We planned our small (85 person) West Texas wedding from afar. Michelle and Meagan worked with us from the jump to book fabulous videographers (31 Films), photographers (The Nichols), and the best wedding band anyone had ever seen or heard (The Mott’s). The venue appealed to us both for sentimental reasons but also because it was a one stop shop. Michelle and her team took care of every detail for us from linens to flowers to food and cake. It made wedding planning for two busy professionals a breeze. The flowers were stunning, the food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. All of our guests stayed on site and loved the accommodations - the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. All of our guests remarked at how seamlessly the day ran. If you are considering getting married anywhere near Big Bend, I can’t recommend the team at the Gage enough.

Michelle and the rest of the team at the Gage were phenomenal to work with. They were very in-tune with what we were looking for, and did everything possible to make sure they provided what we were envisioning and that our guests were comfortable. The room block was easy to manage, the rooms were perfect, the flowers were absolutely phenomenal, and the food was the best anyone had ever had at a wedding.

I highly recommend you talking to the Gage if you're considering getting married in the Big Bend area. All of our guests continue to rave about the Gage, and we are so happy that we chose to get married in Marathon.

If you decide to get married at the Gage, you will not be disappointed! Michelle West and Devin Pierce are phenomenal and will make the entire process so easy and FUN! The Gage Hotel made my dream wedding come true. We had almost all of our guests stay there, so it was awesome that nobody had to leave once the "party" was over. Ann Urban is absolutely incredible. She will work with your budget, preferences, and any specifics you want.

I cannot image a better location to have our wedding. It was truly the best day of our lives! The Gage Hotel is in the small town of Marathon, which was fun because our wedding party essentially took over the entire town. Main street was filled with our friends and family enjoying the beautiful mountain weather and small town shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is gorgeous and varied. From the historic hotel to the beautiful Los Portales, to the new and hip Captain Shepards house to individual casitas, we truly appreciated not only the top-rate accommodates, but also the variety in sizes and prices. All of our guests felts supremely accommodated both in space and budget. More luxurious rooms were available for some while others could choose more cost effective ones.

All of our events at the hotel throughout the weekend were beautiful, seamless and fun. The food at all of the events was incredible, menus and quality that impressed foodie guests from San Francisco and New York. And the decor and flowers that the Gage organized for us were exactly what we had asked for and was also incredibly high quality. What truly made it so fun though was the staff. Throughout the entire planning process, everyone at the hotel was a joy to work with. Professional, great taste, incredibly accommodating, and enthusiastic, they made every bit of the process exceptional.

We left feeling like we had not only had the wedding of our dreams, but had also found a new home and lifelong friends at the Gage Hotel!

When I first showed my fiance' The Gage Hotel, she immediately noticed what I'd seen visiting there previously on motorcycle trips - the place has a great vibe! Then when we met Ann there to discuss our wedding, I found out just what an amazing place it is. Ann listened to what we wanted in a wedding - intimate, small, private, outside, and with amazing food - a celebration that would never be forgotten. She suggested a sunset wedding on the Kiva, with a private dinner on the restaurant patio next to the fireplace. Ann absolutely hit the ball out of the park! Following our first meeting, Ann arranged the cake (from a baker in Marfa), the flowers, and all the other details that wedding planners typically charge a fortune for. On wedding day, the Kiva wasn't blocked to outsiders, but we had the place completely to ourselves. Ann coordinated all the details on timing of the ceremony, arranged for champagne to be chilling on the patio for a post-vow toast, and made sure our dinner was spectacular. All our guests stayed in the historic hotel and my wife and I stayed in the carriage house.

I can't say enough good things about The Gage. The wedding planning was perfect (and very reasonably priced relative to other places we considered), the staff were incredibly friendly, and the setting, with a beautiful historical hotel set in a part of the world that provides some of the best sunsets you'll ever see, was simply perfect.

We've already booked our room in the carriage house for Valentine's Day next year - we'll be back every year to celebrate a wonderful union shared at The Gage.

Carol at the Gage is an absolute pro. She and Michelle made sure our ceremony (in the Gardens) and receptions (in the dance court) went off without a hitch, even when we ended up with about 50 people over what we had originally anticipated. They were creative in making sure I could keep the spaces I wanted to use. The food was FANTASTIC. Quail, crab cakes, tenderloin, quinoa, potatoes and awesome vegetables...but our buffet was much more reasonably priced than a less wonderful assortment at the venues we looked at in Santa Fe and Colorado Springs. The location is so unusual, and our guests were able to enjoy hiking Big Bend, art galleries in Marfa, and star parties in Fort Davis as part of the weekend. Many of our wedding guests came in town Thursday to make sure they were able to make the most of the trip...Because it is so secluded, our guests all got to know each other, hanging out at the Spa or by the pool on Saturday. We can't say enough good things about the location or the people that work there!

Thanks to Ann Urban and the talented folks at the Gage Hotel, we were able to provide our daughter with the wedding of her dreams! Every detail was perfect. Our guests were wowed with the setting and had a wonderful time. Working with the front desk manager and staff was challenging at times, but all other aspects worked out perfectly. Our friends are still talking about what a spectacular wedding it was and what a fun time they had. Most importantly, our daughter and her husband were happy, happy, happy - and that is priceless.

WE LOVED THE GAGE HOTEL AND THEIR ENTIRE STAFF. OUR DAUGHTER'S WEDDING WAS A WELL PLANNED EVENT WHICH WENT OFF WITHOUT A HITCH! THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, STAFF WAS EFFICIENT AND RESPONSIVE, AND THE CHOICE OF VENUE LOCATIONS WAS FANTASTIC. WE HELD THE WEDDING AND RECEPTION IN THE GAGE GARDENS - 7 ACRES OF BEAUTIFUL HIGH DESERT PLANTINGS, FLOWERING SHRUBS, PONDS, AND GRASSES. THE HOTEL IS WONDERFUL, WITH PLENTY OF OPTIONS ON ROOM ACCOMODATIONS. ON TOP OF ALL THAT THE WEATHER WAS DELIGHTFUL! WE COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A NICER WEEKEND.

The Gage did a wonderful spread for our rehearsal dinner on their patio. They were at first hesitant about the number of people, but after pressing we found that the limiting factor was the number of chairs and tables they had -- not a problem of space at all. No problem... a few rentals thrown into the mix and a grand time was had by all.
