Where do I even begin, writing a review for the loveliest, most patient, TALENTED, kind, accommodating vendor we could have dreamt of working with? Selena is somehow sweeter than her unbelievable cakes. She and I made a quick and strong connection that grew over months of emails, all for the love of cake!!! We went back and forth on our wedding cake design, where she would offer beautiful renderings that helped my vision really come to life. She never made me feel like the updates or changes I wanted to see were an inconvenience to her, or that she was trying to simplify or streamline the process. It was an extremely personalized experience, from start to finish (which ended with a phone call in which my husband and I poured our hearts out to her 🥹) We felt like the lucky ones, to be able to work with such a talent, who made a special trip all the way from Savannah, GA to hand deliver our beautiful, ethereal masterpiece on our wedding day. Our cake was one of the most important details to us on our big day, and the beauty of the cake blew us away, as well as our guests, as expected! Every time I look at a photo I notice a new detail that made the cake remarkably “ours” (Hello, jasmine petals 😭😭😭) The design melted perfectly into our decor, floral, and color scheme details beyond every dream. We know we will be working with Selena in the coming years, for anniversary tiers, and other sweet celebrations 🩷

Selena was the best decision! I knew I wanted to book her before we even got engaged based on her beautiful cakes. Dessert was extremely important to us and she did not disappoint! The tasting was beautiful and she was very responsive during the planning process. She was so easy to work with and ensured we ended up with the most beautiful cake, macarons, and cream puffs. I was in awe of the final result! It was the most beautiful cake I've seen and tasted even better! All of our guests complimented us on how amazing the dessert was. Multiple gusts said they had 2-3 pieces of cake even though they were full. Selena is also the one of the nicest people you will ever communicate with. It's a no brainer to book Selena. You will have an unmatched luxury product and experience at an extremely reasonable price. I can't wait to see the professional photos of the cake!

When looking for the perfect bakery for our wedding - Vanilla & The Bean was at the top of my list. As a wedding planner in Charleston, I have seen lots and lots of wedding cakes - so I was hoping to work with someone that could create something unique, yet reflective of our aesthetic. I had seen Selena's work, and always admired it -- so when we chose to get married in Beaufort, SC it was an easy decision to hire Vanilla & The Bean!

Her cakes are not only beautiful - but DELICIOUS. We had the Brown Butter& Butterscotch, Funfetti and Buttermilk Chocolate for our cake. Guests raved about the cake throughout the evening. My elderly grandfather, who was not eating much at the time of our wedding - had MULTIPLE slices (which surprised everyone). Safe to say, we are counting down the days until we can have a bite of our anniversary tier.

Overall, I am so lad we worked with Selena for our big day -- and I look forward to hiring her for many future brides!!

From the beautiful, delicious, gorgeously curated tasting session she put together, through the exciting concept/design conversations, to the actual wedding day/whole shebang, Selena hit it out of the park with everything! She created three STUNNING, creative, colorful cakes and adorable mini-Millefoglie for us that people are still raving about 10 months later. We went with her Funfetti flavor and, wow, what a crowd pleaser. We ordered more than we needed but did not have a crumb of anything left over— everyone DEVOURED the desserts. My family fell in love with Selena (she a is truly wonderful person), and we are so grateful to her for making our wedding cake(s) both spectacular and special.

Selena created the most beautiful & classic wedding cake for my wedding! Not to mention it tasted amazing and all my guests raved about it. My husband and I wanted to include our pup somewhere on the cake and it turned out adorable. Selena was an absolute pleasure to work with and her work of art was a delicious hit on our big day! From the beginning, communication with Selena wasn’t a business transaction, it was more like an instant friend who was excited to be a part of your special day! From a drop off tasting box dropped off at our hotel while taking engagement photos, to emails and phone calls regarding design and flavor, nothing seemed like an issue to Selena. The hardest part of the whole process was picking which delicious flavor to have. We are so glad we went with Vanilla & The Bean!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Selena is so sweet and is truly invested in making sure she brings your vision to life. Not only did her creation come out better than my Inspo pictures, but it tasted absolutely amazing. Everyone STILL raves about our cake! Quite a few guests exclaimed, “I do not like cake, but that cake was DELICIOUS!”. From our first interaction to today, Selena has been just so amazing and communicative. My husband and I got married in Savannah in April 2022 after 2.5 years of planning from NYC during COVID. From the moment I spoke with Selena, I knew Vanilla + The Bean was the perfect fit. Baking is a passion of mine and it was very important to both my husband and I that we had a great cake - and Selena did not disappoint! In addition to her incredible flavors (we had the Signature Olive Oil and I’ll Take a Cheesecake, Please flavors), she created such an elegant cake! Since we had to cancel our trip to Savannah for our initial vendor interviews/tastings, Selena sent us two boxes with pieces of all the flavors we were considering - and she sent a box to my matron of honor in another state so she and her husband could participate in the tasting with us!

Selena also recommended a pre-slice option (using a faux cake with a piece of real cake for cake-cutting but then individually pre-cutting all the guest slices for the caterer to serve). This turned out not only to be a great option for COVID precautions but also 1) the cake slices were picture perfect & even and 2) it worked out because the gnats were swarming around out faux cake and got stuck in the icing!

I honestly cannot recommend Vanilla + The Bean highly enough! Selena is truly an artist - not only for her flavors and textures but in every design detail! We cannot wait for our Anniversary tier just to have her cake again!

Selena was absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish. The whole process felt so personalized, from the cake tasting to the cake design and flavor selection. All of the flavors that we tasted were so delicious, and she even developed a custom flavor for our wedding. The design of the cake absolutely blew me away – she truly creates pieces of art. My husband and I hired Vanilla & The Bean to create a small cake for our micro-wedding last month. From our first interaction, Selena was wonderful and super easy to work with. We loved how personable and enthusiastic she was. She sent us a helpful welcome packet and nailing down what we wanted was a breeze. She had no issues with any of our requests and was happy to accommodate us. She sent us a beautiful and professional proposal and we knew we had made the right choice.

On the big day, we weren’t around for the cake delivery but I assume everything went totally fine! The cake was gorgeous and delicious. The top was chocolate with a layer of blackberry mascarpone cream and the bottom was brown butter butterscotch. We all loved it! We highly recommend Vanilla & The Bean. Thanks for everything Selena!
