Quail and Dove do such amazing work. We were confident from looking at the films on their website and talking to them that they would do great work, but even so it exceeded all our expectations. Jim and Melissa are thoughtful, creative, professional, and great to be around, which made for a really great experience throughout the process - from planning to filming, and production of our wedding film.

Our wedding video perfectly depicted us as a couple and the mood/vibe of our wedding day. Everything from the music choice, to the transitions/editing, to the drone footage, to the quick detailed shots made our film extra special. We’ve watched our video countless times now and are all smiles each time. Overall, we are left with this overwhelming amount of gratitude; we feel so honored to have Melissa and Jim film our special day and would definitely hire them again.

Planning: After filling out their intake form, we met in a zoom meeting where Jim and Melissa asked a bunch of questions about us and our love story. They were able to truly get a grasp for who my husband and I are and what style/vibe we were aiming for.

Adventure session: Working with them was a blast; they made the adventure session truly feel like an adventure and everything felt super natural. We were kind of worried initially as we both have never done anything like this before. We were not entirely sure on how to act while being filmed, but they were great at giving us direction and guidance on how to show our love for one another in a way that felt the most natural for us. It truly felt like my husband and I were on a date and just had friendly paparazzi do coverage!

Day of Wedding: Melissa and Jim were prompt and easy to contact. They filmed everything from us getting ready to even a mini adventure session post wedding! They captured special moments during our ceremony, during our reception and everything in between. They had asked us specifically what we wanted; we mentioned we’d love to have drone footage of us driving away as newlyweds and what came from that was far beyond our expectations!

Communication: Super easy and quick to communicate with them! They are very responsive in their emails and usually reply back within 24 hours.

After: They made sure to stay just as active in their communication with us after the wedding and sent us a fun 1-min sneak peek pretty quickly. We received our full length film along with the Super 8 Film Raw footage soon after and again, it was more than we could’ve ever imagined.

We couldn’t recommend The Quail and the Dove more highly and were blown away by the Oscar- award winning quality of our wedding video. Jim and Melissa are incredibly talented and not only captured our day, but put the video together in such an intentional way that bought out the feelings of joy, excitement, nervousness and love that made our special day so special.

Jim and Melissa had great energy and were kind, calm, funny, fun and professional! They gave us helpful tips and recommendations before and during the wedding that helped enhance film quality and made our video and wedding more personal! Their presence throughout the day was positive and reassuring :)

There’s so much going on on the day of the wedding, it can be difficult to take it all in. One of the things I loved the most was how Melissa and Jim captured the micro moments - friends dancing, photo-booth silliness, family embracing, and different aspects of our venue. Every time I watch the videos I pick up something new that I hadn’t seen before.

We loved our teaser and full wedding video so much, that we also purchased recordings of the ceremony, speeches and dances. Our February 2020 wedding was right before the pandemic hit, and these videos have allowed us to relive the best day of our life time and time again.

The Quail and The Dove exceeded our expectations, and we will treasure these videos for the rest of our lives. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Jim and Melissa, and would work with them again in a heartbeat!

As a wedding planner, Melissa and Jim are the dream vendors that I wish I can work with for all of my events. Their correspondence via email was quick and thorough, asking questions that only professionals know to ask.

My clients also booked an adventure session with them the week of the wedding, and afterward, they could not stop raving about how much fun Melissa + Jim were! They have a skill that brings out the natural and genuine fun in their couples.

Come wedding day, they were on time, responsive, and ~chill~ (can't stress enough how important this is for the wedding day!). It's great working with a team that is cool, calm, and collected. Booking The Quail and the Dove to film our tiny wedding was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding.

We reached out to Jim and Melissa praying they were available for our wedding date and to our pleasant surprise they were (I literally cried).

They were responsive, friendly and professional every step of the way. Not to mention they made our wedding day so much fun. One concern of mine was how awkward I get in front of the camera and they made the experience fun and comfortable. Taking our shots in the desert was one of my favorite parts of our wedding day.

We already have our teaser video AND our full length video within three weeks of our wedding date and I'm miraculously not awkward in any of it.

My husband and I were lucky enough to have The Quail and the Dove at our wedding last year and they did the most AMAZING job capturing our favorite day ever. We cannot rave enough about The Quail & The Dove to all our friends and family. Wedding videos can sometimes start to all look the same, and we really wanted a unique perspective on things. From their song selection, their artistic take on things, and their desire to really get to know us and tell our story, we were completely blown away by our experience with Jim & Melissa. We met with them the evening before our wedding to do an adventure session, and it was just a special opportunity to really have time with my husband-to-be, away from all the busyness and stress of everything. We felt like we had known them for so long, and we were just so comfortable with them. On the wedding day, they really captured all the details of our wedding. We've watched our teaser and our full wedding video more times than we can count. We coudn't have imagined having a wedding without them there. There were so many things that we didn't get to see during the wedding because we had almost 300 guests, and it was just so special that they were able to capture it all for us. Some of our wedding guests are professional photographers or videographers, and they commented on how well made the finished product was, how good the sound quality was for our vows, and how professional The Quail & The Dove are. We can't agree more and wholeheartedly recommend them for any couples getting married out there. Even our photographer, who has worked in the wedding industry for over 10 years, and has worked with so many different videographers over the years, has started recommending all of her brides to The Quail & The Dove, which speaks volumes about their talent. They're in high demand, so my advice would be to reach out to them well before your wedding date to make sure they have availability.

Two years before our wedding my wife saw a video that The Quail & The Dove had produced for a friend’s wedding and knew that they were the right choice for us (despite not even being engaged yet). When we first met with Jim and Melissa we immediately felt at ease and knew we were in good hands. Not only do they put together incredible cinematic videos but they also take the time to get to know you on a personal level to help better understand who you are as a couple and what you would like to capture on your big day.

We opted to add the Adventure Session to our wedding video which ended up being a great decision! Jim and Melissa came to our home in San Diego a day early and were able to record us playing on the beach with our pup and riding bikes on the boardwalk. They went above and beyond by capturing some epic drone footage and we even had Jim doing sprints on the beach to get the perfect action shots! It really captured who we are as a couple and showcased the beautiful scenery around us. As this was all new to us they did an great job helping to direct us while not making it feel staged.

Our wedding day went flawlessly and The Quail & The Dove captured every moment of it with ninja-like stealth. It’s incredible how they were able to get all of the shots they needed without feeling like they were in our face or obtrusive in the party. In fact, we and our guests hardly noticed them during cocktail hour and the reception, yet they were able to capture all of the best moments.

The turnaround time to get our "teaser" video was incredibly quick and gave us and our guests a quick 60 second recap of our special day. The final video ended up being better than we could have ever imagined. Jim and Melissa took the time to make any edits or background music substitutions that we threw at them. It's true that you get what you pay for when choosing a videographer and we could not have been happier with our decision to choose The Quail & The Dove!

Jim and Melissa were wonderful from the start! They created such a fun and comfortable atmosphere and were such a joy to spend our wedding day with! Already just two weeks after our wedding we have received our teaser videos and I couldn’t be more pleased! Their ability to capture our day and all the feelings in just 30 seconds is amazing, I can’t wait to see the final product. I feel so lucky to have had The Quail and Dove document our day!
