Marriam did a beautiful job on our wedding cake!! I explained what I was looking for and showed her a picture of a similar design and she got it perfect!! The cake was delicious also!

Marriam Khan is the most creative, artistic and talented baker I have had the occasion to order a custom made cake from. I am the mother of the groom and needed a cake for our Chinese Tea Ceremony. Marriam went on the internet, obtained pictures of tea ceremony cake ideas and we ended up with cakes decorated so beautifully that our cake section was the highlight of the tea ceremony brunch.

I would highly recommend her cakes any time. The gluten free chocolate cake that she had made for our occasion was so moist and delicious that 6 months later, our friends still talk about it.

I first heard about The Little Purple Cake Shoppe about a year ago at a friend's daughters birthday party. Marriam had made a BEAUTIFUL cake for her daughter and I was highly impressed. When it came time to pick someone for our wedding I knew just who to pick. We had a cake and cupcakes made and they were both very beautiful and tasted SO good. We had so many compliments! I wish there was some way to attach photos, because the sugar paste peony Marriam made for our cake was mind-blowing!

Let me start out by saying that I had a crazy idea to have black currant filling in my wedding cake. It's not a well known ingredient in the US, and several other cake bakers in the area either right away told me they couldn't do it, or just stopped responding to my emails once I brought it up. My fiance even suggested that we should give up before everyone refuses to work with us, haha. And then we found Marriam.
She not only wasn't scared of the idea, she immediately offered two options: either to bring back some black currant filling from her vacation to the UK, or pick some berries off of her friend's bush and use that to make homemade filling. This is just one example of how incredibly sweet and thoughtful of a person she is!

We then continued to work off of pinterest inspiration pictures, and in spite of being on the Type A side, I left a lot of decisions up to Marriam - that's how much I trusted her taste. The end result was pure perfection. It was beyond gorgeous, and on top of that perfectly moist and delicious. She even remembered our request to not make the frosting too sweet! Once we tasted the cake (and we are foodies that are not easy to please), we immediately agreed that we would be coming back to Marriam for every anniversary.

Oh, and on top of it all she is a buttercream master - we chose to have textured buttercream, but if you wanted the fondant look without the icky taste, Marriam can smooth out that buttercream like nobody else.

Marriam at the Little Purple Cake Shop is amazing. She listened to exactly what we wanted, made DELICIOUS mini cupcakes and a delicious cutting cake for my husband and I. She came early to set up and lent us her displays to use for our wedding. We had a chocolate with maple cutting cake, and minis in lemon/lemon; buttercream/maple; chocolate/buttercream. Her work is beyond words. Our guests RAVED about dessert all night and asked for a slice of cake the NEXT night when they were visiting our house!

We have used The Little Purple Cake Shoppe two years in a row for our daughter's birthday. Mirriam's vision is amazing and she has the rare ability to combine appearance and taste to create the ultimate cake / cupcake. Both years she was able to bring my ideas to life!
