Mariam was absolutely fabulous! She perfectly and beautifully captured our day and was a dream to work with. I was having somewhat of a meltdown about 4 weeks before the wedding from overwhelm and trying to get the final details together while living states away and she helped me stay calm and finalize details like timeline which was a huge help and made me feel SO much better. She provided such a calm and organized energy to our day and kept everyone on track with kindness and grace. We got our preview back almost immediately and I was shocked with the amount of photos we received! We are over the moon with our total album and feel so thankful to have gotten the opportunity to work with Mariam!

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I could ever have wedding photos this beautifully shot with a multitude of precious moments so thoroughly captured. There is no doubt that Mariam has an undeniable, god-given talent as a photographer, her portfolio speaks volumes for itself. But what stood her apart from the rest was how genuinely kind and thoughtful and easygoing she is. I must have spoken with close to 150 photographers before meeting Mariam. I am extremely high-maintenance and can be soooo picky, especially when it comes to something as important as wedding photos.
When we met with Mariam, there was no BS lip service, no unrealistic promises. No arrogance or haughtiness as I’ve felt with other photographers. We felt so at ease, as if we were speaking with a long-time friend. Immediately after our initial zoom call, my husband and I locked eyes, and said “she’s the one”. We had booked her on Mariam and Umair’s 7 year anniversary, and on that same weekend, she was visiting LA and popped by our venue and hotel to scope out shoot locations. I was like ?? This lady is insane. But like, in the best way.
Through the many months that followed leading up to the wedding, Mariam kept in contact with us, checking in and making sure we were hitting our deadlines, calming my nerves, hyping me up, etc. And she was so flexible with all the changes and switches we've had to make, regarding timelines and whatnot. We would talk about funny shows we were watching and swap titles, there was not a dull moment with her. It’s been an absolute honor to get to get to befriend someone as funny and effortlessly cool as she. Day of the wedding, Mariam arrives earlier than our start time to help get everything in order. Even my bridesmaids kept commenting on how well organized, resourceful, and professional she was while also making the girls feel comfortable. She perfectly captured all the tender moments, the funny moments that I had only heard through the grapevine, so to see those moments captured on film was an absolute shocker to me. She was everywhere, all at once.
I’ve gone through many of Mariam’s full wedding albums so I had pretty high expectations of her going into this. Fast forward to 4 days post-wedding, to say that my expectations have been exceeded would have been a massive understatement. And mind you, these are just preview photos. Everything from the aesthetic to the posing and direction she gave us, resulted in STUNNING photos. I had no Idea that I could look this good, but Mariam worked her magic. Everything I could’ve possibly asked for, all the shots I had in my inspo were replicated. Not a single thing was missed, not a minute late we ran, all thanks to Mariam. You truly won’t be able to find as skilled and professional a photographer as Mariam without shelling out at least double her asking price. Trust me on this, I’ve thoroughly researched 150+ of them.
We booked a photographer, and were lucky enough to come out of it with a badass friend. Thank you Mariam, you have been such a blessing in our lives, we are lucky to have had the opportunity to work with you. I can’t even recount all the ways you’ve gone above and beyond in helping us plan and making our day so special. We cannot thank you enough for all that you’ve done, and we cannot wait to see more of your beautiful work with the next lucky brides and grooms.

Mariam is the sweetest, most helpful, and talented photographer I could have lucked out coming across via facebook. I could not be more grateful for her flexibility, hard work, amazing eye, and kindness when it came to planning and executing my elopement in the Santa Cruz redwoods. My now husband and I had cancelled our big wedding in Santa Barbara, and with COVID getting worse and our parents being on the older side - we decided in June to get married ASAP with just our immediate family (parents and sisters). I was excited, nervous, terrified - and we put everything together in roughly 4 weeks, so I was distracted by a million things. But Mariam not only did research for areas that would be aesthetically pleasing to shoot in (I'm not familiar with the Santa Cruz area) but got me info on permits and even how walkable certain trails are in the state parks because my father is mobility limited. Who does that?? I was blown away. I cannot express enough what a GEM of a human being Mariam is, and how ridiculously delicious, dramatic, and exquisite her photographs of our wedding are. The photos from our wedding make me cry almost every time I look at them - I had no idea my husband and I could look that good. 11/20 recommend, you're seriously losing out if you do not book this photographer for your wedding/engagement/event.

We can't rave more about Miriam if we tried!! She did our engagement session and wedding day photography and we are in love with every shot. She made us so comfortable and had the best time. Her editing style is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Thank you, Miriam, for everything. You are amazing!!

Choosing Theory Image for all of your wedding photography needs is the BEST decision you could make.
Photography was a priority for me when wedding planning. My biggest hope was finding a photographer who is an expert in capturing the moments that I couldn't add to a photo wishlist ahead of time: emotion, experiences, and the "unexpected" that happens during every wedding. Mariam and Abdur not only met those expectations but surpassed them by a long shot. They captured the genuine love I felt as I looked across the dance floor to my husband, the joy we felt to finally say "I do", the only time in my life that I've seen my Dad cry - the list goes on!
Not only are the photos incredible, but Mariam and Abdur are also kind, thoughtful people to work with. They took their time to get to know my husband and me. They learned about what was important to us, to capture within their photography. They were creative and flexible (emphasizing how important flexibility is with special events, especially in the time of COVID)! They both helped us feel comfortable and supported on our special day. Also, we had a party of 20 people, which typically would not be easy to work with that many people. They did a phenomenal job managing, capturing, and bringing joy to such a large group. So much so, that the members of the party continue to rave about Mariam and Abdur!
When we first met, I asked Mariam countless questions. I was nervous about the number of photos, what they would look like (and all of the typical nerves when meeting with a photographer)! In our final album, we received over 1,400 photos and we're in love with them. Not to mention, Theory Image's sneak peek gives a glimpse into every moment of the day - there were so many photos, which is so special to look through while still being on the "wedding high". Both the sneak peek and the album came in such a timely manner, which is so deeply appreciated!
Needless to say, I would recommend Theory Image time and time again. Easily the best spent money from the wedding budget. Thank you, Mariam and Abdur! You made our experience even better than we ever could've hoped for!
