Hi! I am Channing Stewart. I wear many hats around here - I am a high school English teacher by day, and a momma, a goat farmer, and a venue manager the rest of the time. I love all my roles here at our farm and at our venue, I love working with people, and I most certainly hope to help you create beautiful memories here at The Lawyer's Overlook.
The Stewart family farm was purchased in the 1970's by John and Mary Stewart. The 200+ acres has served as a campground, a cattle farm, a tobacco farm, and is currently an active tree farm and we run our hobby goat farm here as well. We lost both of Nathan's parents in 2021, and in an effort to honor John and Mary and to keep the farm intact, Nathan and I opened The Lawyer's Overlook.
My husband, Nathan, and I have worked tirelessly to create a unique space at The Lawyer's Overlook that embodies his parent's style, their charisma, and their love of entertaining. Our venue is a canvas of sorts for your special day, and we look forward to curating a memorable and special event for you! We welcome couples and families of all types on our farm at our venue. We are flexible and easy to work with, and we promise to work to make your event everything you desire it to be!
Hello, I am Nathan Stewart. My wife, Channing, and I live on the farm surrounding the venue and have really enjoyed opening and running The Lawyer’s Overlook. My main job is a computer software consultant, but I also handle most of the "behind the scenes" tasks for our venue. I am here to help answer any questions or aid with any technical or logistical issue you may have prior to, or during your event. Our number one goal is to help YOU create wonderful memories here at The Lawyer's Overlook.
Our family farm was purchased in the 1970's by my parents. The 200+ acres has served as a cattle farm, to grow hay, as a campground, a tobacco farm, and is currently an active tree farm. We also run our hobby goat farm here. We lost both of my parents in 2021, and to honor them, and to keep the farm intact, Channing and I purchased their prior residence and opened The Lawyer's Overlook. Being architecturally designed and open-air, with spectacular views, it lends itself well to this purpose.
