The Farmhouse Barn is a wedding and events center located in Sturgis, South Dakota. Owners Amy and Savannah are honored to share this unique venue with couples looking to get married in style. Dedicated to helping couples create cherished memories, this duo will work diligently to help you realize the wedding of your dreams in this charming property.

Facilities and Capacity

The Farmhouse Barn comfortably seats up to 266 guests and can provide further space in one of their outdoor event tents. The serenity and natural beauty of the property’s surroundings lend themselves to creating an inviting, intimate atmosphere for you and your guests. A number of scenic outdoor locations are available to host a memorable and meaningful ceremony. The barn’s interior is fitted with simple yet elegant lighting features, with ornate chandeliers and delicate string lighting. Couples are welcome to make use of the barn’s 35 handmade 8-foot long wooden tables and cross-back chairs for a sit-down meal. The property also holds both outdoor and indoor bar areas, as well as ample space for a variety of vendors.

Services Offered

The barn offers a stocked beer and wine bar and the service of a professional and friendly bartender for your event. Amy and Savannah share their expertise in their decorating and event planning packages, ensuring that your venue can meet its full potential. Assistance in both setup and cleanup is available, allowing you to relax at your event without worrying about the minor details. S’mores kits are available for pre-order for you and your loved ones to enjoy, cozy by the outdoor fire pit.

Location

The Farmhouse Barn is located in idyllic Meade County, just minutes from Sturgis and a short drive from Pleasant Valley Road. The property is easily accessible by car and is only 30 minutes away from Rapid City. The barn’s rural surroundings are a tranquil getaway from the busy towns, the rolling hills, and picturesque skies creating captivating backdrops for meaningful events.

Most amazing venue!!

The ladies at own The Farmhouse Barn are nothing short of amazing. I seriously don’t know what I would of don’t without their help and guidance. I will forever recommend this venue! Thank you again Amy and Savannah for making our wedding so amazing!!

Spectacular

When our original wedding venue cancelled on us just 45 days ahead of our wedding we contacted the Farmhouse Barn and they were amazing to work with from the very first message. The Barn is absolutely stunning and fit us perfectly.

Gorgeous views and wonderful people

My husband and I just got married at The Farmhouse Barn this past summer and wow did they not disappoint! I've always wanted a boho wedding in a barn with fields and fields of trees and tall flowing grass in the wind and that is literally everything I got! We really wanted a location where we could have the ceremony, reception and dance all in the same place and the barn was set up to be able to do that. It's large enough to have the ceremony inside and flip it around for the reception afterwards. After all our decorations were up, we still can't believe how good everything looked, I really think any style of wedding would be easy to pull off at this venue, especially with the breathtaking views. Since then, I've been back for all of their festivals and events, each time they have it set up very cute with seasonal décor and fun entertainment. We will definitely continue coming back for events and we hope to hold future family reunions there as well.

Additionally, we booked our wedding in 2019 before Covid-19 hit. As our wedding date was in the middle of it all, we made the very difficult decision to move our wedding date. As you could imagine we were very emotional to move our special day but we were able to reschedule our wedding day without any penalties or extra fees from this venue. Savannah and Amy were very sympathetic and understanding through the entire process and made it very easy for us.

Wedding and Reception!

We decided on The Farmhouse House during COVID, we got an incredible discount which is great! I felt has if they were very pushy to me to come see it even though I couldn’t just go see it. My husband and I both loved 4 hours away in opposite directions. Once we did finally get to see it separately we did choose this venue. We had a dry wedding with the wedding on one side and the reception on the other side of the building in December. It was chilly in there for rehearsal dinner but it was perfect for the wedding. We kept blowing fuses by the bar where we plugged in roasters for food. So we had to have one roaster at each plug in around the entire building. They were very nice every time we talked to them. We had to buy event insurance which personally I thought was dumb because we are already paying an arm and a leg for the wedding and reception, I didn’t feel it was necessary for an extra $420 for event insurance. Plus, we had a dry wedding. It would have been nice for the Bridal Suit to be connected to the barn, but I understand that is still in the works! It was a beautiful bridal suite, it had no cell service which could be a good and bad thing. On Friday, we were leaving the bridal suite and a man came and asked us why were we on his property. He was pretty scary but once we told him we were with the wedding he understood!
Overall, it was a stress free, relaxing day!

Beautiful Venue

We caught Amy and Savannah before the Barn was finished and we put our hope in these ladies. They were awesome, they finally finished up this spring in the middle of the pandemic. They were learning with each wedding, so some rules had changed since we first signed the contract, but they were super flexible and honored their word when I asked them about the differences.

I know the ladies offer to do decorating but we decided to decorate ourselves. But the hexagon arch I did end up renting from them for a very decent price. Absolutely beautiful.
