About this venue
The Barn at Shady Grove is a Magical rustic wedding venue located in North Alabama just inside the bankhead forest in Double Springs, Alabama, just 8 miles from Smith Lake. With over 10 years in this business and more than 500 Weddings, we are a top Leader in the North Alabama wedding industry. This Venue does not disappoint. You can read over 500 "Five Star" reviews to learn about us. The Venue sits on its own property right off hwy 195. The venue was built specifically for weddings and offers both indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces. Total climate controlled & fully insulated with air conditioning and heating in all seasons. The Barn is a comfortable 70 degrees inside all year around. A 35KW Generac Generator also stands by ready to backup the main facility during adverse weather. Wedding ceremonies can be held outside on the lawn with a barn reception or couples can choose to hold both the ceremony and reception inside the barn underneath the $30,000 Chandelier or on stage. The Barn is conveniently located just 2 miles from Gateway Foodland, Dollar General, Jacks, Buena Vista Restaurant, Subway and Saporre Italian Grille. Also, Lodging is only 8 miles away at the Lakeshore Inn Restaurant and Golddiggers Lounge. Also, we have cozy A frame cabins on site for rent starting fall of 2026.
Facilities and Capacity
The Barn at Shady Grove can accommodate up to 250 guests comfortably in its two event spaces for weddings. We also have two complete separate houses on site for the bridal party and the groom party. These facilities are well setup and equipped for comfortable all day accomodations. All facilities are well insulated with central heat and air-conditioning, making it a comfortable venue for all seasons. The Barn features a huge antique chandelier that is 45 years old as a centerpiece in the main room. There is an upstairs balcony that surrounds the main floor on three sides. Full Stage and 24 channel Sound System provided for bands and entertainment. Full Video projection for showing video and pictures. We also feature satellite and huge screens for capturing any sports events during your time at our facility.
