My sewing business began as a dream, when I was a little girl of 9. I saw a sewing machine toy that actually worked for tweens just learning to sew. I drooled over that sewing machine and wanted one so bad but it wasn't for my age group so I learned to hand stitch instead. My first attempts at age 9 just to thread a needle were very frustrating and I remember crying to my mother because I couldn't get the thread thru the eye of that needle. After much practice and hand sewing all thru my teen years I got a McDonald's job at age 16 and bought my first sewing machine. Now I had to learn how to thread a machine and a bobbin and learn to sew all over again but I was determined! Today I am 42 years old and I own Virginia Designs and Alterations LLC , a business that I started after I designed and made my own wedding gown and my bridesmaid's dresses. At age 9 I never thought that I would one day make my passion into my profession. So when I say I have 32 years of experience, I am counting those years when I 1st learned to thread the eye of that needle. We are Virginia Designs and Alterations LLC
