About
Please note: we will be renovating our sanctuary and reception area from January 2024 through May 2025, and unfortunately will not be able to book any weddings during that time frame.
The Church of the River is an ideal and affordable location for Memphis weddings: a beautiful sanctuary (designed by famed architect Roy Harrover) with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a breathtaking view of the mighty Mississippi River. Or, hold your ceremony outdoors, with a view of BOTH Memphis bridges (and their amazing nighttime synchronized LED light shows).
Weddings are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. Because of the popuarity of the church as a wedding location, it is important to make arrangements well in advance of your desired wedding date.
Things that you need to know...
- Weddings at The Church of the River may be held on Monday through Friday after 4:00 p.m. and on Saturdays.
- The areas of the church that are available for weddings are: the Sanctuary, which seats 250; Mississippi River Room, Chalice Room, and patio for receptions; Channing Wing, adjacent to the Sanctuary, which includes restrooms and a large room for the bride and her attendants to dress. The church is handicap accessible.
- Our "backyard" and two shaded brick patio areas are available for outdoor ceremonies or for taking photographs, if desired.
