the low season and many of the hotels and facilities may close or run a reduced schedule but it can be a good time for lower hotel rates and to see the meadows start to come into bloom. October to December is the other low season with the days getting shorter and colder but most ski resorts not open yet. December is a great time to visit some traditional Christmas markets.
