Formed in 2016, The Rhapsody String Quartet is the Northeast Iowa, Southeast Minnesota, and Southwest Wisconsin tri-state area's premier string quartet. Adding elegance and sophistication to any event, we specialize in performing for weddings, cocktail hours, corporate events, parties, and more.

We play everything from Beethoven to The Beatles! Our extensive repertoire includes traditional wedding music, classical string quartets, favorite pop and rock hits, and personal requests. We provide a musical concierge service and will work with you to pick musical selections that you love and fit your event.

Our decades of experience with and expertise in music selection, timing, performance, and professionalism will make your occasion memorable, meaningful, and stress-free. It would be an honor to provide the soundtrack to your special day!

The Rhapsody String Quartet Rates

Wedding Ceremony

$1,500 / Ceremony

We will work with you to pick meaningful music for each part of your ceremony. This includes 15 minutes of prelude music, family seating and bridal party processional music, the bride's entrance, music during the ceremony, recessional music, and 15 minutes of postlude music. Attendance at the wedding rehearsal is an extra fee, but is not needed. We have played at many weddings and will gather information about the size of your bridal party and other details of the ceremony to perfect timing.

Included in the Wedding Ceremony Package:

• Musical Concierge Service - We will work with you to pick music that is meaningful to you and works well for each part of the ceremony.

• Special Musical Requests - Want to walk down the aisle to your favorite song? We can do that! Additional fee may apply, see below.

• Collaboration With Other Musicians - We can perform with other musicians, such as vocalists or pianists. Additional fee may apply, see below.

• Perfect Timing - Unexpected things can happen. Do you need the music extended or cut short? We have played for hundreds of weddings and will adapt in the moment to ensure the music flows seamlessly.

• Portable - Getting married in a small church, outside, or a unique location? We can set up anywhere and position ourselves for the best sound, no electricity or sound system needed!

• Live Music - You get a live, professional, classical music performance on your special day! This is something that can't be replicated with an iPod and is a special memorable treat for your guests.

Cocktail Hour or Parties

$1,500 / Hour

You let us know what you would like for the musical mood (classical, pop songs, love songs, et cetera) and any special requests and we will play for an hour from our repertoire books. If we are playing for multiple hours, we will take a short few-minute break at the top of each hour. **A discount may apply if a cocktail hour is booked in conjunction with a wedding or party.**

Travel & Mileage

$0.685/mile

We regularly travel within the tri-state area of Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. We are willing to travel within a ~1-hour drive of Decorah, Iowa. A mileage charge will be added for travel to venues outside of a 15-mile one-way radius of Decorah, Iowa. We use the current mileage rate multiplied by the miles and number of trips for the driver and riders. We all carpool together! Please contact us and we will calculate what the additional mileage charge will be.

Special Requests

We love to expand our repertoire! New music not already in our repertoire may incur an additional cost. This is because special requests necessitate that we purchase sheet music, do a custom arrangement, or need significantly more rehearsal time. If need be, we can coordinate with other musicians, such as pianists or vocalists, and rehearse before the ceremony. If you have a song or collaboration in mind for your special day, please let us know and we will let you know what the additional fee will be.
